This refutes the claim that these jihadis were “radicalized” by our AFDI free speech event and would have been loyal, law-abiding citizens if only we hadn’t “provoked” the poor dears.
“Abdul Malik Abdul Kareem update: Brother of man who pledged allegiance to ISIS testifies in Phoenix,” by Katie Conner, ABC 15, March 2, 2016:
PHOENIX – The brother of a Phoenix man, who pledged allegiance to ISIS, testified Wednesday in Abdul Kareem’s trial.
The FBI says Kareem helped Elton Simpson and Nadir Soofi plan their attack at an anti-Mohhammed [sic] event in Garland, Texas.
Simpson and Soofi were killed during the shootout with police. Kareem was arrested about a month later in June.
In court, Nadir Soofi’s younger brother Ali, said he met Kareem when he lived with Nadir in Phoenix.
Ali testified he lived with his brother Nadir and Simpson from 2014-2015. He said Kareem would come over often and he was very vocal about his support for ISIS. Him and his brother, Kareem and Simpson would watch ISIS videos almost every day.
“Him and his brother”? Could ABC 15 find no literate reporters?
Ali recalled one ISIS video in particular, where a man was beheaded. Kareem tried to get Ali to convert back to Islam.
“In general I was an outcast in that group,” said Ali.
Ali moved out in April 2015, about a month before the foiled Texas attack.
Ali testified Simpson would communicate with Mohamed Abdullah Hassan via twitter.
After the Charlie Hebdo attack, his brother, Kareem and Simpson became more extreme.
Hassan, also known online as “Miski” is the Minnesota man, suspected of recruiting impressionable young men for terror groups like ISIS.
Authorities say “Miski” is linked to at least one domestic terror attack in the US….
