“Jihad Watch is as edgy and blunt as you can get, even in the world of conservative news.” Edgy and blunt? That’s just the sting of the truth. Thanks to the Conservative Free Press for this honor.
“The Top 10 Conservative Political Blogs Everyone Should Know About,” by Jacob Maslow, Conservative Free Press, April 20, 2016:
…9. Jihad Watch
Jihad Watch is as edgy and blunt as you can get, even in the world of conservative news. Robert Spencer goes into Islamic ideology and theology while
focusing on terrorist attacks that are at the forefront of the world’s political news….

Jovial Joe says
Absurd, you are No.1 Mr. Spencer, or perhaps joint honors with Pamela, David Greenfield and Mark Steyn. Long may your reign continue until the scourge of Islam is expunged from the earth!
jr says
keep on the good work jihadwatch. been following you since the beginning
Bob says
Congrats! I tell people about this site daily!
Shane says
Yes, congrats to JW and to the smart and informed people who comment on this site! Not nearly as many trolls and morons that comment on this site as on most sites!
Champ says
The unvarnished Truth, about islam & company, is “edgy and blunt”? …because the more accepted norm enables said evil through obfuscation and/or outright lies!
Michael Copeland says
Edgy and Blunt – sounds like a firm of lawyers.
Champ says
True! 🙂
Shmooviyet says
Thank You for posting; this is needed as never before, what with all the whining and scraping leftists (and what were once thought conservatives) are doing everywhere one looks.
Still irritated over the description of Pamela Geller as the muslim-provoking blogger.
mortimer says
Jihad Watch is ‘edgy’ because Robert Spencer works with the sharp knife of in-depth, meticulous, precise and painstaking knowledge of the foundational, Islamic source texts. Few Westerners, even university professors of Islamic studies, have Robert Spencer’s knowledge of jihad. Because university professors are controlled by boards of directors who have NO KNOWLEDGE of Islam, they mostly keep their mouths shut about Islam and the jihad doctrine. Their voices have been silenced by governors bribed with Arab oil money. It is left to a small number of believers in democracy to defend it. They are what is keeping the West from surrender to jihad.
Robert Spencer’s commentaries on how jihad impacts the West and how Western elites are encouraging surrender to jihad are well-aimed and fair comments based on KNOWLEDGE of the subject, rather than guessing, editorial policies, appeasement or misapplied Marxist theories.
Robert Spencer knows the subject of jihad better than almost any Western person with the exception of certain former intelligence gatherers perhaps who were kicked out for telling their bosses the facts of life concerning the authentic jihad doctrine which all Muslims are compelled by Sharia law to endorse or be considered apostates.
Robert Spencer delivers the goods on jihad and for that reason, mullahs now refuse to face him in debate.
We are now in a period of ‘latency’ in which the horrible, nasty truth about jihad is starting to sink in, much of this is thanks to Robert Spencer and a number of other amateurs turned expert on Islam. Future generations will point to them as the saviors of Western civilization.
JMB says
Well said Mortimer!

I’ve just noticed this ‘likes/dislikes’ button. When was that done? Trouble is when I press it only 2 dots appear. I did log in. When I press ‘like’ on further comments nothing happens at all. I use iPad.
Help appreciated

We need more commentators like you in here. 🙂

Once again, you make me smile! Congratulations Mr. Spencer, for opening our eyes to Islam, and my heart to Jesus. Thank you for speaking the truth always. I know I can direct someone to your videos KNOWING without doubt, it will be truly reported. God bless!
Mark Spahn (West Seneca, NY) says
I wonder why this blog rater — one Jacob Maslow, who lives at http://www.jacobmaslow.com but has no easily findable email address — considers Jihad Watch a “conservative political” blog. What theory of politics does he think Jihad Watch pushes? Other than free speech, one law for all, and other enlightenment values which liberals and leftists also espouse.
Jacob Maslow says
I spend a lot of time on Facebook and Linked In as well as Twitter.
I’m pretty easy to find but putting your email online isn’t advisable as many spammers use crawlers to pull email addresses.
We can’t make every one happy with our list. Perhaps next time we will just alphabetize or maybe put up more transparent criteria. we picked the 10 best and did the best we can to determine placement.
Your criticism is justified as we didn’t give much info into our process.
R says
What’s so conservative about speaking truthfully about Islamic theology, doctrine, and history? Opposing jihad and Islamic Law should have no partisanship.
JMB says
Agree completely. (Moderator; It would be great to have a “vote up” option on this site)
linnte says
JMB I agree with Mortimer and yes, it would be a good thing to be able to confirm agree or disagree here. A “like” button if you will.
marc says
OK, i give in, I will give the like /dislike button a go
linnte says
Mr. Spencer IS A HERO! My favorite hero! But thanks for considering a up/down for comments, cuz sometimes I would just like to approve or say the same thing but I don’t cuz it would be redundant. ?
marc says
well, I’ll try it out, as you can see, it uses some technology that’s not playing nice with me on my chromium browser / linux combination whilst logged in, seems fine in other combinations.
And yes I agree, so many comments here I’d like to show approval of and quite a few that deserve a few thumbs down. I like this method as it also gives you anonymity.
BTW, your not the only one, it’s a constant request from people, and unlike the edit comment option which I find a security risk, I don’t see a negative here.
Polk1970 says
No need to give the enemy a down button.
What For?
Sam Hawkins says
Agreed, my impression is that Robert Spencer is equally exasperated with Repubs and Dems and with the way they gussy up Islam to make it look compatible. No idea whether he votes Dem, Repub, Green, Libertarian, and don’t care to know, either.
Mo says
@ R
“What’s so conservative about speaking truthfully about Islamic theology, doctrine, and history? Opposing jihad and Islamic Law should have no partisanship.”
One would think, right? And yet by a huge margin, liberals not only side with but defend and promote Islam at every turn.
Anke L. says
I have studied Islam for the last year and a half and call myself an amateur in a general sense.
I am frustrated however in finding people , who are seriously interested in the subject. It looks like
things have to directly affect people before they are willing to open their ears to all this.I came on to Islam by accident and was shocked…about such ideology., assuming that Islam was just another religion like
Christianity…with some oriental cultural overtones….But it is not at all.
Islam believes that the world was created for Islam…is what I heard an unsuccessful suicide bomber say.
This whole thing has come like a nightmare over the world….
Domino says
I totally agree, Islam is like a pollution that cannot be restrained, their meanings and goals are destruction for all non islamic beings…….those people are not compatible in our society, people should realize that and stop being so naive. We live in the 21st Century …they live in 2,000 years back.;……..they are in love with DEATH…we are in love with LIFE……….people better wake up before it’s too late……..
dumbledoresarmy says
Anke – where are you from?
You write -“.I came on to Islam by accident and was shocked…about such ideology., assuming that Islam was just another religion like
Christianity…with some oriental cultural overtones”
So – what made you take that second, sceptical look? And you say you’ve been looking into the subject for a year and a half now. When did you find Jihad Watch, and how?
I always ask this when new people turn up, because the answers are always so interesting. Also, if we understand what brings people, what ‘wakes them up’, it might be possible to work out ways of speeding up the process, waking up *more* people, rather than waiting for them to wake up on their own.
Richard says
I came across JW through Jamie Glazov via his book when I started asking questions on the internet about why is it that Western Leaders (like A Merkel) appear to be committing cultural suicide, seem to be ashamed of their country and why feminists are totally silent on atrocities against women everywhere? This puzzled me greatly until recently. Once I found Jamie Glazov, and read his book, everything else came out. I am from the UK.
linnte says
It sounds like we all have similar stories about getting to JW. The common denominator here is curiosity and willingness to step outside the box for accepting new information. Personally, I think we are making history right along with (but certainly not EQUAL TO) Robert Spencer. That man will someday be in history books as a war hero!
dumbledoresarmy says
Anyway – *welcome*! Welcome to the ranks of the ad hoc de facto real life “Order of the Phoenix”. Congratulations on joining “the history boys” (and “history girls”).
I have been reading and posting here since April 2007 (‘discovered’ Jihadwatch, by a circuitous path, in late 2006 and read off and on for a while before deciding to take a nom de plume and step out onto the comments floor rather than just lurking behind the hedge or, to vary the metaphor, in the shadows in the corner of the room).
I have made friends here. I have encountered some truly evil people also – mohammedans (both openly proclaimed, and the slier ones that post behind masks) and their enablers. I’ve met people from all over the world. Explore the archives here, every time you have a spare moment; it’s worth it.
Anyway, here’s a classic article by Mr Spencer’s very erudite friend, “Hugh Fitzgerald”.
It’s called “The Unsung History Boys”.
http://www.jihadwatch.org/2008/06/fitzgerald-the-unsung-history-boys
And here’s another. If you are from continental Europe, this should speak to you.
It’s called “What’s At Stake”, and it’s mainly about Europe and the treasures of Europe.
http://www.jihadwatch.org/2005/05/fitzgerald-whats-at-stake.html
And, again from Hugh, this. This is for you. This is for me. This is for all of us, to put some steel in our spines.
http://www.jihadwatch.org/2016/01/hugh-fitzgerald-the-task-you-have-taken-upon-yourself
It concludes:
“When you learned about Islam, you did not make the world any easier for yourself, just easier to comprehend. And in so learning about Islam, you should recognize that you now have a responsibility to share that knowledge with others, many of whom have shown they will be willfully resistant to it. But you have taken on this task. If not you — who?”
Polk1970 says
And if not now,WHEN!?
Westman says
Conserving the truth about Islam. Conserving the free, Democratic Life of Infidels. Conserving the dialogue that even the National Review avoids.
The Review says, “As Islamism Marches West, Pluralist Muslims Must Stop Its Advance”. Jihad Watch asks, “What is a Pluralist Muslim and where are these brave Pluralist Muslims that are fighting Islamism in the West?”
Angemon says
“Conservative political blog”? One would think that the defence of human rights and the dignity of all human beings would be an universal issue anyone, whether conservative or liberal, could rally to. Unfortunately, leftists have a different standard for what constitutes human rights and dignity – whether it’s “sexism”, “racism”, “transphobia”, “ableism” or overall “bigotry”, they always seem to find some group (which may or not be totally made up) that needs “defending” on the grounds of “there’s inequality here therefore we’re going to give this group special privileges in detriment of that other group”. All in the name of equality and human rights, you see – if someone says they’re a woman, they must have the human right to use the women’s restroom. If ethnic minorities say they need racial segregation, sorry, a “safe space” where ethnic majorities (a.k.a., “white people”) aren’t allowed in, they need to have it because equality and dignity.
Jerry says
“Conservative political blog”? One would think that the defence of human rights and the dignity of all human beings would be an universal issue…
Yeah, you’d think so. But I guess with 1.5 billions muslims on the planet human rights can’t be “universal.”
Polk1970 says
Liberal is just a word now.
There are no more patriotic American Liberals such as Senator Henry(Scoop) Jackson or former Vice-President Hubert Humphrey
Polk1970 says
maybe James Webb ,in these times.
And we all know how far he didn’t get in the Democratic Primary
Angemon says
Also, congratulations Mr. Spencer, marc, Mr. Fitgerald. Mr. Ibrahim, and all other past and current contributors and staff members 🙂

Great.
Perhaps it is appropriate to note that there are a lot of youtube channels dedicated to talk about Islam, and these guys are like the younger generation, quite a few ex-Muslims as well. Worth to check them. They are mostly atheistic and sarcastic.

I don’t agree with this like or dislike thing.
It’s like islamic- for or against.
A person can’t be free. It’s primitive mind. Everything has got to be fixed. No free thought. A toy for the critical minded, who get off on finding fault in others.

Yay! we have like and dislike buttons now. Thanks Marc.

This is turning into a seismic morning.
Logged in to check out the latest news on what the islamics have been up to, only to find that I’m actually visiting a top ‘Conservative Political Blog’, oh the horror (mind, I’ve come to expect that when observing jihad), but more shocks, a Like button, too.
Come on, we’ve gotta draw the line somewhere!
WorkingClassPost says
Talkin’bout this headline, it highlights the effectiveness of muslim advocacy, and an inherent weakness in the democratic process.
One of the main reasons that more than half of Western societies are wilfully ignorant of the dangers we all face, is that they refuse to even contemplate something which they identify as belonging to their political opponents.
But why saving our lives and culture should be a political issue is beyond logic.
Jaladhi says
Why is it under conservative sites! Jihadwatch is #1 “Truth about Islam” site which has nothing to do with conservative or liberal. You will find plenty of conservatives and liberals who will not speak the truth about Islam and will go along with the general media narrative of “religion of peace” garbage!
Jihadwatch is all about the truth about Islam!!
Jack Holan says
Robert, Congratulations-All of us who read your work on a day to day if not hour to hour basis already knew this but it’s Great to get recognition from fellow Conservatives. I think I can speak for many others, Thanks! You have Armed us against the Supremacists out there and if we forget where something can be found, you’ve set up your archive.

Congratulations Robert. JW has always been in my Top 10 sites.
Linde Barrera says
I came upon JihadWatch.org in October/ November 2014 when I wanted to get facts about the Islamic State as to why they wanted to kill President Obama, who had made the claim that “The Islamic State is not Islamic”! Yeah right, Pres. Obummer. ? At that time, I was ignorant of Islam except what I learned in high school, i.e., The 5 Pillars of Islam. And remember, you don’t know what you don’t know.
My hero is Robert Spencer, and I love him and the writers of this website. I also pray for all of them, Pamela Geller, and everyone who reads and posts comments here. I am so impressed by the knowledge that I have learned here, not only from the articles but from the many astute and in-the -know-about-Islam commenters. “Thank you from the bottom of my socks” as Charley Brown says. May the facts posted at JihadWatch.org continue to bring freedom to those of us who love and require freedom.
Shalom says
I second that. What I would really love to know is, how many hits does Jihad Watch get every day and other stats such as is it increasing.
Please, someone tell!
linnte says
Oh me too! I see new names all the time, new to me anyway. I am curious to know how busy this blog gets.

Congratulations Robert, I hope you get included in the next government as an analyst at least. Your contribution to freedom as we know it has no measure.
