“Today’s attacks in Brussels underscores this is a war. This is not a lone war. ISIS has declared jihad.” Yes. This shouldn’t even be controversial. It’s painfully obvious — as is Cruz’s call for an end to Obama’s suicidal migrant policies.
“Cruz: ‘We Don’t Need Another Lecture on Islamophobia,'” by Cortney O’Brien, Townhall, March 22, 2016:
Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) spoke to the press in the nation’s capital Tuesday morning to address the horrific terror attacks in Brussels. He mourned with the victims’ families, then pinned the blame on failed leadership both at home and abroad.
“Today’s attacks in Brussels underscores this is a war,” Cruz said. “This is not a lone war. ISIS has declared jihad.”
“It is way past time we have a president who will acknowledge this evil and will call it by its name and use the full force and fury to defeat ISIS,” he continued. “Until they are defeated, these attacks will continue. Their target is each and every one of us.”
Cruz, one of five remaining presidential candidates, urged America needs a leader who is not afraid to speak about terrorism in bold terms.
“We need a president who sets aside political correctness,” Cruz insisted. “We don’t need another lecture about Islamophobia.”
More than a change in rhetoric, Cruz noted we need a more robust security process. The Brussels attacks, Cruz said, are “the fruit of a failed immigration policy in Europe.”
He called the president’s plan to allow thousands of Syrian refugees into the States woefully wrong. We need “serious vetting,” he said.
Asked to address his rival Donald Trump’s suggestion on Monday that the U.S. withdraw from NATO, Cruz appeared visibly disgusted.
“Trump is wrong” when he says that we withdraw from NATO and retreat from Europe, Cruz said. “Trump’s proposal to withdraw from NATO is sadly consistent with his statement he intends to be neutral with Israel.”…

President Obama spent 51 seconds commenting on the attack in Brussels. He made no mention of Islam, Islamic terrorism, Islamic jihad or the nine Americans — one of which was an active-duty military along with his family — who many are in critical condition. Subsequently, he proceeded to attend a baseball game between American and Cuban teams. Well, we know his priorities . .

Things have turned out hunky-dory for the Moslem activist crowd. Things improved for Moslems after 9/11, their power was felt. Now we have accepted a new normal where there are major mass murders in capitals on a routine basis. Plus the small efforts like the Jihad murders pulled off in Little Rock and Seattle and Ft Hood and Chatanooga and several more here in America alone.
I still ask: how many $ does the U.S. federal gubmint spend watching Moslem activists? And what’s the number for state and local gubmints. These Moslems ain’t cheap to keep around.

LOL, Cecilia! I sent along the link I’d already found at YouTube to a friend, and I advised her to arm herself with a bottle of milk of magnesia before viewing! I really needed it when he repeatedly referred to Cubans who populated Miami as “exiles” (I’ve worked with and known a number of Cubans well in NYC) and went on to say how seriously he takes Cuba’s sovereignty! Upchuck! The whole speech is stomach-churning, and I watched it to the bitter end. I think he is plotting to give Guantanamo to Cuba.
On the up side, though, and this is not my imagination: While he received enthusiastic applause to welcome him as he approached and alighted upon the podium, as soon as he opened his mouth, the applause began to diminish until, towards the end, it was absolutely nothing more than polite applause. There was even a shot of some of the older people in the audience, and their hands were implacably still.
Don’t forget Obama announced a week before his trip that he was going to “speak with dissidents” while in Cuba. I thought this odd; it seemed to me that, from what I know about how dissidents are tolerated under Castro’s dictatorship, Obama was putting those very dissidents in danger of being imprisoned, disappeared or executed.
Sure enough, there were news reports the day before Obama arrived in Cuba that the Cuban govt had arrested a load of dissidents. Nice work, Obama.

………………………….
Lucretius, I was *not* rubber-stamping everything Trump has ever said. I have noted here many times that his understanding of the threat of Islam is uneven at best.
What I was specifically applauding–as I noted–were his comments in the immediate wake of the Brussels attack:
Trump: Brussels an “armed camp,” today’s jihad attacks “just the beginning”
“I will tell you, I’ve been talking about this a long time, and look at Brussels. Brussels was a beautiful city, a beautiful place with zero crime. And now it’s a disaster city. It’s a total disaster, and we have to be very careful in the United States, we have to be very careful and very vigilant as to who we allow in this country.”
http://www.jihadwatch.org/2016/03/trump-brussels-an-armed-camp-todays-jihad-attacks-just-the-beginning
Those are good comments–as are those of Ted Cruz, above.
Neither of these men are perfect on Islam–nowhere close–but in most cases they at least grasp something of the Jihad threat, and understand that Americans need to be protected from its depredations.
Better than most of our politicians–right now, I’ll take that, Lucretius.
Lucretius says
I’m fine with some of his specific statements too. Ben Shapiro says Trump is a hammer, and sometimes he hits the nail on the head. Or he’s like the Id of American politics, he says what many feel deep down and will blurt it out without inhibition. He shoots from the hip and he’s terribly unmoored to a principled understanding of American liberty as shown in the case of Pam, a crony capitalist briber of public officials, a raw egotist who takes a shine to Putin when flattered, a so-called christian who says he never felt the need to repent while boasting of bedding married women, a ‘conservative’ who says “I’m very capable of changing to anything I want to change to” and has. I detest him, and it colored my response. I apologize for misunderstanding you

Precisely!
Unfortunately, he’s not alone in parroting that nonsense. I’m watching “The Five” on Fox right now, and Eric Bolling just used the exact, same phrase.
It does appear that politicians, so-called journalists, and the many others who use that and similar phrases are either just too stupid to figure out how ignorant such terms are, or they think the rest of us are too stupid to “get it”.
Demsci says
No, PRCS, I am among Political Corrects, but also, say, “Swing voters”, “Fence-Sitters”, ever since 9/11/2001 and among “Newcomers to the debate, like youngsters”. And to me they all seem indoctrinated to the determination of “treating Muslims fairly”. The Jews wish they had the protection of “political correct” people in the 1930’s!
Yes, I too see that it is prejudice, rigidity, denseness that inhibits the minds of our majority, which Politicians merely cater too, and hardly lead.
But it is “innovation” that characterizes Western Democratic Citizens, while the rigid and dense, or “kaput-indoctrinated” Muslims resist it as forbidden BIDA. So it behooves US, not them, to find a solution.
And compromise is possible. Just overcome the “brick wall”, which is that you cannot, under any circumstances, and not even with tons of proof, convince our own majority of democratic citizens, that ….
All of Islam is “at fault” and all Muslims are either enemies or only “Sleeping until they wake up to Islamic enmity towards us”.
Instead compromise and allow politicians a “division of Muslims”. At least experiment this innovation, don’t shut and shout it down as an anti-innovation conservative!
The division of Muslims can be threefold; 1. Normal neutral majority. 2. Negative deviation, the extremists. 3. The positive exception; democratic Muslims. Since our majority will never accept “Generalizing, stereotyping, “painting with the same black brush” ALL ISLAM AND ALL MUSLIMS, You can forget that.
But you can put forward the demand of a distinct positieve exception of Muslims, who unequivacolly choose Democratic system, people and nations over Islamic theocratic ones!!!
Even if you doubt they do or could exist, OK? or are shunned by the other Muslims.
Because this way you can shift the support of our majority to that positive exception of Muslims and away from the big “normal, neutral, but inactive and silent, totally untrustworthy majority of Muslims. Which in time they will then fight, but only then.
Ask the “libtards and Muslims” the question: “If you say that Muslims in WEstern nations are harmless to those nations, their people and their system,
why don;t they openly, per person and per mosque, and bigger groups than that, choose for democracy and against theocracy?! And why can’t we demand that from them?
And bear in mind that the vast majority of Muslims in the West in some way is prophiting and dependent on education, national health service, or welfare.
Sorry if I sound exasperated, I only want governments to experiment, because I am not sure either. But I am frustrated that nobody seems to see this compromise, not even to consider it.
dajjal says
How are we to compromise on civilizational suicide? Shall we divide the world into free and slave hemispheres? Should we give Muslims control of half the states to impose shari’ah therein?
All Islam is evil and incompatible with human life liberty, security, happiness and prosperity. No exceptions.
Muslims come in two classifications: MINOs aka hypocrites and Believers. MINOs can become Believers at any time without warning. Believers are only those who fight to make Islam dominate the world.
Preventing terror attacks requires removing and excluding Muslims from Dar ul-Harb. Establishing peace requires sending Little Boy & Fat Man & their descendants to Dar ul-Islam when the first infiltrator or missile comes over the horizon.
So, first generation MINOs are meek & mild, doing no harm, but see what their spawn are doing: becoming and acting as Believers so that heads roll and blood splatters. Inviting the enemy fifth column into our land and letting them stay here is the first and worst mistake.
Walter Sieruk says
Those ISIS jihad bombing attacks in Brussels today leads to an important question: is the Quran the Word of God or is it a fabrication of a man ?. Thus, is the Quran the truth or a fiction and a hoax ? The jihadists use many verses from the Quran as the main source of justification for their violence, mayhem and murders. As seen in 4:89. 5:33. 9:5,111,123. 47:4. The information is clearly given on pages 145 through 157 in THE ISLAMIC INVASION by Robert Morey in which he wrote a section on the Quran with its self-contradictions. Just two of the many he cited are the following “The Quran differs on whether a day is a thousand years or fifty thousand years in God’s sight’ and “Who was first to believe? Abraham or Moses [Sura 6:14 versus 7:143]? The above is inconsistent and illogical. Further, Morey wrote about “The fact that Judaism and Christianity broke up into different sects was used in the Quran to prove that they are not of God [Suras 30:20-32. 42:13, 14]. Yet Islam has broken up into many warring sects and therefore cannot be true if the Quran is right.” Moreover, Morey in his book shows many more contradictions and absurdities in the Quran, there are and how Muhammad incorporated extra Biblical and Jewish folklore along with pre-Islamic Arabian myth and parts of Zoroastrian and Hindu stories into the Quran. Furthermore, the Muslims claim that “the Quran is the direct, literal word of God unmodified in any way by the Prophet who uttered them at the bidding of God.” Nevertheless, in the book UNVEILING ISLAM by Ergun Mehmet and Eethi Caner has shown that the Quran was modified in the following account on pages 45. “Muhammad felt the need to improve on the words of Allah, since he changed Allah’s wisdom for his own on several occasions. A hadith tells of the nonchalant emendations of Muhammad:’ On a number of occasions he [a scribe] had, with the Prophet’s consent changed the closing words of verses. For example, when the prophet had said ‘God is mighty and wise ‘ Adbollah b. Abi Sarh suggested writing down ‘Knowing and wise’ and the Prophet answered that there was no objection. Having observed a succession of changes of this type, Adbollah renounced Islam on the grounds that revelations, if from God could not be changed at the prompting of a scribe such as himself. After his apostasy he went to Mecca and joined the Qorayshites.’ Other writers reveal that later Muhammad and his people did go war with the Qorayshites and he personally killed Abdollah. Obviously Abdollah knew too much and Muhammad wanted Abdollah’s knowledge to die with him.” In conclusion, the Quran is not only a fiction, it’s also a hoax.

Walter Sieruk says
ISIS is based on Islam. The foundation for Islam is the Koran. The Koran instructs in violence and killing for the advancement of Islam. As sen in the Koran in ,fore example, 4:89. 5::33. 9,5,111,123. 47:4. It may be of some interest that the Bible in Ezekiel 28:16 reads “you were filled with violence and you have sinned..” [N.I.V.] This Bible verse is referring to the wicked and cruel king of Tyre and likewise to Satan. It had been exposes by many earlier posts that Muhammad was a false prophet. That the false prophet Muhammad was a tool used by Satan to start and false ,violent and murderous religion. So the vicious and violent spirit of Islam’s violent and deadly militant jihad comes from Satan ,who is vicious and violent as the above Bible verse reads “you were filled with violence…” In other words, the evil and violent Satan inspired the evil and violent false prophet ,Muhammad to start the evil and violent death cult which is Islam, The outcome of this are those vicious violent and murderous jihad attacks in Brussels just today.

All Islam is Islam, fundamental, radical, extremist or moderate: It is Islam, Stupid. In a pack or a loner, a wolf is a wolf and a Muslim is a Muslim for alla’ that. Today’s MINO can be a BELIEVER tomorrow, without warning. A Believer can lie and abandon fitra to disguise himself while waiting for an opportunity to strike terror.
There is no discrete enemy whose elimination will guarantee peace and security. Al-Qaeda, HAMAS, ISIL etc. etal are all composed of Believing Muslims. When one falls, another steps forward to replace him and the Jihad continues.
Push the alphabet soup of terror groups out of the way and focus directly on the real enemy: Ummah al-Islamiyya: every GdM on the face of the earth. Jihad will come to an end when the earth is purged of Islam, when the entire Ummah is apostatized or dead.
While one Believing Muslim survives, he will recruit and breed more, they will regroup, rearm and resume Jihad.
There is no political will to attack Islam ideologically or kinetically. That will not change until politicians stop lying to protect it. Muslims are the enemy. Islam is the ideology that makes them inimical. Say it, Ted.
Islam is what Moe said and did. While the Mekkan surahs are relatively passive and tolerant, the Medinan surahs are violent and intolerant; they abrogate the earlier verses with which they conflict. There is no anodyne, passive Islam; only conquest, terror, genocide and domination.
There is no right to manifest, practice & propagate Islam unless there is a right to attack, kill, plunder, rape, enslave and extort anyone who does not share your superstition.

And I really hope that you’re right about Trump. If elected, perhaps he’ll exceed your present expectations. Wouldn’t that be wonderful? Especially after obama.
Wishing you and yours much happiness and blessings during this Lenten season. Take care! 🙂

Champ: Oh, for Christ sake, do you live in a bubble? If you have paid any attention to Cruz’s Senate performance, and his disastrous run for President, the evidence is everywhere, and i do mean everywhere. If you can’t find it then you aren’t looking.
As Edward Snowden said: “This election, the choice is between Trump and Goldman Sachs.”
Champ says
Mr. Lucky, you still haven’t answered my question …
All you offered in your first comment is trash talk–stating that Ted Cruz is a “lying fraud”, and you’re even calling into question Robert Spencer’s motives.
And then when I present you with a direct question, to prove your point, this is how you respond? ..with more trash talk?
Insulting me is not an answer. And no, I do not “live in a bubble”; and since you’re the one leveling these charges against both Ted Cruz and Robert Spencer, then it’s incumbent upon you to prove these charges. Perfectly fair and reasonable. Don’t make me answer these charges, for you.

The Senate voting record of Cruz over all is certainly up for scrutiny and debate. At least he has one, unlike Obama and Rubio, who’s’ collective strategies have been as little voting record as possible. It worked for Obama, not so much with Rubio.
Remember, Cruz is hated by the GOPe and they are only unwillingly coalescing behind him after Bush and Rubio were repudiated by, and thwarted by the voting electorate.
While it is true that Mrs. Cruz is a Goldman girl, I simply believe that Trump is less-corruptible in comparison. Trump was also afforded less of a voting record, purely by happenstance, since he has never served in any political office.
When Ted sided with the GOPe, the collective media and the left on the Trump rallies, is where he lost me.
That said, Cruz has always been the only logical alternative to a Trump presidency, just bit the right one in my estimation.

And Edward Snowden is someone to be revered? His actions have devastated the international and national intelligence arena, the results of which will remain for years and culminate in loss of life beyond what it has already.

Apparently jihadwatch.org has been conned into supporting Cruz the Great Deceiver. How could a man like Robert Spencer who is up to speed on so many things, be so seduced by the lying fraud?

This would be like asking how it got “conned” into supporting Trump on this other thread posted today:
Trump: Brussels an “armed camp,” today’s jihad attacks “just the beginning”
“I will tell you, I’ve been talking about this a long time, and look at Brussels. Brussels was a beautiful city, a beautiful place with zero crime. And now it’s a disaster city. It’s a total disaster, and we have to be very careful in the United States, we have to be very careful and very vigilant as to who we allow in this country.” He is right about this — whatever else he is wrong about…

The fact is that Robert Spencer and Jihad Watch are not endorsing anyone here. He is just noting political responses to the terrible Jihad terror attacks. He also has stories on the comments of Obama and Hillary Clinton.
Neither Cruz nor Trump are perfect–Jihad Watch has noted both these candidates’ shortcomings vis-a-vis their apprehension of the JIhad threat. But it is important for us to see what they get right, as well as what they get wrong.
Whoever we elect is going to be imperfect on Islam–but we want to elect the candidate who gets it more right than wrong. And that means knowing what they have had to say. That is all Robert Spencer is doing here.
Both Cruz and Trump made some good comments in the immediate wake of the Brussels attacks, which is more than you can say for many of our “leaders”.

“Today Ted Cruz embraced Jeb Bush’s endorsement.”
That is all you really need to know if you want the truth about Ted Cruz.
Of course if one is an evangelical, a snake handler, or a mormon, it won’t make much difference. These people are used to being deceived.

Really sorry to see you pushing this opportunistic SOB. He attacked Donald Trump who was the FIRST to take a stand against Muslim immigration. Cruz is a fraud…..don’t fall for his lies.

I knew long before last September, If Trump is so sharp, why didn’t he know that Muslim refugees are infiltrators??? He spins like a weathervain. {Spelling intentional.}

I knew Trump was a bombastic egomaniac but if it’s true that he wants the US to pull out of NATO and become neutral towards Israel then he’s clearly a lunatic.
We in the West have to hang together or we will hang separately. How did American isolationism in the 30’s work out? The US left us to bear the brunt of the axis onslaught but it came looking for them anyway and Americans were forced to pick a side. Thank God they did.
