Exposing the role that Islamic jihad theology and ideology play in the modern global conflicts

DHS whistleblower: “Self-radicalization” is myth, “concept of operating alone is anathema to the Islamic worldview”

Jun 16, 2016 6:34 am By Robert Spencer

Phil Haney on Orlando jihad mass murderer Omar Mateen and his mosque: “Imagine what it must have been like to be an active-duty subject matter expert in counter-terrorism. I had my own superiors making these kind of statements incessantly. When I was sitting there with evidence, for example, about the Ft. Pierce mosque – not only was there another person that blew himself up in Syria, but there’s an individual who is teaching a radicalization course who is on early release for weapons charges and tax fraud. And then his own father is vice-president of the mosque. As though nobody knew anything – that’s completely preposterous. If you know anything about the Islamic worldview, family and community is ultimately central to everything they do. The concept of operating alone is anathema to the Islamic worldview. They just don’t do it.”

This is true, accurate, and important — and anathema to the counter-terror establishment.

Philip Haney

“DHS Whistleblower Philip Haney: Islamist ‘Self-Radicalization’ Is a ‘Surreal’ Myth,” by John Hayward, Breitbart, June 15, 2016:

Former Department of Homeland Security official Philip Haney wishes he was more surprised by the Orlando terrorist attack, but as he pointed out on Breitbart News Daily this week, the attack came from exactly the sort of Islamic radical network he got in trouble for studying too carefully.

Indeed, one of the major points he stressed during a follow-up interview is that many of the purported barriers between these networks are bureaucratic illusions — they are larger, better-funded, and more interconnected than the Obama administration wants to admit.

I asked Haney about the false, but very loudly repeated, administration narrative that Orlando jihadi Omar Mateen was “self-radicalized” — an assertion that grows more ridiculous with each new revelation about his background.

Haney described the self-radicalization narrative as “surreal.”

“Imagine what it must have been like to be an active-duty subject matter expert in counter-terrorism,” he said:

I had my own superiors making these kind of statements incessantly. When I was sitting there with evidence, for example, about the Ft. Pierce mosque – not only was there another person that blew himself up in Syria, but there’s an individual who is teaching a radicalization course who is on early release for weapons charges and tax fraud. And then his own father is vice-president of the mosque.

“As though nobody knew anything – that’s completely preposterous,” he said. “If you know anything about the Islamic worldview, family and community is ultimately central to everything they do. The concept of operating alone is anathema to the Islamic worldview. They just don’t do it.”

“So, self-radicalization – what does that even mean any more?” he asked. “Nobody is self-anything in this world we live in.”

I suggested that one of the driving forces behind the self-radicalization narrative is that it protects the Obama administration from charges that it dropped the ball on counterterrorism, portraying terrorists like Mateen as thunderbolts nobody could have seen coming.

Haney laughed derisively at the idea of pushing that excuse when we know Mateen was interviewed on multiple occasions by the FBI. He compared it to the way President Obama and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton blamed the Benghazi terror attack on a “spontaneous video protest,” a false narrative meant to get them off the hook for being so completely unprepared to deal with the crisis. In both Benghazi and Orlando, red flags were ignored, and now they are retroactively denied.

“They say radicalization is ‘sudden.’ Well, a rocket launch looks very sudden, if you don’t know about all the months of hard work it took to get that rocket onto the launch pad,” Haney observed.

He denounced these political games as dangerously cynical.

“That’s when the false narrative morphs into an ominous malevolent entity, because the President is contradicting his own law enforcement agencies,” he observed.

Another false narrative he criticized was the fiction that radical Islamic organizations won’t cooperate, especially if they fall on opposite sides of the Sunni-Shiite divide. Haney stressed that obedience to sharia law — which he said radicals across the sectarian spectrum are “eighty percent in agreement on” — and the desire to impose it upon secular governments was a powerful common interest.

“It’s like the solar system, and sharia is the Sun,” he said of the Muslim continuum. To extend the analogy, radical groups might be seen as the outer planets, and the asteroid belt isn’t as wide as politically-correct U.S. government ideology portrays it.

Haney noted that Omar Mateen’s father is a supporter of the Taliban in Afghanistan, whose name is derived from the word for “student,” and “sharia law is what they study.” The centrality of the Islamic legal code to radicals cannot be overstated; he observed that all of them list imposing sharia as one of their primary goals and believe strict adherence to sharia is a defining attribute of true Islamic faith….

Self-radicalization would mean that the individual broke off from authentic Islam and took up a ‘perverted’ version…You can check with Rasool Obama or Hillary about that…Self-radicalization is also the polar opposite from ‘inner spiritual struggle jihad’…That can cause serious cognitive dissonance in the pious…There is no ‘radical’ anything in Islam…There is only Islam and the pious…Almost sounds like a rock group…

The Left wants us to believe that Omar Mateen had a sudden moment of Homophobia. Homophobia is what they claim led him to become self-radicalized and then go to Islamic Jihad websites and kill.

Oh what a tangled web is — (nothing to do with Islam).

We must stop making any distinction between the so called moderate and radical muslims. It is a distinction of semantics if that. The radicals are 6/7th century savages that think nothing of beheading anyone who does not agree with them and that is just for starters. Moderates are those who either keep silent in fear or do not have the stomach to join the savagery and instead raise money for the doers and cheer them on.
If as all our politicians keep telling us the majority of them are so called “moderates” then why do the “moderates” donate to orgs that promote terrorism? The answer is simple as most answers are. They want the terrorists to be successful and to do that they must be well financed and well armed. The U.S. govt is participating in this too. Do we not see ISIS armed with the most up to date U.S. military weapons? Ah yes they were left behind because it was not cost effective to ship them home and those armament left would be used by the security forces we trained. Who did our smart govt think would take them over? Explain how it is cost effective to arm the enemy to the teeth?

OMAR MATEEN WAS NOT A “LONE WOLF” —— HE WAS A KNOWN WOLF. Please, everyone, when you contact your federal and state elected representatives and senators, from now on use KNOW WOLF —- never “lone wolf” anymore.

And point out to them that Obama’s refusal to speak the words “Islam”, and “jihad”, and “Sharia”, plus his elimination of TRUTHFUL TRAINING MATERIALS FROM FBI EDUCATION guarantees that the United States is continually at risk for another Muslim massacre.

ALSO, WHEN YOU CONTACT YOUR REPS AND SENATORS, emphasize that what Omar Mateen did, and what happened on 9/11, at Fort Hood, and in Paris was not “radical” — those events were 100% ORTHODOX, DEVOUT, FULLY-FAITHFUL ISLAM, commanded by the bloodthirsty “god” of Muslims in Chapter Nine (Taubah) of the Qur’an.

That is actually the 2nd to last one CHRONOLOGICALLY —- coming to Muhammad just a year before he died. It cancels ALL PREVIOUS PEACEFUL PASSAGES about Infidels. For more on this, got to http://www.citizenwarrior.com and type “The Qur’an’s last word on non-Muslims” in the search box.

While you are at Citizen Warrior, set aside about 30 minutes of UNDISTRACTED TIME to read “The terrifying brilliance of Islam”. Also pass that along to your family and clueless friends, your faith leader, and everyone else who still clings to wishful thinking.

Western elites are trying to SPIN jihad ‘narratives’ so they can control the stupid voters who know zero about Islam!

It is offensively manipulative and intentionally deceptive. Did they not realize that there would be a backlash when the public realized Obama and Hillary have been lying consistently about Islam?

It’s about making the world safe for big oil of which Saudis are the kingpins.

We must get off of oil and use alternate fuels and tell the Saudis to buy camels, because we won’t do business with these exporters of jihad anymore.

It began as far back as the 1930s when the Rockefeller Bros financed Hermann Muller to help develop the narrative that the only higher power density physics than combustion was dangerous. They then financed the BEAR committees for another decade to really put the nail in the coffin of the only real competitor to oil.

New nuclear systems can drive the price of OIL to $25 / bbl, and so drive the market that no-one particularly wants the stuff even at that price.

Once that happens, Wahhabistan and it’s royal family will cease to be a player, and they’ll have to rely on the creativity of their people to generate wealth. Say goodbye to Islam. Say goodbye to Wahabistan, and say hello to reliance on people to generate wealth. We have to do it.

I have always hated the terms self-radicalized, home grown and lone wolf. Those terms are designed to mislead the public instead of inform them. People are radicalized in their homes, schools and Mosques, first generation or later non-assimilated populations are not home grown and all of them are part of the savage Muslim pack. This savage was no different than if he was born and raised in Afghanistan. Correction, PC let him in, educated him, PC got him this job, kept him from being fired, PC interfered with FBI handling, let him have a gun license and was the co-conspirator in this atrocity.

    This is very, very important.

The most important point is the one that Mr Spencer has, rightly, put in bold.

“As though nobody knew anything – that’s completely preposterous,” he said. “If you know anything about the Islamic worldview, family and community is ultimately central to everything they do. The concept of operating alone is anathema to the Islamic worldview. They just don’t do it.”

To repeat, “The concept of operating alone is anathema to the Islamic worldview. They just don’t do it.”

This meshes with something that Ayaan Hirsi Ali says in “Infidel”, when she is describing the Muslim Brotherhood revivalists who were active in the expat Muslim ‘community’ in Kenya when she was in – I think – her late teens. She herself somehow didn’t quite swallow what they were peddling, because she had been devouring western literature both classical and popular (especially, on the ‘popular’ side, sexy Mills & Boon and Harlequin romances that, subliminally, taught the significance of the individual human person and of one’s own desires and personal choices). But she understood what they were about, and with the benefit of hindsight, she reflects upon it (and upon the type of ‘culture’ and attitudes that Islam promotes and seeks to inculcate in both men and women.

I quote, from “Infidel”, chapter 6:

“A Muslim woman must not feel wild, or free, or any of the other emotions and longings I felt as I read these books [that is, those ‘sensual romance novels and trashy thrillers’ that she mentions in the previous paragraph – dda] .
“A Muslim girl does not make her own decisions or seek control. She is trained to be docile. If you are a Muslim girl, you disappear, until there is almost no you inside you.
{Note how this concept – “you disappear until there is almost no ‘you’ inside you’ – and it is what she came to understand from the wholly orthodox teachings of the earnest Miss Aziza, a female Muslim Brotherhood revivalist – is signalled by the progressive disappearance of the woman’s hair, form, face, under the progressively-more-complete forms of the slave-rag – at one end of the spectrum, the head-bag or slave-hood; at the other end, the burqa that erases the woman’s form and face altogether, so she must peer through a mesh – dda]

“In Islam, becoming an individual is not a necessary development; many people, especially women, never develop a clear individual will. You submit; that is the literal meaning of the word ‘Islam’: Submission. The goal is to become quiet inside, so you never raise your eyes, not even inside your mind.” END QUOTE.

Let’s just repeat that – “In Islam, becoming an individual is not a necessary development; many people, especially women, never develop a clear individual will.”

This chapter of Infidel is important, because it shows how the ‘submission’ thing works; what it *means*.

And it chimes *exactly* with Haney’s insight; that if you are part of the Ummah, the ‘blob’, you *do not* act on your own volition or initiative. You do NOT. Your whole culture and upbringing is against that.

When I read Ayaan’s description of the process of ‘self-nullifying’ that Muslims are supposed to engage in I was reminded of the ‘Imperius curse’ in the Harry Potter novels (see in particular “Goblet of Fire”). Those placed under that curse – which Rowling defines as one of the ‘three unforgiveable curses’ – are puppets and slaves. They have *no* independent will; they experience a spurious ‘bliss’, a drugged euphoria even as they are being made to do things that are foolish, dangerous or destructive.

The ‘submitted’ Muslims are emptying their minds so that they can become, at command, passive vehicles of the “Islam-program”, enacting its deadly diktats without the smallest contrary twinge of conscience.

Here’s MINO Tawfiq Hamid describing this concept in an article from 2008, “The Development of a Jihadist’s Mind”.

    http://www.jpost.com/Magazine/Features/Article.aspx?id=89135

“…During my first year of medical school, a Jamaah member named Muchtar Muchtar invited me to join the organization [Jemaah Islamiya, in Egypt – dda].

“Muchtar was in his fourth year, and Jamaah had given him the title amir (prince or caliph) – a designation taken from early Islamic writings that is associated with the Islamic caliphate or amir almomenin (prince of the believers).

” I accepted his invitation, and we walked together to Jamaah’s mosque for noon prayers.

“On the way there Muchtar emphasized the central importance in Islam of the concept of al-fikr kufr, the idea that the very act of thinking (fikr) makes one become an infidel (kufr). (In Arabic both words are derived from the same three root letters but have different meanings.)

“He told me, “Your brain is just like a donkey [a symbol of inferiority in the Arab culture] that can get you only to the palace door of the king [Allah]. To enter the palace once you have reached the door, you should leave the donkey [your inferior mind] outside.”

“By this parable, Muchtar meant that a truly dedicated Muslim no longer thinks but automatically obeys the teachings of Islam…”.

    Let’s just repeat that:

“…a truly dedicated Muslim no longer thinks but automatically obeys the teachings of Islam…”.

They may ‘think’ in the sense of plotting, planning, lying and deceiving. But in another important sense they have STOPPED thinking; they do not question, or criticise; just as Ayaan has already pointed out in the quote I gave, it’s about passivity, becoming a vehicle of what I might call ‘the Islam program’.

One may also note, by the way, that severe – and early – sexual abuse of children, whether girls or boys, seems to be rife in the dar al Islam; and it is precisely that sort of abuse that is implicated in conditions such as ‘multiple personality disorder’, and other disturbance of the psyche. A child whose boundaries are violated early and violently does not even develop a sense of boundaries, they do not *have* a ‘self’; their psychic growth is stunted or arrested. Which, of course, in the Islamic context means that they are likely to be minimally resistant to the ‘Islam program’ for which they are supposed to be the passive unquestioning vehicles.

      ExceIlent post (IMHO)!
I prefer the Tibetan path to “annihilation of consciousness” by way of prayer and meditation.

If I may assume in summary: Jihadism is working off impulses from the “reptilian” part of the brain as pre programed from birth. (In economics, social customs, migration, politics and war).

Automatic response system; poor Omar felt gay, inter acted with gays at the very least and his Tali daddy may have done things to him that made him that way AND Islam forbade it (allegedly). The automatic response was to plan to kill himself and other infidel gays for daring to think for themselves as learned from Tali Daddy and Moe-Ham-Mad. I don’t see how he even needed inspiration from ISIS at all. ISIS will always take credit for what was already there and when Jihadist cite ISIS in their killings which are then repeated by investigating authorities it just takes away from the problems Islam causes here. Most of ISIS itself is half a world away.

Actually there are many, many different versions of following Islam. It is preposterous to claim they all follow the same thing – many ‘Muslims’ are fairly secular and just go to a mosque on ‘holy’ days – many females do not wear the head coverings, many are trying to discover themselves and what this ‘religion’ they were born into means to their own lives. The big problem is we do not know when any of them will suddenly become more ‘devout’ and start reading & listening to the extreme ideas that DO surround them. Most of them have grown up since babies in this cult, often with divergent family beliefs, some Christians or Buddhist or other family members too. It IS a very big problem, but it is made so much worse if we try to say they are ALL following the book to the letter ! We actually cause those type of Muslims to perk up and start paying attention and possibly get defensive that THEY are being attacked.
Many of them are ‘in love’ with their faith & life-style and if you criticize that all you do is make them defensive, and way more likely to join into a grouping which may preach violence. It becomes them v us !!!
Do we have to have an anti-Muslim immigration posture ? I actually think it is probably already in place anyway – but they seem to be missing the signs. Donald Trump is a moron, but on this one subject he says some things that SHOULD be discussed honestly, but it is not a simple matter and we cannot make bogey men out of every person who says they are Muslim when large numbers have no ill-intent. The guy in this article is being careful & feeling scared, but lumping 1.5 billion people into one camp is way too simplistic.
This is all true – I despise the whole thing, and I think maybe we should try to educate the whole population in what those extreme ideas are and where they get them from, so that no-one can say they didn’t know ! Let’s discuss what the extremists want.
Biggest problem is caused by Westerners (mostly males) who go completely off the deep end and get into retaliatory violence themselves – that solves nothing !!!
Stay calm guys – what do you expect to be the result if you fall right into the same behavior as THEIR extremists ? Do you see Robert out there shooting or punching or stabbing anyone because they are Muslim ?

This is an example of the wide spread spychosis of decision makers across the world where we have people who are in a form of psychosis that causes them to be detached from reality. Two very good examples of this phenomenon is the behaviour of Obama and Merkel.

We also need to understand that in their current state of mind they are incapable of accepting facts that are backed up with ever increasing falsifiable evidence. No amount of evidence or logic will solve the situation, as these decision makers seem incapable of accepting either of those.

At the first police press briefing – the chief repeated – if you see something say something – and it was like he was serious – and the Fox reporter asked the question as to whether the attack has ideologically led.

All of this of course was likely before Obama woke up. To suggest it had anything to do with Islamic terrorism – before they had permission to do so – normally is strictly out of bounds!!

Trump talks about the cost of vetting and resettling – Hillary’s 500% increase in Syrian and Middle Eastern refugees/ migrants – but he should also focus on the cost on surveilling them for years to come.

The Yemeni-American jihadi preacher Al-Awlaki said, “Jihad is becoming as American as apple pie.”

If Obama’s policies are continued this is what you are going to get.

It is going to get worse. Our Quisling govt keeps brining in INVADERS that they quaintly label as refugees. There are hundreds of thousands of them. The govt tries to make it look like there are fewer of them by breaking it down by the different countries they come from. Even if only a small percentage of them are willing to commit the kind of overt jihad as happened in Orlando one can only imagine what our future is if it is not stopped at once.

They don’t know for certain why he traveled two times to Saudi Arabia, but they are sure he was self radicalized?????
