Jihad Watch

Exposing the role that Islamic jihad theology and ideology play in the modern global conflicts

Huffington Post starts “Islamophobia” tracker to document “deplorable wave of hate” against Islam

Feb 14, 2016 6:19 pm By Robert Spencer

Hey, great idea. And The Religion of Peace site tracks murderous jihad attacks around the world, including the U.S. Why don’t we meet back here in a year and see who has killed more people in the U.S.: Islamic jihadis or “Islamophobes.” No attacks on any innocent people are ever justified, but note also that many of the Huffington Post’s documented instances of “Islamophobia” are sensible measures designed to protect people from jihad terror and Sharia oppression, such as bills to ban Sharia or track Syrian refugees, or are just statements they don’t like. They are trying to demonize and silence all opposition to jihad terror.

Huffpo-phobia

“HuffPost Starts Tracker of ‘Deplorable Wave of Hate’ Against Islam,” by Melissa Mullins, Newsbusters, February 9, 2016:

The Huffington Post – which considers itself a reputable news source – has started an “Islamophobia” tracker. This little side project on its site tracks anti-Muslim remarks, harassment, intimidation, bigotry and acts of violence against Muslims. Why? Because the Huffington Post feels a severe phobia about Muslims has taken over America in recent months. From their site:

After last year’s terror attacks in Paris and mass shooting in San Bernardino, California — and amidst a surge in anti-Muslim rhetoric from U.S. politicians — reports about Muslims in America facing violence, harassment, intimidation and bigotry have become omnipresent. Many Muslims say Islamophobia is worse now than it’s ever been — even worse than it was after 9/11.

It might be impossible to create a comprehensive list of discriminatory acts against American Muslims and those perceived to be Muslim, but The Huffington Post will document this deplorable wave of hate for all of 2016 using news reports and firsthand accounts. The breadth and severity of Islamophobia in America can no longer go unnoticed. Enough is enough.

At the bottom of this tracker page, For those looking to “stand up for your Muslim neighbors,” The Huffington Post links to CAIR – an Islamic organization with ties to radical terrorist groups. There’s also a “visit your local mosque” link.

As of Tuesday, there have been 28 “documented” instances of Islamophobia – all in the month of January. They are not just “hate crimes,” there is media coverage and legislation they dislike:

Here’s just a sampling of the “instances” where islamophobia was committed:

– During the Republican presidential debate in Iowa, Fox News Channel’s Megyn Kelly “wonders if seeing Muslims justifies a call to police.” In contest, she wondered if neighbors of the San Bernadino shooters should have reported something if they saw large packages being delivered to their house.

– State legislature in South Carolina advances a bill forbidding Sharia law in courts.

– State senate committee in South Carolina okays a bill to track Syrian refugees.

– “Hate speech” at California State University in Sacramento (though the actual hateful message wasn’t elaborated on by the college administrators.)

– Legislation in Tennessee that would “stop Islamic religious indoctrination” when parents expressed anger over lessons on Islam and a teacher having their students write and say “Allah is the only god” for a project – though Christianity and Judaism were barely given a mention….

Geez – that could be Jihadwatch’s slogan, too!

Confront it in what manner? That statement leaves a lot to the imagination on both sides of the street.

Yes, it could be a JihadWatch slogan, Mockingjay.

Chris, I think the implication is clear from the JihadWatch side: confronting “hate” consists of exposing the facts to public view. That’s what JihadWatch tries to do.

Buffster – that is indeed exactly what I meant. This slogan could so easily be turned around on the people who thought it up – but of course they choose to remain in complete denial of the enormous hate residing and cultivated in islam, and in the minds of millions of muslims.

      So true, Jay Boo.

But how often do Muslims and Muslim apologists do this? They moan about how Infidels are suspicious of Mohammedans or less favorably disposed towards Islam after Muslims murder us–which seems like an immanently rational response.

  4. somehistory says

Well it is okay, it is acceptable, to hate an *idea* or a *practice.*

It is more than okay to hate an evil idea and perfectly acceptable to hate an evil, murderous, practice.

islam is an idea….an evil idea. Adherents of islam, practice evil and murder…examples are Calif., NYC, TN, Washington state, OK, TX, Paris, and all over Israel and Africa and the ME.

islam deserves to be the object of hate. It is an evil teaching and practice straight from satan the devil.

    • John Stefan Obeda says

      Feb 15, 2016 at 12:02 pm

I believe that it is a sin not to hate evil. God hates evil and His children, therefore, also hate evil. “O you who love the Lord, hate evil! (Ps 97:10) And it is also a sin not to hate Islam for Islam’s god is false. Islam’s god is vanity; it is nothing. And all the works of the terrorist-Islamists are evil. Everything that Islamists do is evil and sin for their works which the unbelieving world considers to be good are not good in God’s sight for they are not done in the name of Him before Whom every knee shall bow. Their works are evil and sin. The true God hates Islam. :”You hate all evildoers.” (Psalm 5:5b) (Well, He loves them too for the sake of His Son’s work of redemption). And His true children also hate Islam. And many people who are not God’s spiritual children also hate Islam because they still use their common sense and they still recognize the natural law which God has put into their hearts.

But if some Christian minister only mentioned that a gay man is possibly destined for Hell, Huff Po would be all over the guy, denouncing him for extreme homophobia. Meanwhile, in the Islamic world, for instance in Iran, gay men are killed for the great crime of being——-gay. And Huff Po and its ilk say NOTHIING about this.

Over 27,000 documented Islamic terrorist attacks worldwide just since 9/11 and Huff Po has no comment here. But were Christians, acting in the name of their faith, as Muslims do on virtually a daily basis, to commit just 10%, hell just 1%, of the atrocities that Mo’s deluded followers do, it would be a field day on Christians by Huff Po. Hell, it’s a field day by Huff Po anyway where excoriation and ridicule of Christians is concerned. But think those at Huff Po would ever think they’re guilty of Christianityophobia? Not on your life.

Huff Po is not only a publishing moron, it is also a publishing hypocrite. As with Islam, they are deserving of ridicule and contempt.

    • mortimer says

      Feb 14, 2016 at 9:46 pm

Huff Po is self-consciously cultural Marxist. Therefore they are fully conscious of their propaganda program: to denigrate European civilization and exalt the ‘noble savages’ of Islam whom they are bringing into the West to destroy it from within. Having failed at every other means to impose proletarian dictatorship, they have found the ‘anti-racist’, ‘anti-bigot’ method to be the most effective to demolish Western values. The greatest haters of the West are Muslims. They love the prosperity of the West, but as with all savages, they see a watch or a clock or something else made by a superior civilization and destroy it.

Jihadists resemble the Arab chieftain played by Anthony Quinn who loots an expensive clock; when it chimes, he smashes it because it disturbs him. Then he snorts with disgust, ‘This has no HONOR!’ When he loots horses, he says, ‘Ah, this is honorable!’

Muslims will enjoy the West until they loot and smash its cultural heritage and destroy the critical thought and the Western freedom that make it superior to 7th century Arab backwardness.

Considering there are annually 3 times as many hate crimes directed against Jews as there are against Muslims, Huffington Post should be called out for not having a “Judaeophobia” tracker and a “Visit your local synagogue” program. In fact, it should be spending 3X the effort to combat anti-Semitism as it is to combat Islamophobia if it were fair and balanced. But, of course, HuffPost does choose to hate by supporting a blatantly anti-Semitic ideology. Perhaps they just want to be mainstream?

  18. Peter says

    Feb 14, 2016 at 8:05 pm

Criticism of Islam neither constitutes “hate” nor a “phobia.” To presume automatically otherwise betrays intellectual dishonesty, stupidity, or an ideological bias. Indeed, criticism can be based on substance; i.e., based on fact, evidence (current and historical), doctrines, the behavior of Muslims and their beliefs, reason, logic, etc.

Those of us who seek to understand Islam, particularly its doctrines and the behaviors of its adherents towards the non-Muslim other (monotheist, polytheist, animist, atheist, agnostic, unbelievers, etc.), are engaged in ISLAMOPROBIA.

We do not suffer from an irrational fear or phobia of Islam. We seek to understand it in all its facets. If any of us have any fear about Islam, then those fears are based upon our research and confirmed by the evidence which Muslims lay before us every day about the nastier aspects of their faith. Such fears then are therefore quite rational.

Did I read this right – a “deplorable wave of hate” against Islam? I think Huffington Post just made a major error if those are the words they used. I would have expected them to say “a deplorable wave of hate against Muslims”, not rail against hate of a religion. We are somehow not supposed to hate a religion? What is this? A big mistake! While they may expect people not to discriminate against Muslims, to expect people to respect any particular religion, not alone one as awful as Islam, is totally unrealistic.

Why would it be “deplorable” if people hate it anyhow? Nobody can make you like or respect a religion, and it is not deplorable if you do. Obviously with groups like ISIS and Al Qaeda killing people in the name of Islam, people are going to hate it. Who wouldn’t? This Huffington Post has just completely blown any credibility they ever had.

Mark, it looks to me that “isbaal” is just another punctilious rule to wrap Muslims in minutiae so that their every action has a rule for it and there is little or no personal choice in anything.

I have no idea why wearing robes or trousers to a length below the ankles or wearing sleeves that are “too long” was/is considered “showing off”. A tripping hazard for robes and pants, maybe. And messy if you walk in dust or mud. And long sleeves can get in your hummus. But as a way to show off – that’s just a cultural strangeness that I do not comprehend.

However, the Huffpo and their ‘noble savages’ are trying to stop the awareness of Al Walaa wal Baraa…the Islamic doctrine of hatred against the dirty kafirs.

More than 60% of the Koran is the rant that Allah HATES the kafirs and wants Muslims to hurt them.

“…Certainly Allah’s hatred (of you) when you were called upon to the faith and you rejected, is much greater than your hatred of yourselves.” (40:10)

Even the memorial day for the millions of Jews that have lost their lives is often disturbed. Anti-semitism here is the most frequent form of discrimination. Nothing about it in the main stream media. All about this ‘islamophobia’ thing. Lots of Jewish people have already left Europe. Also in my country, Jews are considering leaving. It is astounding, how much liberals LOVE this ideology!

What’s most bizarre to me is that this ideology teaches and condones so many of the things they hate! Aren’t liberals all about supposedly love and tolerance and equality and feminism and pro-homosexuality? Islam has no equality between Muslims and non-Muslims. It has no equality between men and women. It has no concept of feminism. It has zero tolerance for homosexuality. (In the correct sense of the word, which is “putting up with something you may disagree with”.)

And yet they not only excuse this ideology, but they actively defend and promote it every chance they get.

It’s the most bizarre thing I have ever witnessed in my lifetime!

It’s called “MASOCHISM” and it’s been around forever.

Like all criminals, leftists are defeatist masochists at heart, having no faith in being able to trust anyone else, and so in stead choosing to slander everyone else as being untrustworthy.

Like Muhammad, their defeatism leads to self-fulfilling prophecies, where they attack everyone else, first, then blame their victims for having “made” them attack.

Masochists pretend to “control” their fears (in stead of trying to learn to recognize and fix mistakes and solve problems by paying attention to their fears) BY causing the same, worst-case pain-causing problems they fear the most.

(Hence libertine “liberalism,” where they pretend that it’s noble to pretend that fear doesn’t exist, and so always want to “progress” to “freedom” from the fearful pain of self-restraint).

Of course criminals are also all about the double-standards.

What they advocate for in public may be only an attempt to sway everyone ELSE to SUBMIT!

Being selfish they embrace hypocritical double standards, wanting rights without responsibilities, to never be offended by having their feelings hurt by the painful truth of being accused of their crimes.

And others are expected to have only responsibilities to them – to embrace suicidal masochism as their highest virtue – “TO GO ALONG” (with their criminal lies) “TO GET ALONG” (with the lying criminals)!

If what Baha’u’llah says about Mohammad contradicts the Quran, hadith, and Mohammad himself, it is irrelevant. That is because Muslims follow Mohammad and the Quran and hadith. They do not follow Baha’u’llah.

I don’t know why you cannot seem to get through your head that what YOU think or teach about Islam or this Baha’u’llah thinks/teaches about Islam is not the point! The point is, what do MUSLIMS think and teach about Islam?

Even more important is the question, what does Islam, itself, teach through its texts and the example of Mohammad?

    Islamophobia is a flawed term
A phobia, as in aracnaphobia, or claustrophobia is an irrational fear. We do not have an irrational fear of islam as in islamophobia. We do however, strongly reject the ideology of islam. There is a difference.
A polished surface that rejects, or does not accept water is hydrophobic, just as we do not accept islam, and we are islamophobic. The polished surface does not ‘have’ hydrophobia – just as we do not ‘have’ islamophobia.
This is not just a question of semantics – or being pedantic about the difference between the scientific terms -phobia and -phobic. It is important to understand that resisting islam does not arise from any irrational fear, but rather from careful evaluation of the facts, and arriving at a proven conclusion.
Having explained the difference, I doubt that our detractors would have the intelligence to comprehend, but, that is OK. The more they keep confusing and fooling themselves, the easier they make it for us to reject them.

Best way to fight the propaganda is to embrace it, weaken and depower the word by using it. They are trying to give the word the power that the word “racist” has. This should be countered by adoption of the word. Could make a nice link to Churchill’s comment about Islam and Hydrophobia. “Islamophobia; better than hydrophobia in a dog.”

      Here is what I wrote…

      Dear Sir,

I noticed an error in your article where you state: “Islamophobia is real”.

A phobia implies an irrational fear. However, people have good reason to fear Islam as they see it practised all over the world. Forget for a moment the hundreds of thousands who support or participate in jihad and affiliate with groups such as ISIS and Al Qaeda. Just look at the Islamic countries of the OIC. Every one of them has barbaric laws against blasphemy and apostasy, treat women quite badly and force FGM on them, advocated hatred against Jews and other religions, etc. Then there is all the hate and violence in the Quran.

Now I could develop an essay of many pages, but I think you get my point, Islam is a violent and barbaric religion that gives us endless rational reasons to fear it. The onus is on you to explain why it is fear of Islam is irrational.

You also need to put discrimination against Muslims in perspective. You can’t just pick one religion in a vacuum. It has been clearly documented that anti-Semitism is a far worse problem than anti-Muslim.
In fact, much of the anti-Semitism is committed by Muslims and is inherent in the Quran.

Islamophobia is NOT real! It is a made up term to discredit legitimate criticism of Islam.

      Regards,

      xxxx

To Linnte – Just don’t underestimate the truth of this statement: “A democracy can only work until people realize they can vote themselves a paycheck.” I believe Benjamin Franklin said that.

With vast new numbers of muslims (including jihadis) arriving, sanctuary cities, virtual amnesty, the encouragement of millions of illegals and granting them all drivers’ licenses in many states that automatically register them to vote, even though they are not U.S.citizens, the Left has ushered us over the tipping point, Some might call it a cliff. As of a couple of years ago, according to government-supplied statistics, 50% of Americans do not pay one cent in income taxes. Seems they prefer “free stuff” to working.

One thing the Left is exceptionally good at is getting out the voters they can count on voting democrat.

I doubt it was Benjamin Franklin, Quotha, since few people were paid by check at the time. This quote has also been attributed to de Tocqueville, but is probably inaccurate for the same reason.

But Alexander Tytler did have this to say in 1787:

“A democracy is always temporary in nature; it simply cannot exist as a permanent form of government. A democracy will continue to exist up until the time that voters discover that they can vote themselves generous gifts from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates who promise the most benefits from the public treasury, with the result that every democracy will finally collapse due to loose fiscal policy, which is always followed by a dictatorship”

I think the quote you cite is a pithier–and somewhat updated–expression of this same important idea.

Absolutely right! What you provide is a little expanded and expresses more of the concept and is probably the original source for my slicked up version. I think the version I used is just an updated and pithy distillation of Alexander T’s thought.

    The Main Purveyors of Islamophobia
    Written by Hillary Smith
    The Roots
The roots of Islamophobia in America can be traced to a small, well-funded and well-connected network of “misinformation experts” who use Islamophobia as a tool to promote the Israeli agenda here within the United States.
According to a research study conducted by the Center for American Progress entitled Fear, Inc., there are five key purveyors who manipulate Islamophobia to further the US’s support of Israel: Frank Gaffney of the Center for Security Policy, David Yerushalmi of the Society of Americans for National Existence, Daniel Pipes of the Middle East Forum, Robert Spencer of both Jihad Watch and Stop Islamization of America and Steven Emerson of the Investigative Project on Terrorism. American billionaire Sheldon Gary Adelson, terrorism “expert” Evan Kohlmann, journalist Jennifer Rubin, and Emergency Committee for Israel’s founding member, Rachel Abrams additionally contribute to this network.
    Steve Emerson
Arguably one of the most well known Islamophobes.
    Robert Spencer
Robert Spencer, Emerson’s contemporary and fellow Islamophobe, is another name associated with the deliberate spreading of Islamophobia in the United States.
    Frank Gaffney
Frank Gaffney, founder of the Center for Security Policy, is another influential purveyor of Islamophobia, and is most well known for his conspiratorial belief that Muslims are waging a “stealth jihad” against the United States, and Islam and Sharia Law are infiltrating American government and society with the intent of destroying the Constitution and the freedoms expressed therein.
    Rachel Abrams
Neoconservative activist and wife of former Secretary of State Elliot Abrams, Rachel Abrams, is one such likeminded thinker. She is one of three founding member of the Emergency Committee for Israel, a PAC who is dedicated to “committed to mounting an active defense of the US-Israel relationship
    David Yerushalmi
David Yerushalmi, a lawyer and the founder of the Society of Americans for National Existence (SANE), has rhetoric similar to Abrams and Rubin. Yerushalmi, according to the Anti-Defamation League, has a “record of anti-Muslim, anti-immigrant and anti-black bigotry,” having once described “blacks as the most murderous of peoples.” According to Yerushalmi, African Americans are a “murderous race, killing itself
    The Insidious Network
This seems to be the key to how the Islamophobic network operates within the United States, however, with the main purveyors of Islamophobia helping to legitimize the work of their colleagues, and creating multiple organizations with essentially the same purpose and leadership.
    Sheldon Adelson: Financier
One of the most famous contributors to help further the agenda of the Israeli lobby in the United States is American Billionaire Sheldon Gary Adelson. Adelson is the Chairman Chief Executive Officer of the Las Vegas Sands Corporation, the parent company of Venetian Macao Limited. A “self-professed Zionist,” Adelson gave approximately $25 million dollars to Birthright Israel, and $1 million in 2010 to Islamophobe Newt Gingrich’s American Solutions for Winning the Future. He has invested over $180 million dollars in Israel Hayom, an Israeli newspaper often referred to as “Bibiton,” because of its unwavering support of Benjamin Netanyahu. He has also traveled to Israel to promote a DVD warning about “spreading of Islam in the West,”

We like that.

So Robert Spencer is a “misinformation expert” funded by Israel? This Hilary Smith is telling me I am just being manipulated by reading Jihad Watch?

Dear Hilary Smith – I don’t think I can be manipulated quite so easily as you imagine, and I can tell the difference between misinformation and truth. And if Israeli money helps Robert to do the work that he does, than more power to him.

Misinformation stems from innuendo, false statistics, and reports derived from shady or non-existent sources. Everything Robert says is backed up by references and quotes from the Quran, Sunna, and Hadiths that anyone can verify. Most important, I have read dozens of blogs and watched endless videos by dozens of ex-Muslims who have much the same thing to say as Robert does.

Furthermore, if Islam is the way Robert says it is, this should be verifiable by simply observing the actions of Muslims around the world via primary trusted news sources. The reports from these sources abundantly verify the hideous nature of Islam.

Certainly there is much disinformation to be found on the internet, but Robert Spencer is not among the purveyors of misinformation.

Note *this* linguistic sleight-of-hand: if one opposes the systematic oppression of women and non-Muslims and the savagery of sex slavery, floggings, amputations, and stonings, then one is guilty of “Sharia’i Oppression”.

I guess the Allies were guilty of “Nazi Oppression” when they liberated the death camps…

      The Roots
The roots of Islamophobia in America can be traced to a small, well-funded and well-connected network of “misinformation experts” who use Islamophobia as a tool to promote the Israeli agenda here within the United States…
      ……………………………,

What absolute crap. The idea that opposing bloody Jihad and oppressive Shari’ah law is only the provenance of the “Israeli agenda” is absurd.

Shakir Mumtaz may be shocked to learn that many Infidels don’t actually want to be enslaved or murdered by his coreligionists.

Frank Gaffney, David Yerushalmi, Daniel Pipes, Robert Spencer and Steven Emerson are indeed giants of the fight against Jihad.

Hi Shakir, As a scientist I know that to get closer to the truth, one must make an evaluation of many points of view to avoid the “blind men and the elephant” parable. Anyway, the Hilary Smith article seems to say effectively: “There are many Israeli funded islamophobes out there and here are their names:” However, she does not give any information to support that claim.
My observations of Jihad Watch suggests that the posts made by Robert Spencer are essentially factual and most of what he says is verifiable by the Mainstream Medea or by the Holy Texts of Islam themselves. Do you have any information or references to show that the statements made by Robert Spencer are either counter factual or misleading?

Hilary Smith is most certainly not stupid, not ignorant, and is in fact a clever bender of the truth. Her article is well-written and excellent in its propaganda impact. We all know “Know your enemy and know yourself” Sun Tzu, and to that I might add: “respect your enemy and do not underestimate his (or her) capability”.

They cannot, will not, address the principle that no religion has ever, nor can be, founded by a pedophile, mass murderer, torturer, and one who tells women they can be raped at will, and be stoned dead for it, if they can’t find 4 men to testify they were actually raped. Who also tells women they are at most half the worth of a man, and are to be striped, for disobedience, and much else, that makes them nothing more than “herd breeders”.

Not cogently they can’t. That is the hallmark of a deceptive thug serving gang, clever, but still a gang, whose fraud god is a deceiver, the “best of deceivers”. There never has been an allah god, just an excuse for crime, only crime, nothing more, in actuality. An example of delusion, slight of hand and deceivers.

Thus merely another very bad gang, whose victims only need to wake up and realize the truth, and fight until they are destroyed, just as with nazis, thuggees, and aum shinrikyo evil cult-gang .They need to fight like Martel, Sobieski, and the hero of La Ponta.

Further, leaders and notables throughout the ages since its evil invention, have recognized the truth of evil about the gang, the greatest known names and many lesser ones in 1400 year of history, all recognize the same truth of evil, and they spoke “truth to evil” honestly, which is far more than the delusional and deceptive huffpro and nyt and the “lűgenpresse” will do in our lifetime! They don’t even know how to recognize evil, they so lack so much.

Let it be well understood, we the public victims, all, have the right and do retain the right, to hate the absolute pure psychotic hatred of the gang of islam, and fight them as exigencies require, as a nation, and as individuals, as we also well hate the delusional lack of learnedness, of rigorousness of preparation, of such as the pathetic individuals behind such deceptive excuses for operations as is huffpro.

Such individuals as behind huffpro, are invited to travel permanently, to the “57 islamic states”, where they no doubt will be hailed as equally delusional deceptive heroes, among their new “friends”?

Let huffpro females, (assuming there exist such) dare to justify this, and many worse countless related realities now and throughout real history, not marginalized and delusional history, which they have no doubt been raised upon.

Once we are deprived of our right to expose and hate Evil and are forced to be tolerant of intolerance, our end is near.

Part of the reason for the airbrushing of Islam is that good Liberals cannot bring themselves to believe that Muslimism is as evil and warped as it actually is. They prefer romantic wishful thinking to actually studying the books, strategy and actions of Muslims.

They overlook the fact that the “moderates” read the exact same words as the “extremists”, and those words are diabolical hate speech.

A little correction in my remarks, I misspelled La Panto, the battle, actually a major naval engagement of 1571, which is of such IMPORTANCE, that ALL should be aware of it, for several reasons, which I will not detail. As a consequence of that fact, (not the jerk college professor word ‘so’), I place a proper engagement summary here for everyone’s convenience. Source is notated, of course. Significance is explained, and of course remember, there were many other consequential battles against the evil gang of deceivers, but Martel-Tours, Sobieski-Vienna, and La Ponto were among the most consequential.

The Battle of Lepanto was a naval engagement taking place on 7 October 1571 in which a fleet of the Holy League, a coalition of European Catholic maritime states arranged by Pope Pius V and led by Spanish admiral Don Juan of Austria, decisively defeated the fleet of the Ottoman Empire on the northern edge of the Gulf of Corinth, off western Greece. The Ottoman forces sailing westwards from their naval station in Lepanto (Turkish: İnebahtı; Greek: Ναύπακτος or Έπαχτος Naupaktos or Épahtos) met the Holy League forces, which came from Messina, Sicily, where they had previously gathered.
THE VICTORY OF THE HOLY LEAGUE PREVENTED THE OTTOMAN EMPIRE FROM EXPANDING FURTHER ALONG THE EUROPEAN SIDE OF THE MEDITERRANEAN. Lepanto was the last major naval battle in the Mediterranean fought entirely between galleys and has been assigned great symbolic and historical importance by several historians.[9][10][11]

I went to college and learned that people had a right to be secure or feel a sense of security. This is what i think is called Hierarchy of needs ? I mean in reference of being able to develop in a home or land where you donot feel threatened. It is a natural instinct to protect yourself . If someone comes in your house to rob you most likely you will arm yourself to protect your self. I have no problem with someone coming to this country to be able to practice their religion the way they want too. This is what the constitution is for. Donot call me a racist because I donot want Sharia Law here. I believe in the rights of women and innocent children and my right to protect myself, I have a right to be secure in my home and school and country. I have a right to be free . I do not push my religion on you and donot expect it taught in school to my kids that is my responsibility I also think that if we loose the ability to speak our differences the terrorist have won. I am not afraid of islam and work with many Muslim their religion is their business. . CC, Tommy Robinson was head of the English Defense League for quite some time, and a stalwart Anti-Jihadist.

Unfortunately, after several unjust stints in jail, he seems have backpedaled considerably on his stand. I am sympathetic to what he has gone through but dismayed nonetheless.

As Paul notes, despite the changes Robinson has made in his stance, he is still a frequent target of Muslim violence.

        Here’s some background:

Thank you for the information on Tommy Robinson, graven! I had seen some videos months back when he was with the EDL. Something must have happened to him either by threats or whatever to make him change. I watched another video on Britain First, I believe, and they seem to be trying to keep the faith in their town of Luton. They were walking down the street with a large cross and many Muslims came out of their places of work joining other Muslims in the street basically attacking Britain First and the Muslims were screaming at them “Get out of our town”, etc. Very sad what’s becoming of Britain. Thanks again!

I can’t think of any other religion which would track bigoted comments. Don’t Muslims understand “Sticks and stones”? As far as actual hate crimes tracked by the FBI go, as I’ve noted before, hate crimes against Muslims did shoot up by maybe a factor of three from before 2001 to after 2001 (2001 itself was an outlier with an enormous number of anti-Muslim hate crimes, for regrettably obvious reasons), but even so, there is a fairly consistent ratio from 2002 on that a Jew is three times as likely as a Muslim to be the victim of a religiously motivated hate crime.

I was shocked that after talking to them for a while that they openly admitted to me that Islam considers women to be inferior and that it is OK to beat them–even though I’m a woman myself–and that Christians deserve to die for regarding Jesus as the Son of God. *Very* disturbing stuff.
