Omar Mateen seems to have been quite concerned about his place in jihadi history, and relaxed enough about the length of time he had before law enforcement showed up that he had time to check Facebook and call his jihadi wife.

As Omar Mateen carried out the worst mass shooting in U.S. history at an Orlando gay nightclub, he checked Facebook to see if his terrorism was trending.
A letter from a Senate committee to Mark Zuckerberg details the gunman’s searches on the social network for “Pulse Orlando” and “shooting” after launching the slaughter Sunday morning around 2 a.m….
The maniac was linked to five different Facebook accounts, according to the letter from the Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs.
“America and Russia stop bombing the Islamic state..I pledge my alliance to abu bakr al Baghdadi..may Allah accept me,” he posted on Facebook, referring to the Islamic State’s leader.
He also wrote: “The real muslims will never accept the filthy ways of the west” and “You kill innocent women and children by doing us airstrikes..now taste the Islamic state vengeance.”
In a final post, he wrote: “In the next few days you will see attacks from the Islamic state in the usa,” according to the letter.
A source said the Facebook posts came moments before the attack began.
The deranged gunman’s search history on Facebook before the attack also contained warning signs.
In May he looked up information on the San Bernardino shooters who killed 14 people.
On June 4 he looked up “Baghdadi Speech….
