Exposing the role that Islamic jihad theology and ideology play in the modern global conflicts

Islamic State seizes Syria villages from US-backed forces

Jun 20, 2016 11:42 am By Robert Spencer

The Pentagon and the establishment analysts keep telling us that the Islamic State is losing. There are just a few inconvenient facts that need to be ignored in order to establish that.

Manbij

“ISIS seizes Syria villages from US-backed fighters: activists,” Agence France Presse, June 20, 2016:

BEIRUT: ISIS launched a surprise assault Monday near its besieged stronghold in northern Syria, killing residents of two villages it recaptured from U.S.-backed fighters, activists said.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said ISIS had dispatched a small group of extremists – including one driving an explosives-laden car – into villages southeast of their bastion of Manbij.

The villages had been seized in recent weeks by the U.S.-backed Syrian Democratic Forces in their push for Manbij.

“IS (ISIS) is trying to defend Manbij by sending fighters from outside the town to attack the SDF in these villages,” said Rami Abdel-Rahman, the director of the Britain-based Observatory.

“Daesh executed residents,” he added, using an Arabic acronym for ISIS.

The head of the Observatory, which relies on a vast network of sources on the ground for its information, did not have an immediate toll from the villages.

The U.S.-led coalition backing the SDF carried out a barrage of airstrikes Monday to defend the villages, said Abdel-Rahman.

At least four SDF fighters were killed in the clashes and many more were wounded.

The SDF – a Kurdish-Arab alliance with air support from the U.S.-led coalition – encircled Manbij nearly 10 days ago.

But since then, they have been slowed by almost daily suicide bombings as ISIS puts up a fight for the town.

Held by the extremists since 2014, Manbij was a key stop along ISIS’s supply route from the Turkish border southeast through the town of Tabqa and on to its de facto Syrian capital of Raqqa….

There is no way that any US-backed “moderates” can defeat ISIS jihadists, the only way to defeat ISIS is by supporting the Syrian army of Assad but Saudi-allied US gvrnmnt won’t do that and they will only face another failure in Syria like they faced in Libya and Iraq. after they destroyed the secular regimes in those places.

Fully Agree. The US isn’t there to fight ISIS, it’s there to topple Assad to have the ability to push a pipeline through.

Wow! Seeing the refugee crisis as a way to Islamise the world as I do, this Senator Black nails it. Our Government is complicate in this! If this Senator see it so clearly why don’t other congressional leaders? Now I see why my Syrian Artist friends on Facebook never ever complained about Assad either! Wow!

My whole focus of presenting Islam as the enemy just changed. They are still the enemy, but Obama’s administration and other Congressional leaders are in this up to their eyebrows! It is all about oil and world domination.

Syria is not about Assad it’s about world domination and arming terrorists is the cheapest and shortest to do it.

Don’t forget America is a military empire now and the constitution means nothing to either party.
Their is big money in endless war for politicians that invest heavily in the military industrial complex.
It doesn’t matter if you support democrat or republican that are all traitors and work together to dominate the world.

You are right (EM) there is no “moderates” in Syria and ISIS was created and armed by the Axis of Evil which are US, Saudis and the genocidal Turks.

          @ Angemon

I believe (and I am sure “Christianblood” will agree with me) that US created ISIS when they bombed and overthrew and even backed the muslim jihadists that were fighting Qaddafi in Libya and Assad in Syria. Remember US and Nato provided air support and satellite help to the muslim jihadists that were fighting Qaddafi just a few years ago? US also not only ignored when ISIS and other jihadists started fighting Assad but actually, along side with Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Qatar provided them arms, money and equipment hopping that they will be able to topple Assad in a short time. US also encouraged Mubarak to step down so that MB will take control of Egypt and they also bombed Saddam Hussein creating a vacuum that only muslim jihadists could fill. Finally, US generals themselves confirm that, please read this explosive report by a US general on the website below as he confirming had a hand US in creating ISIS: http://www.globalresearch.ca/retired-us-general-admits-militarys-role-in-creating-isis/5463275

Since you’re trying to blame the US for something, I bet he will. It’s when someone uses logic and facts to prove him wrong that he starts pushing back.

“that US created ISIS when they bombed and overthrew and even backed the muslim jihadists that were fighting Qaddafi in Libya and Assad in Syria. ”

Well, you’re wrong. The group that would morph into ISIS was formed back in 1999 or 2000.

Oh, great, GlobalResearch – an anti-Western website that can’t tell the difference between serious analysis and discreditable junk, and therefore publishes both.
When it comes to, for example, geopolitics, you’re better off trusting rumours, or little kids, or tin-foil-hats conspiracy nuts. Their line of thinking is like this: is there something wrong? Then the West did it, period. It’s no wonder that some consider it to be part of the Kremlin-sponsored anti-Western propaganda machine (having Russia Today as a contributor does nothing to help combat such assertions).

Just for laughs, here is a shining example of how reliable GR is when it comes to geopolitics:

          http://www.globalresearch.ca/north-korea-a-land-of-human-achievement-love-and-joy/5344960

North Korea, a Land of Human Achievement, Love and Joy
          By Andre Vltchek

Oh, remember what I said about GR being an anti-Western site? From that article:

The West, its policy makers and mass media, succeeded in creating an image of a dehumanized North Korea. They did it by blurring the faces. For decades North Koreans were being portrayed as inhabitants of some monstrous hermit empire where men, women and children all look alike, dress the same, behave like robots, never smile and do not look into each other’s eyes.

They’re not bad, they’re just portrayed as bad by the big, meanie Westerners!!!

Barack Obama may be complicit and even encouraging his Muslim buddies during his presidency, and Bush may be guilty of the same, but I will never agree that Congress had a GOAL to “create” Islamic State. ISIS is just a name, a new name actually for the same old Jihad movement in the Middle East. These guys, per “On the Ground” YouTube videos that take place right in the Middle East, wander from one group to another depending on present success of the offending group. So, say Taliban are having success, and getting the perks of being a Jihadi, Islamic State Jihadis will leave and go to Taliban. And Jihad has been a norm in the Middle East for centuries. However long the USA has been involved, before THAT was internal war.

I totally agree that when USA left Iraq President Obama left a huge hole for IS and other groups to fill, but that just means they were there in the first place. They just didn’t pop up outta nowhere! You guys are forgetting that Jihad and dying as a Jihadi IS THE HIGHEST HONOR a Muslim man can achieve per the Qur’an! No matter where the hole is, Jihad will fill it. If that hole is created by Assad, Jihad will fill it. It doesn’t matter the NAME of the group. What matters is their goal. To destroy the West.

Right to the point, dear Ex-muslim! I fully agree with your points!
I will only add that in Afghanistan some three decades ago US founded, armed, trained and even religiously encouraged Osama Bin laden, Alqaeda and the Taliban to fight their jihad against USSR. Please watch the very telling video clip below:
          https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A9RCFZnWGE0

And also US bombed Christian Serbia and created two islamic states (Bosnia & Kosovo) in the heart of Europe. Where’s the evidence that I’m “close minded” Why, nowhere – it’s just a way to dismiss me without actually addressing what I wrote. I wrote that the group that would morph into ISIS was formed back in 1999 or 2000. Do you or EM dispute that? Do you or Em even address that? No and No – the lies EM posted are “obvious facts” and “truth” according to you, no explanation necessary. The circle-jerk continues.
