Exposing the role that Islamic jihad theology and ideology play in the modern global conflicts

Hugh Fitzgerald: “What Century Do They Live In?”

Feb 7, 2016 9:53 am By Hugh Fitzgerald

The U.N’s top migration official called German Chancellor Angela Merkel a hero on Friday, saying she had taken a principled stand to support refugees while some European leaders had failed a test of human decency.

Popular support for Merkel has tumbled to its lowest in 4 1/2 years, a poll showed on Wednesday, after 1.1 million migrants entered Germany last year. Mistrust of migrants grew after some were linked to sexual assaults on women during New Year’s Eve celebrations in Cologne.

“In my opinion Mrs Merkel is a hero,” Peter Sutherland, U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon’s special representative for international migration, told a news conference in Geneva.

“She knew it was a moral issue. She knew she was going to take political attack … with her popularity affected negatively as a result…

“Some have said we will take refugees ‘as long as they are Christian’. What century are they living in? What about the concepts of the dignity of the human being and the equality of man?” Sutherland asked…..

“The evidence is irrefutable. Migrants in general, and in every country in Europe, make greater fiscal contributions than they take in benefits. They’ve lower levels of unemployment and in general a greater interest in education.”

The European Union, with a substantial proportion of the global economy, had an obligation to help, [sic]

“Why can’t a continent that has over 500 million, living in the most prosperous part of the world, take in a million who come across the Mediterranean every year, and share them on the basis of fair allocation?” Sutherland asked. — Reuters, Feb. 5

sutherland_Peter Sutherland declares Angela Merkel a “hero” because she is ignoring the clear will of her own people (her “popular support has tumbled to an all-time low”) and has this year alone allowed, with a despot’s fiat, more than a million Muslims into their midst. Sutherland has long been an ardent fan of such immigration – back in 2012 he told a committee of the House of Lords that the European Community should “do its best to undermine the homogeneity” of its member states, and he deplored the fact that the UK was one of those countries whose people “nurse a sense of our homogeneity and difference from others. And that’s precisely what the European Union, in my view, should be doing its best to undermine.”

Peter Sutherland is outraged that Germans, or any Europeans, should be worried about Muslim migrants: “What century are they living in?”

Perhaps, in order to help answer that question, we might look at what is now widely known about the theory and practice of Islam, but that apparently has managed to escape the notice of Peter Sutherland, U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon’s special representative for international migration.

Islam is a faith whose adherents believe the Qur’an to be the Word of God, immutable and uncreated. The Qur’an tells them that they, as Muslims, are the “best of peoples” (3:110), and that Unbelievers are “the most vile of created beings” (98:6). The Qur’an tells them over and over that they are to “fight in the way of Allah” against the Unbelievers, in order to spread Islam, that the “punishment of those who wage war against Allah and His apostle and strive to make mischief in the land is only this, that they should be murdered or crucified or their hands and their feet should be cut off on opposite sides or they should be imprisoned,” (5:33) that they should “fight those who do not believe in Allah…nor follow the religion of truth, out of those who have been given the Book, until they pay the tax in acknowledgment of superiority and they are in a state of subjection” (9:29). Allah “will cast terror into the hearts of those who disbelieve. Therefore strike off their heads and strike off every fingertip of them” (8:60).

There are more than 160 such “jihad verses” in the Qur’an, all of them commanding Muslims to engage in Jihad against Unbelievers, to kill them or, if they agree to submit to Allah and become Muslims to spare them, or — if they are Christians or Jews — agree to submit to a crushing host of economic and social disabilities, most notably the head-tax known as the Jizyah. These verses are all variations on the same aggressive theme, and should worry any sensible non-Muslim not in thrall, as Peter Sutherland and Angela Merkel are, to feelgood denial.

But perhaps Peter Sutherland needs still more evidence, and would benefit not just from the handful I’ve quoted above, but from an expanded list of such Jihad verses:

Allah is an enemy to unbelievers. – Sura 2:98

On unbelievers is the curse of Allah. – Sura 2:161

Slay them wherever ye find them and drive them out of the places whence they drove you out, for persecution is worse than slaughter. –Sura 2:191

Fight against them until idolatry is no more and Allah’s religion reigns supreme. – Sura 2:193

Fighting is obligatory for you, much as you dislike it. – Sura 2:216

If you should die or be killed in the cause of Allah, His mercy and forgiveness would surely be better than all they riches they amass. If you should die or be killed, before Him you shall all be gathered. – Sura 3:157-8

You must not think that those who were slain in the cause of Allah are dead. They are alive, and well-provided for by their Lord. – Surah 3:169-71

Let those fight in the cause of God who sell the life of this world for the hereafter. To him who fights in the cause of God, whether he is slain or victorious, soon we shall give him a great reward. – Sura 4:74

Those who believe fight in the cause of God, and those who reject faith fight in the cause of evil. – Sura 4:76

But if they turn renegades, seize them and slay them wherever you find them. – Sura 4:89

Therefore, we stirred among them enmity and hatred, which shall endure till the Day of Resurrection, when Allah will declare to them all that they have done. – Sura 5:14

O believers, take not Jews and Christians as friends; they are friends of each other. Those of you who make them his friends is one of them. God does not guide an unjust people. – Sura 5:54

Make war on them until idolatry is no more and Allah’s religion reigns supreme – Sura 8:39

O Prophet! Exhort the believers to fight. If there are 20 steadfast men among you, they shall vanquish 200; and if there are a hundred, they shall rout a thousand unbelievers, for they are devoid of understanding. – Sura 8:65

It is not for any Prophet to have captives until he has made slaughter in the land. – Sura 8:67

Allah will humble the unbelievers. Allah and His apostle are free from obligations to idol-worshipers. Proclaim a woeful punishment to the unbelievers. – Sura 9:2-3

When the sacred months are over, slay the idolaters wherever you find them. Arrest them, besiege them, and lie in ambush everywhere for them. –Sura 9:5

Believers! Know that idolators are unclean. –Sura 9:28

Fight those who believe neither in God nor the Last Day, nor what has been forbidden by God and his messenger, nor acknowledge the religion of Truth, even if they are People of the Book, until they pay the tribute and have been humbled. –Sura 9:29

Whether unarmed or well-equipped, march on and fight for the cause of Allah, with your wealth and your persons. – Sura 9:41

O Prophet! Make war on the unbelievers and the hypocrites. Be harsh with them. Their ultimate abode is hell, a hapless journey’s end. – Sura 9:73

Allah has purchased of their faithful lives and worldly goods, and in return has promised them the Garden. They will fight for His cause, kill and be killed. – Sura 9:111

Believers! Make war on the infidels who dwell around you. Let them find harshness in you. Sura 9.123

As for those who are slain in the cause of Allah, He will not allow their works to perish. He will vouchsafe them guidance and ennoble their state; He will admit them to the Paradise He has made known to them. – Sura 10:4-15

Allah has cursed the unbelievers and proposed for them a blazing hell. – Sura 33:60

Unbelievers are enemies of Allah and they will roast in hell. – Sura 41:14

When you meet the unbelievers, smite their necks, then when you have made wide slaughter among them, tie fast the bonds, then set them free, either by grace or ransom, until the war lays down its burdens. – Sura 47:4

Those who are slain in the way of Allah – he will never let their deeds be lost. Soon will he guide them and improve their condition, and admit them to the Garden, which he has announced for them. – Sura 47:5

Muslims are harsh against the unbelievers, merciful to one another. – Sura 48:25

Muhammad is Allah’s apostle. Those who follow him are ruthless to the unbelievers but merciful to one another. Through them, Allah seeks to enrage the unbelievers. – Sura 48:29

Prophet! Make war on the unbelievers and the hypocrites and deal sternly with them. The unbelievers among the People of the Book and the pagans shall burn forever in the fire of hell. They are the vilest of all creatures. – 98:5-6

This florilegium of violence and fanaticism is sufficient, I think, to convey to most people what the Qur’an teaches and what dutiful Muslims believe. But Peter Sutherland is not most people.

In addition to the Qur’an, the other great source of textual authority in Islam consists of the Hadith (reports of what Muhammad said and did, a kind of supplement to, or gloss on, the Qur’an) and the Sira (the biography of Muhammad). What comfort can Peter Sutherland take from the picture they paint of Muhammad? Muslims are presented with a Muhammad whom they consider to be the Perfect Man (al-insan al-kamil), and the Model of Conduct (uswa hasana). This “Perfect Man” watched the beheading, after the Battle of the Trench in Medina, of some 600-900 bound prisoners of the Banu Qurayza, ordered the killing of a 105-year-old man, Abu Afak, who had lampooned him, called for the assassination (“who will rid me of Marwan’s daughter?”) of a poetess, Asma bint Marwan, who had spoken out against the death of Abu Afak, took as a sex slave a Jewish girl whose father, husband, and brother he had just had killed at Khaybar, and having had little Aisha betrothed to him when she was six, consummated the marriage when she was all of nine. With all this and more, for Muslims he remains the Perfect Man, the Model of Conduct.

And it is not just the behavior of that “exemplary” figure Muhammad that disturbs non-Muslims. Also disturbing has been the behavior of Muslims toward non-Muslims, as they followed Muhammad’s example. What does Peter Sutherland make of the conquest of so many non-Muslim lands, and subjugation of non-Muslim peoples, over the centuries? What does he make of the votaries of the Islamic State, of Al Qaeda, of the Muslim Brotherhood today? Are they all “unrepresentative” Muslims, “perverting” the faith, having “nothing to do with the real Islam,” as Obama, Kerry, and other panicky politicians like to insist?

Why does Peter Sutherland think Germans should welcome into their midst another million Muslims? Is Germany simply a land area open to all, without distinction, who manage to arrive? Many Germans have finally grasped the Qur’anic injunction for Muslims to conduct Jihad against Infidels such as themselves. Why should they be expected to share Merkel’s “heroism” — which is how Sutherland characterizes her wish to open wide the gates of welcome to still more Muslims?

Peter Sutherland asks, in rhetorical outrage, “Some have said we will take refugees ‘as long as they are Christian’. What century are they living in? What about the concepts of the dignity of the human being and the equality of man?”

What “dignity of the human being” has he noticed in any Muslim country? And where in the world do Muslims consider Unbelievers to be their “equals” and treat them as such?

And when Sutherland asks “What century are they living in” of those Europeans who want to take in only Christian refugees, one could answer: why, this century, of course, the century in which Muslims are on the march again, posing a greater threat to Europe than at any time since the Siege of Vienna in 1683. That’s the “century they are living in.” It’s the century in which Muslims have been allowed to settle in Europe, by the millions, deep behind what they are taught to regard as enemy lines, the lines of Dar al-Harb. It’s the century when Muslims are laying siege to European civilization from within, through the newest form of Jihad, demographic conquest. That’s the kind of “century they (the non-Muslims) are living in.”

Finally, the last arrow in Peter Sutherland’s tendentious quiver:

“The evidence is irrefutable. Migrants in general, and in every country in Europe, make greater fiscal contributions than they take in benefits. They’ve lower levels of unemployment and in general a greater interest in education.”

The evidence may be “irrefutable,” but where is it? Sutherland doesn’t produce it; I haven’t been able to find any such evidence anywhere online. I suspect that the phrase “in general” was included in order that Sutherland might lump together the Muslim migrants who, upon entering Schengenland, are known to head for Germany and the Scandinavian countries, where the welfare-state benefits are most generous, with other, non-Muslim migrants from outside Europe of a different make-up, including the industrious Chinese and (Hindu) Indians. And many of the migrants in Europe are people moving from one European country to another, in search of better work opportunities, such as the Polish plumber who now plies his trade in London, or the Frenchman who opens a restaurant in Copenhagen, or the Greek who has a shoe-repair shop in Paris.

Instead of Sutherland’s soothing allusion to “migrants in general,” we have a right to ask him for a breakdown, according to whether the migrants are Muslim or non-Muslim, providing the amounts each group receives in total benefits (housing, health, education) from European welfare states, about their “fiscal contributions” (taxes), about their levels of unemployment, about their respective demonstrations of “interest in education.” Shelter, welfare, and integration for these Muslim migrants to Germany alone, the country currently of most concern to Mr. Sutherland, will cost that country’s taxpayers a total of 50 billion Euros over the next two years.

And aside from the costs of shelter, welfare, and integration, there are the costs of Muslim crime, and of Muslim terror. It is well known that in European countries, Muslim rates of criminality far exceed those of the non-Muslim population (one startling example: Muslim males make up 2% of Sweden’s population but are responsible for more than 77% of the country’s rapes, and you can find similar statistics for other crimes by Muslims in other countries). Police, judges, jails all cost money. Then there are the costs for monitoring mosques, for providing security to places that have already been targets of Muslim attacks, such as nightclubs, restaurants, newspaper offices, churches and synagogues, metro and bus stations, airports, kosher markets, government offices, a list that grows ever longer.

The more Germans and other Europeans find out about Islam’s texts and teachings, and take in the behavior of Muslims in Europe, and grasp the size of the burden Muslim migrants place on their society, the more they will be outraged by feckless Peter Sutherland, U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon’s special representative for international migrations. He has set himself up as dispenser of the Higher Morality In Defense of Muslim Migration. Subjected to his bullying bomfoggery, Germans will beg to grimly differ and when election time comes, one hopes they will suitably reward his “hero” Chancellor Merkel for her heedless “heroism.”

Well done. You state the case clearly. That’s what I call leadership.
But those who are pro-Muslim read this same logic and skillfully manipulate it to confuse the neutrals.
It is cognitive dissonance at its most extreme.

Logically, how does one counter this?
    Teach me.
How does one take a logically sound statement and flip it??
I suspect that every imam has learned to do this in their “seminaries”.

I think it’s because the left views all religions as bad, and is so ignorant of religion that they have no idea that mohammedanism is unique in its exhortation to evil behavior.

When you live in a leftist bubble, it’s easy to ignore what’s going on outside. I bet the UN rep has not had any close encounters with the rape-ugees.

These bastards that are leaving the western country’s in ruin want to dictate to us how to think, change our culture and have complete control over us. These people live in palaces and do not see the everyday lives most of us have to endure. The day will come that these people will be tried the same way as Nazi war criminals because what they are doing is no different.

The answer is simple, the UN and the leaders of our country’s are no longer responding to the will of the people. There is a clear process at work here and it is to reshape the world into one monotonous blob. What has happened is most country’s are so large that we as individuals no longer have any control over our lives and as individuals we can not exert enough pressure to change this progression. We will be taken out one at a time, this is the basis for the Trump rise he is wealthy enough to stand as long as we the people rally around him and we grow together and our united mass is too great for the globalist to overcome coming together is our strength.
We are living in a very dangerous and life altering time we either stick to what has allowed us to survive and grow or we will lose everything and turn into something we can’t even imagine.
The billionaires of today are the tyrants, dictators and kings of yesterday you see the tighening control expanding on a daily basis and you must decide how you want to live. Either we come together or we fail but the time is now. Currently we are mainly called names in an attempt to keep you quiet to keep your head down while the plan proceeds but you can see more and more violent attacks coming and the pressure is growing but you must really understand that the number of those against our civil society are really quite small but the message is constant and everywhere you look so it appears to be larger than it is.
We must stay with the beliefs that have gotten us to this point.
Remember diversity of thought is the danger. Ten people who believe ten different things will never come together they will always be fractured and have friction and that is what allows us to be controlled by a small force. Sovereignty is what has allowed us to succeed people who believe in the same things can get along and build on that core belief to become great America had that core belief and it took time to build it but that core is slipping away others no longer assimilate but stay on the fringes until they believe their numbers are great enough to influence change in their direction and the distruction of our core beliefs are complete.

Yes migrants can bring great contributions but how. Firstly they have to come to their new country to work. Their religion has to be compatible to the Western religion and must embrace their new way of life to the new host countries. The old types of refugies did nit receive welfare in most countries but grew by working hard. What we see here the refugees are receiving housing, cash handouts and are the complete opposite of the original refugees from other EG eastern European countries of the past. Now the UN is flooding people from countries which Rape, murder, steel which is everything opposing the 10 commandments. Shame on you UN

No one seems to comprehend that this is part of a global conspiracy designed to take over the world. OPEC is now flooding the market with oil to artificially depress the price of crude. North Dakota crude oil production, #2 in the country, has ground to a halt. It moved from #5 to #2 position with the introduction of fracking or hydraulic cracking of rock [sheer genius] to extract massive volumes of crude and natural gas.

All the financing for that equipment is being defaulted upon and the workers are moving elsewhere to take up residence performing much lower paying jobs. Those companies are going bankrupt and closing their doors. Sure gasoline is currently cheap [spot price NY harbor Friday was $0.99 per gallon] but it is an economic disaster for our country.

Soon, we will no longer be producing crude oil, as it costs approx. $40.00 per barrel to remove from the ground and to transport to a local hub. Spot price Friday for crude oil was $30.89 per barrel. How long could you afford to go to your job, if they paid you $200 per day and it cost you $300 per day to go to work? Oil producers simply cannot lose $10 per barrel on production. Many producers generate 10,000 barrels per day. Do the math $10 times 10,000 equals a $100,000 per day lose!!! That is about our average college educated professional salary per year. I’ll tie this together after the next paragraph.

Now, back to the logistical situation. There is a Muslim conspiracy to integrate average Muslims into mainstream society across Europe and America to initiate a social familiarization. Once ingratiated into society, they can gain economic power, voting ability, political status, private BANKING, and population density.

Once, settled into Western civilization, OPEC plans on shutting off the oil tap [remember the law of supply/demand] and raising the price of oil to $300 per barrel, an order of magnitude. Refer to the previous paragraph about banking. Muslims will be protected through their close social infrastructure by funding by OPEC to Muslim banks being distributed to them by their mosques.

We will see an economic collapse of the outsiders [non-Muslims] and a rise of Muslim power. Money buys political power. The mosques are political and economic centrally located power houses that can also be strongholds for guns and ammunition. No one is allowed to inspect them , as they are protected under the First Amendment.

Democrats support Muslims; what else do Democrats support? Of yeah, gun control registration and confiscation. Adolf Hitler did it [registration] and then confiscated all the weapons for two important reasons. One was to prevent social uprising and two to arm his troops without much cost.

Oil price skyrockets, economic collapse soon follows, the sheep have no weapons, Muslims have money, power and weapons. Get the picture yet?????????????????????

That specific predatory pricing discussion, as eloquent as it was, only applies to free market pricing for goods. Crude oil is a commodity indexed at a globally set price and as such, that price is common in every country. His theory of predatory pricing does not apply to crude oil.

This economics guy is full of baloney.

His argument that he is right is principally based on his claim that there is no evidence to the contrary. Not a logical argument for a single speaker.

When Wal-Mart came into town it was in competition with a sewing goods store that had a wide variety of products. Wal-Mart had an almost equal variety of products which it priced lower and the competitor went out of business. After the competitor was gone, Wal-Mart narrowed its inventory. No sewing goods store has re-emerged because it was a specialty market and, frankly, there aren’t enough motivated entrepreneurs to fill the gap.

Wal-Mart is in competition with more that just Kmart and Target. Every small business owner knows that.

The fact that the Saudi’s are burning through cash reserves in the billions, while struggling to make the payments which have kept their citizens obedient is clear evidence they are underpricing their oil. Bbusinesses in North America are closing down, and the Saudi’s are afraid of Iranian oil income. The economic wars are raging.

Having just countered this speaker with a specific real-life example, I guess he’s left to admit that he was wrong.

          Arthur,

I agree with your analysis. His theory that predatory pricing is not a genuine phenomenon is based on false logic. Oil, just like gold, silver, platinum, palladium, copper, etc is a set indexed price. Gold sells for $1,175.40/ounce [today’s price] in Chicago, as it does in New York, London, Moscow, Paris, and Dubai.

If I am a gold producer and have sole access to a multi-trillion dollar deposit, I could flood the market with gold and lower it’s price to $100/ounce, if I desired. Same thing with OPEC. Also, I firmly believe that Iran is being positively influenced into the equation to further depress the crude oil market pricing. This is the essence of supply and demand.

Here we have two variables which are causing a lowering of crude oil prices: demand, which is weak due to economic downturns, less driving and more fuel efficient vehicles. And supply, which is overwhelmingly high, as witnessed by a glut of oil from OPEC, Iran, Russia, and global suppliers.

Back to that gold producer. Why would I want to flood the market with gold to lower the price, other than to displace my competitors or dominate the world. This is the OPEC/Muslim plan.

Muslims, closet Muslims and super liberal Democrats want Islam to rule the world. All it requires is for good men/women to standby and do nothing!

Tom, you got it, go to: http://www.cnbc.com/2015/07/17/the-worlds-biggest-sovereign-wealth-funds.html

The gulf states are holding currently approx 4 trillion dollars in national sovereign wealth funds. That’s money coming in, constant cash, in the form of capital repaid or dividends/interest. US foreign debt ~18 trillion, EU foreign debt ~ 16 trillion. That’s constantly outgoing cash, interest on serving debt, dividends on (controlling thus additional lobby power) shares and outgoing capital.

Driving prices down, I have been a crude oil broker for twenty years. In the mid eighties the Saudis were upset about the high prices. Brent (North Sea UK) hit about $60.00bbl. They opened the tap. Within 6 months they drove the price down to $30.00 – brutally so. Neither in Europe nor the US was there ANY storage space left. We stored on tankers, as floating storage, VLCCs to ULCCs, that means a tanker up to 2.5 million tonnes.

The evidence is irrefutable. Migrants in general, and in every country in Europe, make greater fiscal contributions than they take in benefits. They’ve lower levels of unemployment and in general a greater interest in education.

This sounds like the Global Warming zealots insisting that AGW is settled science. Fraud posed as obvious fact so apparent that it’s a moral crime to question it. Meanwhile, we’re nearing 19 straight years of global cooling and there’s an epidemic of Moslem-on-white girl gang rape in Europe.

Show me the numbers where these illiterate welfare mooches enrich the economies of their host nations. Show me how the presence of a million new “Germans” is lowering unemployment and enhancing education.

Oh, never mind. Nobody checks facts anymore. The piety of feels real good has replaced the good of seeing reality as it is. Fictive reality has taken over, and there is big trouble on the horizon. The trouble is already here, but it is now much smaller than it will certainly be in a few years.

These are not the skilled migrants of 20-40 years ago who became professionals in Europe and the EU. So Sutherland’s claim of net economic gain from migrants is outdated. And that low employment rate? That would mean more natives out of work, taken by migrants.

The UN would give every European nation AIDS, as in, “Pass the Kool-Aid”

The irrefutable evidence is: The group of any reasonably free nation that is over-represented in criminal statistics is also a lower per-person contributor of taxes and a greater user of state benefits than the general population. I stand corrected if anyone can find a free nation where this is false.

What groups in Europe have the highest crime rates? And Europe should want more?

Mr. Sutherland should demonstrate his sincerity by taking a few migrants into his home and hiring a few on his personal staff. Being of the elite class, his prescriptions are for you, not for Dr. Sutherland.

It is obvious to them that bringing 60 million Meso-American aboriginals into the country will result in higher employment at increased wages. Makes sense. In the United States, the most famous indulger in Bomfoggery was the priapic plutocrat, and non-Catholic, Nelson Rockefeller. The notion long ago became a fixed formula, thixotropically treacly, the rhetorical maple syrup on the pancakes at the pancake breakfast to which the politician dutifully shows up, amd where he says a few words about This Great Land Of Ours, and about the Brotherhood of Man and the Fatherhood of God, and extends his hand to as many well-wishers as he can reach, asking each of them “hi, how ya doin’” before going in for the but-enough-about-everything-else-what-about-me kill: “I’m X, and I’d like your vote.””

I did very well in electronics theory and the textbook design problems. I remember my first attempt at electronic design. It looked reasonable on paper but then, after building and testing the design, I found there were factors that had been overlooked. Those factors were remembered in subsequent designs which continued to improve.

Peter Sutherland is a social engineer who thinks he has a grasp on integrating a massive migration of Muslims into Western society when: He has no personal success at doing such, and, can cite no example of it ever being achieved while examples abound of the chaos it creates for previously stable societies.

Changing society on this level is not like civil engineering. It cannot be undone, disassembled, or revised when it doesn’t work correctly. Injecting Islam into Europe is incredibly dangerous, more like letting a virus out of a lab and hoping it isn’t too pathological.

Mr. Sutherland is an insider of the world’s self-imagined elite who have every intention of directing the future of humanity. Make no mistake, it contains no religion-based intent nor considers any religion to be true. Erasing national and religious identity is a first priority to establishing world government. Forcing cultures together speeds up the process. The formation of the EU, for economic reasons, was a step in the direction of erasing nations; which now limits the ability of member states to resist forced migrant quotas mandated from Brussels.

This is the time of decision for the nations of Europe to keep their identity or lose it. Follow Mr. Southerland’s, the UN, and the EU demands and the results cannot be undone.

If someone wonder from where Peter Sutherland, U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon’s special representative for international migration, gets his facts and opinions about Muslim migration the answer could be from Alexander Betts, the learned Professor of Forced Migration and International Affairs at the University of Oxford, where he is also Director of the Refugee Studies Centre.

Let me quote a few paragraphs from the latest paper by Professor Betts:

“ … Can a Europe of 28 member states share responsibility for a smaller number of refugees than is currently in Lebanon alone? Of course it can. In fact, most European countries need the labor.

The elephant in the room is an underlying Islamophobia. The simple fact is that European member states don’t really want to welcome Muslim migrants. This has been explicit in the case of countries with vocal far-right parties and in central European countries with Christian nationalist governments. But the liberal political elites of Western Europe have steered clear of admitting that the biggest single barrier to coherent asylum and immigration policies is public anxiety about Islam. Far-right parties have pandered to these fears, stoking xenophobia. For the most part, though, people across the rest of the political spectrum have remained silent on the topic.

… It has historically been able to cope well with large influxes of refugees. Throughout the Cold War, for example, millions of people moved from Eastern Europe to Western Europe, fleeing communism. Europe then resettled hundreds of thousands of Vietnamese refugees in the 1980s and 1990s. It even took large numbers of migrants from Bosnia and Kosovo in the 1990s, including many Muslims—but this was before Islam became politically toxic. …

Statistically, there is no greater likelihood that refugees will be involved in terrorism or crime than the general populations. But perception matters. Germany’s open immigration “experiment” is already under threat from a familiar pattern: a negative incident occurs that implicates refugees, the media pounces, the far right mobilizes, and the center-right shifts inches closer toward tightening borders. …
Europe’s politicians have failed to articulate a vision for how its populations should think about Islam in Europe. …

The last difficult question that Europeans might ask is: Is Islam compatible with liberal values? Generally, yes. In formulating policy, European leaders would be wise not to see Islam as incompatible with liberalism but to work with religious leaders to ensure that it isn’t.

Questions of migration management and integration policy are valid social concerns, but they must be addressed through informed and rational debate. Against a backdrop of incoherent and muddled thinking, Europe needs a new centrist politics. It must be grounded in liberalism, transcending both the xenophobia of the far right and the moral relativism of the far left. The center’s strength depends on its ability to show practical ways to navigate Europe’s emerging politics of fear. Only then will Europe be able to openly and honestly grapple with how to engage with refugees and migration in a changing world.”

(Quoted from article in Foreign Affairs, 2, February, 2016).

That is pure political science folks. If you disagree you are probably a stupid islamophobe who knows nothing of Islam, economy and international affairs. 😉

A few years ago, he testified in the House of Commons that the EU should “do its best to undermine the homogeneity of its member states through mass migration” and castigated the EU for not exploiting the Arab Spring to create a unified EU-North Africa common market. What you see happening in Europe is not spontaneous but the result of a master plan by Western elites. The wishes of ordinary Europeans are irrelevant for these people and will remain so until the Western people rise up and show these people what democracy means.

There is no conspiracy – the elites are totally open about wanting open borders. The Wall Street Journal for decades has been pushing a five-word constitutional amendment “There shall be open borders.” That would also mean eliminating social security, medicare, medicaid, and all other social programs, but the WSJ won’t tell you that unless you push them on it. At the other end of the political spectrum, George Soros has been openly funding open borders groups. A lot of these blonde bimbos waving “Refugees welcome” signs in Germany are apparently paid by Soros’s front groups.
This is why the old categories of “conservatives” and “liberals” no longer make any sense – the real distinction is between Nationalists and Internationalists, as Marine Le Pen correctly points out. Which side do you think Goldman-Sachs, the Bilderberg group, the UN, George Soros, the Davos crowd, the WSJ, cultural Marxists and others of their ilk are on?

Excellent article, Mr. Fitzgerald, thank you.
Peter Sutherland is UN Special Representative on Migration, and was responsible for for promoting the establishment of the Global Forum on Migration and Development. Note the bossy conjunction of Migration with Development, an association that is questionable, to say the least, when applied to muslim migration. As stated above, by Janwaar Bibi, Sutherland wants the EU to “undermine the homogeneity” of Europe’s nation states. That is the kind of “Development” he has in mind.

Peter Sutherland is like a Quack Doctor of the Wild West, peddling fake medicines to a public he hopes is uninformed (as most are). He is not just “reckless”, he is tainted: he is the Paid Migration Promoter of the Islam-dominated UN.

Exactly. Sutherland is a real dipstick, another of these wealthy socialists who are trying to force their beliefs in multiculturalism on others. Of course, pratts like him do not live or come into contact with such migrants and can afford to preach to the masses, secure in the knowledge that their wonderful lifestyles will continue despite the dangers they cause to other less fortunate citizens. This is also the man who wants to force East European countries to take in their “share” of migrants so that they can experience the wonderful “benefits” of multiculturalism.

EU should ‘undermine national homogeneity’ says UN migration chief (Sutherland)

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-18519395

There are sleights of hand involved in portraying non-EU migrants as a benefit to the economy.
Any incomers will increase overall GDP, but not per capita GDP. In the UK, we now include estimated proceeds of illegal activities (drugs, prostitution, etc.) in GDP !

EU migrants are actually a net benefit to the economy, but non-EU migrants remain a cost. When a country is as small and overcrowded as England, with a population density twice that of Pakistan and roughly equivalent to that of India, then any migrants are unwelcome. Muslims are expanding their population at twice the rate of any other group and are also over-represented in the prison population.

Where are the women? Men and muslim men are the overwhelming majority of those coming to Europe. Neither the EU nor the UN and of course not the Muslim brotherhood, the League of arabstates or the AU seem to care. There is not mentioning of islamophoby then.
Sutherland is a terrible man and islamophile. Who helps the women? So is Ban Ki Moon. Calling himself a refugee.
Neither of the two care about the future of Europe and the U.S.A. They are digging Europe´s and U.S.A.´s graves. The new scourge of Europe and the civilized world.
There are some 800 million in Africa and twice as many around 2050 and some 4 billion qround 2100. Thus they – with the logic of mr Sutherland – are able of taking care of their own. Especially since they can afford building that many mosques the one after the other endlessly in Europe and the U.S.A..
Neither muslims nor islam took part in or were needed to build neither Irland or the rest of Europe. They are not needed now either. Instead they could form an army and fight for freedom and oppressors in their own countries. Instead of taking advantage of Europe and the U.S.A.

Quite right, RP. They are cowards, the lot of them. Leaving their wives and children in unsafe, failed countries and travelling to safe countries themselves. And they dare call themselves ‘men’! They are so stupid to believe the lies they are told about the welfare countries and that goes to show their level of intelligence: zero! They have been sent to rid the world of white folks and all this is scripted and edited by our enemies.

Nothing seems to be strong enough to change the islamophiles in Europe. There are lots in the EU and different countries. Like Merkel and Sutherland.
They are totally blind, not caring about criticism or reality. Following their tenets more fanatic than any SS-officer, communist-commissar or jesuit during the dark days of witchhunt and the inquisition.
There are traditions in Europe. As in the muslim world.

I *love* this bit. “Shame on you! What about the dignity of the human being? Plus, migrants means money”. Not only is this a perfect example of hypocrisy, it also encapsulates the dishonesty regarding the whole “Syrian” “refugees” issue: it’s not that people are anti-refugee or anti-migration, they just don’t want hundreds of thousand, if not millions, of people whose values are diametrically opposed to their own in their country. And rather than addressing that there area cultures whose values are incompatible with Western core values, Fatty McBoomBoom over here (who, I suspect, lives nowhere near any place housing “Syrian” “refugees”) simply goes on to talk about “migrants” in general. “Migrants in general, and in every country in Europe”? He’s conflating, for example, Brazilians working in Portugal or Germans working in Austria with, for example, Pakistanis leeching welfare in the UK. Yeah, the overall balance may be positive so far (and he, of course, offers nothing to substantiate his claim), but the sleight-of-hand is obvious.

Mr. Fitzgerald worded the point I was trying to make much better than me – gotta lose the habit of prematurely posting, but sometimes someone says something so blatantly wrong or stupid I just stop reading and react immediately.

“… some European leaders had failed a test of human decency…”

Those who have failed the ‘test of human decency’ are those who have travelled to Europe to trample on our womenfolk and children. This is why they must be booted out and quickly. The well heeled Frau Merkels of this world have the connections and resources to migrate to Argentina or elsewhere when life gets too unpleasant in Europe, but the ordinary citizenry are stuck with whatever comes their way.

“What century are they living in? What about the concepts of the dignity of the human being and the equality of man?” Sutherland asked…..

They are living in the 7th century, with the values and culture of some of the least civilized geographical areas from those times.

The “concepts of the dignity of the human being and the equality of man” – look to the French Revolution, the secular Age of Enlightenment and the development of progressive, modern, democratic cultures of the late 18th, 19th, 20th and now 21st centuries in Western Civilization and beyond.

If those with 7th century values won’t civilize themselves then it is our responsibility to civilize them for their own sake if they want to live in our measurably more civilized societies. If they want us to become more barbaric like they are then they will seriously regret it.

To “caro”: Yes! You are absolutely right. And just about everyone contributing to these postings has offered much in the way of wisdom.

For most of my adult life, I have resisted conspiracy theories, but now in my old age I am no longer so sure. The conspiracy notion of a vast, multi-cultural trading bloc called “Eurabia” is making more and more sense.

The political and economic elites in Berlin, Brussels, London and Paris seem clearly intent on reshaping the world closer to a “one world government”.

Evidence for this is obvious and everywhere. Here in Europe, any affirmation of national sovereignty or nationalism, however benign, is swiftly denounced. Nations like Poland and Hungary are threatened with economic sanctions and any opposing views are labeled “right-wing extremist”, neo-Nazi, fascist, racist, etc. etc. ad nauseum.

What many outside of Europe might not realize is that a growing number of people in Germany, Sweden, Hungary and Finland and elsewhere are seeing the salvation of Europe in Russia. I for one, despite not liking every single thing about Vladimir Putin, would welcome the hard-nosed, common sense and “real politik” of Putin over almost any other European leader today. The Russian people would NEVER tolerate the nonsense (i.e. from the so-called “migrants”) that many Europeans and Brits seem wiling to accept.

And I say “To the dogs!” with traitors like Merkel, Hollande and Obama. Give me Viktor Orban, Jimmie Åkesson or Vladimir Putin any day!

The thing that I remember is New Year’s “taharrush” by those rapefugees.
Anyone defending this, is a cruel accomplice to the rape of hundreds of women!!

    http://www.gatestoneinstitute.org/7219/geert-wilders-taharrush-sexual-assault
    “taharrush”
“Cultural enrichment” has brought us a new word: Taharrush. Remember it well, because we are going to have to deal with it a lot. Taharrush is the Arabic word for the phenomenon whereby women are encircled by groups of men and sexually harassed, assaulted, groped, raped. After the Cologne taharrush on New Year’s Eve, many German women bought pepper spray. Who can blame them?

A culture that has a specific word for sexual assaults of women by groups of men is a danger to all women. The existence of the word indicates that the phenomenon is widespread. Frau Merkel, Prime Minister Rutte and all the other open-door politicians could and should have known this.

      Feb 8, 2016 at 9:30 pm

Did you hear what happened in Murmansk? Some 30-40 rapefugees attempted a Taharrush attack at some club there. The locals didn’t take kindly to their women being sexually assaulted as you might imagine. About 30 of the rapefugees ended up in hospital , with some apparently suffering some serious injuries thanks to good olde fashioned clubs. Perhaps the Taharrush enthusiasts didn’t realize Murmansk is most definitively not Cologne. Lol!

There is so much reporting around about the economic value of migrants that i’m surprised a UN official has the brass neck to suggest it is beneficial.
A German social worker said in her experience about 1 in 10 migrants has the ability to transition into worthwhile and productive citizenship.
A health worker in Germany stated that refugees had about 1 billion Euro worth of dental problems that must be addressed.
Even working migrants remit any surplus after basic living costs to their home country. The money doesn’t circulate and bring wealth the the host country.
Many migrants in Germany who are placed in adult apprenticeships, quit because they feel the work is beneath them. (Accepting unemployment and housing benefits isn’t though).
Countries with developed social welfare programmes require a ‘social contract’ for it to work.
Having a finite group of taxpayers and an infinite group of recipients leads to the curtailing of benefits to ALL or increased taxes or both. The contract falls apart.

    • Alex says

      Feb 8, 2016 at 10:32 pm

An excellent comment. I am also concerned about the breakdown of the social contract (it was already under strain in Europe as a number of citizens have found that they can receive more money by not working) as a high percentage of these recent migrants have been described as functionally illiterate. Unfortunately younger Europeans do not seem to appreciate what this will mean for their own well-being in the future.

  46. Alan Smith says

Westman—–good point ! Immigrants in the past did contribute to the economy but they were European and they were skilled or highly educated and—-perhaps most significant of all—they were imbued with the work ethic. As Alex points out many new immigrants from the developed World simply collect welfare and have no incentive to work.
