This is why Clapper makes the big bucks: he doesn’t hesitate to state the blazingly obvious. And give the man credit: he has come a long way toward a realistic appraisal of the world since the days when he labeled the Muslim Brotherhood “largely secular.”
“National Intelligence Director Clapper: Islamic State Exploiting Migrant Crisis In Europe,” by Charlie Spiering, Breitbart, April 25, 2016:
National Intelligence Director James Clapper says Islamic State training camps currently exist in European countries and that terrorists are exploiting the migrant crisis in those countries to infiltrate the population.
Clapper was asked by a reporter if the Islamic State had clandestine cells currently operating in countries including Germany and Italy.
“Yes they do,” he said, citing heightened coordination intelligence community of terrorists operation in Europe. “We continue to see evidence on the part of ISIL in the countries you name.”
Clapper made his remarks during a breakfast meeting with reporters in Washington D.C. hosted by the Christian Science Monitor. During the conversation, he shared what the intelligence community has learned about ISIS.
“We’ve learned that they are fanatic, very operational security conscious their very mindful of that,” he said. “They have taken advantage to some extent the migrant crisis in Europe. Something which the nations, I think, have a growing awareness of.”…
“On the one hand, the European Union incentives and drives to promote openness and free movement of people and goods, privacy, which is in some ways is in conflict with the responsibilities of each country as a nation state to protect the security of it’s [sic] borders of it’s [sic] people,” Clapper said.
No kidding, really?

If they know they are there..TAKE THEM OUT !
Why is everything so hard ?
If they dont know where they are then ask the general public.
Have a hotline. hand out rewards !!
Seems so easy. But then again the cops dont even carry weapons.
They are like mall cops. The kind in Canada not USA.

Doing the maths isn’t that difficult.
Lebanese and Syrian government officials reckon 2-3% of Syrians in refugee camps are Islamic terrorists. Applying this estimate to the migrants just in Germany alone:
Two million migrants arrived in total last year: 40,000 – 60,000 of these could be terrorists
130,000 migrants have “vanished”: 2,600 – 3,900 of these could be terrorists
400,000 people whose identities are unknown: 8,000 – 12,000 of these could be terrorists
Now scale up for the whole of Europe, and you can see why the Islamic State jihadists are laughing.
Once migrants live for a few years (3-4) in an EU country, they will gain the automatic right to move to ANY member state, including the UK.

Just wondering what become of that famous US mantra that “Assad must go”? Was it placed under the carpet for now? Angemon, could u please shed some light on this?
Marcel Berube says
Assad maybe is a dictator but we are better out with a laic dictator than with islamist state. It was an error to get rid of Saddam Hussein and Khadafi . Now Islamic State flourish.

Marcel Berube
Very well-said Marcel. I totally agree with you!

Did I ever uttered that mantra, CB? Show me. And what does that has to do with the “migrant crisis”, seeing how nearly 80% of the “migrants” are not Syrians?

I don’t know if you changed your position but in your earlier comments, you approved the US and the global political/religious establishment that kept uttering the “Assad must go” mantra.

Terrible sleight of hand. Show me where I said “Assad must go” or stop implying that I did.

Maybe we can reason with Muslims.
We need a peace plan.
Then all will be fine.

A peace plan with Muslims has been available for 1400 years.

Weren’t there millions of Egyptians protesting in the streets against Mubarak, following in the “Arab Spring”? And even more against Morsi? You may not think well of Egyptians, but I, for one, acknowledge that they have an agency of their own and act according to their own free will.

O give me a break Angemon! The millions of Egyptians were protesting, not against Mubarak but against US-backed muslim brotherhood government led by Mursi.

Here’s my full post:
Let’s keep that in mind when addressing your reply, which is based on a small fraction of what I actually said that doesn’t accurately describe my post as a whole.
“O give me a break Angemon! The millions of Egyptians were protesting, not against Mubarak but against US-backed muslim brotherhood government led by Mursi.”
Egyptians did protest against Mubarak. By the millions. And an year or so later, even more protested against Morsi. That millions protested against Morsi doesn’t mean that millions didn’t protest against Mubarak. As I said, you may not think well of Egyptians, but I, for one, acknowledge that they have an agency of their own and act according to their own free will.
That you needed to pretend I didn’t say that millions of Egyptians protested against Morsi doesn’t bode well for your non-existent credibility.

Clapper is whistling a new tune, clearly trying to buy some CYA protection – he knows that things in Europe will get much worse, and that the threat can only be met at the level of individual nations (e.g. Poland, Hungary) rather than the unelected EU bureaucracy.

Clearly, he hasn’t a clue about Islamist training camps in the U.S.

Clapper is the same dope who testified that the Mo-Bro-Hood is a moderate organization. Could it be that, after the total failure of the Arab Spring, he’s starting to see flickers of light before his benighted eyes? Squint, Clapper, squint. You’ll see.

Clapper said: “We’ve learned that they are fanatic”.
How long did it take for that realization?
Does Clapper realize that 15% of Muslims approve of terror organizations?
Does Clapper realize that 65% of Muslims approve of the goals of ISIS … Sharia and a caliphate?
Does Clapper realize that 51% of Muslims in the US approve of using violence to impose Sharia on the US?
Is that ‘fanatical’?

Dear Mrs. Clinton:
Could you kindly explain to the American electorate your administration’s reasoning in supporting rebel groups that you must have known were tactical and ideological allies of Qaida and its affiliates? After all, the Muslim brotherhood has hated us since its inception. I know for a fact that you even have one of Seiyyid Qutb’s books (in English translation) in the State Department library, for I read it while I was an FSO.

Agree with Kepha. There’s no reason to place confidence in the Muslim Brotherhood, a virtual Egyptian Nazi party.
