This pope is a Liberation Theologist who found a nice place for himself in the Catholic Church. It has been Cultural Marxism spewing from his filthy mouth ever since. He is utterly disgusting and does not represent Jesus Christ and God whatsoever.
He should convert to Islam and get it over with.
Jay Boo says
He rose to Cardinal in Leftist Argentina.
In Hungary he probably would have been booted out of the country long before he became a Bishop and been forced to wait outside the barbwire border defense with his Muslim buddies and apply for readmission.

Meantime what a nightmare he is. It’s like watching Obama, only worse. Because the Pope is supposed to be imitating Christ! Not.

The fact that the atheist left holds this Pope in high esteem says a lot about his views. He believes that the redistribution of wealth, backed by the power of the state, to be the answer to poverty. Where is the blessing in this? The welfare state has ruined generations of the black community. The church is the entity that should be helping people in poverty, not the government. But the church has abdicated it’s proper role.
Cecilia Ellis says
Brian, I think your analysis is in keeping with that expressed by Thomas Jefferson:
“I predict future happiness for Americans if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them.”
Carolyne says
Yes, the church has abdicated its proper role and just amasses wealth.

It would be less outrageous if the Pope had referred to a questionable interpretation from Revelation than to shamelessly appease Muslims with a grossly false equivalence to Islam in reference to the Gospel of Mathew as mentioned in this video.

James Foard says
Pope Francis apostatized when he mocked the Lord’s act of washing the disciples feet and washed the feet of Muslim’s, making no distinction between a follower of Christ and a pagan. Let’s be clear: Jesus washed the feet of His DISCIPLES. He did not wash the feet of the followers of the goddess Diana. He did not go out and round up a bunch of Roman’s or Greeks who followed pagan gods and worshiped Zeus or Jupiter or who were philosophers. He gathered His Jewish followers and washed their feet in the same upper room where they later celebrated the Passover meal (the celebration of the blood of the Lamb put on the doorposts in Egypt and the Passover meal – they also had to eat the lamb – that kept them safe from the death angel), from which we get the Holy Supper, the blood of the Lamb of God and His body in communion that sets us free from spiritual death. Peter protested when the Lord gathered the towel and water to wash their feet, “You shall never wash my feet!”
Then Jesus said something that must have further shocked Peter: “Unless I wash you, you have no part with me” (John 13:8). He went on to say “Now you are clean, but not all,” referring to Judas who would betray Him. This was something that Jesus did that was exclusively for His disciples, showing them that through baptism and repentance, through faith in Him, and through His sacrifice, they would be clean from sin, and later on that night He gave them the sacrament of the Holy Supper. This was not meant for pagans, this was a sacred act of the Saviour for those who had professed genuine faith in Him and were willing to follow Him and eventually lay down their lives for Him.
Francis washing the feet of Muslims who deny the deity of Christ was a disgrace, and an abomination.
Nigel GFF says
Good thoughts and observations. I’ll have to read that chapter and verses again.
I wonder if those feet he (Pope Francis) washed felt luke-warm or icy to the touch.
Henri says
The washing of feet is not a sacrament, nor an intrinsic part of one, e.g. Communion. Pope Francis is free to demonstrate his ambition for everyone to come closer and feel the love of God, and be inspired by Christ’s example, expressed in a very personal, inspirational way. No criticism is warranted; as Pope, he is carrying out his mandate, with reverence and care, and reminding us of the essence of the Christian message..

Right after that last ‘slash’, those are the numbers/letters which will identify your video. Once you type the whole thing-beginning with the https:, you’ll have a ‘clickable link’.

Indeed- for those of us who found respect for the church because of someone like JPII- not perfect, but quite fearless against communism- a pope like this certainly erodes that respect.
Kathy Brown, Esq. says
I can’t tell if you’re a Catholic or not Anne. Either way, your post is a good one.
To those of us who are Catholics, we are so, not because of a certain Pope. The Church’s history is so long-2,000 years-that we’ve had some hideous Popes. The Medici’s for example.
The present Pope is a horror. His statements are heretical. One of the posters above-Henri-defended the Pope’s ‘washing of the feet of muslims’ as something ‘Christ-like’.
Now this would be, perhaps, arguable if we were living in a media-blackout age. But we aren’t. In law, the ‘reasonable person’ standard governs everything, and it’s no different here. The Pope knew or SHOULD HAVE KNOWN, that muslims interpret such an act as one of submission. He DOES know that all over the world, muslims are slaughtering innocents to effect the submission of others. So the Pope behaves ‘unreasonably’ which-again in law-makes him liable.
And this doesn’t even address his previous [indefensible] statements, i.e. ‘The god of Christians and muslims is the same’, and ‘The Koran and Bible are equal’. These two statements are absolutely and completely contrary to Church teaching.
Cecilia Ellis says
Kathy Brown wrote: “The Pope knew or SHOULD HAVE KNOWN, that muslims interpret such an act as one of submission.”
Absolutely correct, Kathy! Perhaps if Pope Francis does not have time to read the Qur’an, then he can at least read the Pact of Omar, a CliffsNotes version of how Muslims interpret his foot-washing action.
The following translation, provided by Raymond Ibrahim, of the “Conditions of Omar” depict how Christians are directed to act in the presence of “the best of people”:
“Not to build a church in our city—nor a monastery, convent, or monk’s cell in the surrounding areas—and not to repair those that fall in ruins or are in Muslim quarters;
Not to clang our cymbals except lightly and from the innermost recesses of our churches;
Not to display a cross on them [churches], nor raise our voices during prayer or readings in our churches anywhere near Muslims;
Not to produce a cross or [Christian] book in the markets of the Muslims;
Not to congregate in the open for Easter or Palm Sunday, nor lift our voices [in lamentation] for our dead nor show our firelights with them near the market places of the Muslims;
Not to display any signs of polytheism, nor make our religion appealing, nor call or proselytize anyone to it;
Not to prevent any of our relatives who wish to enter into Islam;
Not to possess or bear any arms whatsoever, nor gird ourselves with swords;
To honor the Muslims, show them the way, and rise up from our seats if they wish to sit down;
We guarantee all this to you upon ourselves, our descendants, our spouses, and our neighbors, and if we change or contradict these conditions imposed upon ourselves in order to receive safety, we forfeit our dhimma [covenant], and we become liable to the same treatment you inflict upon the people who resist and cause sedition.”
http://www.raymondibrahim.com/2014/03/24/western-ignorance-of-the-conditions-of-omar/
Pope Francis’ foot-washing demonstration is in keeping with the highest traditions of these conditions. As you said, Kathy, it strains the imagination to conclude that his action accords with the “reasonable person” standard. Well said!

Christ’s commandment to make disciples of all nations has been termed ‘THE GREAT COMMISSION’.
It is the pope’s CHIEF job to implement and further that commission of PREACHING. Service is SECONDARY to the preaching, rather than primary. While some preaching must be done by example, PREACHING IS THE CHIEF JOB OF THE POPE.
Francis is betraying his chief role as chief preacher of the THEOLOGY of the ATONEMENT.

If this Pope is Christian then I am Jesus Christ.
What is this softness to evil Islam nowadays? What benefit Islam provides to these world leaders and liberals? They just love protecting Islam and closing their eyes to the history of Islam and what Muslims are doing to infidels, Muslims and all others all over the world.
I understand the liberal mindset of believing western civilization and America are evil crap but committing suicide to protect Islam is something that I still don’t get. There must be something out there enabling people to be idiots when it comes to Islam.

I don’t believe Raymond Ibrahim’s point is that all Atheists are Leftist and Marxist.
Leftist and Marxist are use here as adjectives before the word Atheist.
Atheist is in reference to this Pope’s hypocritical religious relativism behaving as if he believes all religions are the same while claiming to be a Christian leader.
This Pope sounds like a Leftist Marxist Atheist as opposed to the Pope.

Carolyne says
I am not Christian, but I am not against Christianity. I just don’t believe in mythical beings who rule the earth nor that it has chosen one man to represent it. In recent years the pope hasn’t caused too much damage to the world, but this one is bent on doing so. At least the last one Benedict, wasn’t killed but was deposed for his stance on Islam and allowed to remain living in apparently some luxury at Castel Gandolfo.
In past centuries, when a new pope was chosen and the smoke changed colors, the common man was told that it was a supreme being’s doing. Now we know it is just a chemical reaction brought about by throwing something into the burning ballots to change its color. All of this is smoke and mirrors and this pope doesn’t represent a supreme being any more than my dog does.
I don’t care whether or not Catholics believe in popes so long as he doesn’t threaten me, and this one does.
Kathy Brown, Esq. says
This Pope DOES threaten everyone Carolyne. So there is nothing anti-Catholic in criticizing him. And I’m a Catholic saying this.
However a FYI: We all know that the ‘smoke changing colors’ most certainly is because a different kind of straw is fed into the fire. We’ve never said that it was ‘a supreme being’s doing’.

i find something in Christianity, in the sincerity of a ratio of the disciples, and some stuff in the bible, but no percentage in this pope, who may be mad, god knows what happening with him, one has to trust oneself, some priests are not sincere, maybe some are, and some stuff in Hinduism that i like, but Krishna is a spoilt brat, there is bits of wisdom in all religions, but without prejudice there is jack except evil in Islam. GOD is variale cos can’t be defined, some say Earth is Goddess. Jewish i don’t know, but with Jews no one says reasonably why they are not liked, seems like religious prejudice. Allah may be conjured from stone spirit, more to suss about that. And some people are c**ts no matter which religion or no religion. There may a lot more to uncover, i don’t know, i’m leaning towards the thing between followers being down to the persons coloured maybe by the ways of any particular religion and also inherent from birth of the person.
Whatever, the pope is mad or on drugs.
citycat says
I suppose emotions run wild over the deeply personal involvement with GOD, the devotion etc
The underlying stuff of the religion may have an influence on that,
i mean is not Islam an example of that to more of a degree than any religion. I think Islam might not be a religion. There is nothing good i’ve seen in the Qur’an, except the UNSEEN, which might not be solely Islamic and nicked from other religious thought, which i think some Muslims interpret as Zero, and as some sort of magical secret. The debate about religion goes on and on and on and on
