“The court heard the pair allegedly plotted with Wright’s uncle Usaamah Rahim to behead blogger Pamela Geller, who is known for provoking Muslims.” The Daily Mail is generally grotesque in its combination of coverage of the jihad threat with outright denial of its ideological roots, along with a vicious bias against the foes of jihad terror. But this is worse than they even usually are. Pamela Geller “is known for provoking Muslims”? That is an implied justification for this Islamic State plot to behead her — after all, she “provoked” them. The idea has been lost nowadays, but it remains true: no one is responsible for anyone else’s actions unless the actor is being coerced. Rovinski and Wright were not forced to behead Pamela Geller by her standing for the freedom of speech. They could have reflected upon the nature of a pluralistic society and chosen any number of other paths. Drawings of Muhammad are no more a provocation to kill than Beatles songs. That Charles Manson heard some of those songs as orders to kill doesn’t mean the Beatles “provoked” Manson, and Pamela Geller and I sponsoring a Muhammad cartoon contest doesn’t mean that we “provoked” Rovinski and Wright. Nor is she or anyone else responsible for what they tried to do. Only they themselves are.
“New England ISIS suspect ‘tried to organize beheadings of non-believers from behind bars’ while awaiting terror charges,” by Darren Boyle, MailOnline, April 22, 2016 (thanks to Cecilia):
A New England ISIS suspect tried to organise the beheadings of ‘non-believers’ from inside jail while awaiting trial on terror charges, prosecutors claim.
Nicholas Rovinski of Warwick, Rhode Island and his co-accused David Wright of Everett, Massachusetts were arrested and charged in June 2015 with providing material support to ISIS.
However, following a hearing at US District Court in Boston on Thursday, the pair were also charged with plotting to kill conservative blogger Pamela Geller.
Prosecutors allege Rovinski and Wright received instructions from a foreign-based ISIS recruiter.
Rovinski and Wright both pleaded not guilty to the terrorism charges.
The court heard the pair allegedly plotted with Wright’s uncle Usaamah Rahim to behead blogger Pamela Geller, who is known for provoking Muslims. The plot was not carried out.
Thursday’s indictment says ISIS recruiter and hacker Junaid Hussain communicated instructions about the plot directly to Rahim from overseas in May 2015. It says Rahim then told his nephew.
Hussain was killed in a US drone strike in Syria in August. The US military has said Hussain had been recruiting sympathizers in the West to carry out lone-wolf terrorist attacks.
Rahim was killed June 2 by investigators who say he lunged at them with a knife when they approached him in Boston.
According to the indictment, even from jail, Rovinski has tried to recruit people to help carry out plans for violent attacks in the United States, including to decapitate non-believers.
Geller last year organized a Prophet Muhammad cartoon contest that ended in gunfire in Garland, Texas, with two Muslim gunmen shot to death by police. She has spearheaded scores of events across the nation to decry Islamic extremism.
According to the new indictment, Rovinski has continued to support Islamic State while in jail by trying to recruit others to ‘decapitate non-believers’ and take down the U.S. government and by writing a new pledge of support to the group’s leader, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, on the back of his own criminal complaint.
Rovinski and Wright pleaded not guilty to the original charge of conspiring to provide material support to a designated terrorist organization after they were arrested in June, and they were due to face trial in February 2017.
According to the new indictment, Rovinski and Wright plotted their attacks with Wright’s uncle, Usaamah Abdullah Rahim, who was shot dead by law enforcement officers last June when Boston police and agents for the Federal Bureau of Investigation approached him and he threatened them with a knife.
The indictment accused Rahim of beginning communication one month before he was shot with a British member of Islamic State, Junaid Hussain. Hussain was believed by government sources to be the leader of CyberCaliphate, a hacking group that last year attacked a Twitter account belonging to the Pentagon.
The indictment said Hussain gave Rahim instructions that Rahim passed on to Wright about targeting individuals such as Pamela Geller, organizer of a ‘Draw Mohammad’ cartoon competition in Garland, Texas, that was attacked by two gunmen last May….

Geller “is known for provoking Muslims”?
This is the diminished morality we’re living now, where victims of murder are guilty and the killers are justified with petty excuses. “Hurt feelings” has become the new judicator for free speech and the right to life. If you don’t like someone’s opinion, just kill them, your feelings were hurt.
This degradation of our 1st amendment and sound morality is given prodigious help by the media because of their spineless bias in favor of muslims and their hatred of us. If Geller provoked muslims it was with the truth, they should thank her for treating them as adults, not kill her. Don’t blame good people for your own lack of moral understanding, muslims. You need to rise to our more enlightened level of human rights and fair government. The world has seen enough of what your religion and people can do. We want peace and equality for all, not sharia bigotry and religious murder.
Lanya LaPunta says
Every year, in San Francisco, they have multiple “Hunky Jesus” contests.
How many radical left wing progressives are involved? And, of them, how many should face decapitation?
How would our media react upon seeing that news?

Thanks for that info
No outrage from NPR
No word from Donald Trump on this either

Sure be interesting to know how Nicholas Rovinski got THAT name?

That vicious and malicious jihad -minded Muslim with his Islamic scheming with brutal and murderous intent should have the governmental law enforcement powers along the the courts come down hard on him. The US Law enforcement authorities have every right to do so. This statement is upheld by the Bible, Romans 13:1-4. and common sense as well as the basic knowledge between right and wrong.

Saw the article on Fox this morning. Love their pinky-d… description of Pamela as the “known-for- provoking-muslims” blogger. Sounds as if O’Reilly did an edit.
Is she known for anything else, Fox? Does Fox offer to help women escape islam? Do they report on, or show photos of women honor-killed, or burned with acid or hot oil by their captors, i.e. husbands and fathers?
Telling the truth is “provoking”, so she kinda had it comin’, doncha know.
Keep it up, Pamela, knowing you are supported and respected. Stay Safe.

Shmooviyet,
Exactly. the-trump-news-network -aka- fox has to get the message out that Pamela “is taunting people.”
I’m sure the SAS (Sikh Awareness Society) were “taunting people” when they finally decided to take matters into their own hands -as a result of the dhimmitude and ignorance of local British police- and stop muslim grooming (rape) gangs from terrorizing young Sikh girls.
We can only hope more organizations like the SAS begin to spawn to counter this Islamic supremacist threat.
Shmooviyet says
Good for them!
Keep up the provocation, SAS. As well as every other group wearied up to here with the “but it’s their culture!” whiners.
As Pat Condell puts it to permanently peeved muslims (paraphrasing): “We don’t CARE that you’re offended.”

1. You can’t so much as look at a Muslim without provoking them!
2. Pamela Geller along with Robert Spencer are the bravest and most informative people in America and if anything were to happen to them I’ll bring every radical Muslim to their knees!

The hate speech laws were the slippery slope to decay U.S. slander laws. Islamic slander laws carry death penalties even if truth is spoken about Islamic doctrine has no place in the U.S. courts unless subversion is the goal……and civilization political jihad is the method.

I suppose Pamela Geller must have done something to provoke Muslims when they besieged Vienna in 1529 and 1683, or when they carried out the Armenian Genocides in the 19th and early 20th centuries.
Angemon says
What did the other people they plotted to behead do? Because that’s the implication, right? That Mrs. Geller brought it on herself for “provoking” muslims.

The critical idea of Personal accountability has been lost to the West. So has suffering the consequences of ones actions along with let the consequences fit the deed. In Britain, a Muslim rapist gets off with a light sentence, but a man who asks a Muslim woman about her feelings regarding the Brussels attacks goes to prison for longer. I am surprised Muslims have to pay traffic fines in the West.

“Nor is she or anyone else responsible for what they tried to do. Only they themselves are.”
Is this not the same as domestic violence when the man says she provoked me.
If the answer is the woman is not responsible for what the man does . Only the man is himself responsible.
If this about domestic violence is drummed into men’s head by society, why cannot the same thing be said about Islamic violence not only against women but against infidels as well.
In a nut shell the same rules should apply to Islamic Violence.

That is why the Provocation Defence is very rarely successful in Criminal Matters nowdays and in some matters cannnot be used at all.

Sick and tired of the pampering of thin-skinned, prickly Muslims who can’t handle the truth while acting like they have the license to insult all non-Muslims. A Muslim comedian refers to Hindus as dogs. On national TV. The audience laugh and applaud.
What is the daily mail doing? Defending Muslims’ right to kill people who offend them? Has no one at that rag even the tiniest shred of logic to apply?
Lanya LaPunta says
Hi, Singh the Sikh. Do you actually expect islamophilacs to possess logic?

re the Daily Mail.
The one thing they *do* do is that they very frequently permit Comments upon Islam-related news reports and op-eds. I am not sure how the frequency of this compares to other mainstream news outlets.
What I *have* noticed when reading their comments streams is that a/ any Islam-related article generates an *avalanche* of comment (from all over, though mostly native British) and b/ their ‘moderation’ of comments seems to be dependent on some sort of machine filter picking up keywords, and that therefore the savviest of the Islamo-aware commenters have figured out a dizzying variety of ways to avoid ‘snagging’ in their filter. The results are fascinating, for what they tell us about the growth in Islamo-awareness among British – and other European – and other Western – and beyond-the-West – Infidels.
High Hopes says
As Tommy Robinson says, people are afraid to lose their jobs if they comment. This is a genuine fear, I work in a college, I have witnessed a Muslim teacher steer a group of young impressionable students to agree that there is a limit to free speech and that there will be consequences if the prophet is insulted. I could have made a complaint but could foresee the can of worms this would open and the opportunity for victim hood it offered. I have had muslim students tell me they pray at Mecca for Islam to cover the world and they will pray for me there, felt like they were trying to convert me before it became non-optional! If I had preached the word of Jesus, I would have been disciplined at the very least. Insanity.

I have no doubt, none whatever, that rags like this and others, would CHEER the murder of Pam, or Robert, or ANYONE who opposes islam.
I’d like to be a fly on the wall when these deluded sub-humans themselves fall victim to the moslems they love. It won’t be long.

The freedom of speech began with the freedom to differ from the Roman Catholic Church teaching on various matters, especially with respect to science, such as the case of Galileo.
The Protestant reformation demanded the freedom to differ from the state and the RCC in doctrine.
Voltaire would have agreed that the freedom of speech is predominantly the freedom to discuss and disagree with religion…any religion.
Europeans and Americans fought for the last 400 years to have the freedom to dissent from religious doctrines they do not personally believe. The US has no established ‘American religion’, so no definition of ‘blasphemy’ is legal in the US.
No one anywhere should be punished for holding a religious opinion at variance with what the state recommends. Muslims cannot accept that and should not be allowed citizenship in any country protects freedom of conscience since they reject freedom of conscience completely.
mortimer says
There are about 1,000 actual jihad terrorists in the US and about 450,000 Muslim sympathizers who will hide, feed, abet and support them.
That’s the tiny minority of extremists out of 3 million Muslims in the US…only 450,000.
