Exposing the role that Islamic jihad theology and ideology play in the modern global conflicts

Archbishop of Cologne: Worried about Islamic terror? Remember that Christianity cost people’s lives in the past

May 27, 2016 11:29 am By Robert Spencer

Ahmad al-Mohammed and one other of the jihadis who murdered 130 people in Paris in November 2015 had just entered Europe as refugees.

In February 2015, the Islamic State boasted it would soon flood Europe with as many as 500,000 refugees. And the Lebanese Education Minister said in September 2015 that there were 20,000 jihadis among the refugees in camps in his country. Meanwhile, 80% of migrants who have come to Europe claiming to be fleeing the war in Syria aren’t really from Syria at all.

So why are they claiming to be Syrian and streaming into Europe, and now the U.S. as well? An Islamic State operative gave the answer when he boasted in September 2015, shortly after the migrant influx began, that among the flood of refugees, 4,000 Islamic State jihadis had already entered Europe. He explained their purpose: “It’s our dream that there should be a caliphate not only in Syria but in all the world, and we will have it soon, inshallah.” These Muslims were going to Europe in the service of that caliphate: “They are going like refugees,” he said, but they were going with the plan of sowing blood and mayhem on European streets. As he told this to journalists, he smiled and said, “Just wait.”

On May 10, 2016, Patrick Calvar, the head of France’s DGSI internal intelligence agency, said that the Islamic State was using migrant routes through the Balkans to get jihadis into Europe.

But remember: “To see those in need and help them is the task the Lord has given to us as Christians. Their cry for justice, for dignity and peace are also God’s cry.” And those who are being bombed, beheaded and raped by the migrants need only remember that “Christianity had also cost people’s lives in the past.” That will make them feel so much better.

Cardinal Woelki

“The stunning way a Catholic cardinal marked the deaths of refugees in the Mediterranean,” by Rick Noack, Washington Post, May 26, 2016:

Cardinal Rainer Maria Woelki celebrated the Corpus Christi Mass from a seven-meter-long refugee boat on May 26 in front of the cathedral in Cologne, Germany, in memory of thousands of migrants who lost their lives in the Mediterranean sea. (Rolf Vennenbernd/AFP via Getty Images)

“Someone who lets people drown in the Mediterranean also drowns God — every day, thousands of times.”

The archbishop of the city of Cologne, Cardinal Rainer Maria Woelki, found these striking words on Thursday to condemn Europe’s increasingly tough attitude toward refugees. He spoke during a special church service, which took place in one of the German city’s main squares.

Woelki also used a seven-meter-long former refugee boat as his altar for the service to celebrate the Feast of Corpus Christi. The boat had previously been recovered by the Maltese military during a search-and-rescue operation.

The cardinal emphasized the significance of choosing the boat, saying that altars had always symbolized Jesus Christ. “To see those in need and help them is the task the Lord has given to us as Christians,” said Woelki.

“Their cry for justice, for dignity and peace are also God’s cry,” the archbishop commented, according to a translation by Austria’s Catholic Press Agency.

Self-critically, Woelki went on to suggest that those saying Islam was being abused as a religion should remember that Christianity had also cost people’s lives in the past….

Christianity has never taken a life. Catholic clergy on the other hand has in the past taken life: numerous ‘heretics’ burned at the stake, along with Bible translators and others, because the clergy had departed from Christian doctrine. Neither Christ nor his apostles shed one drop of blood. This Cardinal is a step away from becoming an apologist for Islam, which IS a religion with blood on its hands.

As a Catholic clergyman I disagreed with this cardinal who is selling Christianity and betrayed the Gospel message. Jesus said clearly that we have to choose, Him or the world.
This cardinal is excusing islam for many atrocities done along many centuries against us.
What had become of the One Holy Catholic Church? Its lamentable!
These are the real Judah of the Catholic Faith. These liberals hierarchs are the ‘smoke of Satan’ who found cracks in the Church’s walls to destroy from within.

Christ never made it absolute that Christians chose Him or the world. He said quite clearly that we should render unto ceaser what is ceaser’s, and to God what is God’s. For some reason, this attitude which was taught me in the 1970a, seems to be unknown amongst Christians of this generation.

This cardinal is excusing islam for many atrocities done along many centuries against us.

The Cardinal is arguing to make the Catholic Church irrelevant. Islam, if left unchecked, will absorb all around it. Their message of conversion by conquest works every time, where there is no resistance. Islam and Civilization are existentially incompatible. Europe is not resisting. Until and unless it resists, it is doomed. Actually, until and unless it resists, it has no right to exist.

Why is it the Pope and so many high officials in the RC church sound like liberal twits? Really, if they think so little of their own religion, why don’t they resign or convert to Islam?

I fear they already have converted to Islam, in their hearts at least.
They are trying to bring the rest of us in or let the Muslims kill us.
There is no way they are so blind that they cannot see what Islam is all about and how it’s changing our countries.
They are actively supporting it by keeping us from rebelling.

          This Man says—

“Remember that Christianity cost people’s lives in the past”

Sure will in the future, if it does not rally the troops right now!

It is precisely that Christianity did hold a more honored position once, that Islam was
virtually un-heard-of among-us until just recently.

If the Muslims see a resurgence in Christianity they will also see a shrinkage in special
          people status.

How much will it take to “wake up” the basically peace-loving peoples in Britain, Canada, America, Australia, New Zealand, Germany, Switzerland, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, France, Spain, Italy, Austria, Hungary, Poland, Czech Republic, Estonia,
Bulgaria, Yugoslavia, Romania, Greece, Portugal, and many more—What will it take?

What can result with these great people being provoked beyond what they can bear.

How could anyone imagine this could be taken lightly.

      To Phil,

Of course “Christianity” has never taken a life. Christianity is a faith; faiths don’t take lives — their adherents do.

As far as this goes, your anti-Catholicism is blinding you. There were Protestant inquisitions just as there were Catholic ones, although, unbeknownst to most, inquisitions could actually be good. Protestants also burned many witches at the stake.

My point here isn’t to condemn Protestants; far from it. In fact, any comparison between Christian and Islamic violence is ridiculous. The point is that it’s wrong, destructive and self-defeating to combat these pro-Islamic lies with anti-Catholic lies. You refute them with the truth.

You should also know that the Catholic inquisitions didn’t “burn” anyone at the stake. Heresy WASN’T a capital crime under Church law. It was a capital crime under SECULAR law. It was the secular authorities (nobility at the time) that executed heretics — and they started this LONG before there ever was any inquisition.

        May 28, 2016 at 10:18 pm

These are the blind guides meant to destroy our Church.
This cardinal should be forced to resign and retired in some Vatican’s luxuries apartments. The last real Pope was Pope Benedict XVI. He said what Islam is in Regensburg. Just read his speech from 2006. His retirement was just a ecclesiastical coup.

          That’s what I think anyway.

It seem to me to be a perfectly reasonable question. I certainly wouldn’t describe it as getting ”wigged out over nothing.”

*My* answer, duh swami, would be that Christ in the Bible says to Peter, ”I will build my church on you.” The Catholic Church then took over for itself the mantle of Peter, hence the designation of ‘Holy’ , from the injunction of Christ.

Then of course, it took on for itself a host of rules and regulations never mentioned by Christ. (my Presbyterian upbringing showing ! 🙂 )

Peggy the term Saint is misused by many—a Saint is a true Christian that is it,
the only one, anyone can pray to, is their Heavenly Father—through Jesus Christ,
when we pray in the name of Jesus Christ, we are acknowledging his absolute
authority (His Name)—He is our High Priest who has lived in the flesh as we
are now , He knows what it is like to be Human—yet he is very much God now–

I have doubts about some Catholic dogma as well but I see no point in nitpicking over the Catholic sainthood. Cardinal Woelki white-washing Islam is the real issue here since this is not Catholic Watch but Jihad Watch. I suspect that most this pettiness is by those who are resentful and jealous because they don’t have their very own pope-like leader. Considering Pope Francis they should not feel jealous at all.

As far as Mirren 10’s reply that is a straw-man argument.

What that PC-minded Archbishop said was ignorant For the history of professed “Christians” engaging on violence and killing is a different story then the violence and killing the Koran inspires. The example ,the Crusades and the Inquisition was not, at all, inspired by the Bible but by the popes and the popes, in this, were wrong. That’s one reason that I’m Protestant .I don’t believe in the pretend authority of the pope but only in the real authority of the Bible. In contrast to the Koran, the Bible which never ,ever, instructs Christians to engage in violence and killing for Jesus. The Koran does instruct in killing and violence for Islam. 4::89. 5:33. 9: 5,111,123. 47:4. So that Archbishop was by what he said was only exposing his own ignorance.

Islam teaches spreading its ‘good news’ by violent conquest, crime, treachery and deceit, and seeking total political control. Christianity does the exact opposite. If the any of the churches have gone political and resorted to the Ways of the World in any way at all, it has been clearly AGAINST Christ’s teaching. If Islam does so, it is clearly prescribed in its ‘holy’ writings. As a strictly personal morailty and belief system, Christianity conforms to the Western model of a ‘religion whereas Islam, with its prescriptive total control of its believers’ behaviour, attitudes and daily habits, and codes for politica, legal and social control ticks all the boxes of a ‘cult’ at best, or (more accurately) a totalitarian political system with a sham pseudo-religious facade.

What this cardinal is missing, among other things, is the distinction between “in spite of” and “because of.” When Christians acted badly in the past in the name of their faith (and, let’s face it, extremely few Christians anymore do so), this occurred in spite of, not because of, Christian doctrine. By contrast, when Muslims act badly in the name of their faith, as they do to this very day and in very large numbers—–just since 9/11 there have been over 28,000 documented Islamic terrorist attacks worldwide—–they are invariably doing so because of Islamic doctrine, for instance the call to make war upon the unbeliever “until all religion is with Allah” {Sura 8:39} or to make Christians and Jews “feel subdued and pay the jizya” {Sura 9:29}, thus establishing a Jim Crow system based not on race but on belief (N.B., Islam is not only an inveterate enemy of freedom but also of equality under the law; one knows this by now or should know this).

Huge difference here between Christianity and Islam. Would be hard pressed to demonstrate a bigger difference. Stunning that a cardinal of the Roman Catholic faith can’t see this. Profound shame on this man since the consequences of his willful ignorance points to all kinds of dire results.

If this is a Roman catholic Cardinal deserving his title, I am ready to eat my hat. What the devil has Christianity in common with such a blody ideology like Islam? How dare a Chritian priest compare his religion – he is called to serve – to a non-religion, when among Muslims it is a wide-spread way of saying that the only good Christian is a dead one?
    Shame on you, Cardinal Woelki.

This cardinal will no doubt be thrilled to hear that two weeks ago hundreds of Muslims in southern Egypt stripped a 70 year old woman naked after rumors that her son had an affair with a Muslim woman. The woman’s cries and screams fell on deaf Muslim ears, which comes as absolutely no surprise when dealing with the ‘religion of peace’.

The Muslims braves set fire to and looted several houses and terrorized the community for good measure. This is the kind of people the cardinal wants Europe to welcome. If this bastard has even an ounce of self respect, he should go to a Muslim country, Pakistan perhaps, in his religious garb and take stroll in the streets. It will help this dumb, privilidged piece of shit understand exactly what we are dealing with here.

    • Singh the Sikh says

      May 27, 2016 at 10:21 pm

…I forgot to mention the woman and her son were Christians. Mohammed saw Christianity and Judaism as grave threats to Islam since Islam was plagiarized from the two religions. To any right thinking person Islam is a cheap and poor imitation of Christianity and Judaism. These two religions expose islam as a lie and reval all it’s contradictions and pretences. It lays bare the white-faced Muslim lie that is Islam. That’s why Muslims show such pure hatred for the two religions and want to eliminate it at any and every opportunity.

How on earth did this Idiot or crook or both become an archbishop? This only shows how much the “established” churches have become bankrupt morally. There is hardly an iota of truth in whatever nonsense he is uttering. In fact all his claims are falsehood. Crusades were conceived and thrust by Islamic tribes on non Muslims. Europeans imitated the savagery of Muslims to a much lesser effect and failed. There were killings in the Christian world that can be termed very negligible

Christ NEVER intended the faith to be a state religion. Matthew 7:13,14…”Enter through the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the way is broad that leads to destruction, and there are many who enter through it.14 For the gate is small and the way is narrow that leads to life, and there are few who find it.

    Luke 13
24 “Strive to enter through the narrow door; for many, I tell you, will seek to enter and will not be able.

It was Constantinople and other popes who did the opposite of What Jesus said and did.

This man can help all and sundry but must he NOT run for his life when evil spirit enters the radical Islamist? In fact Jesus had commanded the Christians to run to safety in the war of 68 AD. All who obeyed Jesus’ prophesy/ instruction saved themselves.

I’m Catholic, but this Cardinal is someone I cannot agree with. Too often, I find myself completely disagreeing with those, like this Cardinal, who are supposedly our “shepherds.”

Has the Cardinal forgotten the centuries long aggression by Muslims against Christians? Has he overlooked the fact that places like North Africa, Egypt, Syria, Lebanon, Iraq and Turkey were once Christian? Has he ever wondered why that is not the case now? The answer is simple: Muslim conquest.

Has the Cardinal overlooked the many statements by Islamic clergy and other leaders that the goal is to conquer Europe? Is the Cardinal unaware that Mohammed said the goal was to conquer Byzantium and then Rome? Byzantium fell in 1453 and what was once the leading city of the Christian world is now Islamic. What was one once the world’s largest Christian cathedral (St. Sophia) is now a mosque.

Mohammed said Rome is the next target.

Has the Cardinal forgotten what happened outside his own Cathedral last New Year’s Eve?

Has the Cardinal never read the Koran, with its numerous exhortations of jihad against non-Muslims?

I’m Catholic, but I’m becoming very disillusioned with many of our leaders.

Peggy the term Saint is misused by many—a Saint is a true Christian that is it,
    —————————————-
Don’t misunderstand. I am not trying to argue here but if that is true why are so many encouraged to pray to saints. There are saints for all different purposes. One is there to watch over travellers etc.
So these people who have died have been elevated to some divine figure but not by Jesus or God but by another person.
It still makes no sense to me how a human, no matter which position he/she holds here in life can have authroity to elevate another person to such a high standing in heaven. Isn’t it up to God and Jesus to judge who is worthy and who is not?
God and Jesus are the only beings I worship and I acknowledge the Apostoles as divine because Jesus chose them. Anyone chosen by another person cannot hold any high place because they are chosen by another human who cannot possibly know how God’s going to judge.

A got a bit off track here. Bottom line, churches are filled with images of other humans who we are encouraged to pray to. Are the preists getting it wrong? They don’t tell us not to pray to St this or that.

    • Neville J. Angove says

      May 31, 2016 at 12:12 am

Regarding Saints: I think it might be a holdover from the cultural need to have a specific “god” or a vague deference to the pagan religions Christianity replaced. I still think praying to them or having “graven images” of them is in violation pf the first two Commandments.

Regarding the statement that jihadis are infiltrating the West via refugees: I have no doubt that some have infiltrated, and many more have the potential. I also think that most of the freeloaders from the Sudan, generally via Egypt and Tunisia, are probably not, just people thinking the West is the deliverance some kind of cargo cult promise. But the claims that many more jihadis have infiltrated could be either wishful thinking or propaganda.

Peggy this is the first & Second Commandments

Exodus 20: New King James Version

      God spoke these words, saying:

2 “I am the Lord your God,

3 “You shall have no other gods before Me.

      4 “You shall not make for yourself a carved image—or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth;

5 you shall not bow down to them nor serve them.

      • Peggy says

        May 31, 2016 at 8:47 am

That’s looks very clear cut so why then do you think churches are not discouraging their followers from praying to all these saints? Mary especially is favoured for praying to.
Are we all led astray by our own priests?
        It is obviously forbidden.
Looks like Christianity lost it’s way very early on.
First we included pagan ways in order to absorb the pagans. Now we seem to bow to Islam and accept evil.

          May 31, 2016 at 11:18 am

          Peggy

Part of the answer is the fact that extremely few professing Christians really study their Bibles! So they do not “prove” virtually anything they believe by carefully researching it in the Bible! Yet the Bible says: “Prove all things, hold fast that which is good” (1 Thessalonians 5:21).

The key issue, then, is our desire and willingness to get back to the true Christian faith, “the faith which was once for all delivered to the saints” (Jude 3). Are you willing to genuinely try to follow the Christianity of Christ?

Putting our personal feelings and preconceived ideas aside, how can we really “get to know” God?

          Try this:

          READ: Mathew…Mark…Luke…John…Acts…James…1 Peter…2 Peter…1 John…2 John…3 John…Jude…in that order…all of them…straight through.

(That is the way they were first placed)

Read them before You go on to read Paul’s writings, then Revelation.

If you take this approach the rest of the Bible should be better reading.

Feel free to ask me anything You like, I will reply if you do.

          Happy reading Peggy
