In FrontPage today I discuss how yet another “anti-Muslim hate crime” has fizzled in the face of the facts:
The footage went far and wide, and was trumpeted everywhere as evidence of “Islamophobia” spreading like Ebola in Europe: a hijabbed Muslim woman was brutally mown down by a speeding car during a protest in the Muslim neighborhood of Molenbeek in Brussels. A passenger even leaned out of the car after hitting the woman and took a photo. The gruesome footage spread everywhere as evidence that the “far-right,” you see, had declared open season on poor Muslim migrants, and Muslims all across the continent were endangered. The only problem was that this scenario of white racists preying upon innocent Muslims, so wildly popular in the international media, was false yet again: people in the hit-and-run car were Muslims.
Breitbart reported Monday that “a hit and run on a Muslim women in Molenbeek this weekend, blamed on ‘far right’ anti-Islam demonstrators, was in fact perpetrated by an allegedly drunk local youth named ‘Mohamed’. The revelation comes after news websites across the world – including the Daily Mail, the New York Post, EuroNews, the Evening Standard, Russia Today, the International Business Times, the Sunday Times, the Huffington Post, the Metro, ITV News, the Daily Caller, the Independent, the Sun, the Mirror and more – lumped the blame onto ‘far right’ protesters in the no go zone of Brussels.”
Will we see retractions and apologies from those who spread this footage globally? Don’t hold your breath.
This is just another in a long line of “Islamophobic hate crimes” that turns out to have been perpetrated by Muslims. Indeed, many of them are actually faked by Muslims. The Hamas-linked Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), designated a terror organization by the United Arab Emirates, and other Muslims have on many occasions not hesitated to stoop even to fabricating “hate crimes,” including attacks on mosques. A New Jersey Muslim was found guilty of murder that he tried to portray as an “Islamophobic” attack, and in 2014 in California, a Muslim was found guilty of killing his wife, after first blaming her murder on “Islamophobia.”
This kind of thing happens quite frequently. The New York Daily News reported just last week that “a woman who told cops she was called a terrorist and slashed on her cheek in lower Manhattan on Thursday later admitted she made up the story, police said early Friday. The woman, who wore a headscarf, told authorities a blade-wielding wacko sliced open her face as she left a Manhattan cosmetology school, police sources said.”
And several weeks ago in Britain, the murder of a popular imam was spread far and wide as another “Islamophobic hate crime” – until his killer also was found to be a Muslim.
The Mirror reported that the imam “was targeted because he had made efforts to turn youngsters away from radical Islam.”
In February, according to The Detroit News, a Muslim woman, Saida Chatti, was “charged with making a false police report after she allegedly fabricated a plot to blow up Dearborn Fordson High School to retaliate against the November terrorist attacks in Paris….Police say Chatti called Dearborn investigators Nov. 19, six days after Islamic extremists killed 130 people in Paris.”
And similarly in January in Britain, a Muslim woman was “fined for lying to police about being attacked for wearing a hijab. The 18-year-old student, known only as Miss Choudhury, said she was violently shoved from behind and punched in the face by a man in Birmingham city centre 10 days after the atrocities in the French capital on November 13.”
In today’s politically correct environment, hate crimes are political capital. They foster the impression that resistance to Islamic terrorism equals hatred of Muslims, and results in the victimization of innocent people. Hamas-linked CAIR and other Islamic supremacist organizations want and need hate crimes against Muslims, because they’re the currency they use to buy power and influence in our victimhood-oriented society, and to deflect attention away from jihad terror and onto Muslims as putative victims. Want power and influence? Be a victim!

Matthieu Baudin says
“…In today’s politically correct environment, hate crimes are political capital. They foster the impression that resistance to Islamic terrorism equals hatred of Muslims, and results in the victimization of innocent people…”
It’s the New Left’s ‘Reds under Every Bed’ type of fixed paranoid view of modern society. There are evidently thinking people everywhere and they can’t be trusted to prop up the myth that Islamic Terror and Deceit isn’t Islamic at all. At every turn the violence and intimidation against ordinary civilians has to be downplayed, reinterpreted or ignored so that the ominous ‘backlash’ from unenlightened folk can be forestalled.

Shock! Horror! not. I guess the usual suspects will come out and say how shocked and horrified they are. Pity they’re not shocked and horrified when people are slaughtered in the name of their so-called religion. What I can’t understand is non-muslim people who take their side and call them victims. They’re only victims of the islamic death cult.

I fel it the same way.
Simply: Muslims are first and last victim of islam, Germans were first and last victims of nacism, Russians were first and (not) last victim of marxism. All that is true, but time to think this way is possible after nacism, communism, islam is dead. Otherwise it is a suicide.

For the time being. However, across the whole political spectrum, more people are realizing that obsession with identity politics can lead to no good. The more that happens, the more the left ostracises and excludes them. In the end, the groups doing the ostracising and exclusion will find themselves a small minority, ostracised and excluded by their own actions – they refuse to deal with others because racism, islamophobia and bigotry, so they’ll segregate themselves. Except that, unlike they claim, the “others” are not neo-Nazi-skin heads or white racists – they’re simply people unafraid to call a spade a spade, unafraid of slanderous accusations and armed with facts and data to support their “racist”, “bigoted”, “islamophobic” positions. Not only that, they can’t be brought down or dismissed on moral grounds. And they will find political expression. And then all bets are off.
Dov Berrol says
Meanwhile, anti-Jewish hate crimes committed by Muslims and their allies continue apace: Jerusalem’s Mayor Nir Barkat was treated to another verbal pogrom by Arabs and their Marxist allies in San Francisco yesterday. He was prevented from speaking by so called “social justice activists.” Will the Islamophobia never end?

When we contemplate summarizing the Islamic teachings concerning dealings with non-Muslims in relation to the halal and the haram, we find that the following two verses of the Qur’an are sufficient, for they provide comprehensive guidelines in this matter. Allah (Glory be to Him) says:
“Allah does not forbid you, with regard to those who do not fight you on account of your religion nor drive you out of your homes, to treat them with goodness and to be just to them; truly, Allah loves those who are just. Indeed, Allah forbids you (only) with regard to those who fight you on account of religion and drive you out of your homes, and assist (others) in driving you out, that you turn to them (in friendship); and whoever turns to them (in friendship), they are wrongdoers. (Quran – Al-Mumtahanah: 8-9)
The first of these two verses not only calls for justice and fairness in dealing with non-Muslims who neither fight Muslims on religious grounds nor drive them out of their homes – that is, those who are neither at war with nor hostile to Muslims – but also urges Muslims to be kind to them. The word birr or ‘goodness’ which is used in this verse is a very comprehensive term signifying that kindness and generosity which is over and above justice; it is the same word which is used to describe the Muslim’s duty to his parents.
We have said that this verse calls for justice; as Allah says:
“Allah loves those who are just” (Quran – Al-Mumtahanah verse 8)
And the believer always tries his best to do what Allah loves. Now, these is no contradiction between Allah’s saying:
“Allah does not forbid you” (Quran – Al-Mumtahanah verse 8)
Which is rather mild, and our interpretation to ‘calling for’ and ‘urging’ justice above. By the use of this expression, Allah wanted to remove from peoples’ minds the erroneous ideas that all non-Muslims are alike and that they do not deserve good treatments and kindness from Muslims.
Thus Allah made clear the fact that He did not prohibit kindness to non-Muslims in general but only to those who are at war with and hostile to Muslims. This is similar to what Allah said concerning As-safa and al-Marwah when some people refrained from going between them due to some customs of Jahiliyyah:
“… For one who makes Hajj or Umrah to the (Sacred) House, there is no fault in going between them…” (Quran – Al-Baqarah verse 158)
Since going between the two hills – the rite of sa’y – is actually obligatory as it is a part of Hajj and Umrah, the denial of fault occurs in order to remove the misconception of Jahiliyyah.
SPECIAL CONSIDERATION FOR THE PEOPLE OF THE BOOK
While Islam does not prohibit Muslims to be kind and generous to peoples of other religions, even if they idolaters and polytheists, as for example, the polytheists of Arabia, concerning whom the verses were revealed, it looks upon the People of the Book, that is, Jews and Christians, with special regard, whether they reside in a Muslim society or outside it. The Qur’an never addresses them without saying:
“O people of the book”
or
“O You who have been given the Book”
Indicating that they originally people of a revealed religion. For this reason there exists a relationship of mercy and spiritual kinship between them and the Muslims, all having in common the principles of the one true religion sent by Allah through his Prophets (Peace be on them all):
“He has ordained for (the Muslims) the same religion which He enjoined on Nuh, and that which We have revealed to you (Muhammad) and that which We enjoined on Ibrahim(Abraham), Musa (Moses), and Isa (Jesus): that you should establish the faith an make no division in it…” (Quran – Ash-Shura verse 13)
Muslims are required to believe in all Books revealed by Allah and in all the Prophets sent by Him; otherwise they are not believers.
“Say: We (Muslims) believe in Allah and in what He has revealed to us, and in what He revealed to Ibrahim and Isma’il and Ishaq (Isaac) and Ya’qob (Jacob) and the tribes (of Israel), and in what was given to Musa (Moses) and Isa (Jesus), and in what was given to (all) the Prophets by their Lord. We make no distinction between any of them, and to Him do we submit. (Quran – Al-Baqarah verse 136)
Consequently, if the People of the Book read the Qur’an, they will find in it praise for their books, Messengers, and Prophets.
If Muslims hold discussions with the People of the Book, they should avoid such approaches as cause bitterness or arouse hostility:
“And do not dispute with the People of Book except by (the way) which is best, unless it be with such of as transgress, and say, ‘We believe in what has been sent down to us and sent down to you, and our God and your God is One, and to Him do we submit’.” (Quran – Al-Ankabut verse 46)
We have already seen how Islam permits eating with the People of the Book, sharing the meat they slaughter, and marrying their women, marriage being a relationship of mutual love and mercy. Allah says:
“… The food of those who were given Scripture (before you) is permitted to you and your food is permitted to them. And (lawful to you in marriage are) chaste women from among the Believers and chaste women from among those who were given the Scripture before you…” (Quran – Al-Ma’idah verse 5)
This relates to the People of the Book in general. However, Christians in particular have been given special status by the Qur’an and are considered closer to the believers. The Qur’an states:
“… and indeed you will definitely find the nearest of them in affection to the ones who have believed are the ones who say, ‘we are Nasara.’ That is because among them are priests and monks, and they do not wax proud.” (Quran – Al-Ma’idah verse 82)
