EBay submits to Sharia blasphemy restrictions, and validates the assassin’s veto by bowing to it — thereby assuring that we will be bullied much, much more, until we submit entirely to Islam.
“Bosch Fawstin’s winning Muhammad cartoon removed by eBay on ‘technicality,’” by Jessica Chasmar, The Washington Times, May 4, 2016:
The artist who won the “draw Mohammed” cartoon contest attacked by terrorists last May in Garland, Texas, said his drawing was removed from eBay Wednesday on a “technicality.”
Bosch Fawstin, a former Muslim, won $12,500 in prize money at the May 3, 2015, event, sponsored by Pamela Geller’s American Freedom Defense Initiative (AFDI), for a drawing that showed a sword-wielding prophet in a turban shouting, “You can’t draw me.” In reply, a cartoon bubble portrayed the artist as writing, “That’s why I draw you.”
Two terrorists opened fire on officers outside the event before they were fatally shot by police.
Mr. Fawstin opened bidding on his drawing Sunday, saying, “Own a piece of history. Own the Cartoon at the Center of a Terrorist Attack,” Breitbart News reported.
On Wednesday, the auction had been removed.
“ATTENTION: MY EBAY LISTING’S BEEN REMOVED,” Mr. Fawstin wrote on Twitter. “Those who bid $ on my winning Mohammad cartoon, I’ll try to re-list ASAP.”
“They cite ‘technicality’ 4 days in, After highest bid got to $10,000+. Will try Re-list,” he added.
“eBay Removed my winning Mohammad cartoon listing, citing a ‘technicality’. They’ve confirmed it’s Fishy, effectively blocked its re-listing,” he wrote. “As per my last tweet, if anyone has suggestion 4 alternative way to auction my Mohammad cartoon, let me know. May host my own silent auction.”

Linde Barrera says
I hope Bosch Fawstin prevails, sells his cartoon on his own terms, and never has to deal with the wussies and idiots at e-Bay anymore. God bless you Mr. Fawstin.

Cowardly bastards. Fools. They think it will end with this. They think if they just give in to this particular set of demands, the problem will be solved and all will be well. They have no idea what we are up against. And every time someone knuckles under, the islamic thugs become that much more emboldened and that much more certain that their cause is justified. And so, it will never end unless we stand up and end it. Someone, somewhere is going to have to be brave enough, and willing to take the risk, and just say NO.

If I was him I would sell it for as much money as possible..
Then I would pay streetartists to go out in Oslo, Trondheim, Stavanger and other large cities in Norway…and smear the drawing up on as many walls as I could afford…
That would have been fantastic! I would buy a big pizza and a sixpack before the news. And see all the politicians including the big fat Trine Skei Grande (Le Grande) talk about it…and all the muslims riot in the streets…

I can understand that eBay (or any other similar website) implement policies that lets them remove sales/auctions for whatever reason, but what was so fishy about this particular item?

I boycott all businesses that support Labour in the UK and those who support staying in the EU dictatorship. For example, I do not shop at Sainsbury’s , nor do I buy Richard Branson’s Virgin products.
Now ebay is on my boycott list for its cowardice.
I wish someone could produce a list of all business or services that have backed down to islamic pressure in some way. We need to fight back by all available means.
If I had my way, Britain would have nothing to do with Saudi Arabia, sell nothing to it, buy nothing from it, repel any attempt to send their representatives here, and positively outlaw any wahabi hatemongers who come to stir up trouble.
Bosch Fawstin says
I just wrote this on Facebook: I’m a first time eBay seller who is Supposed to have seller dollar limits. But eBay Mistakenly allowed me to sell my Mohammad cartoon for as Much as I wanted to (the last current bid was $10,000), and they ended up removing it on a “technicality”. It’s not My job to police their policies, it’s theirs. I spent an hour talking to three eBay representatives to tell them that since it’s Their fault, and since they admit it, that they should allow me to re-list it as was. No matter what I said, no matter how, they refused, even though they admitted that they were wrong in not detecting their error. When I mentioned that over 100 eBay customers were “watching” the sale and that there were 37 bids for it, meaning, that there was serious momentum going on in the sale, they still refused to re-list it, sticking to their “policy’, which They broke.
Angemon says
Thank you for sharing the additional info, Mr. Fawstin.
Don McKellar says
Well then why don’t you just entrust it to another person who is not a first time eBay seller and has a long history to list it for you? Don’t tell eBay a damn thing and then it goes up and goes for sale and there is nothing they can do about it. Simply have the seller put your approval in the listing and refer any questions to your ebay account messages and have the Paypal address the buyer pays to be yours (the seller temporarily changes his listed Paypal address to yours on his ebay account until the sale is over. It wouldn’t be at all hard to set up. I say try again with that “technicality” nullified.
Don McKellar says
I also noted on your listing that you had some kind of thing about completing the transaction (or part of the transaction) off ebay and paypal. That’s also going to get you shut down on a technicality potentially. If you’re going to list it on ebay, the entire transaction must be through ebay — so they get their cut on fees. You’ve got to keep everything right out in the open with ebay not being able to call foul in any way.
Sam Hawkins says
I can think of two things that could go wrong.
(1) Bosch would have to place a lot of trust in this third party to take receipt of the sales proceeds and then turn the money over to him. Most people are honest, but you cannot be sure.
(2) The third party might then be on the hook for taxes. How to indemnify them?

Thanks for the additional information, Bosch.

Well, I emailed them and told them I was saddened that they have succumbed to Shari’a and that Inwould not be using eBay any more.
Good luck to you!

The character in the drawing saying “You can’t draw me!” isn’t even claiming to be Mohammad or even a representation of same. To all those getting upset about this image, I say GROW UP!
Carolyne says
I agree with that and I also think that the character depicted could not even be Mohammed. The person is handsome. neat, clean, with a neat beard and resembles a human. He could be “The Red Shadow” from “The Desert Song.” Who would think he was a desert rat?
Victor Redlick says
Maybe that why it’s called eBay and not aBay; because they knew they were a failure before anyone else (did).
Mike at the Beach says
I just completed the closing of my occasionally-used eBay account; never to be reopened. I hope thousands more do the same.
Cecilia Ellis says
Bosch, if you have to have a first-time seller limit, then post an innocuous cartoon that eBay will accept. Then, when seller limits are no longer assigned to you, post your winning Muhammad cartoon. I don’t know if it works that way, but perhaps eBay representatives could let you know. (Maybe you could try a silent auction at Rutgers Art Library . . . They had no problem with Jesus on a dart board . . . [sarcasm]). Like others here, specifically because of the treatment you have received from eBay, I will not again consider eBay. You deserve so much more than $10K . . . for your talent and for your bravery. I am saddened and disgusted that this has happened to you. Don’t give up!
dsinc says
Ebay is rotten. Whilst in Birmingham trying to sell my late ex’s mobility equipment before returning to South Africa, ebay, to my astonishment, banned me and refused to explain why. I immediately closed my paypal account and will never use ebay or paypal again. Anyone mentions ebay to me I tell them my story.
linnte says
I have been thinking about this all day. Surely this goes along with Facebook’s decision to ban “islamophobic” posts. Well, let these two internet moguls suffer the consequences of their actions, because we know Islam will not stop there! Soon, the Islamic community will request eBay remove other items they find “hurtful” like paintings of Jesus or other religious things. Then maybe photos of sexy skimpy clad women. It will happen, then eBays business will begin to suffer. Facebook too.

…………………………
Not only should we face no restrictions in what we choose to depict, Holo, but I’m afraid you are *much* mistaken if you believe that drawing Mohamed without a face will protect cartoonists.
Molly Norris drew a silly cartoon with images of coffee cups and spools of thread titled “Will the Real Likeness of Prophet Muhammed Please Stand Up”–no Muslim could *possibly* consider such to have been a representation of the “Prophet”:
http://cdn.inquisitr.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/Everybody-Draw-Mohammed-Day-Is-Back.jpg
But she had to go into hiding and change her identity due to death threats from Muslims.
And this was in protest of death threats being made to the creators of South Park, who did a cartoon featuring a guy in a bear suit who may or may not have been intended to be the “Prophet”. You never see him at all–just the cartoon bear.
None of this prevented Muslims from threatening the cartoonists.
So no–drawing the vile Mohamed without a face will not protect cartoonists.

What an uninformative report

is!
It fails to answer the obvious questions a reader would have, and it assumes that everyone knows what eBay is and how it works. I think I know what an auction is, but what is a “silent” auction? How do deaf-mutes conduct an auction? If the auction is done by online communication, how can it not be silent? An auction is a kind of event, which can be canceled but not “removed” (as a listing on a website can be removed). But most importantly, what is the “technicality” under which the seller’s listing has been removed? The artist explains this in a comment above (thank you, Bosch Fawstin), thereby doing the job that should have been done by the Washington Post reporter Jessica Chasmar. (But let’s acknowledge the possibility that an editor or excerpter removed the relevant information from Chasmar’s full report.)
Cynthia in California says
I can help with only one of your questions. In real, 3D life, a “silent” auction is conducted via written bids on a sheet of paper. The auction opens at a given time, and the last bid written down before the closing time wins (assuming that it’s the highest, of course).
The seller may or may not want to set a reserve (minimum) price, below which bids will not be accepted and the item will remain with the seller.
My quilt guild’s biennial show features a silent auction on each day, Saturday and Sunday. Each day’s auction begins at 10:00, when the show opens, and closes at 3:00 p.m., *before* the show closes for the day. The sale sheets are written with language that makes signing them a binding contract, so that no one bids frivolously and says, at 3:01 p.m., “Oh, I really didn’t mean it.” No; buyers have signed a binding contract, so they *must* pay the price they wrote down.
No auctioneer; no talking, except for casual conversation like, “Wow! Have you seen *this* one?” and the like.
Does this clarify “silent auctions”?

Bosch Fawstin’s winning Muhammad cartoon removed by eBay on ‘technicality’
……………………
What exactly is the “technicality”? Receiving incredibly high bids?
Of course they removed it either out of fear or an exaggerated “respect” for violent Muslims–one and the same thing, in most cases.
Despicable–and even more despicable that eBay is too weasely to name the reason.
No wonder we are in so much trouble…

Consider auctioning the drawing on Gunbroker.com. They auction collectibles such as posters. It should get a rip roaring reception from those red blooded firearms enthusiasts.

Muslim “good deeds” are only done unto other muslims. Muslims have no love or compassion whatsoever for non-muslim people, the Koran makes this very clear. Therefore, any love or good will muslims may claim to possess is self-serving and empty.

I love sin #36! Ooh, we’re all gonna burn in hell for that one!
gravenimage says
Yes, Hope–notice how many of these “sins” are trivialities. Civilized people would consider this nothing worse than poor hygiene, and not a “sin” at all.
Meanwhile, of course, Muslims can engage in the most appalling atrocities–and they are perfectly Halal, so long as the victim is an Infidel, a woman, a small child, or other vulnerable target.

Can’t we all get along? ☪OE✡IS✞ !
LOL, our friend abbas puts paid to starry-eyed naivete.
Just like Mahound, he is brimming with hatred and aggression. Remember that scene in Independence Day, when the President asks the alien “What is it you want us to do?” and the alien replies with just one word:
Compared to the alien, abbas is more humane: he will let us live, provided we (1) convert to Islam or (2) pay the jizya and willingly submit to humiliation. Very generous. NOT.
Our insane leaders are importing thousands of abbas clones every single day. Crazed, barely literate (see above; his written Arabic is no better than his written English), brutalized at age 11 by being anally raped by 15- and 16-year olds (a rite of passage for Muslim males), lacking the “mirror neurons” required for empathy due to generations of cousin marriage, and fired up by the weekly hate sermon in the mosque every Friday night.
Coming to a neighborhood near you. Actually, scratch that. He is here already, your next-door neighbor. And more like him are on the way.
