Hitler is popular in Egypt. Mein Kampf is a perennial bestseller. What is odd, and good news, is that “a number of Egyptians visiting the area have openly rebuked him and spit at the store in protest. At least one tried to forcibly remove the Hitler sign.”
“‘Hitler’ Clothing Store Causes Stir in Cairo,” Israel Today, April 3, 2016 (thanks to Thomas):
A Egyptian store owner situated on a prestigious promenade often called the “Champs Elysées” of Cairo is defending naming his shop after Nazi dictator Adolf Hitler.
The front of the store bears Hitler’s name and even uses a swastika as its logo.
Store owner Osama Farouk insisted in remarks to Gulf News that his decision to use such symbolism was innocent. “I adore the name and the logo, and decided to put them on the front of my shop.”
To Farouk’s dismay, a number of Egyptians visiting the area have openly rebuked him and spit at the store in protest. At least one tried to forcibly remove the Hitler sign.
“It doesn’t deserve all this trouble,” Farouk maintained. “Why are people so angry? I don’t get involved in politics.”
But that’s only half the story. At least as many people have no problem with Farouk naming his store after one of history’s most notorious figures.
“Praise Allah, I have many clients who come to the store because of the quality of my goods,” he said….

Hello Bernie?
Angry Aussie says
It must be a popular clothing chain. Gaza have a Hitler store with knife holding, masked mannequins.

Thanks for that, Angry Aussie. Disgusting.
Infidal Teacher says
Thanks for the Gaza store post. As an elementary teacher, I can honestly and yet sadly say a large population of my muslim boy students would love this store. They are not quiet viewing their hatred towards Jews and praising hitler. One of my students even stated “I wish hitler would have killed more.”
Jack Diamond says
Where is this, where you teach?
paul says
as he, and all the other arabs are descended from Jews, that muslim would have been sent to Auschwitz eventually.
Sad Hitler did not live long enough to do this muslim.
maghan says
How are Arabs descended from Jews when they recognized each other as distinct ethnic groups during Muhammad’s time. Muhammad even slaughtered many Jews including husbands of Jewish women–whom he promptly raped after “marriage”.

…………………………..
*Terrifying*. I don’t envy you having to try to teach these Mohammedan thugs.

But Hitler’s men never hid behind face masks. So there’s a discrepancy that needs explaining for a start. It seems to go with Faouk’s claim that his use of Hitler’s name and the swastika for his shop is all ‘innocent’, and he’s ‘not involved in politics’, and people go to his shop because they ‘like the quality of his goods’! There seems to be some kind of nasty, surly, slimy dishonesty going on here, just about as convincing as the whinging kindergarten child trying to claim the someone else knocked over the paint pot on the floor by his feet. Except we’re supposed to be talking about grown men here. Pathetic. Quite pathetic.

Yes. I wonder if they were Copts ?
gravenimage says
Actually, Mirren, I doubt dhimmified Copts in Muslim-majority Egypt would feel emboldened enough to be so openly defiant of Muslim barbarism.
Since this was right in the most cosmopolitan part of Cairo, it was possibly the handful of essentially apostate Muslims you still find there in small numbers.
Jack Diamond says
Because Hitler was such a snappy dresser? Is one of the sizes Slimmer & Himmler? Does the Grand Mufti get an honorary rack? Swastika Girls should be all the rage this season on the boulevard in Cairo.
Oddly enough, another clothing store called itself “Hitler” in India a few years ago but changed the name when there were protests. The owner there said he had no idea who Adolf Hitler was, the shop’s name was a tribute to his grandfather who was nicknamed Hitler because he was “very strict”.
http://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-india-19481400
Because….when you think Hitler, you think couture. (Don’t ask about the lampshades).
It’s good there are protests and spitting, but this is still a place where The Protocols of the Elders of Zion was dramatized on prime time tv (in 30, or was it 41, episodes).
Shmooviyet says
That is surely one of his best-sellers. In book and possibly DVD form?
Reminded of Frederick Forrest’s shop owner in “Falling Down”: “This was USED!”
gravenimage says
That was actually a restaurant, Jack. But at least the owner changed the name once he realized what it really meant:
“In India, a cafe named Hitler’s Cross”
http://www.nytimes.com/2006/08/24/world/asia/24iht-fuhrer.html
But the article seems to rather confuse cluelessness like this with the Muslim love of Hitler.
Jack Diamond says
No, the article I quoted was from 2012:
“India’s Hitler clothing shop owners to choose new name…
“the owners of a new Indian clothing store called Hitler say they will rename it after receiving complaints.”
“Hitler’s” are springing up everywhere, it seems.
gravenimage says
Ah–right you are, Jack. My apologies.
Here’s this story:

‘Springtime for Hitler’, indeed…
Shmooviyet says
He praises his g-d for the many ‘clients who appreciate the quality’ of his goods. What does he sell?
Poor, innocent Farouk can’t understand why people are so angry. He thought all his fellow citizens were are as Jew-hateful as himself.
He kills two birds with one stone: no need for a “No Jews or dogs” sign.
Charli Main says
These Hitler admiring Arabs appear to be unaware of Hitler´s white supremacist ” Aryan” ideology. If Adolf Hitler had succeeded in overrunning Europe and occupying the Middle East, the untermenchen Arabs would of soon been following the Jews into the gas chambers.
maghan says
But that white Mufti of Jerusalem was big Hitler fan and adorant.
pdxnag says
Isn’t even worse to name your kid Mohammad?
paul says
Mohammed or Hitler… whats the difference?
Alessandro says
How about opening the store and having it named JESUS CHRIST and the letter ” t” at the and of name Christ to be nicely painted as the most beautiful cross. Then the owner comes and says : I adore the name and the logo, I do not know why people get upset.
These stinky motherF***rs are insult to the worlds intelligence!!!!!
Karen says
Osama (great name) says: “I adore the name and the logo….”
Uh……ok. What’s next in Osama’s business plan? A outlet shop called ‘Adolfs’?
Oh yes, the little swastika is just adorable!!
Champ says
“It doesn’t deserve all this trouble,” Farouk maintained. “Why are people so angry? I don’t get involved in politics.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Oh please this guy is such a terrible liar. And of course he’s getting “involved in politics”, that’s exactly what he’s doing; and then he pretends not to know why people are getting so angry? He’s telling one lie after another. Poor dear, he’s sooo misunderstood. Well I’m not buying his stinkin’ lies, and he knows EXACTLY what he’s doing and he knows precisely *why* people are upset.
He needs touit with the lies, since no one with any common sense believes his rubbish.
Champ says
Oops: He needs to *quit* with the lies …
salim says
Facts about the Arabs( probably all Muslims):
One: Hitler is popular in the Arab world, it is a fact. For their image in the world, they try to conceal their love.
Two: Mein Kampf is a very common book in the Middle East (together with the protocols of the elders of Zion).
Three: Until the mid 1960s, Hilter’s moustache style was common in ME.
Four: Anwar Sadat, who became president in 1970, was a Nazi spy and helped the Nazi Army in North Africa. Sadat wrote an article praising Hitler even after he became part of the government from 1952.
Five: The Arabs generally like the Persian leader Nubuchadnezzar for enslaving the Jews and hate Cyrus the great. They believe that Nebuchadnezzar, Mohammed and hHitler were the only three who understood the Jews.
Mazo says
Herp derp, Salim.
Nebuchadnezzar was not a Persian.
gravenimage says
The usual from Mazo–he seizes on a minor–and inconsequential–error on the part of an Anti-Jihadist, hoping that this will (somehow) cast doubt on any concerns we have.
And then of course he ignores the actual story–in this case, the troubling Muslim love-affair with Hitler.
This is especially striking, since Muslims as a rule hate and despise Infidels–but make a strong exception for the genocidal maniac Adolf Hitler.
This is not an isolated incident. Here’s another instance of the image of Hitler being used to market goods in the Muslim world:
“Hitler honored in upscale mall in modern, moderate Turkey”
http://www.jihadwatch.org/2013/01/hitler-honored-in-upscale-mall-in-modern-moderate-turkey
And Muslims frequently cite Hitler and the Holocaust while taunting and attacking Jewish victims:
“France: Muslims screaming ‘Hitler did not finish his work’ assault Jewish woman”
http://www.jihadwatch.org/2015/05/france-muslims-screaming-hitler-did-not-finish-his-work-assault-jewish-woman
Repulsive.
Mazo says
Polish nationalists are against Hitler and the Jews.
Lipka Tatar Muslims fought in the Polish resistance against the Nazi Germa occupiers.
The Polish Catholic resistance who fought the Nazis also hated Jews and wanted them out of Poland.
There is no correlation between liking Nazis and Jews.
gravenimage says
More inconsequential nonsense from Mazo.
Sure–there were a handful who resisted Hitler’s depredations who were nonetheless antisemites themselves.
But today almost all of those who admire Hitler are also fans of the genocidal Holocaust–certainly this is the case with most of Hitler’s Muslim fans.
But even if one were able to make the case that genocidal antisemitism were not a substantive part of the appeal, the idea that adoring *Adolf Hitler* is somehow benignant is just laughably grotesque.
How about a store called “Richard the Lionheart” or “Bring back the Crusades” …hey this shouldn’t upset muslims, right? What, I don’t see the problem here. Just so happens that I loooove these names. Anyone buyin’ these same rationales?
