Jihad Watch

Exposing the role that Islamic jihad theology and ideology play in the modern global conflicts

At last: Fox orders pilot of Muslim family sitcom

Feb 12, 2016 8:48 am By Robert Spencer

Here it is at last: the long-desired Muslim family situation comedy that is going to cure “Islamophobia” by showing racist, ignorant, xenophobic Americans that hey, look, Muslims are just like us. Katie Couric called for it during the Ground Zero Mosque controversy, saying that what America needed was a Muslim Cosby Show. Now that Bill Cosby is so resoundingly discredited, Reza Aslan, with his typical moronic arrogance, updated the demand and called for a Muslim “All in the Family,” apparently not realizing that the central character of that show was a butt of jokes and an object of ridicule. But clearly he meant the same thing: if Americans could just see Muslims outside of the context of jihad terrorism, they would love them, and “Islamophobia” would evanesce. And then Barack Obama said last week at the Islamic Society of Baltimore that “our TV shows should have Muslim characters that are unrelated to national security.”

Now we have it. Will it work? Will it make Americans drop their concerns about jihad terror? Unlikely. The whole idea that Muslims are threatened, harassed and discriminated against in the U.S. is a creation of the Islamic advocacy industry, which knows well how well it pays to be a victim in the U.S. today. Those groups — Hamas-linked CAIR, ISNA, MPAC and the rest — will still need to play the victimhood game even while this sitcom is running, and after its run has ended. So we will continue to see fake hate crimes and claims of discrimination, and the failure of this show to stem the tide of “Islamophobia” will be touted as a reason why Muslims deserve special privileges and the further weakening of counter-terror measures.

Meanwhile, how a 34-year-old woman is going to be convincing playing a 14-year-old boy is an open question, but whether or not Nasim Pedrad can pull it off, it is noteworthy that this Muslim sitcom will feature a 14-year-old boy who has to serve as the man of the house. That suggests that it will not feature the individual who is the center and dominant figure of most real Muslim families: an adult male. That makes it likely that the show will not depict in any remotely realistic manner the way women are treated in observant Muslim homes — and given the purpose of this project, that is not surprising at all.

“Fox Orders ‘Chad’ Comedy Pilot Starring Nasim Pedrad As Teen Middle Eastern Boy,” by Nellie Andreeva, Deadline, February 10, 2016:

Fox has given a late pilot order to Chad: An American Boy, a single-camera Middle Eastern family comedy co-created by and starring Saturday Night Live alumna Nasim Pedrad and directed by Jason Winer.

Written by Pedrad & Rob Rosell, Chad centers on a 14-year-old boy (Pedrad) in the throes of adolescence is tasked with being the man of the house, which leaves him with all the responsibilities of being an adult without any of the perks. Pedrad, Rosell and Winer executive produce with 3 Arts’ Michael Rotenberg and Dave Becky. 20th Century Fox TV is the studio.

“I’m thrilled to be able to portray a Middle Eastern family not working for or against Jack Bauer on network TV,” said Pedrad, who is Iranian American. “Also, a big thank you to Fox for understanding that my true essence is that of an awkward and misguided 14-year-old boy.”

Pedrad’s remark, which references the protagonist in Fox’s terrorism drama 24, echoes President Barack Obama’s recent comment during a visit to a U.S. mosque that “our TV shows should have muslim [sic] characters that are unrelated to national security.”…

When defenders of Islam claimed to be alarmed by an increase in (Islamophobic “rhetoric”), they are unknowingly admitting that the daily stench of Islam is tainting their perfumed BS.

There is no Islamophobia because for infidels to fear Islam is a sensible thing to do. Islam is out to conquer the world and make us convert, submit, or die.

No adult male in the Muslim household ruling the roost? Yeah, that’s realistic. By eliminating an adult male from the show they didn’t have to deal with a Muslim male autocrat, as well as pesky Islamic cultural things like FGM, honor killings, forced hijabs, and confining females to the home. Or, is the male ‘teen going to be the enforcer? And, a woman playing the male ‘teen? What in the heck is that about???

    • Carolyne says

      Feb 13, 2016 at 12:03 pm

In the real world, the male Muslim teen would be the enforcer. I doubt that such a thing would happen on this show, though, because it might give the US a glimpse of the world of Islam, where males of any age rule females of any age and enforce their misogyny upon hapless girls and women.

In Islam, women are considered nothing but sexual objects, somewhat lower than an attractive goat. FOX wouldn’t dare portray the truth about Islam.

This TV show could actually be beneficial in establishing acceptable norms for Muslim behavior. A middle-school Muslim boy gets out of line and then is told to “behave like Pedrad”

By establishing a better norm, some would be Jihadists might move away from Jihad. Maybe..

Since it’s a woman pretending to be a boy, will she still be required to keep her limbs and face covered?

Nothing like non-realism to make realism real. This is just too stupid. Can’t think of a single…or married…person I know who would waste the time to watch it.

And it won’t keep people from finding out the true nature of what islam is all about…because it won’t stop moslims around the world from engaging in terrorism and attempting to make the rest of us subject to the evils involved with the cult from satan…esp, the murdering and torturing and extortion of Christians. One idiot show of make-believe can’t come close to stopping that.

It would make more sense for males to portray females on this sit com because males are not restricted to the amount of skin they can show as women are. So a male could wear a sleeveless dress and keep his hair uncovered with no repercussions from the Muslim world, while a female doing so might be murdered for it. Depicting SMG might be a problem, though.

Here in Canada we are a decade ahead of the curve with the NON-National Taxpayer Funded Progressive Propaganda Engine CBC remaking a beloved series “Little House on the Prarie” with the Sitcom flop “Little Mosque on the Prarie”.

Little Mosque on the Prarie was slammed by various progressives, on one side they had women in Hijabs where the Canadian Muslim Congress stated this is a cultural attribute, not a religious one, and that wearing a Hijab has nothing to do with Islam and purpetuates stereotypes, to the conservative Muslims screaming that the Islamic Family were apostates and not following the “True Rules of Islam” since Wahabi-ism is so prevalent in Canadian Human Rights (Kangaroo Court) Tribunals and court rulings.

I think that whatever studio picks this up there will be a backlash from the “Muslim community” that it is too conservative and doesn’t adequately depict “Modern Muslim Values” while the “Islamic Community” will decry how this stereotypical com-dram doesn’t come close to the morals and values of the “Islamic Community.

The fact that it is a comedy will have the males denigrated as the progressive movement is notorious for the “males cannot survive without being totally mommied by some women in their lives”. The fact that it is Iranian based means that Shia/Shiite apostate statements will be decried by the Majority Suni, and the Saudi backed Wahabbist movement which exports it’s Sunni Extremist ideology with Oil Profits flowing all over the world for the creation of mosques, madrassas, and lobby groups for the “Soft Jihad” which it has been waging since the Suad Royal family cut a deal with the U.S. Government to create U.S. dollar as the Reserve Currency and the full adoption of Fiat (money that has value by declaration) destroying the Brent system (which had value of money tied to Gold) by way of oil being valued internationally in U.S. Dollars, the creation of the World Bank (Ironically in New York) which lasted more than 50 years (only offset by China last year with the declaration of the renmimbi as a reserve currency and the creation of an alternative World Bank based out of Bejing, which the U.S. tried to prevent). All that to say that the U.S. adoption of Sunni as the True Tribe of Islam, will have contrasting and separate shows created, legally forced to be broadcast, by the Sunni system to counter the Hollywood Iranian Shia apostate version. I would not be surprised if governmental intervention (not to prevent Islamic Television) to change the narrative from Shia to Sunni, with a gradual progression from Moderate Wahiibism to Conservative Wahiibism as the U.S. public gets desensitized and the opposition groups are outed, award ceremonies (Grammies, Academy Awards, etc) are taken over by Saudi oil wealth.

This is only the beginning of the Muslim Brotherhood revolutionization of U.S. content, just as the Saudi influince on Canadian Broadcasting created the Taxpayer funded, CRTC (Canadian Radio and Television Commission) forced broadcasting of total and complete propaganda by the Soft Jihadists who are at war with our way of life.

      Feb 12, 2016 at 9:37 am

Frankly I would think that the cast and makers of this show would be putting their lives on the line for assassination for the very reasons you state. If this pilot is ever picked up and there is an actual TV show as described, I wouldn’t be surprised if they all become targets of the Islamic State and friends.

    • Pere LaChaise says

      Feb 12, 2016 at 12:01 pm

I used to enjoy Little Mosque watching first few seasons’ episodes on YouTube but got bored after that. The jokes were pretty funny for a while and characters were cute and engaging, but it paled after a while.
I don’t know about CBC’s putative Saudi connection but I wholeheartedly agree that we must expose the ‘soft jihad’ wahhabist wool being pulled over our eyes, with full connivance of all pseudo liberals in business, government and media. The powerful troika defining the mainstream exerts enormous influence over the shallow and vapid people who make up the majority in most nations.
It is the sovereign duty of every intelligent and passionate lover of Truth and Reason to speak cogently against islamification in all spheres. President Obama’ bizarre preference for viewing Moslems as a unified conservative and devout community, with preference toward a conventional Wahhabist-leaning profile for all of them, needs to be addressed intelligently.
Little Mosque actually depicted a diverse group of Moslems who did not conform to Obama’s oddly conservative uniform. I cannot say that Little Mosque had a negative impact on society. It was just minority humor and fairly creative.

  8. Don McKellar says

    Feb 12, 2016 at 9:32 am

Well, it is just a pilot. Like many pilots, it probably won’t be picked up and perhaps few will ever get to see it. It sounds so completely awful and artificial that it would be funny for all the wrong reasons not intended by the makers.

Of course, they can only display Muslims who are not being Muslim at all. Nobody is going to watch this. Anymore than they watched Al Jazeera America. Islam is despised by ordinary Americans, even if they can’t articulate why. And the elites in America despise ordinary Americans and honor Muslims (who despise them in turn). Quite a circus. The BBC has already done something like this, called Citizen Khan. It’s first series was called racist by many people, didn’t hear anything from muslims good or bad.
There is no mention, as far as I can recall of Mohammad. It centres around Mr Khan, his wife, and 2 daughters, grandma also lives with them. The Imam is a white British convert with a ginger beard, the eldest daughter is married to a muslim who basically is a bit of a moron, of course father always tries his best but always manages to mess everything up. Youngest daughter is always in a hijab but gets rid of it as soon as she gets out of the house. Everyone is all lovey dovey. Must admit it is quite funny but it certainly hasn’t “reduced Islamophobia” in the UK especially if you listen to the muslim civic leaders.
The only way to reduce so called Islamophobia is for muslims to stand up and be counted against all those hate filled verses of the koran being spouted off in the mosque and all across the Islamic world and against all those members of the Umma who keep going of to kill as many infidels as they can.

    • Michael Copeland says

      Feb 13, 2016 at 6:36 am

To “stand up and be counted against all those hate filled verses of the koran” means denying verses. One who does so is to be killed. Anyone may perform the killing vigilante style and penalty-free, “since it is killing someone who deserves to die” (Manual of Islamic Law, “Reliance of the Traveller” o8.7(7), o8.4).
The imam in Arizona who came to the conclusion that two verses did not belong in the Koran was stabbed to death http://www.jihadwatch.org/2012/12/arizona-muslim-convicted-of-murdering-imam-for-islamic-heresy.

I, too, have noticed a difference on FOX news. There is a man whose name I don’t recall who appears occasionally on Megan Kelley’s show. He was a double agent, a Western spy who infiltrated ISIS. One night he was reading an Islamic tract which was about killing infidels when Kelley asked him if he were reading from some hateful ISIS propaganda. He said, No, he was reading from the Koran. Kelley was flabberghasted but sort of kept her cool and changed the subject. But I rarely watch her show anymore since she trashed Donald Trump during the first debate. Frankly, I don’t care what Trump called Rosie O’Donnell. That is not important to the safety and wellbeing of this country. Later she said she called it “Good journalism.” I call it trash. It appears that FOX is pushing Rubio. I am not necessarily a Trump supporter, but I do think FOX is no longer “Fair and balanced.”

It’s kind of funny that the executives who are considering this series about Muslims don’t understand what danger they would be in. However, the First Amendment. Use it or lose it.

Fox has shot themselves in the foot with this one, the Hamas-linked CAIR, ISNA, MPAC and the rest will have to argue against the holywood magazines & gossip blogs,

And you can bet they will ..
Those guys can write a full page of sensationalism from the smallest titbit …. and it’s continous,

The Mags, the Paparatzi and the Blogs will have a field day with a woman playing the 14 year old ..

One scary situ or a terrorist connection and the advertisers will disappear … (which via ratings ,, of course leads to shows being abandoned)

This is going to be very interesting ..

Pedrad’s remark, which references the protagonist in Fox’s terrorism drama 24, echoes President Barack Obama’s recent comment during a visit to a U.S. mosque that “our TV shows should have muslim [sic] characters that are unrelated to national security.”

This has been already been attempted in Canada. The show was called “Little Mosque on the Prairie”. It tanked, it was a terrible show and I think it only lasted a few seasons. It completely white-washed Islam but it was also just boring and not funny.

  39. vlparker says

    Feb 12, 2016 at 7:34 pm

It won’t work. Too many Americans are all too aware of what islam really is. FOX can try to whitewash islam all it wants, Americans won’t buy it. This does, however, tell us all we need to know about FOX. Perhaps O’Reilly, McCallum and Ingraham can have cameos on the show.

It’s garbage to be honest, I realized I’ve got nothing in common with these people, not even humour, but that’s the new BBC weapon, humour, especially with the amount of new muzzer comedic ‘talent’ being shoved to the fore, look at us. we’re all the same really….BOOOM,BOOOM…ALLAH U AKBAR…AK47s going off all over but don’t worry we can all have a laugh,eh?

I thought you were ahead of us too, until we elected one of them as President. However, we still have the right to criticize Islam, unlike in the UK. But we are a close second in the stupid department. In England, reading aloud from Winston Churchill’s writings about Islam can get you a visit to Old Bailey. (Does it still exist?)

      • DFD says

        Feb 13, 2016 at 4:48 pm

Carolyne says: “… the right to criticize Islam, unlike in the UK… In England, reading aloud from Winston Churchill’s writings about Islam can get you a visit to Old Bailey. (Does it still exist?)”

We can criticize Islam, but very, very carefully. Old Bailey still exists – for the time being. I think they will first take offence (* see footnote) about the statue of Justitia, with her scales of justice and wearing ‘only’ a blindfold. It may be that she’ll be covered with a burka. Later on to be replaced with the statue of a man, no scales, but a scimitar. Then it will be renamed into something sharia-ish or simply be demolished.

Of course, Brits may rise. Hmmmhh, there’s a worrying thought. Karl Marx once said that “if a group of English revolutionaries would be ordered to occupy a train station, they’d be buying platform tickets first.” I wonder….

Footnote: With our idiotic Bishops, and the Muslims being offended by everything, there’s a distinct possibility that we have to change the Lord’s Prayer, to something like: “…and forgive us if we offend Muslims, Bless them, and hopefully they may also forgive us for offending them… etc.” —- It’s just a thought.

“Middle Eastern family comedy” ??? there is no fun or humour in Islam.

An old woman to play the part of a young boy?? How long will CAIR allow her to live?

To all you advertisers out there – don’t touch this idea. If I hear you have been a sponsor your product will never be seen in my home.

Of course there will be no adult male shown. Will he will be too busy having sex with his daughters and the “son” or will he be at a farm getting friendly with the animals?

The Canadian Broadcasting Corporation produced a similar show called “Little Mosque On The Prairie” which lasted for several seasons, no doubt heavily subsidized because nobody actually watched it.

I watched one episode out of curiosity. It was a very lame show but, at the same time, it was pretty obvious pro-Islam propaganda.

Keep an eye out for this new show if it actually airs. It should give Robert and JW a lot a material for articles.

Oh yes, the joy of teaching other how to stab a Jew and behead non-believers, sexually enslave and rape young children in the tradition and culture they are taught. Pandering to muslims and islam is not what I expect from FOX, the only source of truth on TV. Polls prove that millions of ordinary muslims support and approve of islamic terrorism and mass murder. I do not want to know any more about islam than I have been forced to learn already. I find the primitive, dark-ages murder cult totally puke inducing and hateful and I will not watch this “muslim family values” crap no matter what venue carries it.

Fox will cut it soon, The same thing happened in Canada, with the CBC Nobody watched little mosque on the prairie, although the CBC pushed hard for its success. At one time every poster in the subway was an advertisement for this show. It still flopped. Likewise it was edited by muslims so we would only see the sanitized version. No honor killings or mention of terrorism, Have faith. The almighty dollar still rules. If you dont watch, they will kill the show
