No one, Muslim or non-Muslim, should be harassed or threatened or intimidated in school. The questions here are about priority, focus, and overall agenda. The latest FBI hate crime statistics show that 57% of anti-religious hate crimes targeted Jews, while 16% targeted Muslims. Are educators expanding anti-bullying messages to protect Jews?
Also, the AP’s citing of statistics from Hamas-linked CAIR doesn’t inspire confidence. The Hamas-linked Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) wants and needs hate crimes against Muslims, because they’re the currency they use to buy power and influence in our victimhood-oriented society, and to deflect attention away from jihad terror and onto Muslims as putative victims. Hamas-linked CAIR, designated a terror organization by the United Arab Emirates, and other Muslims have on many occasions not hesitated to stoop even to fabricating “hate crimes,” including attacks on mosques. Most notably, in February, a New Jersey Muslim was found guilty of murder that he tried to portray as an “Islamophobic” attack, and in 2014 in California, a Muslim was found guilty of killing his wife, after first blaming her murder on “Islamophobia.”
And so here Hamas-linked CAIR says that they conducted a survey of 600 Muslim students in California and found that 55 percent reported facing religion-based bullying. What criteria did Hamas-linked CAIR use to determine whether something was religion-based bullying are not? Since this survey comes from a group with such a long record of reporting falsified hate crimes, the AP reporter should have asked this question. He didn’t, of course.
“Educators update anti-bullying messages to protect Muslims,” by Michael Melia, Associated Press, March 5, 2016 (thanks to Thomas):
MERIDEN, Conn. (AP) – In response to a surge in reports of anti-Muslim bullying – students being called terrorists, having their head scarves ripped off and facing bias even from teachers – schools are expanding on efforts deployed in the past to help protect gays, racial minorities and other marginalized groups.
Civil rights organizations and other advocates have been working more closely with schools since the attacks in Paris and San Bernardino, California, stirred a new backlash that led the U.S. Justice Department and U.S. Education Department to urge vigilance on the bullying of Muslims.
Were “the attacks in Paris and San Bernardino” instances of the bullying of Muslims? If the reader didn’t know better, he or she would certainly get that impression from this report. Here again we see the constant mainstream media theme: the chief victims, if not the only victims, of jihad mass murder attacks against non-Muslims are Muslims themselves.
While stressing that students have rights under the law, and that offenses should be reported, speakers at schools and mosques have also discussed how to create an inclusive culture, how Muslims are scapegoated for attacks and how non-Muslims can be allies to their peers.
“Muslim kids get bulled, gay kids get bullied because other kids are uncomfortable with them, and they show it,” said Bill Howe, a multicultural education specialist who spoke at an anti-bullying forum in December for children at Meriden’s Baitul Aman mosque. “That causes Muslim students to retreat, to be more isolated. They need to develop critical social skills so they can build relationships.”
While it may be that some Muslim students feel isolated, it also not infrequently happens that they isolate themselves. The Qur’an tells them not to take Jews and Christians as their friends and protectors (5:51), says that Muslims should be merciful to one another but harsh to unbelievers (48:29), and teaches that Muslims should hate even their relatives who are not Muslim (60:4). Obviously Muslim schoolchildren probably won’t be familiar with these verses and others like them, but they may well be quite familiar with the attitudes toward unbelievers that passages such as these inculcate.
One mother who attended the forum, put on by the office of the U.S. attorney for Connecticut, said she was relieved to learn help is available.
Shazia Choudry’s 13-year-old daughter, Maria, transferred recently from a public school after students repeatedly grabbed away her head scarf, but became frightened one day in January at her private Roman Catholic school when seventh-grade classmates peppered her, the only Muslim student, with questions about the Paris attacks.
“They were saying ‘Did you hear about this before the terror attack?’ And I was like, ‘No I didn’t,'” Maria said.
Saleha Qureshi, a member of the mosque, said that in the past several months, her son has been called a racial slur and a “terrorist” by his eighth-grade classmates at a public middle school.
Her son has grown anxious, she said, but does not want her to take matters to the principal. She checks up on him daily, letting him vent to her, but she’s not sure what more she ought to do.
“I’m just hoping things will change for him,” Qureshi said.
The Anti-Defamation League updated its anti-bias training activities after the Paris attacks to incorporate Islam.
One lesson plan tailored for junior and senior high school students has them discuss ways in which Muslims and Syrian refugees are being scapegoated as a result of the attacks. Another encourages students to discuss connections between stereotypes about Muslim people and acts of bigotry, as well as ways they can support Muslims.
Education officials in most of the ADL’s 27 U.S. regional offices have been reporting anti-Muslim incidents, and schools have been requesting materials to help deal with the bullying, said Jinnie Spiegler, the organization’s curriculum director. Among other efforts, the agency participated in a town hall meeting at Montgomery Blair High School in Silver Spring, Maryland, where officials said some Muslim students were being called names.
The town hall followed others at the school on topics such as Black Lives Matter, said Andrea Lamphier, a sponsor for the school’s Muslim students club. Afterward, she said, a petition drive gathered signatures from more than a third of the student body on a letter criticizing Gov. Larry Hogan for saying the state would not welcome Syrian refugees.
While schools generally do not keep statistics on motivations for bullying, a survey of 600 Muslim students in California by the [Hamas-linked – ed.] Council on American-Islamic Relations found in October, even before the latest attacks, that 55 percent reported facing religion-based bullying – a rate twice as high as the national average of students who report being bullied at school. Officials with the group say bullying reports spiked in recent months….
In some cases, teachers have taken it on themselves to hold discussions on anti-Muslim bias. Kate Sundeen, a chemistry teacher at the Academy at Palumbo magnet school in Philadelphia, helped to set up a discussion in January that was modeled on a town hall on the Black Lives Matter movement. A panel of a dozen students spoke about their experiences after the Paris attacks, including being accosted by adults in public and harassed over headscarves.
“It was heartbreaking but important and really brave of them to share these experiences,” Sundeen said.
Almost as heartbreaking as getting murdered at a Christmas party or a music concert.

Muslims consider any criticism of Islam to be a ‘crime’…which it is under Sharia law. Sharia calls verbal criticisms to be ‘mentioning something impermissible about Islam or the prophet’. A kafir who speaks a criticism of Islam is considered to be ‘at war’ (harbi) with Islam and therefore, he should be killed. It is the duty of any Muslim nearby to kill him. As well, Muslims have a duty to stop any criticism of Islam by fair means or foul, since criticism goes against Sharia. This could mean calling police and making up and a false report.
I believe many complaints made by Muslims are false reports that have a basis in a comment or criticism about Islam that is ‘impermissible’ according to Sharia.

saying over and over that ( Muslims consider us kafirs) doesn’t change minds, does it?
You recently made a false claim against me but that does not change the truth does it?
Mortimer said of me,
Saying over and over (as you do) ‘I really, really hate Islam’ doesn’t change minds, does it?
When have I ever said — “I hate Islam?”
Unlike you, I do not allow Islam enough credit to give it underserved power by claiming hate.
Islam is a disgraceful joke just like its originator the evil twisted buffoon Muhammad.
I don’t hate Islam, —- I LAUGH at Islam

Routinely idolizing Islamic text does not change that Muslims are a bunch of cry-baby grievance mongering fools.
Look at that photo mort
They must be crying because they stepped into a stinking pile of Islam and the stench is unbearable even for experience Muslims.
Muslims are buffoons and clowns just like Muhammad and his hate porn book the Qur’an.

I thought they were crying because the Kaffir woman got away. Why do Muslim males cry so much, anyway?

My uncle used to call anyone who misbehaved a “terrorist”.
A common pastime for students during breaks in wintry, cold days in my youth was to rip out someone else’s scarf and run away. When I became a teacher, I noticed that was still a common pastime among youths.
Huh, so what? Teachers are humans and have bias. A student who is constantly lying and misbehaving won’t have the same margin of trust as a student who behaves and usually speaks the truth. One can only cry wolf so many times until the people in the village stop running to their aid and instead either walk leisurely or add it to the bottom of their “to do” lists.
So basically, kids acting as kids is bullying and teachers acting upon their empirical knowledge is bullying to.
What happens when a muslim student says “allah says faggots should be killed”? Is it “bias” if a teacher reports it?
What’s the hierarchy of “marginalized groups”? I know that white, Christian males from rich families are at the bottom, but who’s on the top?
And what better way to “develop critical social skills” than not only shielding them from “bullying” (who gets to decide what’s a quip between friends and what’s bullying?) but also giving them a tool to oppress others? “Mohammad ibn Mohammad, is it true that you punched Josh Goldstein in the face? Yeah, but he called me a terrorist diaperhead so I lost control for a bit. And if he says that he didn’t or that I said ‘death to Jews’ he’s lying”.
Oh, the horror! The HORROR!!! Who wouldn’t be frightened by such a cruel display of devilry? Those knaves! Those fiends! /sarc. off
Did they updated their anti-bias training activities to incorporate Judaism after the mass stabbings of Jews by “Palestinians” in Israel, or the killing of Jews in a Jewish market in Paris?

Wondering what China, South-Korea, Singapore, Hong-Kong, Japan and all of Asia think about the futures of Europe and the U.S.A.?
Will Europe become an islamic state? How much power will muslims gain in the U.S.A.? ‘What will become of the Free World? Changing as it is. Building mosques.
Will businesses go on as before? Will the GNP/BNP remain as high as before? How will the retirement pensions be?
Will their cities become slum? What will happen to all cultural statues, buildings, paintings, the music and museums? Will be destroyed and forbidden?
What will happen to Universities and education? Will the standard be reduced and scientists and students escape to China, South-Korea, Japan, Singapore, Hong-Kong, Taiwan, the Philippine Islands, Australia and New Zealand?
What will happen to equality between women and men? Will there be war? Will there be any sports competitions? For women as well? What about human rights?
What will be? Not causing China and the rest of Asia turning the same, we hope.

If there is indeed more bullying it is because the more Americans learn about Islam, the more they understand that anyone who practices it is a threat to our American existence. I don’t agree with bullying, but children have a way of calling bullshit on bullshit truthfully that, in this case, just MAY cause the victim to look into why this is happening. Maybe, just maybe, one Muslim student will actually read the Qur’an outside of Mosque, which I am sure cherry picks the study. That one student could alter the course of Islam in America by seeing what we are talking about. We can only pray! And lastly, kids in school tease each other ceaselessly and a head skarf is prime for this because it’s not attached and doesn’t require injury to the victims person.
Hope says
So…with all this bullying and persecution and the anti-Muslim hate crimes I imagine the body count must be pretty high. Hundreds or thousands of Muslims have been murdered by hateful Americans and Europeans, right? Please! We are closing in on 28,000 terror attacks carried out by Muslims worldwide since 9/11! All in all they should feel lucky if someone merely mocks a Muslima’s hijab.
gravenimage says
Good point, Hope. Even if the whining about “Islamophobia” *were* true–which it is not–it would still be that Muslims are murdering us, while at most what happens to them is a few gibes and uncomfortable moments.
Add to that how many of even these cases are ginned up and this is just more and more absurd.

No one, Muslim or non-Muslim, should be harassed or threatened or intimidated in school…
…………………………..
No–of course not. But the very fact of so many falsified “hate crimes”–and the fact that the few such that appear plausible are along the lines of some non-violent yahoo draping slices of bacon over Mosque doorknobs–show that there aren’t enough cases for the purposes of CAIR and their ilk.
“Three fake ‘Islamophobic hate crimes’ the media ran with”

There are many, many more.

This is something I have noted *many times*. Everything from 9/11 on–Muslim atrocities resulting in *murdered Infidels*–as described as though they were attacks by the ‘filthy Kuffar’ *on Muslims*.
This is utterly outrageous, and Muslims and their apologists are almost never called on it.

…………………………..
Yes. Muslims slaughter Infidels; Muslims and their apologists wring their hands about the specter of a phantom backlash; Muslims demand that Infidels don’t just refrain from suspicion of Muslims or calling for them to condemn Jihad terror, but that they engage in elaborate shows of “solidarity” such as wearing Hijab or walking Muslims to their Mosques, thus shifting the focus from the *real* victims of Jihad to the fake victims of “Islamophaobia; rinse, repeat ad nauseam.

Now even asking questions about Jihad is considered “bullying”.
Of course, if the Infidels asking had seemed positive about Jihad terror and eager to convert, there would be no problem.

I would suggest that the US Justice Department focus on real problems, ie. Islamic terrorists planning attacks in the US rather than put so much effort to combat a non-existent problem. But you are right, they are infested with parasites.

The approved Koran, that is the Koran approved for use by mosques, is in the original Arabic. Sort of like when the Catholic Church used Latin which no one understood. So the “Worshipers” must rely on their Imam for translation which can be as vitriolic and murderous as they wish. And they wish it to be very violent. An accurate translation would show the Muslims that the Koran truly is a book which directs its followers to kill all Muslims. And if Westerners would pay attention, they would know that too.

Exactly Carolyne! Imams can’t and won’t even be honest with their own people! Whew! I think I need a drink! Hahahahahahaha!
