“I will tell you, I’ve been talking about this a long time, and look at Brussels. Brussels was a beautiful city, a beautiful place with zero crime. And now it’s a disaster city. It’s a total disaster, and we have to be very careful in the United States, we have to be very careful and very vigilant as to who we allow in this country.” He is right about this — whatever else he is wrong about. This is why his campaign is resonating with so many people.
“Donald Trump: Brussels ‘just the beginning,'” by David Wright, CNN, March 22, 2016:
(CNN)Donald Trump reacted to the explosions that rocked Brussels Tuesday morning, describing the scene as a “disaster” and warning that “this is just the beginning.”
The Republican front-runner, who has made immigration and security issues central to his 2016 presidential bid, discussed the reported suicide attacks in an interview on Fox News’ “Fox and Friends.”
“I will tell you, I’ve been talking about this a long time, and look at Brussels,” Trump said. “Brussels was a beautiful city, a beautiful place with zero crime. And now it’s a disaster city. It’s a total disaster, and we have to be very careful in the United States, we have to be very careful and very vigilant as to who we allow in this country. ”
Trump ‘fine’ with waterboarding
In an another interview, Trump also said he would be “fine” with waterboarding Salah Abdeslam, one of the leaders of the Paris attacks several months ago who was just captured in Brussels, in order to get more information on potential future attacks.
“Well I’m not looking to break any news on your show, but frankly the waterboarding, if it was up to me, and if we changed the laws or have the laws, waterboarding would be fine,” the Republican front-runner said on NBC’s “Today” show. “I would say they should be able to do whatever they have to do.”
“You know, we work within laws. They don’t work within laws — they have no laws. We work within laws. The waterboarding would be fine, and if they could expand the laws, I would do a lot more than waterboarding,” he said.
Trump has vacillated in his campaign about whether or not he would pursue using waterboarding — which is considered torture and thus illegal. After getting criticized by former national security officials, Trump said he would instead seek to expand the laws, presumably to make such tactics legal.
‘Armed camp’
On Fox, he described Brussels now as an “armed camp.”
“If you went into Brussels 20 years ago, it was like a magical city. Now you look at it, it’s an armed camp,” Trump said. “You want to lead your life, you don’t want to be living in an armed camp for your whole life. And there is a certain group of people that is making living a normal life impossible.”
Though the identity of any suspects related to the explosions is not yet known, Trump was quick to link the attacks to Muslim refugees and migrants from the Middle East who have flooded into Europe as a result of Syria’s civil war and turmoil in the region.
“It’s going to get worse and worse. In my opinion, this is just the beginning. It will get worse and worse because we are lax and we are foolish — we can’t allow these people, at this point we cannot allow these people to come into our country. I’m sorry,” he said. “This is a story that just seems to be more and more happening and it’s really not very pretty to watch.”…

As a businessman with 40 years plus of success and set-backs, wins and losses, and coming out of it a multi-billionaire and #1 candidate for the Presidency of the United States in complete defiance of $1.5 billion dollars worth of negative attacks against him by mainstream media, Trump has learned the hard way many, many, many times over that the LAST thing he can afford to do is have his head up his ass at any time. He has to know what’s going on, know what’s happening, and be in the zeitgeist. He is the man of the moment, in the moment, at the moment that America needs him.

We need someone like Trump who is going to put it bluntly to them because that’s the only language they understand.
We need him to be willing to change laws in order to do what he has to. We can’t just say that it’s not legal so we can’t do it. WE HAVE TO MAKE IT LEGAL.
Trump knows that.

Cruz and Beck were giving out Teddy Bears at the border recently. This doesn’t sound like very strong on the border. Also we don’t need a good debater nor a Harvard Lawyer. We already have a Harvard lawyer running the country.
Trump has made his success living in the hard cold real world. He is a total realist. We need a realist to save our collective arses, since it seems that everyone has gone completely nuts.
Lee says
I believe that is a somewhat deceptive statement about the teddy bears and soccer balls. First it was in July 2014. Now, if I had said Trump did something like, say he was a proponent of amnesty for illegals In 2014 you would likely say that’s old news and he’s evolved. Second, it was to children he was giving the teddy bears. But it was also medical supplies. Many of those children had been abused along the way. Third, this was not done in a vacuum, it was done on the Texas border in full view of Texas voters. Those same voters overwhelmingly affirmed their belief in Sen. CRUZ over Trump in the Texas primary despite having Democrats helping Trump. So it do doesn’t look like the people closest to the issue shared your belief about the event. Fourth, Trump has already walked back his plans for The Wall; now it will only be half a wall, leaving Texas open since there’s the “natural barrier” of the Rio Grande River which of course prevents immigration over it.

The Establishment Will Use Every Un-Ethical Ploy It Can To Defeat One Man…Why.
It now appears the GOP establishment doesn’t even really want to win the White House after all – if it’s a President Trump – because all the rules will change and their business-as-usual network will fall apart.
South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham said Sunday that winning the 2016 presidential election should take a back seat to stopping Donald Trump from destroying the Republican Party by becoming its presidential nominee.
This follows comments by GOP official Curly Haugland, who said on CNBC that it appears we’re headed into a contested convention. In his words, “The media has created the perception that the voters choose the nomination. That’s the conflict here.”
Even if GOP frontrunner Donald Trump clinches the 1,237 delegates to win the nomination outright, the party will fight like wild to steal it from him by changing the rules at the convention.
In a number of states, the Republican chairman is essentially placing non-Trump people into Trump delegate slots.
Under the party rules, anyone can register to be a delegate. You don’t have to really be ‘a Trump supporter.’ While those delegates would be bound by the results of primaries or caucuses to vote for Trump on the first ballot, they are not bound on procedural matters like the rules.”
“So, the idea is to have a majority against Trump prior to the first ballot, which you could essentially lay the groundwork for the big steal, by passing rules that are detrimental to Trump, or by unseating Trump delegates,” he said. “The rules committee could theoretically say, states that allowed Democrats and independents to vote without changing their registration to Republican — those delegates would be disallowed.”
When then asked why we should even bother holding primaries, he replied “that’s a very good question.”
If the Establishment is this desperate to stop America From Electing The President they
Want…He Has Got To Be The RIGHT ONE.
The Establishment Is Not Just Trying To Stop One Man, But Free American Voters.
So let us look at the voters behind this Man, Not the fabricated nonsense view His enemies would want to attribute to Him…but the many millions of real People who deserve better.
What motivates All these followers…what does He spend most of His
time talking about at His rallies…let’s look at that and decide.
Watch several hours of His speeches. You’ll hear Mr. Trump spend nearly all of his time talking about an entirely legitimate issue, Yes, Donald Trump talking about trade. In fact, to judge by how much time he spends talking about it, trade may be his single biggest concern.
Trade…It seems to obsess him: the destructive free-trade deals our leaders have made, the many companies that have moved their production facilities to other lands, the phone calls he will make to those companies’ CEOs in order to threaten them with steep tariffs unless they move back to America.
Under his leadership, the government would “start competitive bidding in the drug industry”. We don’t competitively bid!” on anything He marveled – another true fact.
Trump extended the critique to the military-industrial complex, describing how the government is forced to buy lousy but expensive equipment thanks to the power of industry lobbyists…and why our spending is wasted.
Sure He did hint at his curious selling proposition: because he is personally so wealthy,
Trump himself is unaffected by business lobbyists and donations. And because he is free
from the corrupting power of modern campaign finance, famous deal-maker Trump
can make deals on our behalf that are “good” instead of “bad”…Maybe He will…
We better hope someone does…and Now.
Could it be that all this trade stuff is a key to understanding the Trump phenomenon?
Trade is an issue that polarizes Americans by socio-economic status. To the professional class, which encompasses the vast majority of our media figures, economists, Washington officials and powerbrokers, what they call “free trade” is something so obviously good and noble it doesn’t require explanation or inquiry or even thought. Republican and Democratic leaders alike agree on this, and no amount of facts
can move them from their Econ 101 dream…Many Sweet Deals…if good for American jobs or Not.
To the remaining 90% of America, trade means something very different.
He’s telling a tale as much about economic outrage about people excited by the prospect of a President who seems to mean it when he denounces our trade agreements and promises to bring the hammer down on the likes of so many outrageous establishment followers…who sold us out…for personal gain.
Here is the most salient supporting fact: when people talk to working-class Trump supporters, instead of simply imagining what they might say, they find that what most concerns these people is the economy and their place in it.
I am referring to a study just published by Working America, which interviewed working-class voters in the suburbs of our major cities who Support Donald Trump, the group found, support ran strong among these people, even among self-identified Democrats.
Their favorite aspect of Trump was his “attitude”, the blunt and forthright way he talks.
As far as issues are concerned, their number one concern: “good jobs / the economy”.
“People are frightened is how the findings were described by Karen Nussbaum, the executive director of Working America. The survey “confirmed what we heard all the time: people are fed- up, people are hurting, they are very distressed about the fact that their kids don’t have a future” and that “there still hasn’t been a recovery from the recession, that every family still suffers from it in one way or another.”
Instead of allowing the establishment’s propaganda to affect our opinion…
Let’s Look at it this way…If Ordinary People Want Him and If The Elite Establishment
Is terrified by Him…Do We Back This Man First To Let The Establishment Know We Know…and second let Him work on these things that can create more jobs and security.
Free America Must Not Roll Over This Time And Say Oh Well It Is just The Way It Is…
Our Hope And The Hope Of All Our Allies Depends On This One Real Chance To Survive…If The Establishment Wins…They Will Insure A chance like This Never Comes Again.

Muslims have no option but to support jihad terrorism, since it is the sacred example of Mohammed which is obligatory for all Muslims to imitate.
– Quote from ‘The Neglected Duty’ (Al Faridah al Ghaibah) by Muhammad Faraj.
“Jihad (struggle) for Allah’s cause, in spite of its extreme importance and its great significance for the future of this religion, has been NEGLECTED by the ‘ulama (leading Muslim scholars) of this age. They have feigned ignorance of it, but they know that it is the only way to the return and the establishment of the glory of Islam anew. Every Muslim preferred his own favorite ideas and philosophies above the Best Road, which God–Praised and Exalted He is–drew Himself (a road that leads back) to (a state of) Honor for His Servants. There is no doubt that the idols of this world can only be made to disappear through THE POWER OF THE SWORD. It is therefore that the Apostle Muhammad said: “I have been sent with the SWORD at this hour, so that God alone is worshipped”.
All Western elites must now admit that Islam is the RELIGION OF THE SWORD.

Well no he isn’t, but no doubt he’s the only one you would consider. He’s certainly the only one who said he would be neutral regarding Israel and that US should get out of NATO. And that he would deal with Iran. He did say those things. And how that equates to being strong on defense agaisnt Islamic terrorism I simply cannot fathom. When you say you’re going to pull out and not take a side with your historical allies, just don’t see how that makes for rah rah protect the USA.
TamIAm says
None of the candidates fully understand the threat of Islam.
Trump says politically incorrect things about it and has proposed a temporary ban on Muslim immigration but then he said that that and all his other policies are “flexible” and “negotiable” and he doesn’t see that he’s dealing with Islamic jihadists in Israel (Hamas AND the PLO) and Iran and thinks he can make business deals with them like he thinks he can make with everyone else. He also denounced Pamela Geller for the Motoon contest she hosted with Robert Spencer which got attacked by ISIS terrorists. He didn’t stand up for free speech against Islamic blasphemy laws then.
Cruz denounced Trump’s call for a temporary ban on Muslim immigration and disagreed with him that “Islam hates us” saying we must fight radical Islam and work together with moderate Muslims like Al-Sisi in Egypt. Al-Sisi would be a good ally, he has called for Islamic reform but insisting on the distinction between radical and moderate Islam is crippling. He denounced Trump for creating a “climate” that encouraged violence in his campaign and blamed Trump’s rally being attacked by Leftist thugs and agitators on Trump, that is anti-free speech and will only help those who want to advance Islam and Sharia. Then again he says he’ll unequivocally stand with Israel and that it’s moral relativism to equate suicide bombers with Israelis defending themselves and says he’ll tear up the Iran deal as soon as he’s elected. This is the type of attitude a president needs to face terrorism. He also defended Pamela Geller in her right to have a Motoon contest, in that instance standing up for freedom of speech.
Either way, all the other (currently running) candidates besides Trump and Cruz are much, much worse than them on these issues. Hillary lied about Benghazi terror attacks, blamed them on a youtube video and took the opportunity, with Obama, to denounce the freedom of speech and essentially advocate for Islamic blasphemy laws, she has signed on to a U.N. resolution to criminalize “defamation of religion” and to get around 1A has said she’ll use “old fashioned public shaming” to stop people “defaming religion” a.k.a insulting or criticizing Islam. Her top advisor, Huma Abedin has ties to the Muslim Brotherhood and she has said that saying we’re fighting “radical Islam” is too harsh because it sounds like we’re “at war with a religion”. I could go on and on about how bad she is.
So, even though none of the candidates are all around great on this issue, Trump or Cruz would still be worlds better than Hillary and as the presidential race will probably come down to Trump or Cruz vs. Killary, I still think we should all vote for the Hillary alternative whoever that is.

Walter Sieruk says
The bombing in Brussels today leads to an important question: is the Quran the Word of God or is it a fabrication of a man ?. Thus, is the Quran the truth or a fiction and a hoax ? The jihadists use many verses from the Quran as the main source of justification for their violence, mayhem and murders. As seen in 4:89. 5:33. 9:5,111,123. 47:4. The information is clearly given on pages 145 through 157 in THE ISLAMIC INVASION by Robert Morey in which he wrote a section on the Quran with its self-contradictions. Just two of the many he cited are the following “The Quran differs on whether a day is a thousand years or fifty thousand years in God’s sight’ and “Who was first to believe? Abraham or Moses [Sura 6:14 versus 7:143]? The above is inconsistent and illogical. Further, Morey wrote about “The fact that Judaism and Christianity broke up into different sects was used in the Quran to prove that they are not of God [Suras 30:20-32. 42:13, 14]. Yet Islam has broken up into many warring sects and therefore cannot be true if the Quran is right.” Moreover, Morey in his book shows many more contradictions and absurdities in the Quran, there are and how Muhammad incorporated extra Biblical and Jewish folklore along with pre-Islamic Arabian myth and parts of Zoroastrian and Hindu stories into the Quran. Furthermore, the Muslims claim that “the Quran is the direct, literal word of God unmodified in any way by the Prophet who uttered them at the bidding of God.” Nevertheless, in the book UNVEILING ISLAM by Ergun Mehmet and Eethi Caner has shown that the Quran was modified in the following account on pages 45. “Muhammad felt the need to improve on the words of Allah, since he changed Allah’s wisdom for his own on several occasions. A hadith tells of the nonchalant emendations of Muhammad:’ On a number of occasions he [a scribe] had, with the Prophet’s consent changed the closing words of verses. For example, when the prophet had said ‘God is mighty and wise ‘ Adbollah b. Abi Sarh suggested writing down ‘Knowing and wise’ and the Prophet answered that there was no objection. Having observed a succession of changes of this type, Adbollah renounced Islam on the grounds that revelations, if from God could not be changed at the prompting of a scribe such as himself. After his apostasy he went to Mecca and joined the Qorayshites.’ Other writers reveal that later Muhammad and his people did go war with the Qorayshites and he personally killed Abdollah. Obviously Abdollah knew too much and Muhammad wanted Abdollah’s knowledge to die with him.” In conclusion, the Quran is not only a fiction, it’s also a hoax.

Such jihad suicide /homicide bombings today in Brussels raises the question is as to why are the jihadist bombers are , so very, delusional that they actually want to become human bombs ? Some of the reasons are that such violent and deadly people are the outcome of the extreme brainwashing that is done in Islamic mind programming centers which are more widely known as mosques and madrasas, by the Muslim clerics, such as the imams and in some countries as Afghanistan and Iran also the mullahs. In those Islamic mind programming centers youth are thoroughly indoctrinated into believing in the Islamic doctrine from the Koran. as found in 44;54. 5:56. 78:31.., of a sexual/lust filled paradise with many virgins, houris, in it for the Muslim male who dies fighting for the cause of Islam in the jihad. First and foremost, those who come out of those places of extreme brainwash are so very warped, sick and deluded that they actually view such murderous bombing attacks as “martyrdom operations” Likewise, they are so very damaged that they have literally become dangerous to self and others. In addition, the Bible does warn about false teachers who ingrain a belief in a doctrine of a story of a /lustful/lust-filled place with much sex in it. For the Bible warns about false teachers, the Muslim clerics do fit this description, in Second Peter 2:18. Which reads “For they speak great swelling words of vanity, they allure through the lusts of the flesh…” Furthermore, many a times a jihad –minded Muslim in his death recording talks about “the wedding with the virgins” that he will have after he becomes a “martyr.” Such a belief Jesus would denounce as being based on false doctrine and false teaching. For Jesus taught “Ye do err, not knowing the scripture, nor the power of God. For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angles in heaven.” Mathew 22:29, 30. In contrast to the delusional Islamic pipedream of the jihadist in the Koranic story/doctrine of a place with virgins, Christians have the reality of Second Peter 1:16. Which reads “For we have not followed cunningly devised fables, when we made known unto you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ…” [K.J.V.]

From first hand testimony, namely ME, we were waterboarding our own troops in “prisoner of war” simulations at FT. Clayton, Canal Zone in 1968. I was there, and went through this “training,” at “Jungle Warfare School,” prior to being sent to Viet Nam.
Waterboarding was ubiquitous in the U.S. military in this type of training. I have had it personally confirmed to me that it was in use in the late 90’s in Navy pilot “escape and evasion” training.
WATERBOARDING WORKS!
OUR MILITARY KNOWS THIS FROM OUR OWN TRAINING SCENARIOS – IT IS WHY IT WAS USED IN THE FIRST PLACE!
Waterboarding only became “torture” when mendacious Democrats declared it as such and then used it as a political weapon to cudgel their political opponents.
That waterboarding is torture, is another lie, in the long list of lies, used by those who would destroy our freedom and our country.

With you again, Davegreybeard. Pulling fingernails out or cutting off an ear, etc. is torture. Waterboarding is a form of intense interrogation. Huge difference.

Trump: Brussels an “armed camp,” today’s jihad attacks “just the beginning”
………………………
Donald Trump is not wrong. Kudos to him for saying this.
Jan says
I don’t think they’re going to give Trump the nomination. They’ll get together and pick someone else. Trump is widely regarded as a demagogue and a lunatic, and any solution that he proposes to the very real problem of terrorism is likely to make the situation even worse.
My own feelings about Trump are mixed. I can understand the emotional appeal of a guy like Trump, but listening to demagogues who have easy solutions to difficult problems is a very dangerous policy. I think that if he is outnumbered by his opponents at the time of the convention, they should probably give someone else the nomination.
gravenimage says
I have mixed feelings–at best–about Donald Trump myself. But if the Republican Party takes the nomination away from Trump after he has gained the delegates–as seems likely–then they will hopelessly divide the party. I don’t think they will take that step–it would be suicidal.
Wellington says
I have mixed feelings too about Trump, gravenimage. He certainly doesn’t have enough knowledge in several areas and often times there is no filter between his brain and his mouth but, damn, he does seem to have the right instincts and he also seems to have the capacity, though ignorant, to learn fast. Besides, leftists in hysterics is one of my favorite spectator sports and thus this is another plus I have to extend to Trump.

Agreed, Wellington.

My two cents? Speaking as an Aussie with no dog in the fight ( barring of course the fact that it has been very frightening watching the good ship USA – Australia’s most important international ally – floundering under Obama’s captaincy; I have felt more and more unsafe, the longer Obama has been in power) I have this observation: Trump doesn’t feel like ‘Dhimmi’ material. His whole personality type goes against it… whereas our current Aussie PM, Turnbull, Mr Bland, and the likes of Cameron and Trudeau, have the cringing and fawning and grovelling and obedient jizya-paying down pat.
Can anyone imagine a President Trump bowing low to the king of Saudi Arabia, as Obama did?

Hi Mark, Yes, I read your post–interesting comments.
As I noted, though, while the Republican Party *can* take the nomination away from Donald Trump, I doubt very much despite the party’s general dislike of him that they will. He is pretty certain to take the delegates he needs, and while that does not guarantee him the nomination, it does prove his popularity.
In the end, I believe they will realize that for good or ill they have a popular candidate, and that they would have more to lose than gain by dumping him–especially because the second runner–Ted Cruz–is also unpopular with much of the party base.
I think the party itself would have been much more comfortable with a John Kasich, Jeb Bush, or even Marco Rubio–but it hasn’t worked out that way.
I think deals in the proverbial smoky back room were a lot easier to make before 24-hour news coverage. And Trump would *not* be apt to go quietly…
Whatever else this election is likely to be, it won’t be dull.

“I will tell you, I’ve been talking about this a long time, and look at Brussels. Brussels was a beautiful city, a beautiful place with zero crime. And now it’s a disaster city. It’s a total disaster, and we have to be very careful in the United States, we have to be very careful and very vigilant as to who we allow in this country.”

Indeed, Donald is right, and his ‘common sense’ approach is such a welcome Change (the big Zero would never take this tack). And of course Trump will get my vote if he’s the GOP; but his oompa-loompa look is just so *wrong*, and I find it very distracting. Am I the only one? Ok, his appearance is not a big deal among the truly important issues that we face as a country. I’m just sayin’ …
‘Common sense’ making a come back? …especially where islam & company’s concerned! I hope so. Finally.

I remember my first visit to Brussels in the late 70s. It was such a beautiful, comfortable, safe city. I wandered the streets as a young woman with no fear, with no anxiety. Why do the sickly leaders of these countries and cities want to turn them into armed police states by opening their arms to their bitter, stated, enemies? This sort of self-loathing is inexplicable and untenable.

As pictures come out of Trump, to discredit, I am sure there are many more that involve the top current office holders which should really be more of a concern….so if Trump is aware of these posting he should make a statement about the doctrine…if he is aware.
The recent attacks are despicable jihad, this is only connected to one religion.

Trump says we must be very careful who we let in to our country.
Of course, but we must have ways to hold elected officials and bureaucrats responsible for who they let in. There must be personal consequences aside from the ballot box, or things are not likely to change. Obama is personally responsible for those he releases from Gitmo, but he will not be held accountable.
Those who let in our enemies or free them, knowingly or through negligance or by a pay off or by their own ideology, must be accountable. The liberal ideologues and vote mongers are an enormous part of the problem, and an impediment to domestic tranqulity.

We know our friends at Jihadwatch and Mr. Trump have had differences in the past. I have never watched a Donald Trump tv program. I did start paying attention to him when I went to his Campagin 2016 position papers and read them and I was favorable impressed. He seems to really NOW grasp this muslim immigration/refugee resettlement program problem. At least he is saying and he HAS SAID, we need to PAUSE this influx of muslims from the mid-east. Well, the HATE Mail from the LEFT FLOODED in. I was further impressed with the man. I hope not to be disappointed, but he holds steady on illegal immigration and stopping the flood that we taxpayers are continually funding – at home and our jobs washed out to China and South American and other parts of the third world where they plan to just jihad kill us, but want our money also.

Well maybe not DIRECTLY at the “SOURCE” of the problem, but it sure quickens the PATH to the source of the problem.
It’s amazingly efficient and effective too.

As i sit in southern India and typing this messag,, I would like to tell you that despite his gaffes, trump is the best hope we have right now.
