The Islamic State is reportedly desperate and is now preparing its followers for the collapse of the caliphate, due to the dwindling numbers of its jihad fighters in Iraq and Syria, which has been attributed to the U.S.-led coalition and Russian-backed forces. Yet the Islamic State has not lost its so-called vision for other areas of the Middle East, or for overseas.
Of particular concern to the West is that European intelligence officials fear that the Islamic State has already begun a new phase of planning in the West. A French senior security official who wished to remain anonymous stated that “they will now expand to other tactics and start executing much more insidious and covert ops, in big cities.”
An Islamic State spokesman said it in September 2014: “O America, O allies of America, and O crusaders, know that the matter is more dangerous than you have imagined and greater than you have envisioned….We will conquer your Rome, break your crosses, and enslave your women, by the permission of Allah, the Exalted. This is His promise to us; He is glorified and He does not fail in His promise. If we do not reach that time, then our children and grandchildren will reach it, and they will sell your sons as slaves at the slave market.”
“Inside ISIS: Quietly preparing for the loss of the ‘caliphate’”, by Joby Warrick and Souad Mekhennet, The Washington Post, June 12, 2016:
Even as it launches waves of terrorist attacks around the globe, the Islamic State is quietly preparing its followers for the eventual collapse of the caliphate it proclaimed with great fanfare two years ago.
In public messages and in recent actions in Syria, the group’s leaders are acknowledging the terrorist organization’s declining fortunes on the battlefield while bracing for the possibility that its remaining strongholds could fall.
At the same time, the group is vowing to press on with its recent campaign of violence, even if the terrorists themselves are driven underground. U.S. counterterrorism experts believe the masscasualty attacks in Istanbul andBaghdad in the past month were largely a response to military reversals in Iraq and Syria.
Such terrorist acts are likely to continue and even intensify, at least initially, analysts say, as the group evolves from a quasi-state with territorial holdings to a shadowy and diffuse network with branches and cells on at least three continents.
Indeed, while the loss of a physical sanctuary would constitute a major blow to the Islamic State — severely limiting, for example, its ability to raise money, train recruits or plan complex terrorist operations — the group’s highly decentralized nature ensures that it will remain dangerous for some time to come, according to current and former U.S. officials and terrorism experts.
“Where al-Qaeda was hierarchical and somewhat controlled, these guys are not. They have all the energy and unpredictability of a populist movement,” said Michael Hayden, the retired Air Force general who headed the CIA from 2006 to 2009.
Islamic State officials, in public statements and in interviews, insist that the group’s “caliphate” project remains viable while also acknowledging that military setbacks have forced a change in strategy.
“While we see our core structure in Iraq and Syria under attack, we have been able to expand and have shifted some of our command, media and wealth structure to different countries,” a longtime Islamic State operative, speaking through an Internet-based audio service, said in an interview.
“We do have, every day, people reaching out and telling us they want to come to the caliphate,” said the operative, who agreed to speak to a Western journalist on the condition that his name and physical location not be revealed. “But we tell them to stay in their countries and rather wait to do something there.”
But signs of desperation are mounting weekly inside the caliphate, which shrank by another 12 percent in the first six months of 2016, according to a report last week by IHS Inc., an analysis and consulting firm.
A series of communiques issued in the Islamic State’s Syrian enclave last month closed down Internet cafes in one province and ordered the destruction of TVs and satellite dishes in another.
The orders, billed as an effort to eliminate a tool for “disseminating infidel beliefs,” effectively cut off access to news from the outside world.
‘Without any city or land’
More signals of a coming downfall are contained in statements issued by Islamic State officials over the past six weeks, a period that saw the group’s fighters retreating across multiple fronts, from Fallujah in central Iraq to the Syrian-Turkish border.
A remarkable editorial last month in al-Naba, the Islamic State’s weekly Arabic newsletter, offered a gloomy assessment of the caliphate’s prospects, acknowledging the possibility that all its territorial holdings could ultimately be lost. Just two years ago, jihadist leaders heralded the start of a glorious new epoch in the world’s history with the establishment of their Islamic “caliphate,” which at the time encompassed most of eastern Syria and a vast swath of northern and western Iraq, a combined territory roughly the size of Great Britain.
The editorial, titled, “The Crusaders’ Illusions in the Age of the Caliphate,” sought to rally the group’s followers by insisting that the Islamic State would continue to survive, even if all its cities fell to the advancing “crusaders” — the separate Western- and Russian-backed forces arrayed against them.
“The crusaders and their apostate clients are under the illusion that . . . they will be able to eliminate all of the Islamic State’s provinces at once, such that it will be completely wiped out and no trace of it will be left,” the article states. In reality, the group’s foes “will not be able to eliminate it by destroying one of its cities or besieging another of them, or by killing a soldier, an emir or an imam,” it says.
The editorial asserts that the “whole world . . . has changed” with the creation of a theocratic enclave that has “shown all of mankind what the true Islamic state is like.”
“If they want to achieve true victory — they will not, God willing — they will have to wait a long time: until an entire generation of Muslims that was witness to the establishment of the Islamic State and the return of the caliphate . . . is wiped out.”
The same themes were repeated in an otherwise upbeat sermon by the Islamic State’s official spokesman, Abu Muhammad al-Adnani, marking the start of Ramadan observances. Adnani’s missive attracted international attention because of its call for a global terrorism campaign during the Muslim holy month. But Adnani also appeared to be preparing his followers for heavy losses….

First, it should be known that one good way to defeat those cruel, vicious, malicious and murderous jihadist thugs who compose the brutal and deadly jihad entity ISIS is by the use of many very strong powers of militant might. That is hit them hard, hit hem long, keep on hitting them and don’t stop hitting them. Meaning take them down, put them down, keep them down and don’t let them rise up again. As Thomas Jefferson had, so well, stated “With every barbarous people…force is law. “Second, the jihadists of ISIS in their mad Islamic quest to establish a caliphate, with all the cruel, brutal and murdering violence that is part of it, will not respond the reason. For the Muslim fanatics who compose ISIS cannot understand logic, nor do they care about reason. Those jihadists of ISIS in their irrational unquestioning blind Islamic faith have and leave no room for reason. In this unreasoning blind Islamic drive the jihadist/Muslims who make up ISIS are a reminder of what Benjamin Franklin had printed in POOR RICHARD’S ALMANACK. Which is “The way to see by faith is to shut the eye of reason.”

If ISIS really does collapse , hopefully before this decade is over , then it’s good riddance to bad rubbish. .For ISIS is demonic murderous and destructive. As for the word destructive it means that the Islamic “state” is only strong and effective in destroying people and things . Such things as buildings ,art, literature, history ,etc. Furthermore, one of the reasons why the Muslims who compose ISIS are so much against Christians is that some Christians teach the Bible with its many doctrines to others. The Bible that is so very damaging to Islamic doctrine that the Muslim clerics sand strongly against the people obtaining Bible’s. For example, Islamic [Koranic] doctrine denies the Jesus is God. In other words Islam denies the Deity of Christ. Nevertheless, the Bible teaches “For in Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form.” Colossians 2:9. [N.I.V.] Moreover, the Jesus is God may further be seen in the Bible. As in, for example, John 1:1-3. Colossians 1:15-17. Romans 9:5. Second Peter 1:1. Titus 2:13. First John 5:20. In addition, for a person to further find out that Jesus is God all a she or he has to do in to compare the Old Testament with New Testament to see that Jesus is God. AS by comparing Isaiah 45:22, 23 with Philippians 2:5-11. Likewise by comparing Psalm 89:8,9 with Matthew 8:23-27. Will also confirm that Jesus is God. Also by comparing Psalm 62. 5-7.with First Corinthians 10:4. Just by comparing the New Testament books together will like show that Jesus is God .For example, comparing John 5:22. with Romans 14:12 shows the Deity of Christ. The list can go on but this should be enough for anyone who is willing to see, and not as those who Bible calls those who are willingly ignorant, II Peter 3:5., that Jesus is God. The imams and mullahs as well as the other apologists for Islam will try to “explain “ all this away by making the claim that the Bible had been corrupted by Christians, through time, and that’s why the Bible reads as it does. This claim they make very much underestimate the Power of God to preserve His Word and keep it safe and intact and away from the corruption of men. In conclusion, The Muslim clerics strongly dislike the Bile because the Bible greatly exposes the terrible doctrinal errors that Islam with the Koran as Islam’s foundation have concerning the nature of Jesus. Likewise the Bible exposes Islam as a false religion, Isaiah 8:20. Proverbs 14:12. All Muslims be they jihadist /ISIS Muslim or non-violent peaceful Muslims are invited to turn away for the false religion of Islam and come to and receive the real Jesus of the Bible. Who is the True Light to the world, John 8:12. and the only way to God the Father , John 14:6.
bernie says
It makes sense that religious Jews would disbelieve in the divinity of Jesus, since they (Jews) accept the Torah (what Christians call the Old Testament) but not the Gospels (New Testament). However, most Muslims claim to believe in both the Torah and the Gospels, yet they don’t seem to realize that the Qu’ran is often incompatible with those books.
Of course, there are many Muslims who at least respect the Hebrew moral code (You shall love your neighbor as yourself), and they should be commended for that. However, you have groups like I.S.and al-Qaeda who directly oppose and execrate that code, showing that their version of Islam is a total fraud.

No nation in history has come out ahead on a transaction with Islam. It doesn’t matter if ISIS can hold Raqqa, in fact it doesn’t matter if ISIS and an organization is destroyed. There would still be hundreds of millions of Moslems around, and that means Jihad. Add to that open immigration of Moslems into civilized countries, thanks to liberal delusion, and that’s a recipe for disaster on an historical scale. Perhaps a permanent, irreversible disaster.

A Multinational Caliphate will form in the Middle East.
Mohamed Bouazizi was trying to support his family as a street vendor when Tunisian police confiscated his vegetable cart and produce…In protest…he burned himself to death in an act that sparked a wave of protests leading to the toppling of Tunisia’s 26-year-old Ben Ali regime…so the story goes.
This set off a series of further protests across the Middle East in what some have called the Tunisian Wind…Did the Tunisian Wind become a Storm of Radical Islamism that will change the political and social landscape of the Middle East…Commentators struggle to find a context.
But do they recognize the likelihood…the danger…that more Islamist governments may be on the horizon…Islamist political philosophy advocates the rule of nations (and eventually the whole world…through conversion or conquest) by the many centuries of Sharia law built on the foundation of the Muslim book…the Qu’ran.
Frequently…when Muslim-majority nations have the opportunity to hold democratic elections to choose their government…they elect Islamist candidates…even when those candidates oppose the very democracy that allowed their election.
When voters in the Palestinian Authority territories chose members of the Palestinian Legislative Council…A plurality voted for Hamas…Since then…Hamas has gained strength among Palestinians…few believe that the organization is truly committed to democracy…Votes or not…it is assumed…Hamas will continue to press its agenda of Islamist theocracy and Sharia law…a Caliphate in miniature.
Iran is an Islamic republic…with an Islamic constitution…It wasn’t until the impeachment of secular President Abulhassan Banisadr…that clerical dominance in the Iranian regime became clear…Iran Strongly Influences Iraq…Syria…and Lebanon…and anywhere it can.
Recep Tayyip Erdogan…currently Prime Minister of Turkey…a radical Islamist…He once quipped (Democracy is like a streetcar…You ride it until you arrive at your destination and then you step off).
In Egypt…95 percent of Muslims said that it is good for Islam to play a large role in politics…80 percent said that it would be bad for Islam to play a small role in politics…It is little wonder that Muslims frequently vote for Islamist parties when they are permitted a choice.
Saudi Arabia…Kuwait…Bahrain…Yemen…the United Arab Emirates…Are Islamic Governments and have regional influence.
The term Caliphate means the dominion of a Caliph and refers to the system of government originally established under Islam…Under the Caliphate…the head of state is the Caliph who governs in accordance with Islamic law…also known as Sharia…a major event could cause most of these countries to elect a Caliph…and declare a Caliphate.
So…will the Tunisian Wind gain force and become an Islamist Storm…is it a major step to go from dictatorship to Sharia law…and an even to go from Sharia law to a Caliphate…but support for such a development seems widespread across the Middle East…Middle East use of democracy…is leading some in the West to envision Western-style democracies taking root…However…we should remember that under Sunni Islam…the Caliph is elected…A democratic restoration of the Caliphate may now be thinkable.
Many people today are unaware of the long history of violent conflict between Europe and the Islamic Caliphate.
If a Multinational Caliphate is established in the Middle East…it can have an effect on the collective identity of the Europeans…The trauma of those wars lies deep in the conscious of Europe’s history…It has been less than 300 years since Europe last faced the threat of Muslim invasion…a threat that was instrumental in the formation of a shared European identity throughout the Middle Ages…Now there is again a perceived and stated threat from Islamists…as Muslim extremists call for holy war and restoration of the Caliphate.
Hassan al-Banna…the founder of Egypt’s Muslim Brotherhood…wrote (Andalusia [the Muslim name for Spain]…Sicily…the Balkans…south Italy…and the Roman sea islands were all Islamic lands that have to be restored to the homeland of Islam…it is our right to restore the Islamic Empire its glory)…If the Islamic Caliphate is restored…it can have an effect on Europe…The religious winds that are blowing across the Middle East can blow across Europe as well.
For more than 30 years…an uneasy peace has been maintained between Egypt and Israel…But has it been a popular peace…We should remember that…because of his efforts for peace…Egypt’s Sadat was assassinated…by a group of Islamist nationalists associated with the Muslim Brotherhood…who are kept out of power…for now…by the Military leadership imposed on the country.
God prophesied that in the decades just prior to Christ’s return…the Jews will have returned to Judea and Jerusalem…where they will be opposed by the surrounding nations… “In that day I will make the governors of Judah like a firepan in the woodpile, and like a fiery torch in the sheaves; they shall devour all the surrounding peoples on the right hand and on the left, but Jerusalem shall be inhabited again in her own place—Jerusalem” (Zechariah 12:6)…In past decades…this remarkable prophecy has been fulfilled before our eyes.
The Bible reveals that later in this same time period…a great religio-political power will arise…in Europe….the same Europe (North of Jerusalem) that was threatened by attacks from the Caliphate for more than a thousand years…This power will be an alliance of nations or groups of nations…(Daniel 2:31–46)…This power will be involved in a treaty that will allow the Jews to resume their sacrifices somewhere at or around the Temple Mount (Daniel 9:27; 11:31; 2 Thessalonians 2:4).
Such a revival of this Jewish practice would galvanize Muslim opposition…yet preparations for those sacrifices are being made today by Orthodox Jews familiar with the ancient rituals.
Biblical prophecy also reveals that a power will arise…to the south of Jerusalem ( either Saudi Arabia or Egypt will have this caliph leadership which controls the whole Caliphate)…that will “push at” or provoke this powerful king of the north…The northern power will defeat this king of the south powerfully…and in the process Jerusalem will be overrun and occupied (Daniel 11:40–45).
Finally…when the Temple Mount sacrifices are stopped…the prophesied Great Tribulation will begin…culminating with the return of Jesus Christ…just 3 1/2 years after the tribulation begins.
So a Substantial Caliphate will form in the Middle East…it will cause a serious conflict…with a power far greater than its own…it will be completely defeated…so says the Bible.
Personally…I am Going with What the Bible says.
TheOldOligarch says
Well, it was always pretty stupid of them to start trying to take and hold territory, it means they can be fought conventionally and are susceptible to defeats like this. “… a shadowy and diffuse network with branches and cells on at least three continents.”
Or, more precisely, branches and cells popping up wherever there are Mohammedan countries and Mohammedan colonies within otherwise non-Mohammedan countries.
Just like Hamas and Hezbollah and Islamic Jihad and Al Qaeda and Al Shabaab and the Ikhwan and Fethullah Gulen and Tablighi Jamaat and Hizb-ut-Tahrir and the rest of the alphabet-soup of mohammedan jihad-waging and jihad-inciting organisations.
They can’t operate and are not present *only* where there are *no* Mohammedans to act both as support network and human shields.
If the Belgians surprise-searched every mosque (and all associated premises/ institutions) in Molenbeek – and for good measure, every other known mosque in the country – and razed to the ground every one that was discovered to have ammo and/ or traces of explosives and/ or traces of illegal drugs, or stolen goods, or contraband, or faked documents, or suspicious stashes of real or counterfeit cash, the ability of entities like Islamic State to recruit and operate in Belgium would be reduced significantly.
Got Muslims? Got Jihad. The ‘flavour’ and ‘brand’ of jihad might differ – in Israel it’s mostly Hamas etc, in Kenya it’s Al-shabaab, in Philippines it’s MILF and Abu Sayyaf – but all that is perfeclty irrelevant, those things are just *jihad* ‘crystallising’ naturally out of the ‘saturated solution’ that is the surrounding suffused-with-Islam mohammedan population.
My advice to places like Iceland – and there are a number of other obscure and/ or small countries – Greenland and *some* S American majority-Christian countries, *some* little Caribbean countries, *some* little countries in Oceania – that currently have very few Mohammedans present, runs thus: You want to get through the next century in relative peace and prosperity? THEN – DO NOT ALLOW *any* more identifiable mohammedans into your country and DO NOT give citizenship status to the few who’ve already gotten in; *discourage* those from remaining and do *everything* to cause them to leave. And if the few Mohammedans already present have built a mosque: beware! Watch carefully and at the first excuse you get, surprise-raid-and-search it; find anything, er, odd or suspicious… raze the thing to the ground and resume the land on which it stands. And don’t allow a new mosque, anywhere.
Further advice? – make friends with the Israelis, encourage Jewish Israeli businesspeople to invest in your country (this is a major win-win), set up cultural/ intellectual/ academic exchange programs, and make sure your military and intelligence people liaise with the Israeli military and intelligence. The Jews of Israel have survived and held their own so far for sixty plus years in a very, very dangerous neighbourhood full of aggressive mohammedans and they have a lot to teach (but you can also see, from their experience, how unpleasant it is to have a large mohammedan Fifth Column resident within the gates; learn from *that*, to not allow such a fifth column to get established inside *your* gates. If you don’t want mohammedans stabbing you in the back as you walk down the street… which is what is happening in Israel [or, worse, mohammedans breaking into a little girl’s bedroom and stabbing her multiple times as she lies in her bed] you had better not have mohammedans living in your country).

The only reasons that the Islamic State is in trouble is because a few million of their flock have decided that colonizing Europe is a more profitable and lucrative future and a lot better for their health and that the Russians came in and massively weakened them. Who has the better life: a welfare sucking drug dealing and pimping criminal jihadi in the UK or Germany — or a jihadi always on high alert in some desert rat hole town in Iraq or Syria that could get bombed any day by the Russians? Losing their Caliphate may actually aid the growth of ISIS in the long term. If they are evicted from their claimed territory by the Crusaders and apostate muslims then that becomes a rallying cry to “retake the Caliphate”. Secondly by not having to defend territory like a conventional army,as they do now (which underarmed as they are puts them at a disadvantage) means they can switch to terror attacks in the West, which are much easier to pull off successfully and have high propaganda value. One thing is certain, ISIS will simply evolve into a slightly different beast, it’s not going away.

I’m loving the insight of the comments! Wow.
The US, Russia, UK and Isreal really need to come together and stay focused, but for that the US needs a strong leader. I would love to see Trump, Putin, Netanyahu and May on world TV announcing that a coalition has been formed to hunt down Jihadists where ever they be and apply pressure to the Muslim world to help reach that end. NO more PC, no immigration, no pandering and no appeasement. They’d turn over Jihadists alright at least for awhile.
Jihad will always be somewhere in some form and Fitzah? Is it? Is the chief problem among Muslims who won’t betray a Jihadist or their plots even if they knew of them since they feel it betrays the Islamic filth uh… faith. A new approach might change some of their (Muslims) minds or maybe they will come out to fight once and for all. We just can’t give them a choice we must fight on our terms at our choosing. Another Obama failure in leadership.
We can pound Jihadists back to their caves and suppress them which would definitely be a victory but to keep them there allied powers have to stop cross promising things to the moderate Muslim world and pissing multiple sides off when we abort or go back on deals. It destabilizes our ability to keep a clear channel open into that world. At this point we must follow through and Obama has been anything but consistent. I think we can bring our full attention to Iran at that point as well.
We could turn our resources to homeland problems with ‘stealth’ Jihad and also put political pressure on the Muslim alphabet soup that has infected every country it touches. Still we’ll have to fight and fight.
Islam creates the platform for all this trouble, a total pain in the a… to be sure. I can’t stand for it, me and mine are always ready but I’m not getting any younger.

“I would love to see Trump, Putin, Netanyahu and May on world TV announcing that a coalition has been formed to hunt down Jihadists where ever they be and apply pressure to the Muslim world to help reach that end. ”
Seeing how not only Putin dealt with an islamic insurgency by giving the rebel leader his own fiefdom in exchange for obedience and how he holds on to power by claiming that Europeans and Americans are out to get Russia and only he stands in their way, as well as sponsoring anti-Western (and especially anti-US) propaganda that would make Stalin look like a flag-carrying tea-partier by comparison, I’d say the chances of such an alliance are slim to none.

So your saying there is a chance? 😉 Only with Trump and we’d have to take things at face value. Putin is their leader so no choice really except to exclude Russia altogether. Already been doing that, look where we are now fighting separately against the same foe. I do get what you are saying though about Putin and how he deals. Cheers!

Brexit won against all odds, didn’t it? 🙂

And May is more concerned about keeping peaceful Anti-Jihadists Robert Spencer and Pamela Geller out of Britain than Jihad terrorists.
Not trying to rain on your parade, though.
I would *love* to see Israel, Russia, Europe, and the rest of the West come together against Jihad!

I suspect May will start facing criticism and pressure from the opposition for not having won elections after the first pebble on the road. The moral thing to do would be to call for another general election, but it seems the Queen does not have the power to do so.

mlhefa. WE (you ) are son of God? WHATEVER? EVERYTHING THAT PEOPLE LIKE YOU “REPRESENTS THE DEVIL (SATAN). THEREFORE, ALL OF YOU ARE SONS OF CAMELS, GOATS, DONKEYS OF THE WORLD.

To mlhefa- As per your 5:59 am post of July 15, 2016, if you claim to be ISIS and ISIS is “Son of God” then you are all out delusional or you are really an inbred retarded person. No “Son of God” would behave and act the way ISIS monsters do. ISIS are the sons and daughters of Satan the devil. And if you worship the devil by doing evil deeds to men and women on Earth, you will be with Satan the devil for all eternity. It is your choice mlhefe.
