Jihad Watch

Exposing the role that Islamic jihad theology and ideology play in the modern global conflicts

Leftist pastor behind Dallas Black Lives Matter protest wrote of becoming Muslim

Jul 9, 2016 12:59 pm By Robert Spencer

The hard-Left Islamochristian “Rev.” Jeff Hood wrote this in November 2015:

When Jesus bound his body and ultimately became the stranger in Matthew 25:35, he left no doubt that he was calling us to do the same. Since the Paris attacks, Muslims have been strangerized over and over. From calls for registration to violent language around refugees, the rhetoric has grown worse and worse with every day. Jesus is bound to the stranger. Jesus becomes the stranger. In our Islamophobic society, I have no question that Jesus is so intimately incarnated with and connected to our Muslim friends that he has become one. If we want to walk with Jesus in this moment of extreme oppression and marginalization, we will too.

Amen.

With his Salafi beard, Hood certainly has a distinctly Islamic look, even down to the scrupulous avoidance of isbaal:

Jeff-Hood1

Jeff Hood

Could his call to Leftist Christians to accept Islam include an acceptance of the violence that is manifested in Islamic jihad attacks, and at the Dallas anti-police protest that Hood led?

More background on the hate-filled “Rev.” Jeff Hood: “Meet the Leftist Reverend Behind the Dallas Black Lives Matter Protest,” by Jen Lawrence, Breitbart, July 8, 2016:

The lead organizer of the Dallas protest where snipers opened fire on police officers has made several disturbing comments on his social media. A Breitbart News review of Jeff Hood’s internet footprint revealed regular posts about the apocalypse, violent retribution to police, and Hood even recently posted about the 2013 death of a self proclaimed “social justice warrior” who committed suicide by lighting himself on fire in front of a shopping mall in Texas.

Video of Hood speaking on camera just after the attack surfaced on social media where Hood talks about “leading the protest.”…

Breitbart Texas’ Brandon Darby tweeted about protest organizer Jeff Hood wanting to “create a space for anger and rage” at the Dallas protest….

Reverend Hood closely follows police shootings and state executions and regularly prays for divine retribution for police, like this post in response to a police shooting in Dallas from April 24, 2015:

For now, the blood of black men will continue to roll down driveways, streets and sidewalks with impunity. However, God is not mocked. The judgment is coming. Those police who continue to spill the blood of black men will be held accountable…for black blood matters just as much as any other blood to God.

Also, this post from May 11, 2015:

“The police are always prepared for a gunfight. We shouldn’t be surprised when they actually get one.”…

This post of yours is as if the words of a Charles Manson, before any murders were committed are news worthy just because Manson spoke about Jesus Christ in some context. Hood never met any of the shooters, and there is little to associate and connect the two other than shared disgruntled demeanors and voices. Hood is an agitator without practical solutions in mind, at the present time, and maybe never, …, ? If you were to find resources to stay focused on the particular quirks inside the minds of the men who govern and administer the governments of the many Islamist nations in the world, perhaps my first comment wouldn’t’ve appeared offensive. Hood is small potatoes compared to those real rat bastards governing Iran, Saudi Arabia, and Turkey. The post here about Hood just strikes me as …? a tangent; odd.

        So it goes.

I’m not sure it’s a tangent in the sense of being of small concern Amy. It’s a tangent from jihad through explicit war, sure, but the Soviet subversion tactics were similar tangents from the Soviet goal of political domination.

Let’s take stock. BLM is a left wing attempt to subvert police authority. BLM is led by young, ignorant, angry collectivists with nebulous “official” goals.

Part of the problem with “movements” united around something trivial like a hashtag is that it’s hard to pin down who they are and what they want. Compare #BLM with the #altright, which, I’m sure many on the right know, is a singular example of a motley crew…implausible bedfellows can get united over hashtags.

But one pattern that has emerged in the ranks of the BLM is that many aren’t shy about using and advocating violence to achieve something. This penchant for violence sets BLM apart from most other hashtag crusaders. They are also set apart by their anti-intellectual resistance to debate or discussion. The act of questioning their ideas makes you a racist; no need for debate when it’s easier for the mob to shout you down. All of this is the way the left works. Disagreement is met with censorship and name calling, perhaps learning about a new “phobia” you’re suffering from.

Enter Islam. If one wants to damage a civilization, one can take up arms and die fighting it (and jihadis do sometimes), but one can also use existing machinery that is already aimed against that civilization. Enter people like Mr. Hood, a naive left wing boy with a racial-religious identity crisis who speaks for a movement it’s unfashionable to criticize and has already said that Jesus is a born-again Muslim–the perfect ally.

Is Mr.Hood small potatoes? Yeah, I’m pretty sure he doesn’t even lift. But have you ever heard of Emil Maurice? Maybe you have, but many haven’t. We’ve all heard of the national socialist party of Germany though. The big issue isn’t whether Hood is personally inciting violence-if he does, it’s a crime and he’ll be dealt with, one hopes. The big issue is that existing subversive movements, if not already led by real bad guys, are effective entering wedges for real bad guys. Hood’s movement meets several desirable criteria; immunity to dialogue and debate, a taste for violence, young and pliable soft-minded supporters, a pre-existing sympathy for “oppressed Muslims” etc. A little dab of religious dogma, and one could have himself a nice little army.

Oh yeah, and Islamists have already started singing the praises of BLM…so there’s that.

A search of Amy’s (occasional) past comments pulls up some generic criticism of Islam. Amy’s past comments have an overall (broad brush) approach using standard anti-jihad. They are not bad, just not convincing given Amy’s first post beginning with disrespectful familiarity of Bob as the address to follow with a criticism and then Amy’s follow-up second comment with that horrendous and duplicitous false analogy.

My guess is that Amy is a clever troll working at Huff Po or the SPLC.

Oh, the sophistry! This is not about speaking “about Jesus Christ in some context”, this is about a very specific set of statements in a very specific context. If someone had pointed at something CM wrote about JC before the killings and said “this guy got it all wrong and he’s potentially dangerous”, what do you think it would happen after the killings? Would people go like “well, you were right, that statement was a red flag and we should be on the lookout for similar kinds of speech from now on”? Or would they go like “shame on you for trying to monday-morning quarterback the day before the game. You should have waited until someone dies to point out how what he wrote was wrong and that he was potentially dangerous”?

The fact that “hard-Left Islamochristian” Jeff would consider becoming a Muslim proves that to him Jesus had always remained a STRANGER. He wishes all others to put appeasement to Muslims as our top priority.

His quotation of Mt. 25.35 is completely out of context, where it merely means that hospitality to strangers is a virtue to be practiced. Interesting that when he speaks of Jesus being bound, it is something from Isaiah 53 and all those passages which speak of his giving himself over to death on the cross for us–a doctrine hateful to the unholy Qur’an.

I went to Mt. 25:35 and wondered what this turkey is talking about. It is, as you mentioned, a passage about being benevolent to others. And yes, I wonder if this very underwhelming person is aware that it is blasphemy in Islam to maintain Jesus was crucified. In fact, I’ve long thought that this particular repudiation by Islam of an enormously important Christian event in and or itself should discredit Mo’s creed in the eyes of informed Christians, never mind all the other anti-Christian stuff that does. BTW, I think the sine qua non word here is “informed.”

Hope you and yours are doing well. Take care, Kepha.

The “Reverend” is trying to square a circle. Islam and Christianity are not compatible – the very best that can be said of Islam is that it is a bizarre notion that Jesus is not the final Prophet, Priest, and King, but that He is the last prophet before the final one, Mohammed.

Why any Christian would see any need for Islam, why Jesus is not enough for a Christian, why any Christian would think that a reprehensible individual like Mohammed would be greater than Jesus, as Islam teaches, is beyond me.

A couple of years ago, an Episcopal woman priests was defrocked for claiming to be both Christian and Muslim.

I *completely* agree, Greyhound Fancier …

And this great answer from “Got Questions” regarding what the Bible reveals about muhammad:

Question: “Does the Bible prophesy the coming of Muhammad?”

          Answer: http://www.gotquestions.org/Muhammad-Bible.html

          Excerpt:

“In conclusion, the Bible nowhere specifically predicts the coming of Muhammad. Muhammad was not the prophet Moses predicted, and Muhammad was not the Counselor Jesus predicted. Since the message of Muhammad contradicts the message of Jesus and the Bible on many points, the only biblical prophecy that would apply to the coming of Muhammad would be Matthew 24:11, ‘And many false prophets will appear and deceive many people…’”

          Jul 9, 2016 at 7:32 pm

Asserted by Greyhound Fancier: “Islam and Christianity are not compatible…..”

I completely agree even though I am an agnostic.

Agnostics like myself are extra careful of asserting things because we think that extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence. We do not rely on faith at all (a necessity if one is to be religious and this is not meant as a criticism but merely as an analysis).

In any case, and speaking here not as an agnostic but just as a presumably rational human being (hope I’m not pressing the matter about my presumed rationality too much here, though I would aver that it too should be questioned since my holding otherwise would be itself hypocritical), I see no way, NO WAY, that an informed Christian can respect Islam. I do see how an informed Christian can respect sundry other faiths, Judaism especially, but also Hinduism, Buddhism, Taoism, Zoroastrianism, et al. But for a Christian to respect Islam is, in effect, a route, however unwittingly, to theological contradiction of the most egregious kind.

If any Christian out there would like to argue why I am wrong on this specific point, I would very much welcome such argument. I have put this challenge to Christians many times before, here at JW, at other websites, with friends, acquaintances and strangers, and to date it has never been met. Never. I think the reason why is wrapped up with the fact it cannot be met. Ever.

I just saw the Fox video of his statements before the BLM march, and you are exactly right, Wellington. He was even praising Wright and saying, ” G– D—-n White America.”

You know, that same White America that offered welfare for support and Affirmative Action for educational and employment opportunity for more than 25 years. Some took it seriously and made something of their lives and some didn’t. I had a professional black work associate who thought these programs undermined the value of his self-made accomplishments. I was shocked by that until I thought about it for a while and realized he was right. Any future interviewer would think he had help from these programs.

None the less, it has lifted millions out of poverty and frankly, we do see those who have strived as equals. The current POTUS would not be in office if America, in general, was really racist toward blacks.

The worst thing that could happen for the black community is to be conjoined with Islamic Jihad proponents because segregation is at the heart of Islam.

      • Wellington says

        Jul 9, 2016 at 5:51 pm

A very good friend of mine, Westman, whose brother attended Harvard and who roomed with an Hispanic for the years he was there said that this Hispanic conveyed to him on several occasions that he wasn’t sure if he got into Harvard on his merit or because of being Hispanic and that this bothered him very much. Also, there is an anti-quota where affirmative action is concerned and that involves Asian-Americans. If merit only were the criteria, even more, perhaps far more, Asian-Americans would be found at the elite colleges and universities in the US. Finally, I think it important for all to know that Obama is the first black elected to the highest office in the land by a majority white nation.

I would argue that America is the LEAST racist country on the planet. If one is non-white in America and comes from an in tact family and is motivated there is nothing about white America that will stop such a person from succeeding in business, education, law, medicine, politics, et al. Nothing. And yet the narrative remains, perpetrated by the Left, that America is a racist country, thus tending to prove what Napoleon opined about history, that it is a pack of lies agreed upon.

If one is black and an American in our time, they should thank their lucky stars that they are. To the extent that black America is oppressed it is so by its own aggregate behavior, such as massive out-of-wedlock birth, self-pity, way too much reliance on the federal government, reverse racism which breeds cynicism and allows one to conclude that the reason that they did not succeed is not their fault, and other errors along these lines that have nothing to do with white racism. To the great credit of black conservatives, they get all this, but unfortunately they remain a small minority of blacks in America. Damn shame.

“To the extent that black America is oppressed it is so by its own aggregate behavior…”

I always enjoy your posts, Wellington. How are you today? Feeling cynical, myself.

If I may comment, at the risk of straying further off topic (though in the end it all relates to the counter-jihad, eh?), your list of “aggregate behaviors” must themselves have a cause.

Why, for instance, is black America plagued with single motherhood? (Of the destructive behaviors you mention, this one is fundamental.) Does “blackness” itself cause out-of-wedlock births?

Earlier in the 20th century, American blacks were more likely to be married than American whites (as pointed out by Walter Williams and Charles Murray, if memory serves).

Black single-motherhood increased with the expansion of a welfare state that disincentivized marriage. Today, about 70% of American blacks are raised by single mothers — a leading predictor of poverty, criminality, and… single motherhood. The figure is higher in the cities, where two-parent families are an oddity and high schools offering daycare are common.

Did the federal government destroy the black family deliberately? Elements in government do intentionally weaken individual responsibility in order to increase government responsibility — the two concepts being opposed in a zero-sum game — and the black family fell.

White society is falling apart, too. Out-of-wedlock pregnancies, which a generation ago carried with them everywhere a stigma, are now a badge of honor in all but the politest society.

Can American Civilization survive the family? Mobs in the streets of Ferguson and Baltimore, and a prison system bulging with fatherless boys, argue resoundingly in the negative.

Mitch: Thanks for your reply. I see two causes above all: 1) modern liberalism, call it leftism if you like; and 2) secularism.

For years now I have said that if 99% of adult black Americans woke up the next day committed Ronald Reagan conservatives, this would do more than anything else to reverse the social pathologies that plague so many of America’s black communities. Modern liberalism has provided black America the welfare state, grievance mongering and the idea that if a black fails it’s whitey’s fault. This nonsense has had dire results. Self-reliance and taking responsibility for one’s actions is key for any group of Americans to succeed. Just look at Jewish and Asian Americans for confirmation here, both of whom overwhelmingly form in tact families and are quite self-reliant——-and thus very successful.

While not personally religious, I think religion important for societies as a whole (as long as it’s not Islam). Individuals within a society can live an ethical life without religion but the society as a whole I think needs a religious framework. Couple secularism with the affluence found in Western nations and it’s a lethal combination. It produces ennui, as Dennis Prager has observed, and unfulfilled lives. I’m all for affluence but for most folks it needs to be accompanied by enlightened religious belief. You know, many of the Founding Fathers were themselves personally skeptical of Christian tenets, examples being Jefferson and Franklin, but all thought religion important as a way of instilling character in the body politic. A document like the Northwest Ordinance of 1787 and confirmed by the First Congress in 1789 mentions as much.

Well, these are my thoughts in summary form. Take care.

i think U hit the nail on the head there: massive out-of-wedlock birth rate. every study of which i have read about the children of broken (and never-existing) homes indicates that regardless of the race of the child, his chances of succeeding in life are greatly reduced by not having two loving parents. let me emphasize that; RACE DOES NOT MATTER STATISTICALLY.

and why is it that the unwed birth rate in most black communities is as high as 70% to 80%? look to the leftist agenda to hand out money to mothers with children and no fathers present. at a time when there really was a lot of racism (although declining), rather than encouraging the State to critically examine every applicant for aid, the left decided it would be better to throw money at the problem. and of course, black people did what ANYBODY would do, which is to grab the free money.

except that it wasn’t free; it encouraged the breakup of families. daniel patrick moynihan, a DEMOCRAT from new york who later served in the senate, led a study published in 1965 that highlighted the damage done. he was pilloried by the left for “blaming the victim.” all *real* studies since have confirmed his findings.

thus, the left callously disregarded the results of what they had created; whether or not their motives were pure in the beginning, they have never wavered in continuing the damage, because the “racist” club is just too powerful a weapon to give up. never mind that the lives of millions have been f**ked up.

Isa (the Muslim Jesus) breaks the cross and ends the jizya, which means there is no more protection for all the false “Christians” (Muslims are the real Christians) and their option is convert (“revert” to Islam) or die, only. It is Christians who are killed and Christianity that is ended. The Muslims also kill all the Jews, down to the last one hiding behind the talking rocks and trees.

There is a much better prophecy, however, the snake that is Islam crawls back to the hole from whence it came:

      Sahih Bukhari
Belief returns and goes back to Medina like a snake…3.30.100
      Volume 3, Book 30, Number 100:

      Narrated Abu Huraira:
Allah’s Apostle said, “Verily, Belief returns and goes back to Medina as a snake returns and goes back to its hole (when in danger).”

      Sahih Muslim
Islam was initiated as something strange, and it would revert to its (old position) of being strange, and it would concentrate between the two mosques just as the serpent crawls back into its hole… 1.0270
      Book 001, Number 0270:

It is narrated on the authority of Abu Huraira that the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) said: Islam initiated as something strange, and it would revert to its (old position) of being strange. So good tidings for the stranger.

The Islamic faith will recede to Medina just as the serpent crawls into its hole… 1. 0271, 0272

      Book 001, Number 0271:

It is narrated on the authority of Ibn ‘Umar (‘Abdullah b. ‘Umar) that the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) observed: Verily Islam started as something strange and it would again revert (to its old position) of being strange just as it started, and it would recede between the two mosques just as the serpent crawls back into its hole.
      Book 001, Number 0272:

It is narrated on the authority of Abu Huraira that the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) said: Verily the faith would recede to Medina just as the serpent crawls back into its hole.

Hood: “… I have no question that Jesus is so intimately incarnated with and connected to our Muslim friends that he has become one. If we want to walk with Jesus in this moment of extreme oppression and marginalization, we will too.”

There is a Bible quote that applies well to Hood: “Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.” Matt 7:22-23.

The “strangerization” of Muslims is simply because Hood’s Islamic “bretheren” have been so busy committing mahem that no one can ignore it or its theogical basis any longer.

Hood is a Leon Trotsky of cultural relativism, glowing in membership of the jihad politburo. He seems unaware that when his usefulness has expired, the Stalin mind of Islam will discard him.

Megyn Kelly asked Rev. Jeff Hood upfront if he regretted making the incendiary statements.

Hood said that if he could do it over again he would have chosen different words, but that he was trying to express the anger that was being felt after officer-related deaths this week in Lousiana and Minnesota.

They cannot foresee the violence that Islamic supremacists are PROMISING US they will commit! The Leftarded elites seem to be able to learn about Islam only when the terrorism comes close to their homes.

“the blood of black men will continue to roll down driveways, streets and sidewalks with impunity.”

…but…but blood isn’t the type of thing that it makes sense to say is acting with “impunity”. This is one of those situations where you can tell that a man has heard a word used before (because he’s using it in one of its common contexts) but his education doesn’t quite allow him to apply the word correctly (because he has misunderstood key logical requirements of the word).

This is the left; ignorant pseudo-intellects stitching together catch phrases they’ve learned through indoctrination, without considering the meaning of what they are saying. It’s worth remembering this every time a leftist’s comments are incoherent. Even *they* aren’t too sure what they’re saying.

Don’t confuse this with “grammar Nazism”–the word “ain’t” ain’t bad. If your words are confused, your theories will be incoherent.

Well, here are some black spokesmen the shooter liked, at least according to his Facebook.

Black Power Political Organization, which called for “sniper assassins” and took credit for Dallas {“Do you like the work of our Assassins?…more will be Assassinated in The Coming Days!”) and their page only was just taken down. Persons of interest?

Another group he “liked” was Black Riders Liberation Party, which posted:
      “R.I.P. Micah…X…Johnson !!”
and declares, “We assert the right of self-defense by whatever means necessary, and reserve the right of maximum retaliation against our racist oppressors, no matter what the odds against us are.

From here on in, if we must die anyway, we will die fighting back and we will not die alone! We intend to see that our racist oppressors also get a taste of death!”

“Justice will not be served by a pig getting fired from the force only to get hired in another city, county or state. Justice will not be served by a change in the laws. Justice for a stolen life can only be served in bloodshed! Marcus Garvey teaches us that, “Power is the only argument that satisfies man”. We must tap into the power we have to seize state power. It’s time for black people to reject ‘Black Lives Matter’ and form a truly inclusive movement that can properly address police brutality without devolving into divisive race-baiting.

“BLM has completely betrayed the example set by Martin Luther King”??

Um, not so fast. In reality, BLM has merely ABANDONED the example set by MLK, Jr., in favor of the chaotic method preferred by the Black Panthers and revolutionary leftists. Yet MLK was not nearly so different from the Black Panthers and blood thirsty leftists as his hagiorgraphers would like us to believe.

MLK made no secret of his “Dream” for government to carry out a vast program of bullying and looting against Caucasians. The beneficiaries were to be colored people, as he put it to avoid being accused of favoring Africans over other nonwhites. He made his criminal agenda abundantly clear in writings which were published after his death. See, for example, ” ‘In a Single Garment of Destiny’: A Global Vision of Justice “. MLK made it clear also, however, that Africans, both in the Americas and in Africa, were to enjoy preferential access to the loot obtained. Since it was always King’s desire for government to carry out the bullying and looting, there was never any good reason to doubt that his Dream required a vast increase of “police brutality”.

So how should we understand BLM? Recall, for a moment, the situation in which it arose. Senator Hope & Change dropped plenty of hints that the usual savages would be rewarded with power and loot in exchange for their votes, and the hypocritical savages responded enthusiastically, knowing all along that “police brutality” would be carried out against the people whom they fear and loathe. The Africans also knew that it would be safer for them to hide behind the law while police, prosecutors, courts, tax collectors, bureaucrats, and Democrats committed their crimes for them on the pretext of “social justice”. Thus was Hope & Change elected, but the office of the presidency imposed practical and theoretical limitations upon H&C. Blacks soon became frustrated at what they imagined was an unjustifiably slow pace, and so the hypocrites returned to their favorite old attitudes and behaviors.

So, do you see? BLM in no way betrayed MLK, Jr., a Baptist demogogue who deserves no less than any Black Panther to be counted as a bigot and criminal. Now, since the vast majority of American Africans supported the very “police brutality” which they now pretend to oppose, they deserve to be forever regarded as hypocrites, low lives, and incorrigible criminals.

Let us remind the African in America that he and most of his bitter ilk were treated for far too long with far more grace, more kindness, and more dignity than they ever deserved. Therefore, it is time to arrange the justified, overwhelming punishment which befits all such beastish, prideful evil. If that punishment involves the exception clause of the 13th amendment, then so be it. Let evil be shackled, whipped, and made productive in service to the civilized and to the good.

One thing I have learned from years of reading the Bible is that Christians can be sinful and foolish. I hope for his own sake, Jeff Hood repents. Over a good many yearss, the good Lord, in his merciful application of the Spirit as I study his Word, has shown me a lot of places where I must repent and change. So if Rev Hood sez Islam is an extension or a realization of Christianity, then that’s the narrative. He’s definitely a liberal extortionist – the Matthew quote seems to imply we should invite all muslims into our homes, because they are “strangers” to us, and so they should be pre-judged, if at all, as innocent until proven guilty.

However, Jesus’ recommendation wasn’t a command – we have no responsibility or obligation to enslave our selves to others’ problems; no duty to spend our money on the lazy or unfortunate.

And we already know what the Qur’an demands of them: that they extort, enslave, and murder us for our “crime” of not-being muslims gang members ourselves.

So their evil plan is nothing “strange” to us, no great mystery: they aren’t potential innocents, but probable assassins.

Jesus wants to set us free from any oppression …

One thing overlooked by most commenters is the HOLY WAR between Christ and Satan. Every human being is under the power of Satan by nature.Only those regenerated by the Holy Spirit belong to Christ. They are fighting Christ cause and are engaged in greater or lesser degree, warriors in His kingdom. all unconverted ones are enlisted by Satan trying to destroy Christianity. Believers in his army are doing Satans work which was announced by the Lord in the fall. This antithesis continues unabated till the last day. The difference is God’s children are, more or less, knowingly lead by the Spirit, while Satans helpers are often unaware of his influence. Nevertheless under the control of NWO, Illuminati, Bilderberger, Putin, or Obama and his minions, they are all filled with rebellion and enmity against God’s dominion. Period.
