On May 4 I noted that eBay, in a naked surrender to violent Sharia intimidation, removed the listing for Bosch Fawstin’s Muhammad cartoon that won our AFDI/Jihad Watch Muhammad Art Exhibit and Cartoon Contest.
EBay insisted that the removal was just over a “technicality” and has restored the listing, in a small victory for sanity and the freedom of speech amidst a cascade of capitulation in the West to Islamic supremacist thugs. The new listing is here. Four days left to place your bid!

I placed a comment, but I received the message that the server could not be reached. I guess another technicality problem.

Glad to see that eBay restored the listing! Thanks for providing a link…it will be exciting to watch!

Site works great for me! Current bid is at US $6,600.00, which does not meet the reserve.
Congratulations eBay.

I actually contacted ebay and “thanked” them for surrendering to and groveling on the ground before Islamic Jihad.
I bet more than a few of us let them know what we thought.

Good to hear 🙂

eBay needs to be commended for standing for freedom of expression. Someone at the top did the right thing.
Whoever you all are, thank you from one of your loyal customers!
Carry on, eBay, to greater success! We are a free society. We must work to keep it free.

Actually, ebay removed the original listing due to Bosch trying to sell outside of ebay, nothing to do with his political/ideological stance.
Bosch Fawstin says
“Actually”? No. I wasn’t trying to sell outside of ebay, I just wanted to arrange payment from the auction winner to save PayPal fees. There was never an attempt to sell outside of ebay. And they cited the previous as a “technicality” and then they cited the fact that, as a new ebay seller, I dwarfed my$ limit, as the other “technicality”. And the reason they restored, and fairly quickly, was because there Was no violation, only an excuse to push out an item that was too politically and ideologically explosive for them. But, nonetheless, I’m glad they restored it, and kudos to them for that.
Alistair cromley says
No. I read Don’s post then went to your ebay listing. You broke ebay’s policies. That’s why they delisted your item. This had nothing to do with politics.
I sell on ebay daily. Selling outside of ebay is a big no no. You’re lucky you weren’t blocked.

I also noted on your listing that you had some kind of thing about completing the transaction (or part of the transaction) off ebay and paypal. That’s also going to get you shut down on a technicality potentially. If you’re going to list it on ebay, the entire transaction must be through ebay — so they get their cut on fees. You’ve got to keep everything right out in the open with ebay not being able to call foul in any way.

Again, I was not selling outside of ebay, nor did I intend to. And that wasn’t the reason they gave for “delisting” me when I spent an hour on the phone with them. The reason they gave was that I went over my money limit as a first time ebay seller. And they admitted that my listing shouldn’t have been allowed to pass because of it. They apologized for not catching it before it went out, which ended my initial bid when the highest bid at that time was up to $10,000. So while you seem far more of a stickler to ebay’s rules, ebay itself made an exception for my case and restored my listing, which they wouldn’t have done if what you’re accusing me of was the case. And I sense you have more than a problem with my listing here, pal.

Nice Touch
I only now noticed:
The carpet kissing zebibah of an Islamic Crescent Moon on his forehead.

More than ever before, let the West beware of Islamic law & creeping censorship: in 1903, Turkey shut down Armenian free speech 12 years before the genocide.
It’s important to understand that Muslim authorities in Turkey were so sensitive to certain words that they passed a law stating that speaking or writing any of them was tantamount to incitement, subversion. In other words, writing, posting, or speaking any of the censored words below was a very serious infringement indeed, as punishable as drawing a cartoon of Mohamed:
http://sentinel.christianscience.com/issues/1903/2/5-25/items-of-interest-
Finding it inconvenient, in the face of the sentiment of Christian Powers, to destroy the national spirit of the Armenians by force, the Turkish government undertakes to coerce it by putting Armenian school textbooks and press under strict censorship. Such words as the following have been interdicted: “Star”, because its Turkish translation means Yeldiz, which is the name of the Sultan’s palace; “astronomy”, because of its relation to the word “star”; the chemical symbol of water, “H2O”, because this might be construed into H (Hamid), 2 (second), and O (cipher),—that is, Hamid Second is nothing [in other words, someone might interpret the chemical symbol, H20, as an insult to the Caliph of the Ottoman Empire, Hamid the Second]; the word “Armenia”, so that the American missionaries who had founded a college in Armenia by the name of “Armenian College” were obliged to change its name into “Euphrates College;” and the words “liberty”, “freedom”, “home”, “nation”, “sacrifice”, “thistle”, “obstacle”, “stumbling”, “hope”, “faith”, “emancipation”, “Lincoln”, “struggle”, “right”, “tyranny”. No verses are to be published in the daily papers; the Boers are not to be sympathized with; Americans never praised; Germany never criticized, and Russia never mentioned.

Very interesting Elizabeth, but the link doesn’t work.

I hope that whoever ends up buying the cartoon then turns around and donates it to a major museum of cartoon art, with the understanding that it becomes part of the permanent public exhibition.

Thank you, eBay! You did the right thing.

I’d rather, and I have, given my hard earned money to help free people in situations similar to Rifqa Barry, and other muslims or non muslims in danger of death because of radical Islam, than give a cent to a drawing of a prophet of the very ideology we allegedly fight against. I think the former is a better use of resources in fighting for freedom
