Exposing the role that Islamic jihad theology and ideology play in the modern global conflicts

Bangladesh: Two Hindus jailed for defaming Islam

Apr 28, 2016 12:45 am By Robert Spencer

We are much more enlightened in the West. We have the freedom of speech. We don’t jail people for defaming Islam. We only vilify them as “racists” and “Islamophobes,” and try to have them barred from polite society. Everyone knows if we just don’t provoke the poor Muslims, they will not attack, and all will be well and all manner of thing will be well. So this sort of behavior from these Hindus couldn’t be tolerated, now, could it?

Bangladesh Muslims

“2 Hindu teachers jailed in Bangladesh for defaming Islam,” UdayavaniEnglish.com, April 27, 2016 (thanks to Lookmann):

Dhaka: Two Hindu teachers in Bangladesh have been jailed for six months for making blasphemous comments about Islam under a colonial-era law that makes insulting any religion a crime in the Muslin-majority [sic] country.

A court in southwestern Bagerhat of Muslim sentenced the two teachers — Krishnapada Mouli and assistant teacher Ashok Kumar — of Hijla High School to six months over remarks that sparked anger among people in the neighbourhood, reports and officials said.

“One of the teachers made some abusive remarks about Islam in the classroom earlier this week…His remarks spread, sparking an outrage among the people in the neighbourhood,” a local journalist told PTI.

The headmaster of the school, who also is a follower of Hindu faith, stood by his colleague after some parents protested against the remarks.

“At one point of altercations they virtually confined the two teachers inside the school,” he said.

“Being informed about the situation, the UNO (administrative head of the sub-district) and executive magistrate rushed to the scene, freed them from the confinement and handed them down the sentence by staging a mobile court at the scene,” he said.

Under a law framed during the British period, insulting any religion is treated as a criminal offence in Bangladesh.

It is commonly claimed that Pakistan’s blasphemy laws and similar laws on the subcontinent come from the British. If that is true, why don’t the British and other former British colonies have similar laws?

Every time I think of islam I feel insulted, especially in its elevation of superstition to a ‘sacred’ text, its treatment of women, and its murderousness toward people who have come to their senses and want to LEAVE the so-called religion.

Why is it that any set of beliefs, however cockamamy, can call itself a ‘religion’ and automatically claim and gain respect? Even now, in the 21st century when we really should know better.

Latter day religions, such as Scientology, are examined on the evidence and shown to be shams and cons, founded by persons of dubious mental health who want power and wealth. Their adherents are regarded as gullible fools.

Yet, any claptrap religion that originated more than a thousand years ago is treated as sacrosanct, just because over time it has managed to brainwash millions of babies or intimidate millions of conquered peoples into believing it. Of course, if it has some ‘holy’ book to wave around, it’s even more successful, even though it was written by men who had a fraction of the knowledge we have today about the way the world works. The koran contains nothing but the ramblings of a psychopath in conversation with an imaginary demon that lived in his head.

Some religions are less harmful and destructive than others; some used to border on insanity but became civilised over the centuries; some were never a threat to anyone; some manage to keep their superstitions to themselves and don’t care if anyone else shares or submits to them.

islam is in none of the above categories: it is a disease of the mind that wishes to spread and infect the whole human population of the planet by violence and domination. As such, it is a serious threat and serious efforts need to be made to eradicate it.

The mere accusation of blasphemy in a Muslim-majority country is a virtual death sentence. Islamists and their jihadi thugs will believe whatever is convenient (regular courts of law be damned!) The vigilante thugs and mobs will silence the blasphemers for ever. Police (as good Muslims) will look the other way. Lawyers (as good Muslims) will not defend the accused. Lawyers with the courage to defend accused blasphemers will be targets for the vigilantes.

The prime minister of Bangladesh is to be severely criticized for failing to stand up for minority human rights in Bangla Desh. Her caving in to the supremacists means she has actually given them the green light to take the law into their own hands as Islamic vigilantes.

The president and prime minister of Bangladesh have a duty to defend minorities and are seriously failing in those duties.

One of the most serious problems with Islam is the vigilantism that was authorized by Mohammed himself and thus cannot be removed from or reformed out of Islam.

      The mere accusation of blasphemy…

Yeah, it reminds me of Orwell’s “1984” where the mere accusation of a child could get you thrown in prison for thinking the wrong thoughts. We see the same oppressive quashing of rights and liberties in islamic countries, like Saudi Arabia, Iran, and Pakistan. And this is what they are bringing to our nation, our schools, our neighborhoods, demonic teachings of hate and murder that kill or frighten free expression. We should fight it with everything we got or we’ll end up like the Middle East, a sewer of barbaric ignorance and religious tyranny.

…In Mrs. Parsons’s apartment, Winston is tormented by the fervent Parsons children, who, being Junior Spies, accuse him of thoughtcrime. The Junior Spies is an organization of children who monitor adults for disloyalty to the Party, and frequently succeed in catching them—Mrs. Parsons herself seems afraid of her zealous children. The children are very agitated because their mother won’t let them go to a public hanging of some of the Party’s political enemies in the park that evening. Back in his apartment, Winston remembers a dream in which a man’s voice—O’Brien’s, he thinks—said to him, “We shall meet in the place where there is no darkness.” Winston writes in his diary that his thoughtcrime makes him a dead man, then he hides the book. –from “1984”

…our future could very much be like that if islam is allowed to grow. Look at Europe, look at the self-censorship and the “doublespeak” already used to hide the truth about the “religion of peace.” This is the direction we’re headed, people are already afraid to speak. They might lose their job, get sued, blacklisted, or even jailed and fined. Too many of us are already “Winston.” 1984 is already here, just not to the extent it will be if islam’s sick agenda grows to maturity. I wish it were all fiction, but sadly it’s all too true.

        Apr 28, 2016 at 6:19 pm

I read “1984” some 50 years ago, back then I saw it as a simple tale of one mans fight against the system. I have recently re-read this book with a totally different understanding. The prophesies are just so true even though the technologies may be not quite as Orwell predicted. Just replace Orwell’s “Telescreen” with today’s ubiquitous surveillance cameras together with monitoring of our internet use and/or mobile phone use and we are well on the way to Orwell’s future. The “Thought Police” are the present watchdogs of our human rights and anti-discrimination laws or Islamic blasphemy laws.
Children spying on their parents was the norm in the Soviet era, I am sure spying on family would still be practiced in the Islamic world.
“1984” prophesied the rise of militant feminism, except that in the novel when Mediterranean refugee boats were bombed, the feminists cheered, today together with all the other SJWs they would seem to welcome them.
I certainly recommend a re-read of “1984” to all of those who are concerned about the way our society is heading or to those who are considering voting for Hillary.

Europe is getting just as bad. The persecution of Wilders in the Netherlands is a good example of how repressive their laws can be. And now the arrest in Germany over of a f*cking poem! And the Elisabeth Sabaditsch-Wolff case in Austria. There’s so many others. And now in Britain they have sharia zones where roaming gangs of muslim thugs attack infidels for acting too un-islamic, try and speak the ugly truth there! You’d be dead, bruised, or missing.

I’m glad I live in a country with a 1st Amendment. The truth shouldn’t have to stay hidden for religious stupidity or to appease ignorant and violent people. Any religion that teaches murder and hate of non-believers is retarded and evil and it should be an inalienable right to say that. Islam expresses the most vile hatred and violence toward others and for all the wrong reasons, but nobody is passing laws against that! Instead the more enlightened among us are muzzled as bigots and racists for doing their duty to speak against it! Appeasing evil is a growing trend and it has the power to destroy us.

Allah’s bad teachings and influence in history may be our best evidence for the devil’s existence. No entity has done as much to corrupt humanity with hate and murder. Hate speech laws that protect such ideas are themselves hate speech against good morals and truth, enforced with prison and fines. We need to let our traitors know that their war against our culture and nation is their ticket out of office. We will hire new people for the job and they won’t be on their knees to allah, they’ll be standing tall for America and what she stands for: PEACE, JUSTICE, and EQUALITY.

It’s become illegal to quote from Islam’s foundational source texts, because the judges haven’t read them and don’t believe they are authentic and authoritative.

The judges are as naïve as the politicians, journalists, editors, church leaders, teachers, professors, police and social workers. They know virtually nothing about Islam, and yet make important decisions based on a LACUNA OF IGNORANCE of the subject.

We are badly served by presumptuous useful idiots like these. They put our lives at risk.

Trials are so speedy in Bangladesh that they have Mobile Judges?

Mobile Justice has a historical record of evil, particularly when carried out for a mob. This was simply a trumped-up charge and a Kangaroo Court to remove Hindis from the school; soon to effectively be a Madrassa.

    • Jerry says

      Apr 28, 2016 at 10:43 am

…when carried out for a mob.

Yes a lynch mob with a lynch mob mentality. Where justice is held hostage by the hate and unreasoned views of a collective. How many times have we seen this in islamic countries? street mobs exacting justice on those who have “insulted” the prophet or allah with the truth or some rational defense of human rights. Here’s a case you may remember, a woman in Afghanistan stoned for the accusation of burning a quran, probably not true since too often these crimes are unsubstantiated and unproven. And even if it were true it does not deserve death. If anything it deserves praise, the evil that book teaches deserves a good burning.

      • Jerry says

        Apr 28, 2016 at 10:56 am

Crimes should be in quotes. There’s nothing criminal about protesting or speaking against islam, including burning a koran. The real crime is that we are so tolerant of the ideology and people that are causing so much death and destruction.

      • Westman says

        Apr 28, 2016 at 11:48 am

A whole society of men willing to murder a defenseless woman, mostly informed by rumors spread among the mob. It would be interesting to see if the original accuser got some of her property.

Afghanistan – a frustrated, failing nation that had already exceeded the sustaining ability of the land when the Taliban arose to take more of the zero-sum pie. Then the US intervention further reduced the sustainment. Now the “refugees”” stream to Europe, to be sustained by developed nations while bringing the very Islamic poison that made their nation unable to sustain itself.

Fundamental Islam requires a host and cannot sustain itself in the same manner that any army depletes resources and impacts the economy without providing economic benefit.

Robert Spencer wrote: “why don’t the British and other former British colonies have similar (blasphemy) laws?”

Good question. No simple answer. Most of the former British colonies did not have tens of millions of Hindus and Muslims. The history of inter-religious violence in India required special attention in order to prevent vendettas by rabble rousers. England has an established church which is protected by a blasphemy law, so religion can’t be used to start another civil war in England.

The thing that American judges discovered about having a blasphemy law is that it requires a definition of blasphemy. Without an establishment of religion, there can be no definition of blasphemy, because all religions would disagree on the definition. The Supreme Court of India recently came to the same conclusion. The Indian judge ruled, “What is blasphemous to one, may be normal to another.”
