No need to be concerned. Only 70% of Pakistani children go to these schools. Meanwhile, our children are learning to be sensitive to “microaggressions” and to eschew unpopular ideas as “hate speech.”
“Children in Pakistan are learning disturbing things about other religions in school,” by Nafees Takkar, Christian Science Monitor, March 31, 2016:
… In recent years in government-approved schools, students are using textbooks that teach hostility towards all forms of thought and expression – except orthodox Sunni Islam….
The books claim that Christian, Hindu, Jewish, Sikh faiths, and even minority Muslim ethnic groups are inferior if not dangerous and should be opposed. They often present stereotyped images from history – the crusades in the Middle Ages, unjust colonial British civil servants, Jewish moneylenders, or of marauding Sikhs warriors – as if these are current affairs and represent popular views in the West and India today.
The texts also adopt fundamentalist arguments that Muslim individuals are responsible for taking independent action against those who are not virtuous.
Nearly 70 percent of Pakistani students attend public schools, according to the Center of Research and Security Studies. The Islamabad-based think tank points out that government committees decide on the content in curriculums.
“The textbooks take the readers to an absolute point of view that stops students from thinking critically and takes them into isolated thinking,” says Khadim Hussain, a Peshawar-based writer on militancy and the director of an educational foundation.
In a seventh-grade social studies text, students read: “History has no parallel to the extremely kind treatment of the Christians by the Muslims. Still the Christian kingdoms of Europe were constantly trying to gain control of Jerusalem.”
Relations with Jews are presented in a seventh grade text in this way: “Some Jewish tribes also lived in Arabia. They lent money to workers and peasants on high rates of interest and usurped their earnings.”
Sixth graders are taught that, “Christians and Europeans were not happy to see Muslims flourishing.”
Seventh graders read, learn, and are tested on material from texts that teach the Crusades almost as current affairs and offer a very narrow view of Christianity without describing the nearly universal approbation against them taken later.
“These wars are called crusades because the Pope, a head of the Christians, called a council of war,” the text states. “In this meeting he declared that Jesus Christ sanctioned war against Muslims.”
Brainwashing?By 10th grade students learn not just that jihad is a form of internal struggle for the faithful, but that, “In Islam Jihad is very important. The person who offers his life never dies. All prayers nurture one’s passion for Jihad.”…
“These texts present a world view that has nothing to do with real studies and the real world. The texts showing up in public schools repeatedly describe Christians and Jews as enemies of Islam,” Mr. Hussain says.
The leaders of the Jamat-ul-Ahrar, the organization that claimed responsibility for the attack on Christians in Lahore, graduated from public schools.
The spokesman of a jihadi group that claimed a recent attack on Bacha Khan University in Charsadda, a town near Peshawar, got his first education from a regular school. The attack on Jan. 20, which killed 21 students and teachers, had symbolic importance since the college is named after a Pashtun leader known for his philosophy of non-violence against British rule….

It’s bigotry and religious hatred, that’s what they’re teaching. But we’re supposed to believe that islam means “peace.” In the mean time they are teaching hate for infidels, propagandizing their youth against us. But we paltry infidels must play by the rules of proper etiquette. We must live out this charade of political correctness. Outrageous.
If we didn’t have this honest, soul searching truth from Jihad Watch and Atlas Shrugs we’d be so much more in the dark about muslims’ dark motives for hating us. It must be frustrating for truth-bearers like Pam Geller and Robert Spencer to have to wear the false mask of bigotry and hate. Sad that we live in a world where truth and good morals are punished for religious hatred and ignorance. I thank my lucky stars I have a bright light like Robert Spencer to lead me through the murk and din of islamic ignorance. I’ve read his books (well, not all of them) and I know truth when I hear it. He’s the good guy that makes me feel good about humanity. Oh, I know that sounds fluffy. I can’t help it, he brings it out of me.
Wellington says
Well stated, Jerry. I second all you wrote, with the exception about your self-denigration that what you wrote may sound “fluffy.” No, it doesn’t. It was all spot on.

Oh thanks, I’m self-effacing by nature. I’m just being honest with my heart and mind. If it does some good then I’m glad.

Part of what makes a person “good” is supporting those that have good intentions for others. People that fight religious hate and murder are probably on that list, I’m betting. Any fence-sitters please listen, if you stepped in here for the first time take it from me, it’s a garden of goodness. It may sound dirty, it may feel uncomfortable, but don’t blame good people for what the bad people do. Speaking against religious bigotry is not bigotry, speaking against religious hate is not hate. It’s the same kind of brilliance we laud in Martin Luther King and Gandhi. They stood for what’s good and right despite the opposition. And all the naysayers and apologists, they’ve taken that same old tired road of moral compromise that inspires no one. I want to follow someone that is bold in truth and moral conviction. That’s why I support Robert Spencer. He speaks the truth, he’s moral in his intentions. And no amount of spit from his critics will ever change my mind.

I suspect that Mr. Spencer doesn’t know how good he is. An accidental trait that makes me admire him that much more.

Hi Jerry,
In regards to Muslims – We would do well to remember that ‘The road to hell is paved with good intentions.’ What I mean to say here is that many Muslims believe that all of the obvious evil THAT ISLAM ALLOWS (death to apostates, death to homosexuals and lesbians, pedophilia, grotesque misogyny, Sharia law, extortion via the jizya, etc.) is the duty of devout Muslims to enforce and they are willing to do so with glee.
Saleem Smith says
Bye the way, I am not Robert Spencer responding to your comment. The man is towering genius – while I am an oafish brute. How is that for self-effacing! haha Cheers

Oh, sorry, maybe I should have been more clear in regard to “good intentions.” I don’t mean good intentions of the islamic kind, where they try to “help” poor sinners and infidels by killing or torturing them for sharia. I meant intentions consistent with western human rights, like equality, free speech, religious freedom, right to life, stuff like that. So yeah, don’t follow the islamic idea of “good intentions,” for heaven’s sake, follow Spencer’s. Whew! It’s a good thing you caught me on that one.
And I’m much more humble and self-effacing than you. I’m so insignificant even ants step over me. Top that! 😉

I don’t speak for Robert Spencer, but I am a fan of his. Textbook hatred of Christians, Jews, and others by muslims is well known, it’s all over the place. Islam itself is built on hateful and bigoted aggression, so this comes as no surprise to me. Where ever islam has an influence on education we know it will have a corrupting effect on the minds of the young. It is inherently prejudiced against non-muslims and serves as a kind of propaganda for jihad preparation. I would compare it to the Nazification of Hitler’s youth, but I’m no historian.
In the attached link there’s an article about a US government study. Here’s 2 quotes from it:
”Teaching discrimination increases the likelihood that violent religious extremism in Pakistan will continue to grow, weakening religious freedom, national and regional stability, and global security,'”
”Religious minorities are often portrayed as inferior or second-class citizens who have been granted limited rights and privileges by generous Pakistani Muslims, for which they should be grateful,” the report said.
Islam teaching religious hatred? Who knew? Anyway, even if you could provide some sort of rebuttal for this particular study, I personally don’t care. Islam is by nature a bigoted and threatening religion that permeates every aspect of their culture and society. So it’s no great leap in logic to suppose it’s taught in schools too. And of course, it is.

lol, okay you got me. I drank some wine and was loving my hero maybe a little too much. I cringed a bit when I read it sober, but I don’t regret writing it. But really, can one talk too lofty about people that work in defense of human rights? If I can’t get syrupy over defending murdered innocents, female cruelty, and terrorist armies, then I guess nothing is worth some purple prose. But I don’t fault you for your observation. It’s always good to keep it “real.” Going to far with praise can sound awfully phony. Duly noted.

Saleem Smith says
Jews, Christians, Hindus, Buddhist, Atheists, Agnostic etc. would be fools not to be concerned about all of the hatred and hostility directed towards them in the Quran and Islam’s other “sacred texts.”
We ex-Muslims know that the PROBLEM WITH ISLAM is that Muslims want to follow the words and example of the evil Islamic prophet Muhammad and the fictitious Quran of the non-existent Islamic god Allah.
Quran: 005:051
Believers, take neither the Jews nor the Christians for your friends. They are friends with one another. Whoever of you seeks their friendship shall become one of their number. God does not guide the wrongdoers.
Quran: 003:085
He that chooses a religion other than Islam, it will not be accepted from him and in the world to come he will surely be among the losers.
Quran: 008:059
Let not the unbelievers think that they will ever get away. They have not the power to do so. Muster against them all the men and cavalry at your command, so that you may strike terror into the enemy of Allah and your enemy, and others besides them who are unknown to you but known to God. All that you give for the cause of Allah shall be repaid you. You shall not be wronged.
Hadith: Sahih Muslim 4294:
“When you meet your enemies who are polytheists, invite them to 3 courses of action. If they respond to any one of these, you also except it and withhold yourself from doing them any harm. Invite them to (accept) Islam; if they respond to you, accept it from them and desist from fighting against them. If they refuse to accept Islam, demand from them the Jizya (the Islamic tax). If they agree to pay, accept it from them and hold off your hands. If they refuse to pay the tax, seek Allah’s help and fight them.” – Muhammad
Here is a recent statement from a group of Bangladeshi apostates living in the UK explaining the reasons why they have abandoned Islam:
“One who claims to be a messenger of God is expected to live a saintly life. He must not be given to lust, he must not be a sexual pervert, and he must not be a rapist, a highway robber, a war criminal, a mass murderer or an assassin. One who claims to be a messenger of God must have a superior character. He must stand above the vices of the people of his time. Yet Muhammad’s life is that of a gangster godfather. He raided merchant caravans, looted innocent people, massacred entire male populations and enslaved the women and children. He raped the women captured in war after killing their husbands and told his followers that it is okay to have sex with their captives (Qur’an 33:50). He assassinated those who criticized him and executed them when he came to power and became de facto despot of Arabia. Muhammad was bereft of human compassion. He was an obsessed man with his dreams of grandiosity and could not forgive those who stood in his way…
The statement continues,
Muhammad was a narcissist, like Hitler, Saddam or Stalin. He was astute and knew how to manipulate people, but his emotional intelligence was less evolved than that of a 6-year-old child. He simply could not feel the pain of others. He brutally massacred thousands of innocent people and pillaged their wealth. His ambitions were big and as a narcissist he honestly believed he is entitled to do as he pleased and commit all sorts of crimes and his evil deeds are justified.”

Hope you and yours are doing well. My God, what an awful burden Islam is to all the world, even to millions of devout Muslims who are clueless that what they believe in is not something good but actually just about the most giant negative mankind has ever had to endure. Stay well and safe, Saleem.

Just looking at those quotes from the Islamic ‘holy scripture’ reminds me a lot of the sort of garbage you get in bottom-of-the-barrel, muck-raking party politics, and just underlines the contention that Islam is a pseudo-religious sham facade deliberately concocted by a criminal con-artist in persuance of his personal greed and imperialist political ambitions. And there have been plenty since (and no doubt before) Mohammed who have possessed the necessary dishonesty, amoral cynical greed and manipulative skills to stay ahead in the political game – I can think of one here in the UK who STILL hasn’t been hauled before the judges for his war crimes! The only thing that amazes me is the fact that this nasty charade of Islam has managed to stagger on for so long when it’s so obviously a transparent fraud. There must be so many gullible or potentially plain wicked people out there.

Standard orthodox islam.
Indeed, there’s no parallel to that for the same reason there’s no parallel to the space expedition to the surface of the Sun. Because those things never happened.
Considering that the so-called “golden ages” of islam are nothing more than conquest, enslavement, rape and pillage of other civilizations, that’s actually a good thing.

Again, standard orthodox islam.

Quote: “Christians and Europeans were not happy to see Muslims flourishing.”
When were ‘Muslims’ flourishing. There is no example where that happened until OPEC was created. Muslim prosperity only occurred wherever there were large numbers of slaves.
At all times at least half the population in Islamdom was enslaved (i.e. the women) and during most of the Islamic era millions of slaves did degrading and menial work until their bodies were destroyed by them and only then, they were ‘liberated’ by their masters for an existence of begging until they died of malnutrition, disease and exposure.
Wow! What a noble slave society Islam produced! Who wouldn’t be jealous?
Lucretius says
“These wars are called crusades because the Pope, a head of the Christians, called a council of war,” the text states. “In this meeting he declared that Jesus Christ sanctioned war against Muslims.”
Citation needed.
Actually this is one of the only things the text got right. It’s referring to Pope Urban II’s speech to the Council of Clermont (1095). Here, according to Robert the Monk’s account, is how the Pope used Christ to sanction war against the Muslims.
“O most valiant soldiers and descendants of invincible ancestors, be not degenerate, but recall the valor of your progenitors. But if you are hindered by love of children, parents and wives, remember that the Lord says in the Gospel: “He that loveth father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me. Everyone that hath forsaken houses or bretheren or sisters or father or mother or wife or children or lands for My Name’s sake, shall receive a hundred-fold, and shall inherit everlasting life.” [Matthew 10:37]
Now indeed, it is the Pope who is defining “Me” and “for My Name’s sake” as war to rescue the holy places from their desecrators and fellow Christians from their oppressors, and one could argue that Christ Himself would not acknowledge that this was “of Me” and “for My Name’s sake” (though to my mind they are causes just and noble), but that the Pope is saying that Christ sanctioned such war is pretty clear.

We would each buy a chocolate bar and a Coke with our 25c a week allowance and settle back to watch “The Twilight Zone”. “We control the vertical – we control the horizontal” – it would begin, as the screen went fuzzy and out of sync in both directions for a moment, then clear to focus in on the opening scene as the voice of Rod Serling began narrating the story… I must try to dig up some old episodes on YouTube for a nostalgia trip someday soon.

Islamic teaching conditions children to memorize uncritically and to ignore or even refuse solid facts that contradict Islam’s supremacist, kafir-hating narrative.
By claiming that “History has no parallel to the extremely kind treatment of the Christians by the Muslims”, Pakistan’s textbooks are just disinformation and denialism.
In this case, the barbarous treatment of minorities under Islamic rulers is well-documented and is not in dispute. However, most of these students will never study history in a Western university and learn that. Most of Pakistanis will be closed-minded, hardened bigots for life, making them unsuitable as immigrants in any country.
mortimer says
The Pakistani schooltext got one thing right: “All prayers nurture one’s passion for Jihad.”
Jihad is the prime directive of Islam. Jihad is ‘the hump of the camel’, the highest deed. A Muslim who does not conduct jihad or pay the money for another jihadist to replace him in this duty, is a munafiq or hypocrite who should be executed. ‘Moderate Muslims’ are therefore munafiqs who should be executed.

I watched the one hour show on Channel SBS in Melbourne Australia last Sunday night. It was titled ‘How Gay is Pakistan’. It was about an English muslim guy who was born in Pakistan but lives in England. He went around the secret gay clubs in Lahore, and spoke to the gay community and trans men. There are a lot of them by the way.
But at one point when they were walking along the street, a bunch of muslim men were gathering (as they do) and watching them. The camera went up to them and one of them said ‘ Come on, let’s go to the mosque for prayer. Don’t talk to these people, God hates anyone who is not muslim’.
And there you have it in a nutshell. God HATES anyone who is not muslim.

That’s why Islam flourishes in uneducated people, they don’t know any better. Satan knows this.

::
As far as Pakistan’s education system goes – it’s very little new here. The kids learn nothing of the region’s pre-Islamic history or significant figures from what was India or surrounding areas.
As with so many Islamic countries – that have sought to erase their history before Islam – for Egypt it is kind of in their face – yet along with most in North Africa they call themselves ‘Arabs’. And although Pakistan is a mere 69 years old – some believe it’s origins have more in connection with Arabia than India.
There was some discussion years ago about the infamous Pakistan school syllabus. In western schools there is ‘A’ for apple – in their schools there is a picture of a gun – called bandooq in urdu. So it is the letter ‘B’ for gun.
Completely shocking.
