Of course. In the final analysis, what isn’t a Zionist plot?
“Iranian scientist: Genetically modified foods a ‘Zionist plot,'” Arutz Sheva, February 16, 2016:
Iran and other Muslim countries are known for their “creative” accusations against the United States and Israel, but the latest one is particularly amusing.
An Iranian researcher quoted by PressTV is claiming that imports to Iran of genetically modified products are nothing a “Zionist plot” to infect Iranians with diseases.
Ali Karami, specialist in medical biotechnology and genetic engineering, said he believes an “import mafia” is behind the distribution of such products in the country.
He also claimed to have received death threats after his first interview on the issue with the Tasnim news agency was published a month ago.
“The mafia importing certain genetically modified products even kills for its interests. Be careful,” said Karami, according to PressTV, before adding, “The fact is the lives of people are not important to American and Israeli companies because two sweet businesses are involved.”
“First, the contaminated food causes illness and then the patient needs drugs and medication. This is capitalism where money is the criteria and pharmaceuticals and medicine is a multi-trillion-dollar industry,” he went on to claim.
Karami said the proliferation of genetically modified products is part of a “dangerous plot to control Iran, the Middle East and the Islamic world in general.”
“State officials, stay vigilant. Ministries of Agriculture, Trade, the esteemed Majlis, Judiciary, Executive, Ministry of Health, supervisory bodies, please study this sinister scheme,” he added….

“Zionist plot”
Such inane thinking. And these are two words that never belong side-by-side; especially if this “Iranian scientist” hopes to be taken seriously. Now I don’t even care to know *what* this “scientist” has to say.

Ali Karami…is a scientist?
He’s off his meds again.
BC says
In no way is he a scientist. Real scientists do not make such ridiculous claims. He is in fact a conspiracy theorist pure and simple’ . The statements that come form ‘palestinians’ and other Islamic sources are straight forward anti semitism

One million HuffPo readers will be furiously writing comments of agreement, adding details of the plot, working each other up into a lather, and spreading evil lies and rumors because their simple-headed view of the world is that ‘Big Agra’ (they like saying that) is more dangerous than Iranian religious fanatics with a bomb.
mortimer says
Ali Karami refers to: “… the esteemed Majlis, Judiciary, Executive…”
No SANE Persian has any esteem for the ‘Majlis, Judiciary, Executive…’, all of whom are lickspittles of the corrupt ayatollahs.
Neil Jennison says
Perhaps they have a point?
Perhaps Zionist Israelis have genetically modified the food to make all Iranians go barking, fucking mad and believe the crap spouted by a vicious warlord called Mohammed is the Truth to be imposed on the whole world whether we like it or not?
Man never went to the moon either. The earth is flat. The twin towers were destroyed by the CIA with a little help from Mossad.
Call the men in the white suits with the straight jackets please………….
Jack Diamond says
Since ISIS is a Zionist plot why not Muhammad too? Maybe Islam was invented by the Zionists to discredit Islam? The black arts of the Zionists infiltrate everything. Who can you really trust if one is a Muslim? Why is that one shoe always missing when you wake up in the morning? The inmates run the asylum.
Lucretius says
I think you’ve hit on it, Mossad has struck again. With Stuxnet they sabotaged their software, now they’ve screwed their scientists’ minds with the old missing shoe trick.
Karen says
Ah, the plot thickens……
Pass out the tin foil hats.

Not exactly–Obama urged NASA to reach out to Mohammedans–thus making it easier for them to sabotage future missions.
“Barack Obama: Nasa must try to make Muslims ‘feel good’
The head of the Nasa has said Barack Obama told him to make “reaching out to the Muslim world” one of the space agency’s top priorities.”

I don’t think even this delusional fool would urge NASA to use Muslim technology, since apart from a few designs for IEDs, it barely exists.

How many able bodied Jews are there? Half are women and some of those are busy young mothers, some are elderly and disabled. Of the men some are children, some are elderly and others are disabled. So that leaves just a few million Jews to control the planet, science, technology, the media everything. I suppose none of them work for a living or else they don’t sleep in order to be doing all this controlling. I am sick to death of this. I don’t find it funny anymore or stupid, it enrages me.

Ali Karami is a fine example of “stupid is what stupid does”. Imagine how stupid are the people who appointed him?
Thank God for the Jews and their contributions to society.

So why we spend those countless billions to help and feed those morons in the 3rd backward world countries? Without our (western) help they will starve long ago. Perhaps even better. We would not run into current problems with those ever moaning allahistic complainers! Let them starve!

If only it were that simple!!! I wish something of that sort of bio-agra warfare could work. I love Islamic Science! Here is another perfect example why a Muslim will never win the Nobel Prize for sciences. He forgot to mention that Polio vaccinations are a Zionist plot to make muslims sterile. I want to hear more about the health benefits of drinking Camel urine and how the first visitor to the Moon was actually a muslim.
Oliver says
The Pakistanis did that–IE-Polio vaccines a Zionist plot ( the two vaccines- Salk & Sabin) were made/discovered by Jews. (American jews, at that).
And, in Pakistan, the aid workers are killed for trying to give the vaccine. So Pakistan has the highest rate (per 100,000) of polio in the world and one of the highest in numbers. (I forgot which site had the statistics)
Rob says
It’s slightly off the point but didn’t the present operators of the former Israeli greenhouses in Gaza ask the former owners for help?
The ousted Israelis declined.
Laura says
Actually, my recollection was that there was no “request for help” – declined or otherwise. The “new” residents destroyed the greenhouses immediately upon taking up residence.

Thank You Westman…for reading it

……………………
Actually, what happened was this: philanthropic American Jews purchased the greenhouses to donate to the “Palestinians”.
Even though they were sick at heart about being ousted, the Israeli owners were supportive of their “Palestinian” employees taking ownership of the greenhouses–they didn’t want their work to have been for nothing.
Unfortunately, shortly after the ill-considered hand-over, ravening Muslim mobs destroyed the greenhouses–even though they now belonged to Gazan Muslims.
Jews did not refuse to help at all–even though they would have had every reason to do so.
Just another example of how mindlessly destructive Islam is.

You’ve never wondered why the Iranians have been 3 years away from having the bomb for the past 11 years? Their best minds stayed in the West in 1979 when the Shah was overthrown in the “devolution”. The brain drain was well underway by 1960.
This guy is a perfect example of what happens when you subject science, already on shaky grounds in Iran, to comply with politics and religion.
The Communists in Russia did the same with their agriculture after the 1917 Bolshevic Revolution until they were starving. Russians made jokes like: “Comrade, why is there no meat in the stores?” Comrade2: “It is the cattle, they cannot keep up with the revolution!”
Now, after deciding politics make bad science, they sell surplus wheat to the world. Imagine how much more they will grow if global warming makes more arable land in Russia?
Mark Swan says
Westman…Good points…You mentioned Their nuclear program…You might read this.
http://www.gatestoneinstitute.org/7214/electro-magnetic-pulse-emp
Westman says
Mark,
I agree with the premise that the US electric power distribution lines and transformers are at risk from a high altitude nuclear blast that was tuned for a maximum EMP. I think the EMP device yield would have to be much higher than mentioned in your reference.
I think other device damage will be spotty and most cars, locomotives and industrial machinery would continue to function. Most electric motor devices would continue to function – if there was available electricity. Most of the emergency generators will still work or can be repaired, particularly if they were off-grid at the time of the EMP.
We would suddenly have a completely oil, natural gas, and coal dependent, crashed economy, and the distribution of food would continue via truck and train – IFF the roads and rails were intact. Refineries would run on their own products. The EPA would shut its doors as would many other, now useless, agencies.
If it happened in Winter, some people would freeze and some would starve while adjustments to the infrastructure and priorities were proceeding. I have no idea if Manhatten Island has a backup plan for water distribution, and sewage, and electricity. It might be largely abandoned.
The most vulnerable is the power grid, due to the huge power distribution transformers that would take years to replace. Forget your retirement.
Imagine, no internet. Many cell towers have generator backup so some phone service is likely to be available as long as fuel can be distributed and thst would depend on national priorities.
gravenimage says
Mark and Westman, I don’t want to minimize the damage such a device could do in the tech-dependent West.
But I think we’d be back up and running pretty quickly. Don’t underestimate the innovation, know-how, and can-do spirit of the West.
David says
Why would anyone with an ounce of logic be surprised at this buffoon’s statement.
A scientist??? Good grief. It’s laughable at best.
vcragain says
Well .. there ARE GMO foods and they ARE bad for us….but..this is not a conspiracy by the West, it is a money-making scheme by the BigAg* businesses and idealistic lab-work & ‘look at how clever I am’ by the scientists ! So – I do not eat GMO foods if I know about them, I would rather eat organically-produced REAL old-fashioned farm food. The idealistic ‘golden rice’ has been found to have issues, the way we do agriculture in the BigAg* businesses is total cruelty to animals, BUT again – this is a battle being fought BY the West AGAINST those same vested interests – those who don’t really care about anything but MONEY – THAT is where the problem lies. It is NOT all a big CONSPIRACY to ‘get the Iranians’ – rather a big problem with Capitalism’s over zealous push for ‘more more more’ MONEY & control of where that money comes from.
So – YES- the Iranians need to watch out that they control what new business ventures in their countries actually DO – humans are what humans are – and without controls they are dangerous !
gravenimage says
vcragain, the fact is that humans have been “genetically modifying” animals and plants since the dawn of agriculture. Most of the “old-fashioned farm food” you eat has been significantly modified from its wild cousins.
“Genetic modification” can be as simple as mating cows that give a bit more milk or grafting hardier or larger fruit-bearing branches.
We would not be able to feed our population–nor eat as well as we do–without these centuries of “genetic modifications”.
That being said, as you note, not every modification is unreservedly beneficial. Though it is not quite the same thing, I tend to avoid heavily processed foods myself.
But that is not what this primitive Mohammedan is talking about, of course. He just assumes that all science and technology is a “Zionist plot” out to harm Muslims.
The fact is that Muslims have benefited from the millenia of “genetic modification” of foods just like everyone else on the planet.

beef that was grass fed…fruit that ripened on a tree…vegetables that ripened in the garden…they will

Possibly they have problems with the existence of non muslims.

GMO foods–have been proven to be unsafe and unfit for human and animal consumption–many health problems are associated with them, e.g., allergies and inflammation, etc . The fact so many remain willfully ignorant–does not change the facts.

More muslim Jew hate.
The crux of the roadblock to peace.
Oliver says
If only this was true.
Give the Muslims the poisoned food, and let them die-quickly. Before they could reproduce and cause more problems.
as to Genetically Modified Foods–included are seedless watermelon; pink grapefruit; and tangelos.
I beleive that Gregor Mendel, an Austrian (Catholic) priest (or was he a monk?) was the first to genetically modify a fruit, some 300 or so years ago.
As to Israel (and the US) modifying foods–in both nations the scientists have been able to grow DWARF FRUIT TREES- with yields the same as full sized trees- but needing less land (per tree); and less water, etc. (Trees that are in this category include apple trees and date trees).
Israel is also a leader in aquaculture.
