In FrontPage I discuss Rainer Maria Woelki, Cardinal Archbishop of Cologne and yet another Catholic advocate for the suicide of Europe:
The Cardinal Archbishop of Cologne, Rainer Maria Woelki, is alarmed. Not by jihad terrorism in Paris and Brussels, or by the Muslim migrants who committed mass rapes and sexual assaults in his city last New Year’s Eve, but by the growing opposition to the Islamization of Europe. He had harsh words for Beatrix von Storch, the deputy leader of Germany’s new anti-Islamization party, Alternative for Germany (AfD), who said quite correctly that “Islam is in itself a political ideology that is not compatible with the constitution.” Woelki insisted on the contrary that “the religion of Islam is compatible with the German constitution just as Judaism or Christianity are.” He also said that “whoever says ‘yes’ to church towers must also say ‘yes’ to minarets.”
How wonderful and broad-minded and forward thinking. Woelki reflects the thinking of Pope Francis, and the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops, and all decent folk.
There’s just one problem: the Qur’an is specifically hostile to Christianity in a way that Christianity is not toward Islam. A sampling:
Christians have forgotten part of the divine revelations they received: “From those, too, who call themselves Christians, We did take a covenant, but they forgot a good part of the message that was sent them: so we estranged them, with enmity and hatred between the one and the other, to the day of judgment. And soon will Allah show them what it is they have done.” — Qur’an 5:14
Jesus is not the Son of God and the Trinity a false doctrine: “O People of the Scripture! Do not exaggerate in your religion nor utter aught concerning Allah save the truth. The Messiah, Jesus son of Mary, was only a messenger of Allah, and His word which He conveyed unto Mary, and a spirit from Him. So believe in Allah and His messengers, and say not “Three” – Cease! (it is) better for you! – Allah is only One Allah. Far is it removed from His Transcendent Majesty that He should have a son. His is all that is in the heavens and all that is in the earth. And Allah is sufficient as Defender.” — Qur’an 4:171
“It is not befitting to (the majesty of) Allah that He should beget a son. Glory be to Him! when He determines a matter, He only says to it, ‘Be,’ and it is.” — Qur’an 19:35
Those who believe that Jesus is God’s Son are under the curse of Allah: “The Jews call ‘Uzair [Ezra] a son of Allah, and the Christians call Christ the son of Allah. That is a saying from their mouth; (in this) they but imitate what the unbelievers of old used to say. Allah’s curse be on them: how they are deluded away from the Truth! ” — Qur’an 9:30
Jesus was not crucified: “And because of their saying: We slew the Messiah, Jesus son of Mary, Allah’s messenger – they slew him not nor crucified him, but it appeared so unto them; and lo! those who disagree concerning it are in doubt thereof; they have no knowledge thereof save pursuit of a conjecture; they slew him not for certain.” — Qur’an 4:157
Muslims must wage war against and subjugate Christians: “Fight those who believe not in Allah nor the Last Day, nor hold that forbidden which hath been forbidden by Allah and His Messenger, nor acknowledge the religion of Truth, (even if they are) of the People of the Book, until they pay the Jizya with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued” — Qur’an 9:29
What’s more, the statement that “Islam is in itself a political ideology that is not compatible with the constitution” is one that many Muslim leaders would proudly affirm. Woelki, and the Catholic hierarchy in general, are aiding and abetting the destruction of the free world.
Meanwhile, to say “Whoever says ‘yes’ to church towers must also say ‘yes’ to minarets” is just asinine. “Whoever says ‘yes’ to Merkel must also say ‘yes’ to Hitler.” “Whoever says ‘yes’ to peace must also say ‘yes’ to war.” “Whoever roots for the Yankees must also root for the Red Sox.” “Whoever roots for Manchester United must also root for Arsenal.” “Whoever roots for Real Madrid must also root for Barcelona.” “Whoever welcomes freedom must also welcome slavery.” “Whoever loves knowledge must also love ignorance.” “Whoever lives in Berlin must also live in Munich.”
One more: “Whoever says ‘yes’ to Muslims must also say ‘yes’ to Jews” — well, the illustrious Woelki probably wouldn’t go for that last one. Neither does the new Europe.

Wow, with leadership like this guy and the Pope, no wonder the churches are empty in Europe.
Christianblood says
Exactly! They are all traitors!
Sam says
Churches are empty in America also. We are not that different from Europe when it comes to fighting Islam.
We have more liberals in America who hate America and will be more inclined to side with Evil Islam than with us conservatives. This is a fact that I experience at work and in the network of other associates and even at church.

I think he fails to understand that eventually, where there are minarets, there are no churches.
He is as willfully blind to the Islamic invasion as Pope Francis, and just as dangerous for that reason. Be prepared for more of this. The Pope and his toadying Cardinals, Bishops and Priests are only going to make more inane outbursts and illogical statements as they begin to appreciate, with each passing day, that they are becoming more irrelevant, and even, sadly comical. They will scream and no one will listen. They become clownish parodies of the “Social Justice Warriors”.

Nearly Unbelievable.
Just as the “personality” as it were, of any unit changes with a new leader, such as the United States with a new President, so do terrible stances and statements such as this reflect on the Pope.
This 266th Pope, who purports to speak for all Christians, is a socialist at best.
He does NOT speak for me.

So it is plain ignorance ?

Woelki is a team player. He was previously arch-bishop in Berlin.
Remember that a “Reich Concordat” was signed between Hitler and the Vatican. This means that Woelki is effectively part of the German government structure.
gravenimage says
Absurd. There is no state religion in Germany. Moreover, less than 30% of Germans are Catholic. The idea that what this fool has to say is German state policy is mistaken at best.
Charli Main says
Instead of washing Muslim feet and kissing Muslim arses, these retards should be demanding that churches with bell towers be built in Mecca and Medina. All in the furtherance of inter faith dialogue, of course.
Come on Papa Francis !!!!! You seem to spend most of your time furthering the interests of islam around the World, so how about working to further the interests of Christianity in Saudi Arabia.
Angemon says
What he didn’t say was that whoever says yes to minarets must also say yes to churches and synagogues. I’d love to see him peddle that idea in Saudi Arabia, Iran, Pakistan, Afghanistan, etc.

Precisely our dilemma. What happens when logic is hated and sanctimony loved? Europe.

In my work career, I was a medium-level programmer: nothing special. But, I was required to keep up with the field, and observe a due diligence concerning the quality of my work and the output of the programs.
It is amazing to me that people at the level of Cardinal Archbishop of Cologne, Rainer Maria Woelk, achieve prominent positions, live in luxury, and associate at the highest levels of society…and they have absolutely no accountability for their ignorance and lack of logic.
The European Union and officials like this seem to have the objective of completely doing away with any sort of oversight, accountability, or even criticism. What he says is so preposterous, stupid, and inaccurate that it is difficult to believe that he comes into contact with any point of view contrary to his own.
Georg says
Very well said. It really does leave one aghast.
Georg says
Sorry to triple post, but I’m a bit beside myself today with the London mayoral result. Just wanted to remind everyone that we don’t have to buy into their propaganda. Remember, Merkel is a dyed-in-the-wool propagandist… that is her upbringing. These people are technocrats of propaganda and we must know that.
But there is still our tide. UKIP had a heartening show, and look at Austria’s upcoming presidential election, the swing toward pragmatism in Denmark, Viktor Orban, statements coming out of Poland and the Czech Republic. A while back Britain First received over 20-million views on a Facebook video. Alternative for Germany is on the upswing. Tommy Robinson recently received a flood of support from the counterjihadist community and we saved him from an unjust prison sentence that may well have resulted in catastrophe (unfortunately they’re now calling for a retrial, probably hoping we don’t have the steam for a second run). If you look on relatively impartial news sites, when they let us plebs at comments or even a poll, Islam is tremendously unpopular. We don’t have to win every battle, and keep in mind our pushback, wherever and how much it is, has real effects which serve posterity. Let us not be intimidated, shamed, or disuaded– but energized and galvanized. And most of all, never let them demoralize us as they’ve done with so many others.

Well said, sir. Well said.
Personally, I hope that Mr Spencer, as a practising Catholic, has *written* polite – and very sharply pointed – letters to this foolish German archbishop, *and* to Il Papa.
There is NOTHING to stop every Catholic jihadwatcher from so doing.
Sometimes it is up to the flock to correct the shepherds.

Quote: “Woelki insisted on the contrary that “the religion of Islam is compatible with the German constitution just as Judaism or Christianity are…if “.
Woelki hasn’t read the manuals of Sharia law or he would realize that church towers are not permitted by Sharia and neither are church bells.
As determined by Islamic law, church bells did not sound throughout the Middle East for more than a thousand years from the 7th century conquests until modern times (except under the Crusaders). This was due to the conditions set by the Pact of the Caliph Umar, by which Christians of Syria surrendered to Islamic conquest in the 7th century AD. In this pact the Christians agreed that “We will not sound the bells in our churches.” Churches in regions controlled by Muslims used semantrons (also called nakos) instead of the forbidden church bells. Examples of these are still visible in Jerusalem to this day, e.g. see here.
The pact of Umar is an example of what is known as a dhimma pact. Christians living in regions conquered by Islam were known as dhimmis. As dhimmis they were not permitted to display their religion in public. The silence of the bells was just one of many restrictions imposed upon Christians by Islamic law.
Cardinal Woelki knows nothing about Sharia law, but preposterously, presents himself as an authority on Islam.
Jay Boo says

Isn’t that your real point anyway?

A general comment–
If ever I find myself in a shopping mall being hunted by craze jihadis the last person I want standing beside me is a smarti-pants know it all explaining the Islamic concept of the kafir.
Ironically, such people who rely only on their intellect when confronted with moral choices will suddenly have an epiphany and delude themselves to believe that they are being rational when in fact they are merely rationalizing their self-serving desire to survive one more day, no matter the cost to others.

Perhaps Mr. Woelki shows that the Christians of Europe grew accustomed to dhimmitude to secularists; so now they’re getting ready to be dhimmi to Muslims.

Who knows? Soon it will be some 88% muslims in Europe? If the Catholic and the Protestant Churches may decide. The Protestant church is as “open” as the Catholic.
But how will the churches survive that? The church whether Catholic or Protestants are committing suicide.
Religions in Europe. My estimation.
1. Catholic church
2. Islam
3. Protestants
Protestants in minority.

Choosing a Muslim mayor in London, is just the first that will happen in Europe. At first, they are not the majority in the country, appear as Democrats and tolerant of any belief. When they are majority in a city, but not in the rsto the country, will make laws that favor Islam. Finally when they are in the majority in all the country imposed the sahariàh and Christians pay the “Diha” or tribute and suffer persecution and death. A simple question is needed to be asked of the new Mayor Elect:
As a Muslim, do you renounce the genocidal agenda embedded in the Qur’an

If the answer is yes he should be arrested and charged with fraud.

And yet the Koran and Islamic law have a totally different view of Church spires and towers.
According to the enlightened view of the Koran and hadith, Christians cannot build any building higher than surrounding Muslim buildings. Christians and Jews cannot even do routine maintenance on existing Church buildings.
In countries like Saudi Arabia, Christians and Jews cannot even have religious buildings, period. They can’t possess Bibles or Torah scrolls either, but that’s another related story.
When Saudi Arabia allows churches and the free and open practice of other religions and I can visit Mecca as an openly Christian tourist, then maybe, just maybe, I’d be prepared to discuss minarets.
Mark Nedelman says
Well, it’s not dificult to see why Catholicism is dead in Germany.
