Exposing the role that Islamic jihad theology and ideology play in the modern global conflicts

Raymond Ibrahim: ‘Muslim Grievances’ Responsible for Terrorism in France, Says Reuters

Jul 19, 2016 9:53 am By Raymond Ibrahim

Nice mourning

After the Nice, France terror attack—where approximately 84 people were killed and hundreds injured—Western “mainstream media” is again in full damage control mode, trying to rescue “the narrative,” namely, that Islam has nothing to do with terrorism.

Take one Reuters report by Tom Heneghan, titled “Foreign and domestic policies make France ‘most threatened country.’”  Its very first opening sentence cites terrorist propaganda:

After two militant attacks in Paris killed 17 people in January last year, Islamic State’s French-language magazine Dar al-Islam appeared with the Eiffel Tower on the cover and the headline “May Allah curse France”….

Why Muslims would call on Allah’s wrath against France is the theme of the entire report, and here Heneghan leaves no stone unturned—even managing to invoke the Crusades—in his attempt to portray France as “aggrieving” Muslims:

The reasons that make France a prime target for radical Islamist groups range from its present-day military operations all the way to – at least in Islamic State’s propaganda – the Crusades from the 11th to 15th centuries when Christians battled Muslims in the Middle East.

Regarding France’s foreign policies, Heneghan writes:

After the Paris attacks [Nov. 2015, 130 killed], Islamic State said France and other countries fighting alongside it would remain threatened as long as they pursued “their crusader campaign” in Syria and Iraq….

“France is gripped by an irrational and deaf hatred against Islam and Muslims that pushed it to the head of the coalition against the caliphate,” Dar al-Islam wrote last year, referring to the territory controlled by Islamic State in Syria and Iraq.

Aside from the fact that Heneghan almost entirely relies on and spreads ISIS/Islamic propaganda, the purport of all this is that Muslims are angry with France because it is warring against ISIS.  Here we encounter the first conundrum: if, as we are repeatedly told by mainstream media, ISIS—that terrorist organization that beheads, enslaves, rapes, crucifies, and burns people alive—has “nothing to do with Islam,” why are Muslims angry at France’s efforts against ISIS to the point of launching terrorist attacks against its civilians?

The only way to accept that regular Muslims—such as Mohamed Lahouaiej Bouhlel, the non-ISIS affiliated perpetrator of last week’s Nice attack—are aggrieved at France’s war on ISIS is by first accepting that such Muslims identity and support the worst human rights abusing state of the 21st century (as several polls indicate).

On France’s domestic front, Heneghan finds a number of other factors and policies to aggrieve Muslims:

The country, which has Europe’s largest Muslim minority, also has a steadfastly secular culture that sidelines religion in public life, typified by a ban on Islamic face veils in public and headscarves in state schools and the civil service.

Supporters say this encourages a common French identity but critics say it alienates non-Christian minorities, who see many vestiges of France’s traditional Catholicism – such as official holidays for Christmas and Easter – but little leeway for them.

This is a misrepresentation of facts.  All religious symbols—not just Muslim ones like the face veil—are banned in France’s public schools.  Devout Christians are banned from wearing conspicuous crucifixes.  And although there are many more Christians than Muslims in France, they do not commit terrorist acts (perhaps because Christianity, unlike Islam, comports well with secular rule).

At any rate, by claiming that France “alienates non-Christian minorities”—when indigenous Christians face the same restrictions from the secular state—Heneghan continues disseminating Islamic propaganda:

Some in the five-million-strong Muslim community, about 8 percent of the population, complain of discrimination and many Muslims live in poorer neighborhoods in the large cities.

They feel France is unfairly tough on their religion….

The poor babies…  If it’s so bad, why do they go there? Why do they stay there?  Why do pious Muslims willingly migrate to a staunchly secular nation? Why don’t they feel aggrieved at and hold responsible their own corrupt Muslim countries of origin—and terrorize them instead?

Whatever one makes of the claims of this report, the facts remain: “Terrorism … is a threat that weighs heavily on France and will continue doing so for a long time,” Prime Minister Manuel Valls said after the Nice attack.  “Today, France is clearly the most threatened country,” the head of the General Directorate for Internal Security also declared. “The question about the threat is not to know ‘if’ but ‘when’ and ‘where’.”

The reasons for this have little to do with anti-French Islamic propaganda and everything to do with Islam’s presence in France, a non-Muslim, “infidel” nation.

Consider: If Muslims are terrorizing France due to social and political “grievances,” why are they also terrorizing and slaughtering other non-Muslim minorities who have no political power to “aggrieve” anyone?  For example, a 2016 statistical report found that Muslims—not ISIS, just regular Muslims—are responsible for persecuting Christians in 41 of the 50 worst nations to be Christian in.

In these nations, Muslim governments openly discriminate against Christians—churches are banned from being built—while Muslim mobs openly persecute, abduct, extort, enslave, and rape them with impunity.   And they all justify their persecution by citing Islamic doctrines that are unequivocally hostile to non-Muslims.

Yet here are Muslims who are allowed to build mosques and granted equality before the law complaining because “They feel France is unfairly tough on their religion” and because they “see many vestiges of France’s traditional Catholicism – such as official holidays for Christmas and Easter,” to quote Reuters.

Unlike the disparity between the indigenous Europeans and their Muslim guests, the Christians being persecuted by Muslims are often identical to their persecutors in race, ethnicity, national identity, culture, and language. There is no political dispute, no land dispute. Most significantly, these disempowered Christian minorities certainly have no political power—meaning there are no Muslim “grievances” either.

So why are they hated and hounded? Because they are Christians—infidels—and that’s the ultimate reason the French are being terrorized.

The French and all Western people—indeed, all non-Islamic people—would do well to remember what James Lorimer, a theoretician of legal jurisprudence, wrote back in 1884 in his Institutes of the Law of Nations:

So long as Islam endures, the reconciliation of its adherents, even with Jews and Christians [“People of the Book”], and still more with the rest of mankind, must continue to be an insoluble problem… For an indefinite future, however reluctantly, we must confine our political recognition to the professors of those religions which… preach the doctrine of “live and let live.”

In this light, a much simpler factor explains why France has been repeatedly exposed to terrorist attacks—a factor that was casually alluded to in Reuter’s otherwise pro-Islamic propaganda piece: “Europe’s largest Muslim minority” resides in France; there is a “five-million-strong Muslim community, about 8 percent of the population.”

In short, Islam’s Rule of Numbers—which holds that the more Muslims grow in numbers, the more violence against non-Muslims grows with them—is the true reason France has become the “most threatened country.”

I’m going to chalk the spurious notions about “muslim grievances” being responsible for muslim terrorism to the human desire of control – the thought of muslims having their own agency and act upon the teachings of a religion that mandates them to wage war on people because of their religion is too scary for coddled morons who look for a way to fight their fears by pretending they have some sort of control. See, if we do such and such then muslims won’t go after us – if we appease the bullies them everything will be OK. No different, in nature, from dance for rain or sacrifice people for good harvests.

It is extraordinarily strange how many in power in the West continue to absolve Muslim criminals by taking on responsibility for those criminals’ actions.
Maybe if the “names were changed” and the stories told back to them, they would begin to see that responsibility lies with the one doing the action.

Defending Islam, what is the benefit to these journalists? No other religion gets the undeserved respect that Islam gets. What do these journalists read to get their understanding of Islam? How do they avoid the truth about Islam that the web is chocked full of?

Well, gee, let me just stop everything and get a pen. That this dope pours over what they say and that he thinks we care pretty well sums up the disconnect between elites and normal people.

What does IS do or say that isn’t total nonsense? Nonsense shouldn’t be incorporated into our policies.

We ought to be doing to opposite of what they say… Seems pretty elementary.

Oh yeah, the leftists – and the media – are taking it all very seriously – the MUSLIMS have GRIEVANCES!

Grievances! This must of course be mentioned with every single attack that occurs.

The poor afghan boy that just maimed “a couple” of people on a German train supposedly “just lost a friend” back in afghanistan, you see.

      And we’re all to blame.

        So viciously insulting.

Germany alone lets in 1.1 million Muslims last year and Muslims feel perfectly comfortable saying “they hate us”. It’s open-season on white people and everyone knows it. How many did Japan let in? Who says the Japanese hate them? Of course nobody, because the Japanese couldn’t give less of a *$@# who says what regarding their immigration policies. And everyone knows the Japanese don’t let them in because they want Japan to be Japanese… If you don’t want Japan to be Japanese you’d be racist. If you want Europe to remain European, you’re racist. Makes sense if you don’t think about it.

And what about our greivances with their atrocities? What is our response to be, according to their greivence-logic?? I’d suppose the difference in expectations for the Japanese versus Europeans applies…

We’d better start to watch out for ourselves or we’ll be in a situation we can’t get out of.

Sorry to double-post. Of all people/groups, Saudi Arabia doesn’t let in a one of them. Saudi *$()#@& Arabia, Mr. Umma, The Muslim “brother”, the Shahadda is on their flag, theirs is the IS flag + a sword, the qibla– the place toward which all Muslims pray… How many do they let in? Zero. 0. Cero. Nada. None!

Who says boo? No one. Their only movement regarding the issue is to donate enough petro-dollars to Germany to build 200 Wahabbist mosques. Where is the outrage? We see now they contributed toward 9/11. Their doing stink to high hell of being progenitors of the global jihad.

          Why is the outrage nonexistant?

What grievances did they have when they attacked in Turkey, Saudi, and other Muslim countries? If they attack there, there is nothing as a Westerner you can do to placate them beyond submission. Misguided priests like this one are dangerous to themselves and others.

My grievance is that multiculturalism is a back-formed, top-down ideology imposed on populaces that never voted for it at any time.

To say the “Muslim grievances” was the cause of those many terrible and wicked Muslim terrorists attacks in France is absurd, outrageous and outright wrong.. If anything this only proves the truth of the old saying, which is that “Evil is always looking for an excuse.” In addition, to blame the French ,in any way ,for those brutal, vicious and murderous Muslim jihad attacks Nisan affront to reason, logic and the knowledge and understanding of the vast difference between right and wrong. For those malicious and deadly jihad attack are the fault of those jihad-minded Muslims and not the people of France..Those jihadist Muslims are guilty and the French are innocent . Not the other way around. The Bible also upholds this obvious truth. For it is written “Acquitting the guilty and condemning the innocent – the Lord detests them both.” Proverbs 17:15. [N.I.V.]

Well, ultimately they are correct, terrorism is due to Muslim grievances. Namely their grievance at being unable to compete with inferior infidel societies in any field, their grievance at the annoyingly superior level of technology, wealth, and military power of the non-Muslim world to the Muslim world, and their grievance that there are infidels openly walking around thinking, or worse, saying, that Islam is not the one true religion and that Mohammed was a false prophet. What makes all this so galling is that these infidels aren’t being slaughtered, subjugated, or enslaved for their blasphemy and unbelief, instead they’re all smug and happy and alive in their prosperous, free nations. Obviously these insults cannot be left unanswered.

all opposition to Allah & Islam is war against Islam, is mischief, is fitna, is discord in religion and persecution. Disbelief itself is persecution of Muslims and war against Allah. That’s what the classic scholars say. Our very existence, our standing in the way of their ordained dominance and reign over the entire earth (the entire earth was revealed to be a mosque, according to Muhammad) is intolerable, a deep grievance. The rebellion of non-Muslim mankind, especially the affront of Jews & Christians (and you are a Crusader to them whether you like it or not, Christian or not) earn Allah’s divine wrath and he punishes them through the hands of his Muslims (since he has no hands, just a middle finger).
      Blah blah blah.

On the other hand, they are either at your throat or at your feet. They goal should be to return them to our feet.

        Jul 19, 2016 at 8:47 pm

”The goal should be to return them to our feet.”

That really is the crux of the matter. The problem is that westerners just don’t think in those terms anymore. Ideas like enemies and victory or defeat just aren’t part of their psychology. The concept that we have enemies, with whom we are engaged in a zero-sum contest, who we just need to beat, sounds to most modern people like something out of a The Lord Of The Rings, or something they did way back in history days. Obviously no educated, enlightened people think that anymore? We’re passed all that surely?

And here he is, with some witless moral equivalence:

“Catholics and Muslims to Fight Terror and Defend Faith”
