Jihad Watch

Exposing the role that Islamic jihad theology and ideology play in the modern global conflicts

UK: Conservatives unapologetic for highlighting Muslim London mayor’s ties to jihadis

May 8, 2016 1:34 pm By Robert Spencer

Even the clueless and compromised dhimmi David Cameron was accused of “racism” for noting Sadiq Khan’s notably hospitable attitude toward Islamic supremacists and jihadists. This is the way these things always work nowadays: if you dare to mention that there are reasons to believe that a Muslim may be involved in jihad activity or, as in this case, clearly positive toward jihadists, it’s your fault, and a clear sign of “racism” and “Islamophobia,” even if the charges are accurate.

Leftists and Islamic supremacists have used such charges for years, and have succeeded in stigmatizing any discussion of how jihadists use the texts and teachings of Islam to justify violence and make recruits among peaceful Muslims as “bigotry” — which is why such discussions are so seldom pursued, and never in mainstream fora.

And so this Reuters story is all about how the wicked Conservatives are “unapologetic” for raising Khan’s ties to “extremists.” Reuters publishes no articles about the possible implications of Khan’s ties to “extremists.” The only concern is how “racist” the Conservative Party is.

Michael Fallon

“Conservatives unapologetic over tactics as Khan becomes London’s first Muslim mayor,” by Kate Holton, Reuters, May 7, 2016:

LONDON (Reuters) – Sadiq Khan of Britain’s opposition Labour Party was sworn in as Mayor of London on Saturday, becoming the first Muslim to head a major European capital after an election campaign marked by the ruling Conservatives’ efforts to link him to extremism.

The son of a Pakistani immigrant bus driver and a seamstress, Khan defeated Conservative candidate Zac Goldsmith, the son of a billionaire financier, by a record margin to secure the biggest individual mandate in British political history….

Politicians from all sides lined up to condemn the Conservative Party tactics in the race, but in the aftermath, Defence Secretary Michael Fallon refused to apologise.

“In the rough and tumble of elections, you get stuff said, questions asked,” Fallon told the BBC. “I think it is right that candidates for some of the most important offices in Britain do get scrutinised about their past associations.”

Conservatives including Prime Minister David Cameron and Fallon himself had questioned whether London would be safe under the control of Khan, a former human rights lawyer who grew up in public housing in the capital’s inner city.

“They used fear and innuendo to try to turn different ethnic and religious groups against each other – something straight out of the Donald Trump playbook,” Khan told the Observer newspaper.

Many commentators said the focus on religion had backfired in a city noted for its diversity.

During the race Goldsmith had joined forces with Cameron and other senior party members to question Khan’s past appearances alongside radical Muslim speakers at public events, accusing him of giving “oxygen” to extremists.

During one heated session in parliament, Labour lawmakers accused Cameron of racism when he repeatedly raised the issue.

CONTROVERSY, CONGRATULATIONS

Khan said he had fought extremism all his life and regretted sharing a stage with speakers who held “abhorrent” views….

Sadiq Khan has courted the jihadists (whom he calls ‘very religious’), he has defended them as a lawyer, he has not criticized them or promised to stop them in any way. It is a good bet that Sadiq Khan is a fellow traveller with the jihadists. His jihad is a stealth jihad, under the radar.

The UK government must have surveillance material on him that they are unable to reveal for fear of putting the source at risk. The bold comments of PM Cameron against Khan suggest there is much about Khan that is below the surface.

Khan will not be trusted by Scotland Yard or the Met. How can you have a mayor who is not trusted by the police and considered a security threat?

Really, should we feel too bad if NYC is hit by another jihad attack when their Commie mayor pulled the NYC police out of watching radical mosques? The ignorant, traitorous, and foolish people who elect such trash deserve their fate.

Khan’s flippant remarks about ‘Uncle Toms’ may have much truth behind them. There are no doubt many ex-Muslims in UK who fear for their lives and are helping police to find the jihadists who would gleefully execute them. Khan is on the side of the jihadists, because he is not on the side of the ‘Uncle Toms’.

Khan is at least in spirit, if not in deed, a traitor to the many liberties established over centuries by the largely unwritten and amorphous British Constitution, which this American developed a great admiration for long ago. Now such a person is mayor of London. No upside for liberty to this unless it proves to be the case that Khan makes even more Brits more sick of Islam, which belief system knows nothing, absolutely nothing, about liberty. Indeed, it has been an inveterate enemy of liberty from the seventh century onwards and remains so to this very day.

    • Demsci says

      May 8, 2016 at 9:40 pm

Yes, British Constitution is great and this “Khan” is an antagonist to it, due to his allegiance to Islam.

And perhaps the population of the 34 or so core Democratic Nations (EU-countries, Anglo-countries, Israel, Japan, South Korea) are taken this constitution far too much for granted.

There was the Magna Carta, in 1215, forced upon a very tyrannical King John.
And in 1381, at the Peasant’s revolt, you already had John Ball, rhyming: “When Adam wove and Eve span, who was then the Gentleman?” Alas he was hanged. In the 1640’s there were the amazing Levellers. In opposing to the still way too tyrannical King Charles I.

These people were compassionate positive exceptions, fighting for freedom, if not indeed for a better constitution.

And in the 19th + 20th century there were such people who in Europe and America were positive exceptions with passion for democratic ideals, like the democracy and the women vote.

These people were not merely against something they hated, but in favor of something they loved, strove for. Now that it is reached, if they lived now, they would be very glad. But it seems the majority of Democratic Citizens doesn’t care anymore for those positive ideals.

And so disguised totalitarians like this Sadiq Khan get their chance, more or less prophiting from a vacuum of positive ideals of our own people, on average.

Thanks for your comment, Demsci. Always good to get a Dutchman’s take on things. BTW, how is it going in The Netherlands? Are more and more Dutch getting sick of the Religion of Peace (ROP)? I certainly hope so. And what about Geert Wilders? What are his prospects right now? My God, what a mistake the West has made by bringing in by the millions spiritual fascists who adhere to the worst religion ever created by man.

        • Demsci says

          May 9, 2016 at 3:42 am

Well, Wellington, yeah, I daresay that more and more Dutch smell the coffee. In various degrees. Geert Wilders ‘party is in the polls the highest party, Labour (PvdA) has sunk to historic depths.

Nowadays the spotlight is also on Ebru Umar. A delightful columnist of Turkish descent. But to be sure, an ex-muslima with a heart for freedom and democracy and loyalty to her NEW country, not her OLD. Who regularly let the Muslims and Political Corrects HAVE IT, in her columns, if you catch my drift.

Now, she is being detained in Turkey, where she visited her parents, for insulting Erdogan!!! Well, and across the political spectrum here she get’s “support”, even if only in spirit. And some political support through diplomatic channels.

The most appalling consequence were the reactions of Turkish and other Muslims, who rejoiced about her arrest and indictment.

But she gave better than she got by saying in her column, that, this was good, because it showed the people who the traitors were among them (in Holland) and she painted those Islamic loyalists, as being failures in integration and prophiting from freedom and prosperity while being loyal to enemies of freedom. Quite exhilarating, and several Dutch forums were abuzz about this.

Yes, spiritual fascists you know who are, in a childish, almost naive, denying way, but still, the instructions are there in their holy scriptures or coming from their clerics all the time.

Hopefully there will be large scale electoral fraud uncovered which will lead to Khan being removed as Mayor and barred from standing for elected office again just like Lutfur Rahman in Tower Hamlets.
His links to and support for violent Islamic jihadists is well documented as are those of the usual crowd defending him like Baroness Warsi and treacherous Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn who lists Hamas and Hezbollah as “friends”
There will be civil war in Britain before too much longer, people have had enough of Islam and the lies of the stealth jihadists and Dhimmi apologists, people are fed up of being labelled as far right or Islamaphobic for raising genuine and valid concerns about the effect of Islam on Britain

Within a few days of Khan’s election to mayor hundreds of British buses will carry adverts praising Allah as part of a campaign launched by the country’s biggest Muslim charity to help victims of Syria’s civil war. Islamic Relief hopes the posters, which bear the words “Subhan Allah”, meaning “Glory be to God” in Arabic, will portray Islam and international aid in a positive light.

        http://www.ibtimes.co.uk/hsbc-snaps-ties-islamic-relief-over-terror-fears-1535825

Like so many others, it has more to do with funding violent Jihad than actually doing charitable work.

That should not surprise: “Zakat”–often mistranslated as “charity”–is more about expanding Islam through “holy war” than it is about doing charity work in the civilized sense of the term.

Have you provided proof for your remark? Because I remember telling you that calling someone a racist is just a handy way to shut down an opponent. Like in this case.

If you haven’t provided any evidence to back your claim then I’m stocking with Occam’s Razor: most people consider racism to be a bad thing. Most people don’t want to be called racists. Shout “racist” enough times and they’ll eventually shut up.

“(and at the time, when I was still bothering to respond to his incessant pestering, I wearily explained that there is such a motherfucking abundance of evidence,”

Saying that there is a “motherfucking abundance of evidence” is not the same as actually existing a “motherfucking abundance of evidence“. And coming in after a year to bitch and whine that I called you out on your nonsense while flinging cheap sophistry around is evidence only of your petty, childish character.

Again: calling someone a “racist” for criticizing islam is NOT evidence for your claim that “the Mainstream sees any criticism of Islam or or Muslims in terms of the race card“. If you want to go there you’ll have to acknowledge – because it’s using the same “logic” behind your assertion – that the existence of the word “islamophobe” is evidence enough to prove your assertion wrong.

          ………………………

Actually, I don’t think this is silly at all, Godless–I think it is quite common.

Some really do confuse opposition to a vicious ideology–Islam, in this case–with “racism”, but many others know that this is a separate matter, but that a false accusation of “racism” is apt to shut many people up.

This is especially true if those accused have not thought things carefully through as to understand the difference.

And even those who *do* understand the difference are likely to shut up, because they know that many listening will be swayed by such accusations, even if they themselves are not.

This is why outfits like CAIR are so apt to call critics of Jihad “Islamophobes” and “racists”–because it works.

Lizzy, I find such pessimistic remarks as yours and those of many others deplorable. Imagine if at the beginning of a battle the soldiers declared defeat. To me, the whole point of such sites as jihadwatch and Robert Spencer’s work as well as that of others speaking out against Islam, is to give us the ammunition to counter the Islamization of the world. There is good evidence that many Muslims leave the faith when their eyes are opened to its true colors. Our work is to do all we can to spread this true information in every way possible, to both Muslim and non-Muslim, and to support in every way that seems right to us the efforts of all who oppose this evil, politically, socially, through education, legislation, etc. Christians surely have faith that good is more powerful than evil, and that evil can be defeated as long as the forces of good don’t give up. In Winston Churchill’s words “We shall never surrender.”

Vicky…..I fully understand what you say and I, too, am ardent in putting my message out including constant letters/emails to MPs when I see the need to speak out. But I see too often people who regard islam and its adherents as peaceful and necessary members of our society. I an often regarded as racist, even by members of my own wider family but that’s water off a duck’s back.
      .
Every now and then I see and read too much that distresses me and maybe today is one of those days and my heart is filled with lead.

Sorry you find my words deplorable but thanks for pointing it out. Maybe I will be more positive tomorrow.

Hi Lizzy, I’m sorry if my comment was too strong – it wasn’t really aimed at you personally but at discouraging remarks in general. I sympathize with you completely. I also sometimes feel very distressed and disheartened. I too am feeling very alone in my stand against Islam and have been challenged rather unpleasantly by some in my family. I’ve been wishing I could find more like minded people. I don’t know if you’d like to be a Facebook friend of mine. I’m English but live in the US. I know it’s not always wise to accept Facebook friends that you don’t know. So you may not want to. Or we could exchange emails and have discussions. Either way, I do think that we have to believe this can be defeated one way or another.

Vicky….it’s all ok….I fully understand despair, anger, frustration, hatred etc., etc. in the subject of the Islamic invasion.

Thanks for the offer of facebook but I do not have an account with them…..I am quite old and lead a very busy life and have not the time for social media.

          Friendship, though.

I believe strongly that when Trump is elected that he will join with Russia to start routing the jihadists. I am not much on quoting verses and this one has been being quoted from many other countries to include Africa and Asian. “For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:” My opinion is they may be dead spiritually, I don’t exactly know. Other countries have stated that The Donald as he is called; Donald means World Leader. Trump refers to the verse. Putin was baptized Christian on the day of St. Michael and also given that same baptismal name. Many in those other countries are stating dreams and prophecies that are coming to them. This includes Israel. I also read where it seems that Cameron is scared of not having protection and therefore staying in the EU. I think he forgets that it was England, Russia and the USA that fought the NAZIs last. It seems as though the leopard in Obama’s Dreams of His Father may be Germany. He sees it behind him. Trump said he would work with Russia to go after the Jihadists. We may be living in that time. Who knows. I don’t think anyone should apologize for being honest. I congratulate this politician for standing his ground and telling the truth.

If Russia overhauls its leadership and replaces the current one with one that’s NOT holding on to power by mongering fear of the West, especially of the USA, sure, why not?

      ……………………..

Alas, Sharon, I’m afraid that Trump cluelessly lauded Khan’s election:

Trump said he was pleased to see Khan elected, the Times reported. “I was happy to see that … I think it’s a very good thing, and I hope he does a very good job because frankly that would be very, very good.

“You lead by example, always lead by example. If he does a good job … that would be a terrific thing.”

      http://www.theguardian.com/politics/2016/may/10/donald-trump-london-mayor-sadiq-khan-exception-muslim-ban

I’m sure by this last he means that having a “moderate” Muslim as mayor of London is going to make other Muslims more moderate, as well–but he is wrong on both counts. Khan is no “moderate”, and a “moderate” would not be apt to sway pious Muslims.

The problem is that all too few of our leaders understand anything about Islam.

    • gravenimage says

      May 12, 2016 at 12:06 am

But just because Trump lauded Khan’s election, that did not prevent Khan from excoriating Trump as an “Islamophobe” for daring to suggest that we halt immigration of Muslims into the US until we can determine who the terrorists are.

UK Labour has completely abandoned its original platform for their support of Islam and Muslims. It is clear some in the party would rather talk up Hitler, than criticize the hateful sentiment expressed by Muslims within the party.

Labour’s slogan should be: Muslims First

Open support from some of its Muslim members for Nazism and Hitler – have become a part of the tapestry of the Labour party!

So far gone – it is those who criticize Labour’s Muslims – who are labeled the ‘racists’. This is passed on to the thuggish protest wing of the party – and the critics of Muslim extremism – become the ‘racists’ who must be stopped.

    ::

It was clear Muslim groups had attached themselves to Labour – but besides open borders and the free housing – there is little else these conservative Muslim groups have in common with Leftist Labour. Oh, yes – there is the destroying of Israel – many Muslims are brought up to crave. It wouldn’t be long before they shed their Labour skin – and emerge as the political Islamic force ideally positioned to impose their religious dictates on the masses. And further aim to stir foreign policy – such that Israel will no longer be an ally.

    ::

Cameron should strike while the iron is hot and make it even more difficult to bring ones arranged marriage spouse in. [Like Denmark] it should not be an automatic right – generation after generation. This spectre is worst than a reluctance to assimilate – it’s the gathering of numbers of those hostile to western norms – it’s the raising of a jihadi army.

Britain became too depressing for me a few years back and I cancelled planned visits, have every intention of continuing to avoid. You know something’s seriously wrong with this particular cultist when he manages to get a rebuke from Cameron who, himself, has many times demonstrated to Islamists that Englishmen are easy.

Even the clueless and compromised dhimmi David Cameron was accused of “racism” for noting Sadiq Quote: Khan’s notably hospitable attitude toward Islamic supremacists and jihadists

If David Cameron thinks so, then he should order the security services to investigate Khan. And on their recommendation, fire Khan. He is the PM, and can do so, if he gets advice that Khan is a security risk

Muslims will riot. Good. Then they too can kettled and removed from the UK.
