Pakistan: 100,000 attend funeral of killer of blasphemy laws foe

Mar 1, 2016 12:31 pm By Robert Spencer

Relax: it’s just a tiny minority of 100,000 extremists, chanting, “Qadri, your blood will bring the revolution” and “The punishment for a blasphemer is beheading.” Clearly the blasphemy laws, which have destroyed the lives of so many Christians and others in Pakistan, are hugely popular. No one is concerned about the human rights violations they lead to — least of all Western “human rights organizations.”

Qadri funeral

“Qadri gets martyr-like funeral; 1 lakh people turn up in Pak,” Rediff, March 1, 2016 (thanks to Lookmann):

Tens of thousands of Islamist supporters of Mumtaz Qadri chanting provocative slogans on Tuesday attended his funeral, a day after the ex-police commando was executed for killing liberal Punjab governor Salman Taseer who sought reforms in Pakistan’s controversial blasphemy law.

“Qadri, your blood will bring the revolution” and “The punishment for a blasphemer is beheading” were heard as supporters of Qadri threw flowers at the casket and flocked the historic Liaquat Bagh ground in the heart of Rawalpindi.

While a police official said that over 15,000 people were present inside the sprawling ground in the garrison city, private estimate put the number of those attending the funeral nearly 1,00,000.

The roads to Liaquat Bagh were blocked off but thousands arrived on foot. Roads around government buildings, the Parliament and diplomatic compounds were also closed.

Supporters of Mumtaz Qadri shower rose pastels on an ambulance carrying the body of Qadri for funeral in Rawalpindi, Pakistan.

The gathering was peaceful as the ambulance carrying the body inched through the sea of supporters to the burial site at Qadri’s ancestral village near Bhara Kahu in suburbs of Islamabad.

Pakistan remained on high alert as security personnel were deployed at all main junctions and sensitive areas in the capital and the adjacent Rawalpindi to avoid any untoward incident as some supporters were also seen carrying sticks.

“Special measures have been taken to check any untoward incident,” an interior ministry official said. Fearing violence by Qadri’s supporters, most of the private schools in twin cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad have been closed for a second day.

Former police commando Qadri, who shot Taseer 28 times in broad daylight in an upmarket locality of Islamabad in 2011, was hanged in Adialia jail in Rawalpindi on Monday.

His execution triggered protests by thousands of Islamists who called it a “black day”. Within hours of the hanging, street protests broke out in several cities by the supporters of Qadri, who considered him as a hero for defending the faith.

The supporters blocked roads and forced many shopkeepers to close down their stores.

The biggest protest was held in Karachi with around 8,000 people taking to the streets….

It is impossible for Islam apologists to honestly dignify an ideology that wants to rob us of our dignity because Islam has absolutely no dignity of its own.

      Easy.

There are 1.7 billion mussies on Earth. Only 100, 000 attended this funeral,
100,000 is a tiny minority of 1.7 billion
Therefore, only a tiny minority support this Qadri bloke.

Do I get my plush job at the NYT and Theresa May lunchbox now?

Muslim countries are hellish. Islam is a euphemism for ‘slavery’.

The mourners at the funeral support slavery.

The blasphemy punishment in Sharia law is death for the blasphemer. Anyone at all has permission to carry out the execution of the blasphemer without consequences…even a kafir may murder a Muslim blasphemer, because the Muslim has in theory become a kafir by blaspheming.

Sharia permits the murder of anyone who verbally opposes Islam, since they are at war with Islam:
“There is no indemnity obligatory for killing a non-Muslim (harbi) at war with Muslims.” -Reliance of the Traveller, o4.17, p.593

    Another Sharia manual states:

“We have already discussed killing the person who, with intent, curses the Prophet, belittles him or slights him in any way. The judgement in this case is clear.” (i.e. the sentence is execution)- from Sharia law manual, “Qadhi Iyaadh in ash-Shifa”, Volume No.2, Page No. 27

The scriptural defense of the above is the following:

    – K.33.57 “Cursed they will be. Wherever they are found, they are seized and slain.”

    – A’li ibn Abi Talib reported that Nabi (saw) said “Whoever curses a prophet kill him. Whoever curses my companions beat him.” (TABARAANI, DARAQUTNI)

A few in each of the cities/suburbs, etc.

It would help the gene pool; and lower the terrorist numbers.

Well- maybe- back to m y statement ” a few”–perhaps more then a few- just to be sure.

    • TheBuffster says

      Mar 2, 2016 at 8:39 am

Davegreybeard and Don Spilman, the guy who was murdered was a “modernist” (actually, a socialist) who opposed the blasphemy law, which is why he was murdered. I don’t know whether he was Muslim or not, but he was a Pakistani governor who was against the blasphemy law and had stood up against Asia Bibi’s death sentence. Hence, there is civil strife in Pakistan between those who want to move away from Sharia and those who want to abide by it.

More on Salmaan Taseer, the governor who was murdered (by his own bodyguard): https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Salmaan_Taseer

EXCERPT: “The assassin Malik Mumtaz Hussain Qadri was from Punjab, and was part of the security detail provided to Taseer by the Elite Police. After the shooting, Qadri threw his weapon down and put his hands up when one of his colleagues aimed at him. He reportedly pleaded to be arrested. Qadri reportedly said he killed Taseer due to the latter’s vocal opposition to the blasphemy law in Pakistan. Taseer was against the blasphemy law and termed it a black law. Notably, Taseer made headlines when he favoured the Christian Pakistani woman, Asia Bibi, who had been sentenced to death for blasphemy. It was suspected that this was the main reason for his assassination. After the murder, more than five-hundred clerics voiced support for the crime and urged a general boycott of Taseer’s funeral. Supporters of Mumtaz Qadri blocked police attempting to bring him to the Anti-Terrorism Court in Rawalpindi, and some supporters showered him with rose petals. On 1 October 2011, Qadri was sentenced to death by a Pakistani Anti Terrorist court at Islamabad for murdering Taseer. Qadri was executed on 29 February 2016”

Clearly, the people in government prosecuted and executed the man who shot anti-blasphemy-law Governor Taseer. Five hundred clerics, on the other hand, supported the religiously motivated killer.

Clearly, Pakistanis are not all raving Shariah supporters, and some that are not hold high positions in government.

“Clearly, Pakistanis are not all raving Shariah supporters, and some that are not hold high positions in government.”

That seems right. Another country divided on/by Islam, like the USA.
I wonder if the Pakistani government monitors the “five hundred clerics” Friday prayers.

      • Jack Diamond says

        Mar 2, 2016 at 4:47 pm

Taseer was a Muslim, albeit a “cultural” Muslim or “secular” Muslim, the kind non-Muslims put hopes in even though: a) he’d dead b) he privately had no faith c) despite his belief Islam has no place in the modern public square he was a supporter of jihad causes from Kashmir to “Palestine” not to mention the “cause” of Pakistan. Unfortunately, Pakistan is a country dominated by Real Muslims, who know very well what Islam teaches about blasphemy and Taseer was murdered for supporting a blasphemer (technically he just requested her pardon). Nor were things so wonderful when the “modernists” took charge, after opposing the vile General Zia. Taseer was an advisor to Benazir Bhutto. See, A. Q. Khan, nuclear North Korea, the failure to repeal the Hudood Ordinance under Bhutto.
Ask any Christian in Pakistan how “divided” they think Pakistan is.

In 2014, a mosque was built in Islamabad named after Qadri.
During Qadri’s 2011 appearance in court, over 300 lawyers offered to do his case for free.
His pictured face appears as if shaped after the prophet Muhammad’s advice: hadith No.69, book 2, Sahih Muslim: “…Prophet: ‘trim closely (your) mustache, grow beard'”.

Islam has to have blasphemy laws in order to reinforce the idea of the holiness of Islam.
Islam’s holiness is Blasphemy, and the Unseen, and the Crescent that belonged to everyone at one time, and Allah the top pagan god in those days, and misogyny.
    Oh, forgot the morality-

How desperate are these folks for entertainment that they crowd together, standing room only, with 100,000 strangers bumping into them from every side, so they can strain to see the top of an ambulance pass by several hundred feet away? Nothing else better to do in Pakistan–for 100,000 people? The excitement of going to a funeral?

This is what nearly everybody in non Muslim countries don’t know: a significant percentage of Muslims in your society supports jihadist causes to a greater or lesser extent. This percentage is larger in Muslim countries.

There are none so blind as those who do not want to see and as deaf as those who do not want to hear.

Get my shot gun, chain gun cannon, tobacco, machete, RPG and blow fire… we got some Islombies we got to take care off. ALSO GET DUKE NUKEM ON THE LINE WHILE YOU ARE AT IT.

Islombies are more dead then even Zombies while considering the fact that zombies are purely fictional and Islombies are menacingly real.
