Exposing the role that Islamic jihad theology and ideology play in the modern global conflicts

Video: Ex-Muslim: “The level of violence in the Qur’an was simply unacceptable to me”

Apr 25, 2016 11:18 am By Robert Spencer

Omar Makram, a courageous ex-Muslim atheist, recounts how studying the Qur’an and the live of Muhammad led him out of Islam altogether. One noteworthy aspect of his remarks here is that he acknowledges the violence and hatred in the Qur’an and Sunnah that non-Muslim leaders and Islamic apologists in the West routinely deny exists. Did he somehow get hold of an “Islamophobic” Qur’an with its text tampered? Or is he honest where Western leaders and Islamic apologists are not?

(Small warning for some salty language.)

Interesting point. Since they all walk over common areas the foot fungus would eventually spread from one to another and it would become another “stinky-footed-mosque” SFM

The level of violence in the koran was simply unacceptable to me. I was repulsed by the idea of such an angry, vengeful, hateful god. Who in his vanity seemed rather too human. So I came to the conclusion that islam is just incompatible with the values of human rights, or the values of a decent human being…

Eloquently spoken. These are the people that lift my hopes. I’m always encouraged when I see any religious person overcome their religious brainwashing, especially muslims since their faith is so violent and hateful. And here we have someone on the “inside” telling the same truth that we “islamophobes” have been saying for years. This can only help us, since it becomes a lot harder to criticize those who have lived the life. I don’t think for one second that millions of muslims are going to apostatize. But maybe some will listen to this man’s rational reasons and then they too will gain the courage to abandon their delusions for allah. It never hurts to have one more person out there speaking the truth about this depraved ideology. In his own way he’s a hero for good morals and truth, especially when we consider the risk muslims take when they venture out into the light of reason.

Thanks to this ex-muslim and any more like him. One last quote of his:

“…this only makes sense if god is either psychotic or just doesn’t exist. And I choose to believe in the latter for both my own peace of mind and because there is absolutely no evidence for the existence of such a deity.”

Spoken like a true man of reason.

If all Muslims in all 56 countries (and those millions who happen to be in various parts of the West) all became Christians, we would no longer have the horrendous problem of Islam that is increasingly endangering the whole world and costing us billions, even trillions, in added security measures.

All you do with your posts is demonstrate that you are an extremely ignorant individual, when it comes to all religions, especially your own extremely violent religion of Atheism. Atheistic governments murdered as many people in a single century, as muslims did in 5 centuries…. The current ‘rock star’ atheists are so pathetic, they don’t realize that they have entered the debate, using talking points and arguments that were left in the dust, over a century ago……..

All you do with your posts is demonstrate that you are an extremely ignorant individual, when it comes to all religions…

Holy cow, you must be very insecure about your own faith if my minuscule reference is all it took to offend you. Most religions can’t stand the light of reason and that’s why the faithful are so sensitive to criticism. I suggest that’s the case here. Religion can and does brainwash people to believe irrational and absurd ideas, this is a truism. And that’s why every major religion has at some time in their history dealt with opposing views with murder and torture, bigotry and hate. Irrational beliefs can only be defended with ad hominem and murder. If it wasn’t for religion the world would probably be living a godly life and be a lot more peaceful. All that these unreasoned belief systems do is confuse our search. If god is a god of truth then we won’t find “her” in unreasoned fairy tales. And if god is not a god of truth then maybe it’s not worth seeking. Either way humanity is wasting their time with religion’s symbolic stupidity, the enmity and murder they cause can not justify the little good they provide, not in my “ignorant” mind. And p.s., atheism isn’t a religion. Just so you know.

I don’t debate religion in JW, and my tangential reference to other religions does not deserve a debate anyway. If you can’t admit the brainwashing power of religion then that’s no fault of my own. Yeah, I’m ignorant. But at least I’m smart enough to see the obvious truth and big enough to admit it.

And one last parting shot. If you are religious I see nothing in your comment that shows anything above the usual petty anger and childish hurt feelings that such people are known for. Just once I’d like to be surprised and have a religious person put me in my place with a response that shows they have something to admire and respect. It’s never happened and I doubt it ever will.

I’m done with this, so don’t bother responding unless you want the last word.

          Jerry,

I agree that many Muslims who leave Islam become atheists, as I suppose they lose all faith in a God after realizing Islam is false. As a Christian, I would prefer they come to faith in Jesus Christ. I believe Jesus Christ is the only way to the Father as He says and he backed his statements with many eye witnessed miracles (Gospels) to prove he had control over nature and death. Atheism is better than Islam since there is no demand to kill non atheists but faith in Christ gives the apostate Muslim eternal life.

As this fellow illustrates, Muslims leaving Islam through their own study are more likely to become agnostics, secularists, or athiests than to convert to another religion because, in the process of leaving, they have reduced their dependency upon groupthink and acceptance. For them, religion is no longer the center of their social experience.

Most Muslims would be afraid to inspect the roots of the religion because of the sense of belonging is not only countered with the loneliness of rejection, they even face death at the hands of former “friends” and relatives. It’s more like trying to leave the mafia than simple apostacy.

I think millions of Muslims in Europe are embarassed by the violent activities of radicals, ISIS, etc and are not attending the Mosque. They are caught in a social/religious trap that won’t let them out of being Muslim without being persecuted.

My hat’s off to Omar Makram for such rare courage.

“…muslims leaving Islam through their own study are more likely to become agnostics, secularists, or athiests than to convert to another religion ..”

That may be true. Any one that manages to free their self from islam’s dark cave of intellectual and moral darkness is not likely to find comfort in a superstitious darkness of another kind. Slaves don’t fight for lesser slavery, they want total freedom. And anyone who reaches the point where they want intellectual and spiritual freedom will probably be thinking the same way. People that can achieve this freedom after decades of religious slavery can teach other slaves how to be free. If we get enough of these folks out there they can really make a difference.

      ………………………….

Actually, quite a few Muslims leave Islam for Christianity. It does not have to do with “groupthink”.

But I am happy if Muslims leave their vicious creed, for any other religion or none. They are apt to *much* more civilized human beings.

      More:

I think millions of Muslims in Europe are embarassed by the violent activities of radicals, ISIS, etc
      ………………………….

I wish I could see more signs of it, Westman. All too many Muslims in Europe seem intent on practicing their violent creed there:

And gravenimage could add literally thousands of posts from Jihad Watch over the years that would lead anyone with sense to lean in the horrible direction away from Westman’s rosy view of millions of Muslims. And those thousands of articles wouldn’t be including hundreds more from the Gates of Vienna blog (whose focus is more on Europe, UK and Russia and includes innumerable stories that don’t make it to JW).

When we get a glimpse of those mountains of horrific, dismaying data about Muslims, and then we really start digesting it, it becomes clear that this tendency which one finds pop up in the Counter-Jihad — this tendency to veer, or lurch, or spasm in a rosy direction about Muslims — isn’t arising from a mental process, but rather an emotional process. Over the years, I’ve tried to understand it (for it’s not just an academic exercise, but quite literally involves the life-and-death Problem of the Problem of Islam) through applying my analytical skills and empathy (for all Westerners have deep inside them residues of PC MC, they have become part of our cultural and therefore psychological apparatus, and the first step out of PC MC’s cat’s cradle inside us is, as with Alcoholics Anonymous, to become aware you have a problem; but I digress…). For brevity’s sake now, I’d say it’s basically an emotional amalgam (fancy word for incoherent mush) of horror at the full catastrophe Islam represents through its embodiers, Muslims (a horror which includes a slowly growing realization that all Muslims are fanatical extremists), combined with a fear of one’s own White Western self succumbing to “bigotry”. This creates an internal conflict that paradoxically only gets more intense and aggravating the more one learns to one’s horror how bad Islam is — and this intensity and aggravation produces an escalating tension which anxiously tries to find relief by figuring out ways to exempt or save vast swaths of Muslims from our “bigotry”. And, perhaps deeper down if we peel back the layers of this emotional welter, we find that the concern is not really about the Muslims, but about one’s self — a desperate need to save one’s self from where Muslims are threatening to drag it: down into the Heart of Darkness of Colonel Kurtz. Hesperado’s prescription to get back up to the light is to remember our primary priority: to defend our own — our children, women and men. Then grow up and remember that all valiant efforts at defending good people and good societies tragically involve collateral damage of various kinds.

You literally tried to shame people via email to get them to come here and take potshots at other JW users, including me. Then you placed some videos on Youtube where you tried to publicly shame those same users.

As an atheist he seems blissfully unaware that he is engaging in a belief system. Where is his proof that there is no God?

Interesting that he writes off all the Old Testament prophets as crazy and violent along with Mohamed, but there was no mention of the new dispensation since the inception of modern Christianity.

A rather spurious argument against a belief in any deity is to claim that they wouldn’t let bad things happen. That’s the essence of certain belief systems. You have a choice. Otherwise you would not be responsible for your actions.

The more of these people the better. I feel that the secularist and atheist need to wake up. Atheists/agnostics are about 10% of the North American population on average (Canada/US). Secularists I believe are agreater %.
These are the people that need awakening because they often fall in the cultural equivalence mind set. In many ways they propagate this Idea because they haven’t read any of the monotheistic scriptures. They have no idea what any of these religions say. Their thinking is. The lack of material evidence for any god is not the reason why Muslims are endangering our societies; nor is it the reason why Christians, Jews, Hindus, Buddhists, Zoroastrians, etc. are not endangering our societies. This reflexive carping about theism in general by atheists who have begun to wake up to the horror of Islam therefore is an annoying red herring, when it’s not positively counter-productive for the Counter-Jihad.

June 10, 2016: Training Seminar for Counter-Jihad Atheists — held at the Anti-Islam Institute in Philadelphia

Session 1 (9 a.m. in the Oriana Fallaci Hall): “Learning How to Discriminate among Religions”

(Description: Patiently teaching the atheist how to distinguish between the only religion on the motherfucking planet that is violently expanding in our time and in a million ways is engaging in horrific human rights violations and atrocities around the motherfucking globe, when its seemingly peaceful co-religionists are not routinely lying about all this in order to advance a stealth jihad calculated to facilitate the violent jihad they hope will eventually destroy us.)

Seminar II (at 11:30 a.m.) is highly recommended for the atheist: Learning to Appreciate How Much of a Blessing Non-Islamic Religions Are for the Modern World, When We Contrast the Good They Do with the Motherfuckingly Horrific Evil Shit Islam Does All Over the Motherfucking Planet for Fuck Sake.

(Note: After Seminar II, the Conference will break to give the atheists a lunch of mashed potatoes and mashed up peas & carrots, then some time to play with blocks and crayons in the childcare center, followed by a nappy-poo.)

The terrorism within the Koran is the single most important problem in Islam, but I thank Miriamrove above who mentioned the concern about foot hygiene.

I’ve wondered about putting one’s face on a rug where truly smelly feat had recently been for an hour or two. It would be a deal-breaker for many people.

I read another ex-Muslim who left Islam because he considered his own Arabic proficiency much better than Allah’s. He asked himself why Allah was unable to master good Arabic and why Allah wrote so many ayas that were ungrammatical, stylistically poor gobbledegook. Most important Arab writers/ poets were unbelievers of Islam. This list is from the top of my head:
Al Mutanabbi (Name means: claimed to be a prophet )
Al Ma’ari , Was openly critical of Islam
      Ibn Nawas, ( enjoyed alcohol)
( the above three from the Abassid era, the following were described atheists by muslims and were threatened)
Dr. Taha Hussain ( the Dean of the Arabic language), was critical of Quran and islamic history.
Naguib Mahfuz, Novelist and Nobel prize winner.
Nizar Qabbani, Most prominent poet in the second half of 20 century.

“Comments from ex-Muslims will help immeasurably to awaken Western people as well as Muslims to observe the problems within Islam. ”

Sure, as long as the ex-Muslim is not insinuating (whether slyly or due to involuntary reflexes to protect Islam in a “You-can-take-cowboy-out-of-the-country-but-you-can’t-take-the-country-out-of-the-cowboy” sort of way) memes that imply the notion that “most Muslims are decent moms and pops like the rest of us” — thus reinforcing our anxious tendency to avoid “being bigoted” against all Muslims.
