UK city council says city “too multicultural” to celebrate St. George’s Day

Apr 24, 2016 9:52 pm By Robert Spencer

Meanwhile, Muslims in the UK are not and will never be “too multicultural” to celebrate Eid. Goodbye, Bristol. Goodbye, England. Goodbye, Britain.

“Anger as council officials say UK city is ‘too multicultural’ to celebrate St George’s Day,” by Zoie O’Brien, Express, April 25, 2016:

AN ENGLISH city council REFUSED to host St George’s Day celebrations because the area is “too multicultural”.

Bristol City Council allowed the national day to pass without a single event for the patron saint, despite its history dating back to 1222.

Council chiefs said 91 different languages are spoken in the town and it would be “very difficult to commemorate them all”.

Some in the area feel as though the English symbol has been hijacked by far right groups and are concerned about being branded “racist”.

According to the Daily Star Sunday, Kalphna Woolf, founder of 91 Ways to Build a Global City, which aims to unite Bristol’s multicultural communities, said people can be frightened of the white and red St George’s flag.

She said: “There was a point in the past when I’d see the St George’s Day flag flying and it would frighten me, as it had been taken over by ‘we are England’ type groups.”…

So I suppose Yule/Christmas, All Saints Day/Halloween, and every other non-islamic holiday will go the same way. Why doesn’t the British Gov just give machine guns to all the Muslim police and have them murder all non- Muslim Britons? THIS IS MAKING ME CRAZY!!!

I agree, I no longer feel sorry for any European country which is willing to surrender its cultural heritage so that they do not offend Muslims. These countries deserve to be taken over by Islamic jihad and the women forced to wear Muslim clothing. Much of the West is all too willing to give up their culture and civilization. Liberalism, Feminism, and Islamism are destroying the West.

When a Christian nation rejects God and relies upon itself, then the hand of protection is removed and the locusts swarm – as they are doing now. Only a massive turning back to God will save us, but I don’t see that happening in the near future.

Bristol’s fathers don’t want to the protection of the 2nd c. Palestinian Martyr Saint? They abjure the God-man in whose service the heroic St. George died? Then they can beg the paynim to protect them as dhimmi in that day.

That’s exactly what needs to happen. An eye for an eye thing. What’s good for the goose is good for the gander. I wonder if Muslims have any outwardly apparent celebration? I would protest and complain about it to my City.

        • Cecilia Ellis says

          Apr 25, 2016 at 1:45 am

“I wonder if Muslims have any outwardly apparent celebration?”

Linnte, according to the Council of Islamic Organizations of Greater Chicago, “Muslims have two major annual celebrations called Eid, which means ‘recurring happiness’: Eid-ul-Fitr (Eid of Fast-Breaking) and Eid-ul-Adha (Eid of Sacrifice).” [1]

“Eid-ul-Fitr is an Islamic holiday that marks the end of Ramadan, the month of fasting. Fiṭr means “to break the fast” and therefore symbolizes the breaking of the fasting period. Many Muslims dress in fancy traditional clothes early in the morning and then head to special prayers in congregation held only on this occasion in mosques or in large open areas, stadiums or arenas. The prayer is generally short and is followed by a sermon (Khutba). Worshippers greet and embrace each other in a spirit of peace and love after the congregational prayer. Festivities then follow that involve visiting the homes of relatives and friends. On Eid ul-Fitr, Muslims celebrate the achievement of enhanced piety. It is a day of forgiveness, moral victory, brotherhood, fellowship, and unity. Muslims celebrate not only the end of fasting, but also thank God for the strength He gave them throughout the month of Ramadan to help them practice self-control. It is a time of giving and sharing.” [2]

“Eid-ul-Adha, which occurs approximately seventy days after Eid-ul-Fitr, commemorates the Prophet Ibrahim’s (Abraham’s) willingness to sacrifice his son Ismail (Ishmael) for Allah.” [3]

So, Linnte, it looks like our best opportunity is Eid-ul-Fitr . . . That part about large open areas, stadiums or arenas caught my attention. So did the part about moral victory . . .

Oh, Cecilia and Linnte, the Eids are *much worse* than this implies.

Eid-ul-Fitr celebrates the first Muslim victory over the ‘filthy Infidels’ at the Battle of Badr.

And Eid-ul-Adha celebrates Muslim supremacy, since it substitutes the proto-Muslim Ishmael for the Jewish Issac.

Another hideous aspect of the Eid of Sacrifice is how it is “celebrated”–with Muslims butchering animals in the streets until the gutters run red with blood.

          Here’s one horrific picture:

          http://skepticsannotatedbible.com/diu/eid.jpg

Here’s another, after the poor dead beasts have been dragged away:

          https://insideotherplaces.files.wordpress.com/2015/10/wpid-20150925094819.jpg

While the Muslims were largely confined to the Middle East and North Africa they were no real threat to us. However weak-kneed politicians and demographers in the West decided that our populations were receding and some new blood was necessary. That and the reality of gaining a cheap work force to do jobs that our own workers couldn’t or wouldn’t do. Now the chips are down, and that stupid short-sighted stratagem has ensured that we’ve taken on a whole new threat to our civilisation. I see no alternative to eventual civil war as we’ll have to fight to retain all that’s best from the Enlightenment.

Those of us who oppose this takeover of our countries by the politically correct in defense of barbarians bent on destroying civilization, should not shrink from being called names. I bear the sobriquet “Islamaphobe” with honor. However, I do not fear them so much as hate their inhumane philosophy.

Great Britain MUST vote to leave the EU, whose goal is a one-world with income equality and taking from productive hard-working people to give to the lazy, good for nothings, mostly Muslims. England, the land of the Magna Carta, the land of bravery during the World Wars will no longer exist or even be allowed to defend itself.

In 100 years maybe the patron saint of England will be none other than Muhammad the prophet of Islam, and Jolly Old England will be ruled by Sharia law and the many evil directives found in the Quran and Sunnah.

If the UK is to become Islamic and ruled by Sharia law, they will need to hire some full time Mohammedan executioners and professional be-headers. They will also need to invest in more body bags and coffins. The more Islam that gets applied, the worse things get, and one only has to look to the Islamic nations of Pakistan, Iran, Saudi Arabia, the Sudan, ect. to see this.

The main problem with Islam is its founder. The Quran says that Muhammad’s behaviour is to be emulated by Muslims believers. But Muhammad was a psychopath. So that can’t be good.

      Qur’an, 033:021
There is a good example in God’s apostle for those of you who look to God and the Last Day and remember God always.

      Qur’an, 009:029
Fight against such of those to whom the Scriptures were given as believe neither in God nor the Last Day, who do not forbid what God and His Apostle have forbidden, and who do not embrace the true Faith, until they pay tribute out of hand and are utterly subdued.

Ex-Muslim Ali Sina’s on-going $50,000 challenge to Muslims can be found over at Faith Freedom, org website:

      The Challenge>>

I receive many emails from angry Muslims, who sometimes beg me, and sometimes order me to remove this site. I consider both, pleading and bullying, signs of psychopathology. Argumentum ad baculum and argumentum ad misericordiam are both logical fallacies.

If you do not like this site and want me to remove it, instead of acting as a bully or as a victim, disprove my charges against Muhammad logically. Not only will I remove the site, I will publicly announce that Islam is a true religion. I will also pay

      $50,000 U.S. dollars

to anyone who can disprove any of the dozen of the accusations that I have made against Muhammad. I accuse Muhammad of being:

      a narcissist
      a misogynist
      a rapist
      a pedophile
      a lecher
      a torturer
      a mass murderer
      a cult leader
      an assassin
      a terrorist a mad man
      a looter

…These charges are irrefutable. You simply can’t disprove them because they are reported in Islamic sources and as such they are as good as confession…

It does not seem likely to be as soon as 20 years; I agree with Saleem on a longer trajectory of approximately 100 years (give or take). And it’s likely not going to be a “civil war”, but a quite uncivil mess of outbreaks of violence and destabilization all over the place, over 90% of it caused by Muslims — along with Western police & military defensive actions to try to hold together their shattered societies falling apart at the seams. If the West during those 100 years keeps putting off the exigency of rounding up and deporting all Muslims, it will end up being forced to either submit to Muslim rule, or to genocide Muslims. I favor the more humane and reasonable option: total deportation. The likelihood that it won’t happen (that the West probably won’t do it) isn’t my fault, nor due to some inherent flaw in the idea. It will be due solely to the negligence & irresponsibly rigid thinking of too many Westerners (including in the Counter-Jihad, who think we will be able to solve this protracted, horribly metastasizing slow-mo train wreck by “banning Islam” or by targeting only “extremist Salafists”, etc.

80 years!? You are an optimist. Islam does not need to be in the majority to severely disrupt society and make far reaching demands. In reality Britain has 20 -25 years before the Islamic incursion starts to make a massive difference. The youth of today who favour remaining in the EU do not realise what is coming down the road or how close it is. Leaving the EU might give Britain a chance, with good governance,of escaping the Islamic nightmare.

True ,the Cotswolds is a conservation area and an expensive place to live and many tourists come to the towns and villages,,especially StratfordUpon Avon, stow on the wold, snows hill,Blenheim Palace, and others. Most of the rural areas are Muslim free at present but of course Britain is small. The Eastern shires are still Muslim free,Norfolk,Suffolk ,Lincolnshire but the northern Midlands and the North are becoming significantly Islamic. Over to the West there is Shropshire,Herefordshire,Worcestershire, Devonshire,Somersetshire ,Dorsetshire and Cornwall. These are still Muslim free areas, and very pretty. Westman, you are correct, at least in my case. In the past, until about three years ago, I visited England as a tourist at least two or three times a year. The last time I was there, seeing the destruction of the culture in the West End with women walking around in garbage bags, working at Tescos in their hijabs, wearing odd, tortoise shell masks and the general degeneration of civilization wrought by the invasion of Muslims, I no longer go to England or any part of Europe, for that matter. I used to spend several weeks in the Spring in Spain. No longer. It appears that the English would rather host Muslims on the dole than pound sterling spending Americans. They do not have to worry about my arriving any longer.

“seeing the destruction of the culture in the West End with women walking around in garbage bags, working at Tescos in their hijabs”

To the Western multiculturalist, those are signs of “diversity” which therefore makes us feel good for not only “tolerating” it but also “celebrating” it — because then we are “open minded” and “evolved”, etc. Like the oddly named Bristol woman featured in this article, Kalpna Woolf (“Kalpna” I believe is a non-Muslim Hindu name, but she’s evidently white), who on her organization’s website (“91 Ways to Build a Global City”), has a page:

Very tired of this trolls ignorance of the west, and dishonesty about the source of our losing our knowledge of our roots and history.

We ARE losing our foundation in all too many areas…. Education has become indoctrination, media is political propaganda, our legal system is tainted by vile and corrupt politics, and our politics are a threat to all we hold to be of value…. Very depressing, and very sad.

But what is the cause of the rot that cb (neither a Christian, and eager to see others blood spilled) is so fond of decrying? What has been the major cause of the corruption, which does indeed exist and threatens us all?? Who has been so successful at attacking us, as an enemy to be destroyed by any and all means……??

Fellow travelers, useful idiots, indoctrinated fools spreading their vile and vicious fraud about the west, killing it with lies…. Well, lets face it…. The soviet union lost the cold war, but their stealth efforts to divide us against each other, to weaken us from within, has been much too successful… And this demented troll comes by, and attacks us for the success that he and his have attained, at our expense.

YOU, and your ilk are the source of our anti-Christian rot, the rejection of our success and greatness. howard zinn was NOT president of the NRA…. He was a vile and vicious hater of all that is good in the west, and produced a book of lies that those like him have put in classrooms throughout the US….

Feel free to take your cheques by pointing fingers at us for our cultural suicide… But don’t lie about it being an actual suicide, it is more accurately described as cultural murder, committed by you and your masters. The Political Correctness that is poisoning us and taking our strength, is a war committed against us by the left… by the friends and community that cb is a member of.

Of course the attitude of this City Council is contradictory and absurd. Anyone striving for a multicultural society must first acknowledge and then accept the differences of those that comprise their society. It’s backward to suggest that multiculturalism requires hiding the beliefs and traditions of some for others. If you do that then you have ceased to be “multicultural.”

A truly multicultural society is one in which all the participants agree to respect the beliefs and opinions of others to their utmost ability. By acting so meek and cowardly with this important national holiday they are declaring before the world the failure of multiculturalism in their nation. Deference is shown instead to the new ruler of their land, muslims who are asserting their faith as superior to the rights and religions of others.

Spencer said it well enough, “Goodbye, England. Goodbye, Britain.”

    • Jerry says

      Apr 24, 2016 at 10:51 pm

If Brits can’t justify celebrating a national holiday of this high repute and age then they have abandoned all rights to any thing less. Imagine declaring yourself a multicultural society but denying your own heritage down to the deepest parts. It’s true that any society striving for multiculturalism may have that line of contention that leads to friction. But to suggest that something this big in British culture must be suppressed for multicultural sensibilities is a retarded thing to say. Seriously, it makes no sense whatsoever. A multicultural society requires the cooperation of all, not undue consideration for the feelings of a hypersensitive minority (not to mention a whiny, threatening, and murderous, minority).

No culture can be “multicultural” with islam. Either islam rules or is ruled, mutual respect and compatibility is not possible with people that want you dead or submitting.

“If Brits can’t justify celebrating a national holiday of this high repute and age…”

The problem with Western history & heritage in general — not just with St. George (among other illustrious things, an inspiration to the 12th century Crusaders) — is that if one studies it more closely, it is brimming with a civilizational self-defense against Mohammedan attacks, spanning over a thousand years. Virtually every major Western historical process and event had some Muslim angle or dimension to it.

So if we the West were to properly celebrate and honor our history & heritage — in a literate & honest way, that is — we would perforce be raising into conscious clarity the rather remarkable fact that a good half of being a Westerner historically is to be a Defender of the West against Islam.

Historically, and now. And this time around, as this catastrophe of a global revival of Islam metastasizes all around us (including more and more within our own gates), we may be miraculously lucky even to be “doomed to repeat” the history we don’t learn in time — if we won’t just be bloody well doomed, period.

        If you came this way,
Taking the route you would be likely to take
From the place you would be likely to come from…

It would be the same at the end of the journey,
If you came at night like a broken king,
If you came by day not knowing what you came for,
It would be the same, when you leave the rough road
And turn behind the pig-sty to the dull facade
        And the tombstone. …

        There are other places
Which also are the world’s end, some at the sea jaws,
Or over a dark lake, in a desert or a city–
But this is the nearest, in place and time,
        Now and in England.

        . . .

        A people without history
Is not redeemed from time, for history is a pattern
Of timeless moments. So, while the light fails
On a winter’s afternoon, in a secluded chapel
        History is now and England.

P.S.: Eliot’s poem quoted above begins with “Midwinter spring is its own season” — and we note grimly that the West is in the middle of a winter of an “Arab Spring” but remains blind to the danger behind this false hope of “diversity” in its own deluded spring of multiculturalism…

Just to keep a bit of perspective; St. Georges day hasn’t really been celebrated for well over 70 years,or more. I don’t know why because St. Patrick’s day ,St. Andrew’s day is celebrated, not by the English though. St.David’s day is not really celebrated either. Over the last 30 years or so there has been a revival in Englishness ,rightly so because England is and has been the driving force of Britain. People started to try to revive St. George’s day,but without much success. That is not to say that some villages and towns don’t continue St. George traditions but by and large the English don’t bother and haven’t for many years. That’s not an excuse though for some dopey lefty multi culti twit stopping a St. George celebration if the people want one. Unfortunately most British people agree with you. It is the rotten politicians who are implementing this betrayal. Muslims are very busy infiltrating the politics of Britain, in all political parties.
Why, the minister in charge of counter terrorism is one “lord” Tariq Ahmed, who shows little interest in curbing hate preachers or stopping all the Muslim demos which bring the streets to a standstill. The politicians direct their energies and attention to keeping any word of Muslim attacks, rapes, demos out of the news and off the airwaves. The MSM are all complicit in this.
It took five days for the Cologne mass attacks to be mentioned on the BBC, and then it would not have been if social media was not buzzing with it.

If you want to understand and unravel ‘this thing’, begin with the School of Frankfurt (http://www.schillerinstitute.org/fid_91-96/921_frankfurt.html). You’ll find here all the modern catchphrases, back in the 20’s and 30’s.

It’s adherents are the anarchists and Maosists which formed in the 60s out of the anti Vietnam war movements. They failed, and decided to start the ‘Long March through the Institutions’. They did, they infiltrated and undermined everything. You find most of them in the ‘green movements and parties’. Green sounds nicer than socialist etc. Gets converts easier.

Take a good look at Daniel Cohn-Bendit and Barbara Lecter Spectre.

“There exists a law, not written down anywhere, but inborn in our hearts; a law which comes to us not by training or custom, nor by reading but by derivation, by absorption and adoption from nature itself; a law which has come to us not from theory but from practice, not by institution but by natural intuition. I refer to the law which lays it down that, if our lives are endangered by plots or violence or armed robbers or enemies, any and every method of protecting ourselves is morally right.”

What Cicero told the Senate so eloquently and politely was this: If you fail to defend the people, the people will have to defend themselves, by whatever means.

It should be no surprise that St. George celebrations would be dismissed . . . he allegedly was killed at the direction of Diocletian, a Roman emperor known for hating Christians. He would not be alone.

Additionally, as early as July 2006, the Church of England considered the rejection of St. George as England’s patron saint. St. Alban was suggested as his replacement, ostensibly because St. Alban lived in England. However, as stated in a 2006 Daily Mail news article, “The saint became an English hero during the crusades against the Muslim armies that captured Jerusalem in the 11th century.” [1] That may well be the reason why certain “people can be frightened of the white and red St. George’s flag,” a flag which bears the Cross.

And England isn’t the only nation – or city – in his extensive saintly “portfolio”. He is the patron saint not only of England but of Georgia, Malta, Portugal and Romania. So, after being born in the Holy Land and martyred in Anatolia he ends up getting commissioned to ‘look after’ five different countries in southern Europe, northwestern Europe, the Mediterranean, and … the Caucasus. Transcending the boundaries between the Eastern and the Western Church, and between southern and northern Europe.

All speak English. Often rather richly intoned English, & all wear
Western clothes & many are churchgoers.
Over the last decade we have had to deal with hundreds of muslims, many illegals.
The taxis are mainly driven by Afghans in full tribal gear & many African muslims have arrived.
Recently a group of Somalian men were jailed for gang raping Bristol girls (some aged 14)
    in a hotel.
Since the men lived half a mile away one might have thought the staff wondered why four
men shared a room & had young white girls regularly marched in to a previously respectable hotel.
    All caught on CCTV.

Too multicultural means too much of a good thing. Now, before you criticize, take this thought experiment. Water is a good thing, but if you drink gallons of it in a matter of a minute or two you’ll drown. The drowning part is bad but water is still good. Necessary, in fact.

So too much Moslemism in Bristol is too much of a good thing. Moslems are a good thing, but if they’re too numerous mass murder can happen if they’re offended by the holding of a celebration hundreds of years old another religion. The cancellation of the fete is bad but Moslems are still good. Necessary, in fact.

Necessary for what, I still don’t understand. But the bureaucrats in Brussels and London are still flying them in to go on welfare. Probably something to do with a declined birth rate among white girls.

        1) the type clearly labeled “poison” (the Tiny Minority of Extremists whom everyone, even most PC MCs, agree are bad)

        2) the remaining seeming majority of Muslims who don’t seem dangerous (and whose non-dangerousness is even defended by various Jihad Watchers).

#1 is the obvious poison, labeled as such. #2 seems like water, and often there’s no proof that it’s not as benign as water. Which is why I recommend that we cultivate prejudice — assuming axiomatically that it’s poison, without waiting around for an explosion or a beheading to prove it. But the Counter-Jihad Mainstream disagrees with me, apparently (which is an indication that the West at large will not wake up in time to prevent its own destruction at the hands of the metastasizing global revival of Islamic jihad).

And why would we “cultivate prejudice — assuming axiomatically that it’s poison [“it” being Muslims], without waiting around for an explosion or a beheading to prove it.” ?

Anyone who has been reading Jihad Watch regularly and can’t answer why it’s a good idea to do the above either hasn’t been reading carefully enough, or has residues of PC MC in their heart & mind preventing them from coming to the horrible conclusion to which the drearily horrific mountains of data catalogued here at Jihad Watch ought to lead them.

“Coming to the horrible conclusion” being an eerily similar statement, in nature, to the way how you tried to pin Breivik’s actions on the writings of prominent critics of islam – “Breivik was not insane, he simply took the words of prominent critics of islam to their inescapable conclusion and now they want to distance from him. It’s like they shouted ‘fire’, he came in with a hose, splashed water everywhere and those people back-pedalled – ‘we didn’t meant fire in that way’ “

There’s no reference to who said it, but it stinks of Islam. “Too multicultural”. “Islamaphobia”. “Racist”. All are meaningless absurdities designed to justify the continuing burial of any European and Christian reference custom or holiday. If there were even the tiniest bit of sincere appreciation coming from these migrants for having a free and prosperous country to live in, they’d be showing it by supporting the customs or holidays of the host country. Their continuing struggle to decimate Europes culture shows them for who they truly are – invaders, ingrates, Islamists. It is only a matter of time before the dam bursts.

To any English posters and lurkers who may be feeling disheartened and despairing due to the avalanche of ‘dementor-feeding’ that is going on in this thread.

    Do. not. despair.

Join and support 1/ Paul Weston’s “Liberty Great Britain”. 2/ PEGIDA UK. 3/ Your local non-Muslim religious group, if you identify at all with any major non-Muslim religion; if you call yourself Christian, or Jewish, or Buddhist, or Hindu, or Sikh, *be* what you said you were, and get active, and be visible, and… do whatever you can to raise awareness, among your coreligionists, of the Meaning and Menace of Islam. 4/ Gavin Boby’s Law and Freedom Foundation. They frequently campaign against the building of mosques. Look them up. Support them.

And, finally, last but not least: **join The Royal Society of Saint George**, which is under the direct patronage of no less a person than Her Majesty the Queen. *They* have a ‘fly the flag’ campaign. If you join THAT and then hang out the flag on your home or business premises, any snitching, carping busybody, if they *dare* to accuse you of being a ‘rightwingracist’ whatever, when they see it, can be referred to the Society and to the Queen.

If thousands and thousands of Islamoaware people joined The Royal Society of Saint George – a dear old old-fashioned patriotic society that was formed in 1894; it could become a force to be reckoned with.

It identifies itself as non-political, but it *also* identifies itself as *patriotic*.

    http://www.royalsocietyofstgeorge.com

Here’s their ‘fly the flag’ campaign.

    http://www.royalsocietyofstgeorge.com/secondary-information/history-society-2

“Flags may be flown on every day of the year. Government and local authority buildings in England, Scotland and Wales are encouraged to fly national flags every day of the year (there are certain additional regulations in Northern Ireland).

“Flags are normally flown from sunrise to sunset but they may also be flown at night, when they should be illuminated.

“No permission is needed to fly the national flags and they are excluded from most planning and advertising regulations (but flagpoles may not be).”

    http://www.royalsocietyofstgeorge.com/application/files/3014/6049/0255/Flying_the_flag_guidance_on_flying_the_cross_of_St_George_with_RSSG_Arms.pdf

I observe this, among the founding aims of the Society:

“To further English interest everywhere to ensure that St. George’s Day is properly celebrated and to provide focal points all the world over where English men and women may gather together.”

And whenever you start feeling discouraged, try reading G K Chesterton’s “The Ballad of the White Horse”. If necessary, out loud. And also I commend to you his novel, “The Flying Inn”.

          Apr 25, 2016 at 3:35 pm

Yes. And not only England. We’re talking about every Western country.

And an important part of “taking back” our West involves a healthy sense of the actual nature of the enemy. All action begins with ideas. And all ideas begin with a personal process of awareness, education, conviction, emotion.

As long as I don’t see enough of this healthy sense (not even among so many in the Counter-Jihad), I find it difficult to hold out hope, for this healthy sense is the raw material, the substance, of the ideas and actions that would grow into adequate self-defense against the actual danger Mohammedans present. A few Middle Eastern Christians I’ve met have told me that “you Westerners don’t have any clue how evil all Muslims are”. It’s the dreaded A word (“all” Muslims) that sticks in the craw, and in the PC-MC-deformed conscience of the typical Westerner (including many in the Counter-Jihad). Their inherited Wilsonianism — even if only in small residues (speaking of small amounts of poison…) — becomes psychologically a powerful inhibitor in them; you can tell they have a deep, anxious aversion to coming to the horrible conclusion that all Muslims are our enemy. You can tell it in a thousand ways, by the way they protest in myriad subtle ways to the logic based upon this. At least I can tell, from tangling with Counter-Jihadists of various flavors & degrees for over a decade here, at Gates of Vienna, and in dozens of other venues.

I heard a debate on radio this morning. The media is in desperation. They loose cash despite the fact that the state is funding them (that is peoples taxes) to lie. Most people adblock. Few wants to pay for their + editions and paperversions are on a long downward slope. I have seen some norwegian papers offer a kind of “8 NOK for one article” deal. In the debate it was said to be a failure. The only paper that is going up is the one who tells thing as rhey are…

And the state owned propaganda-machine NRK is not funded with comercials (not supossed to be…) but with taxes. For years more and more people are shouting out to be free from it. That is, you have to pay $200 a year if you own a TV. Since it was only a radio/TV station before the rise of the web.

Islaam would like to cause trouble between the cultures, like the Jewish argument. Because all love and attention must go to the eastern vampire, Allah, the supreme narcissist.

Rome didn’t really “fall” to the so-called “Germanic” tribes (many of them roaming across into Europe from central “Asia”) as it became transformed into something else; and a large part of that transformation involved the slow and steady Christianization of it into, from the 4th century forward, a Christian Roman Empire now with considerable assimilation of European peoples. While many of them were “barbarians” and had now and again come into conflict with the pagan Roman Empire, ultimately they behaved diametrically opposite to the way the Mohammedans behaved: the European “barbarians” over time recognized the superiority of Roman ways to their backward ways, and then this morphed into a recognition of the superiority of Christian Rome. And so assimilation occurred, over centuries. And as the 5th and 6th centuries unfolded, a new civilization was dawning, not only vibrantly reanimating the Mediterranean, but also spreading into northern Europe and the British Isles, and across all of North Africa, the Middle East, and into Asia Minor and deep into what later would become “Russia”.

Then out of the Arabian desert stormed the Mohammedan demons, who raped and pillaged and plundered like ISIS to the east, north and west and in an astoundingly short time had won through violence an empire larger than Alexander the Great’s. It was this, historian Henri Pirenne argued, that caused the so-called “Dark Ages” — which really was a protracted event of Christian Rome going on the defensive and to a large extent, by sheer necessity of survival, turning inward. And because its native, natural culture was so full of goodness and talent, this eventually proved to be a silver lining to the monstrous disaster of the Spawn of Mohammed; for the West eventually grew, century after century, into a global power so superior on every level to its former nemesis, Islam, that by the 18th century (and in full bloom, the 19th) it was able to colonize virtually the whole Muslim world.

Unfortunately (and it seems, as we look bleakly ahead to our own 21st century unfolding, tragically), the West during this great period of ascendancy happened to succumb to a complex case of historical amnesia about its former foe, and as part of that process developed the mass neurosis of Politically Correct Multi-Culturalism — which may well be our Achilles heel that will enable Muslims to bring the Giant down, a dream they’ve been yearning for, for centuries. Now in this century within their grasp only because of our collective stupidity. If we don’t realize that all Muslims are our enemy soon enough, we will go down. I don’t hold out high hopes for this recover of our historical memory, however; given that even in the Counter-Jihad, this preciously minuscule subculture of “canaries-in-a-coalmine”, there seems to be a widespread, visceral rejection of our only hope — a healthy sense of prejudice against all Muslims.

“Those who forget the past are doomed to repeat it.”

However, the “past” of the West was a millennial process of defending itself against Mohammedans, and ultimately winning by the 18th century (in full bloom by the 19th), where the West was so globally superior to its former foe, it was able to stride over the Muslim world colonizing virtually all of it. Now that’s a past I wouldn’t mind being doomed to repeat. (Though, of course, I wouldn’t want to also repeat the mistake we made in Colonialism of grievously underestimating the fanaticism of Muslim culture and in not providing safeguards against its revival, then the subsequent mistake of a flowering of Politically Correct Multi-Culturalism — for that would be a repetitious Groundhog’s Day of Doom…)

No, the more accurate moral would be that, in this case, Those who forget the past are doomed. Full stop.

Across the Islamic world if citizens don’t take part in the Ramadan fasting – they could face prison – usually 6 months. So insane is that period – in Algeria – some Christians have even been brought before the court for the crime of ‘eating during Ramadan’ the Islamic daylight fasting period.

But here is the west – as an expression of multiculturalism – you have leaders exclaiming that they took part in the Ramadan fast [for a day] – for a practice that a person could be imprisoned for in the Islamic world – that is in no way ‘optional’. Then break their necks to wish Muslims a happy Eid – but to say Merry Christmas – or to speak of Christmas – might ‘offend’!!

One must ask – what’s the ‘multi’ in multiculturalism about??

They should just be clear – all that does not ‘offend’ Islamic-culturalism.

    ::

In this case – the 1000 year St Georges Day event – becomes not a celebration or an opportunity for ‘inclusion’ – but a protest.

As soon as they say ‘inclusion’ ~ know what they really mean is ‘exclusion’

And isn’t diversity supposed to mean embracing *more*, not fewer, celebrations? Odd how it often means anything but…

    More:

According to the Daily Star Sunday, Kalphna Woolf, founder of 91 Ways to Build a Global City, which aims to unite Bristol’s multicultural communities, said people can be frightened of the white and red St George’s flag.

She said: “There was a point in the past when I’d see the St George’s Day flag flying and it would frighten me, as it had been taken over by ‘we are England’ type groups.”…

And wherever you may find me, you’ll find England.

England, my England, she never lets me down,
Hustle bustle, urban tussle, dancing through the crowds,
Or out in the country, a fresh place for me to breathe,
England my England is always home to me!
Fish and chips in paper, with mushy peas,
Balti chicken, naan bread and onion bhajis,
A cup of tea and toast, roast beef and Yorkshire pudding,
Tastes of our culture, tastes like England to me!
Swing low sweet chariot, God Save The Queen!
Land of hope and glory and of pleasant mountains green,
