Exposing the role that Islamic jihad theology and ideology play in the modern global conflicts

Imam Kerry pronounces takfir on the Islamic State, says they’re “apostates”

Feb 2, 2016 6:04 pm By Robert Spencer

It would be refreshing if Kerry would open his well-thumbed Qur’an and explain to us exactly how the Islamic State has “hijacked” Islam. One wonders also why religion hijackers seem so exclusively drawn to Islam, as there are no notable attempts to hijack Christianity or Judaism.

JOHN KERRY-STATE DEPARTMENT-AP-JOHN DHARAPAK_0

“Kerry brands ISIS ‘apostates,'” Agence France Presse, February 2, 2016:

ROME: With an unusual choice of language, U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry waded into Islamic theological debate on Tuesday when he branded ISIS “apostates.”

The United States affords its citizens religious freedom and does not consider apostasy a crime, but Kerry chose the term to rubbish the jihadis’ claims of piety.

“Daesh is in fact nothing more than a mixture of killers, of kidnappers, of criminals, of thugs, of adventurers, of smugglers and thieves,” he declared.

“And they are also above all apostates, people who have hijacked a great religion and lie about its real meaning and lie about its purpose and deceive people in order to fight for their purposes.”

Some Muslim legal scholars consider the proper punishment for turning one’s back on the faith to be death and several majority Islamic countries execute convicted apostates….

    Muslims in the US aren’t going to take claims about the legitimacy of the islamic state from a non-muslim the same way Christians don’t take their stance about same-sex marriage from Obama.

    “Daesh is in fact nothing more than a mixture of killers, of kidnappers, of criminals, of thugs, of adventurers, of smugglers and thieves,” he declared.

    I’m not sure that “adventurers” is an adjective with a negative connotation. And I don’t know if muhammad acted as smuggler after allegedly receiving his “revelations”. But other than that, they’re just like muhammad – a thieving, criminal, kidnapping, homicidal thug. At least going by core islamic texts and traditions.

    “And they are also above all apostates, people who have hijacked a great religion and lie about its real meaning and lie about its purpose and deceive people in order to fight for their purposes.”

    And they’re so skillful at lying that they don’t even need to change a comma of core islamic texts to justify their actions. Those rapscallions!

      Angemon, Very good comments. And just look at that expression on Kerry’s face! This man after talking such utter drivel actually takes himself seriously, and yet this fitted Islam to a ‘t’, “…killers, of kidnappers, of criminals, of thugs, of adventurers, of smugglers and thieves,” He forgot ‘rapists’. When thinking of Kerry the word ‘mental’ comes to mind. In fact all his disparagement of ISIS applies to Islam. What a complete dope!

      It is almost a certainty that Kerry has not read the foundational source texts of Islam: the Sira, the hadiths, Koran, and canonical commentaries. Nor has he read through the modern jihadist literature of Sayid Qutb, Muhammad Faraj, OBL, Maulana Maududi or Anwar Awlaki to name but a few.

      How does his lack of reading make Kerry an expert on Islam? Is Kerry pontificating? Is he parroting something a taqiyya-artist told him? Is he guessing?

      Well, a miss is as good as a mile. Kerry cannot judge Islam, because he has not done the reading. Final grade: ‘F’ for FAIL.

      “This student apparently did none of the course readings.”

The good end justifies the deceptive means ( It’s a big game). The Islamic problem together with the coming economic problem will cause a catastrophic Tsunami (which they want). John F. Kennedy was not assassinated by LHO. JFK wanted to take the “power to make money” from the FRB back into the rightful owners of this prerogative, the American Federal Government, as proclaimed in the American Constitution.

          J.P. Morgan initiated the forming of the “Feds” and it became Law under Pres. Wilson in 1913 or therabouts.

          Who owns the Federal Reserve?
          The Regional Federal Reserve Banks own all the shares in the U.S. Federal Reserve Bank. But some of the larger New York commercial bank shareholders in the Regional Reserve Banks have foreign ownership that are European investment banks such as Rothschild & Co.

    Actually, Kerry is conforming very well to the Islamic law that nothing can be said which will bring Islam into disrepute, even if true. The law is embedded in UN Resolution 16/18, totally unconstitutional for the US government, but signed onto by Hillary Clinton as Secretary of State.

    In Islam, the truth always takes second place to presenting Islam in a good light. Therefore, Kerry’s statement that the Islamic State does not represent Islam does not in itself imply that Kerry knows nothing of Islam. In fact, it is clear evidence that Kerry adheres closely to Islamic law.

    Al Baghdadi Knows Islam better than Kerry

    Caliph Abu Bakr Al Baghdadi, who is the ISIS chief and the caliph of the Islamic State, is apparently the first Islamic Studies PhD from a Muslim background who has no idea about Islam.

    Al-Baghdadi, who has obtained BA, MA and PhD degrees in Islamic studies from the Islamic University in Baghdad, has been condemned as a person who knows nothing about Islam, and as the head of an organization that has nothing to do with Islam.

    The professors from the Islamic University of Baghdad, however, do not agree. They taught the caliph and believe his credentials and doctrines are sound.

    “If a person who has a PhD in Islamic studies and does nothing but study the Islamic scriptures knows nothing about Islam, then who does?” questioned al-Baghdadi’s main teacher from the Islamic University, preferring to remain anonymous since the fatwa against ISIS and its chief puts his reputation into jeopardy.

    “The wine-sipping Muslims, those hedonistic adulterers will tell the world what true Islam is? Obama and Cameron know more about Islam than the faculty of Islamic studies at the Islamic University in Baghdad?” the professor bellowed with rage, while talking to a journalist.
    Another professor who had taught al-Baghdadi in BA said off the record that the Isis caliph was an ardent student.

    “He had this obsession with Islamic studies. I used to tell him to go out and have some fun sometimes. But his idea of fun wasn’t too human friendly,” the professor said. “In any case he was a top student. One of the best I’ve ever had. Had the entire syllabus on his finger tips – to be honest, he knew more about Islamic studies than most of the professors.”

    “While you can question whether they are humans or not, there is no doubt that ISIS, including Abu Bakr (al Baghdadi), are indeed bona fide Muslims,” concluded the ISIS caliph’s PhD professor.

    Does Kerry understand Islam better than Sheikh Adel al-Kalbani?

    A former imam of the Grand Mosque in Mecca, Sheikh Adel al-Kalbani, has said that the Islamic State (IS) group follows the same brand of Islam as officially espoused by Saudi Arabia.

    “We follow the same thought [as IS] but apply it in a refined way,” he said. “They draw their ideas from what is written in our own books, from our own principles.”

    The cleric said that “we do not criticise the thought on which it (IS) is based”.

    In his MBC interview, which was broadcast on 22 January, Kalbani said IS and Salafists in Saudi Arabia shared the same opinion on apostasy, which is that those who leave Islam should be executed.

    Kalbani also spoke about the killing of journalists by IS, including Americans James Foley and Steven Sotloff, which drew global condemnation in September 2014.

    He said “their blood was shed according to Salafist fatwas (religious edicts) not outside the Salafist framework.”

    Over the years, Sheikh Adel al-Kalbani’s has said that the Islamic State is a “true product of Salafism”, that Shi’ites are “apostates” and that Saudi Arabia “shelters [him] from hearing church bells ringing.”

    The Quran is quite clear about those who like Isis create another sect of Islam to perform evil. According to this sura, Isis are apostates because they are trying to ‘sell’ their own interpretation of Islam as from God and will end up in hell fire.

    2:79-82

    And woe unto them, who transcribe corruptly the book of the law with their hands, and then say, This is from GOD: that they may sell it for a small price. Therefore woe unto them because of that which their hands have written; and woe unto them for that which they have gained. 80 They say, The fire of hell shall not touch us but for a certain number of days. Answer, Have ye received any promise from GOD to that purpose? for GOD will not act contrary to his promise: or do ye speak concerning GOD that which ye know not? Verily whoso doth evil, and is encompassed by his iniquity, they shall be the companions of hell fire, they shall remain therein forever: but they who believe and do good works, they shall be the companions of paradise, they shall continue therein forever.

    There are also others verses which prove them to be apostates. Islam though needs to do something about Hadiths that although Baha’is do not accept as true, are, widely accepted. But still the Quran should always be the authority and not Hadiths or preachers.

      worldcitizen, You need to learn about Islam from Islam, not from your pre-digested Baha’i pamphlets. The topic in question is THE SUNNA. You appear unaware that THE SUNNA is an inseparable, foundational part of Islam.

      The Koran tells Muslims about 80 times to imitate Mohammed, but without the hadiths, there is no SUNNA. The hadiths and Sira are essentially THE SUNNA.

      No SUNNA…no Islam.

      You are woefully uninformed about Islam and do no favor to Bahai’is by exposing your embarrassing lack of knowledge of the BASICS of Islam. Mohammed is the only authority on Islam.

      ………………………………

      Of course, this Sura is *not* about Muslims using the Qur’an to justify violence at all–instead, it is condemning Jews for supposedly having “corrupted” the Torah so that it differs from the Qur’an.

      More:

      There are also others verses which prove them to be apostates. Islam though needs to do something about Hadiths that although Baha’is do not accept as true, are, widely accepted. But still the Quran should always be the authority and not Hadiths or preachers.
      ………………………………

      The Qur’an itself is *hideously violent*. “worldcitizen1919” seems to think that if he denies it often enough that it will make it so. Here are just a handful of the violent verses in that foul tome:

      Quran (2:191-193) – “And kill them wherever you find them, and turn them out from where they have turned you out. And Al-Fitnah (disbelief) is worse than killing…

      Quran (2:216) – “Fighting is prescribed for you, and ye dislike it. But it is possible that ye dislike a thing which is good for you, and that ye love a thing which is bad for you. But Allah knoweth, and ye know not.”

      Quran (3:151) – “Soon shall We cast terror into the hearts of the Unbelievers, for that they joined companions with Allah, for which He had sent no authority”.

      Quran (8:67) – “It is not for a Prophet that he should have prisoners of war until he had made a great slaughter in the land…”

      Quran (9:5) – “So when the sacred months have passed away, then slay the idolaters wherever you find them, and take them captive and besiege them and lie in wait for them in every ambush…

      Quran (9:29) – “Fight those who believe not in Allah nor the Last Day, nor hold that forbidden which hath been forbidden by Allah and His Messenger, nor acknowledge the religion of Truth, (even if they are) of the People of the Book, until they pay the Jizya with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued.”

      Quran (9:14) – “Fight against them so that Allah will punish them by your hands and disgrace them and give you victory over them and heal the breasts of a believing people.”

      Quran (8:39) – “And fight with them until there is no more fitna (disbelief) and religion is all for Allah”

      There are many more.

        Baha’is are well meaning and well wishers of all humanity and only want peace and unity and an end to violence and wars. All we want is a better world for our children.
        ………………………….

        And “worldcitzen1919” believes he will get it by defending the Qur’an, which is a manual for murder, and the foul “Prophet” Muhammed, who was a warlord, caravan-raider, rapist, slaver, pedophile, and mass-murderer.

        Baha’i toadying to Islam does not prevent their vicious Muslim overlords from oppressing and murdering them in Dar-al-Islam.

A gun, a constitution, a religion can be misused and it is not the gun’s fault or the Cinstitution’sfault or the religion’s fault but the person misusing it who’s at fault.

          Are Jesus and the Bible rotten to the core because of widespread child sexual abuse within the church by priests and clergy?

          Feb 5, 2016 at 2:54 am

          The clergy are not the roots, Christ and the Gospels are the roots. The scandal, as horrible as it was, really was not rampant. The percentage of priests involved was eerily in common with the percentage of married dad’s committing the same atrocities. I imagine in certain places, like Iran, the occurrence of child predation is much more common.
          Muhammad, and the satanic kooran are rotten, ungodly things. The rotten roots of islam.

          ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
          “worldcitizen” has NO idea what he is quoting here …
          No one if *falsely* judging “worldcitizen”, but the opposite is true.
          And this from “Got Questions” will straighten out “worldcitizen’s” fallacious thinking and tactic of attempting to silence his critics:
          ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

          Question: “What does the Bible mean that we are not to judge others?”

          Answer: Jesus’ command not to judge others could be the most widely quoted of His sayings, even though it is almost invariably quoted in complete disregard of its context. Here is Jesus’ statement: “Do not judge, or you too will be judged” (Matthew 7:1). Many people use this verse in an attempt to silence their critics, interpreting Jesus’ meaning as “You don’t have the right to tell me I’m wrong.” Taken in isolation, Jesus’ command “Do not judge” does indeed seem to preclude all negative assessments. However, there is much more to the passage than those three words.

          The Bible’s command that we not judge others does not mean we cannot show discernment. Immediately after Jesus says, “Do not judge,” He says, “Do not give dogs what is sacred; do not throw your pearls to pigs” (Matthew 7:6). A little later in the same sermon, He says, “Watch out for false prophets. . . . By their fruit you will recognize them” (verses 15–16). How are we to discern who are the “dogs” and “pigs” and “false prophets” unless we have the ability to make a judgment call on doctrines and deeds? Jesus is giving us permission to tell right from wrong.

          Also, the Bible’s command that we not judge others does not mean all actions are equally moral or that truth is relative. The Bible clearly teaches that truth is objective, eternal, and inseparable from God’s character. Anything that contradicts the truth is a lie—but, of course, to call something a “lie” is to pass judgment. To call adultery or murder a sin is likewise to pass judgment—but it’s also to agree with God. When Jesus said not to judge others, He did not mean that no one can identify sin for what it is, based on God’s definition of sin.

          And the Bible’s command that we not judge others does not mean there should be no mechanism for dealing with sin. The Bible has a whole book entitled Judges. The judges in the Old Testament were raised up by God Himself (Judges 2:18). The modern judicial system, including its judges, is a necessary part of society. In saying, “Do not judge,” Jesus was not saying, “Anything goes.”

          Elsewhere, Jesus gives a direct command to judge: “Stop judging by mere appearances, but instead judge correctly” (John 7:24). Here we have a clue as to the right type of judgment versus the wrong type. Taking this verse and some others, we can put together a description of the sinful type of judgment:

          Superficial judgment is wrong. Passing judgment on someone based solely on appearances is sinful (John 7:24). It is foolish to jump to conclusions before investigating the facts (Proverbs 18:13). Simon the Pharisee passed judgment on a woman based on her appearance and reputation, but he could not see that the woman had been forgiven; Simon thus drew Jesus’ rebuke for his unrighteous judgment (Luke 7:36–50).

          Hypocritical judgment is wrong. Jesus’ command not to judge others in Matthew 7:1 is preceded by comparisons to hypocrites (Matthew 6:2, 5, 16) and followed by a warning against hypocrisy (Matthew 7:3–5). When we point out the sin of others while we ourselves commit the same sin, we condemn ourselves (Romans 2:1).

          Harsh, unforgiving judgment is wrong. We are “always to be gentle toward everyone” (Titus 3:2). It is the merciful who will be shown mercy (Matthew 5:7), and, as Jesus warned, “In the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you” (Matthew 7:2).

          Self-righteous judgment is wrong. We are called to humility, and “God opposes the proud” (James 4:6). The Pharisee in Jesus’ parable of the Pharisee and the tax collector was confident in his own righteousness and from that proud position judged the publican; however, God sees the heart and refused to forgive the Pharisee’s sin (Luke 18:9–14).

          Untrue judgment is wrong. The Bible clearly forbids bearing false witness (Proverbs 19:5). “Slander no one” (Titus 3:2).

          Christians are often accused of “judging” or intolerance when they speak out against sin. But opposing sin is not wrong. Holding aloft the standard of righteousness naturally defines unrighteousness and draws the slings and arrows of those who choose sin over godliness. John the Baptist incurred the ire of Herodias when he spoke out against her adultery with Herod (Mark 6:18–19). She eventually silenced John, but she could not silence the truth (Isaiah 40:8).

          Believers are warned against judging others unfairly or unrighteously, but Jesus commends “right judgment” (John 7:24, ESV). We are to be discerning (Colossians 1:9; 1 Thessalonians 5:21). We are to preach the whole counsel of God, including the Bible’s teaching on sin (Acts 20:27; 2 Timothy 4:2). We are to gently confront erring brothers or sisters in Christ (Galatians 6:1). We are to practice church discipline (Matthew 18:15–17). We are to speak the truth in love (Ephesians 4:15).

          World Citizen, what do you think might have happened if Seyyid Ali-Muhammad of Shiraz got a sizable enough following to see him as not only Bab, but also Mahdi (which he tried to do)? Methinks there would’ve been a civil war in Qajar Persia. That’s what happens in Islamic societies when a Mahdi-wannabe gets too durn big (as in the Sudan in the late 1800’s).

          As for Kerry, I just wish these all-wise American liberals would cease pontificating about what Islam “really is”. What should we believe? The pronunciations of Lurch Kerry, or what we can see from our own lying eyes (that have scanned the Qur’an and Hadith, and note uncanny parallels to terrorist behavior)?

          It reminds me of a girl I tried to teach while a University lecturer. She was adamant that Dubya Bush was an evil racist warmonger out to further oppress the poor oppressed masses of the Middle East, but nonetheless insisted that Islam is “a religion of peace” (one of Bush’s lines when he tried to wing it, I suppose).

          The Bab was the Mahdi awaited by the Sunnis and the Qaim awaited by the Shiahs.

          He was the first ‘triumphet blow’ in the Quran and was the return of John the Baptist Whose mission it was to prepare humanity for the coming of Baha’u’llah, the ‘second trumpet bast’ mentioned in the Quran which was to quickly follow the first one.

          His whole aim was to prepare Perisia then for a new Manifeststion of God and abrogate Shariah law and the Quran.

      It’s quite ironic though that Kerry is anti-Semitic as his grandfather was an Austrian Jew, as was his grandmother. They came to the US in the early 1900s and chose the name “Kerry” by dropping a pencil on a map and it landed on County Kerry in Ireland. Why does he hate his own people?

    Being There, which starred Peter Sellers, could have been about John Kerry. There has to be something seriously defective about this man’s brain. How can someone who has never studied the Koran and Islamic history, express an opinion on what the Koran says.? Even AFP seemed puzzled that he was taking the position that ISIS leaders and followers were not true Muslims. First, this, bozo suggests that the Syrian Civil War was caused by climate change. Now, he starts expressing his opinion about what the Koran says. Chauncy Gardner would have been a better choice for Secretary of State than Kerry. .

    Imam Kerry pronounces ISIS are “above all apostates”.

    Apostates, those that renounce and betray Islam, are the most vile creatures under Islam. Worse than Christians, worse than Jews, worse even than the idol worshiping “polytheists”. They are the worst scum in the eyes of Islam, to be slaughtered without mercy under orders from Muhammad and his mouthpiece the Quran.

    The only way Imam Kerry, can slaughter another Muslim is to declare him an “apostate”. There is no other way Imam Kerry can justify the killing of ISIS. It matters not in the least that they are beheading and crucifying Christians, enslaving their children and raping and enslaving their women. It matters not in the least that they are beheading their captives and burning them alive, it matters not in the least they are stoning women to death, carrying out mass murder and genocide. No it matters only that they are “apostates” in the eyes of John Kerry and his master Hussain Obama.

    They have given up Islam! How terrible. Now they can be killed. Now it is the duty of every good Christian to kill those that forsake Islam.
