Over at PJ Media, I discuss the Presbyterian Church’s submission to Islam:
The Presbyterian Church (USA) — one of the nation’s foremost mainline Protestant churches and the largest Presbyterian body in the country — recently convened in Portland, Oregon for its 222nd General Assembly. Its “first order of business” was to commemorate the victims of the Orlando jihad massacre at the Pulse nightclub, as well as those killed last year at the Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church in Charleston, South Carolina.And what better way to do that than to invite a Muslim spokesman to address the assembly?
That’s what the Presbyterians thought, anyway — and predictably enough, hilarity ensued.
Wajidi Said from the Muslim Community Center of Portland, a co-founder of Portland’s Muslim Educational Trust (MET), was the Presbyterians’ choice. The MET, according to its website, is dedicated to helping “create an open, empowering, and collaborative atmosphere within the Muslim community in the greater Portland area,” and is focused upon “education through positive interaction with Muslims and non-Muslims and honest communication with the media and public officials.”
And so, no doubt in the interests of positive interaction with the non-Muslims of the Presbyterian Church USA, Said prayed this at the General Assembly:
Allah bless us and bless our families and bless our Lord. Lead us on the straight path — the path of all the prophets: Abraham, Ishmael, Isaac, Moses, Jesus and Muhammad.
The assembled Presbyterians no doubt thought they were being wonderfully open-minded and ecumenical: a Muslim praying to Allah and invoking Muhammad as a prophet at their General Assembly right after the Orlando jihad massacre! Had there been a more thrilling demonstration of fashionable leftism anywhere since members of the Black Panthers attended upscale dinner parties in the late ’60s?
While the happy Presbyterians were congratulating themselves on their edginess and willingness to stand up to The Man, they didn’t realize that Wajidi Said was not offering a universal prayer of interfaith harmony.
He was actually openly proselytizing for Islam — and denigrating Christianity.
“Lead us on the straight path” is straight from the Fatihah, the Opening. This is the Qur’an’s first chapter, and the most common, oft-repeated prayer in Islam.
The final two verses of the Fatihah ask Allah:
Guide us to the straight path, the path of those upon whom You have bestowed favor, not of those who have evoked anger or of those who are astray.
The traditional Islamic understanding of this prayer: the “straight path” is Islam; the path “of those who have evoked Allah’s anger” are the Jews; those who have gone “astray” are the Christians.
No, this is not a lone “extremist” interpretation.
Most Muslim commentators believe that the Jews are those who have earned Allah’s wrath and that the Christians are those who have gone astray — while the sole “straight path” is Islam.
The classic Qur’anic commentator Ibn Kathir explains:
[T]he two paths He described here are both misguided. … [The] two paths are the paths of the Christians and Jews, a fact that the believer should beware of so that he avoids them.
The path of the believers is knowledge of the truth and abiding by it. In comparison, the Jews abandoned practicing the religion, while the Christians lost the true knowledge.
This is why “anger” descended upon the Jews, while being described as “led astray” is more appropriate of the Christians.
Well, the Presbyterians could still glow in their own politically correct righteousness from Said invoking “Abraham, Ishmael, Isaac, Moses, Jesus, and Muhammad,” correct?
Said sounded as if he were generously acknowledging Judaism, Christianity, and Islam, but in reality he was reflecting the Islamic belief that those figures and the other Biblical prophets all actually taught Islam, but that their messages were corrupted by their followers to create Judaism and Christianity.
The Qur’an (3:67) tells us that Abraham was not a Jew or a Christian, but a Muslim, and so were the other prophets (and Jesus as well) — until their followers hijacked their messages to create the other “Abrahamic faiths.”
Said sounded another superficially ecumenical note:
The creator of the universe, the most merciful, the most compassionate and the Lord of the universe who has created us and made us into nations and tribes, from male and females that we may know each other, not that we might despise each other, or may despise each other.
This, too, was based on the Qur’an:
O mankind, indeed We have created you from male and female and made you peoples and tribes that you may know one another. Indeed, the most noble of you in the sight of Allah is the most righteous of you. Indeed, Allah is Knowing and Acquainted. (49:13)
Said exhorted the Presbyterians:
Incline towards peace and justice and trust in God, for the Lord is one that hears and knows everything and the servants of God, the most compassionate, the most merciful, gracious are those who walk in the earth in humility and when bigots and hateful and Islamophobes address them, they say peace. Peace be upon them and peace be upon Allah.
The Qur’an doesn’t have the bit about “Islamophobes” — although it bristles on nearly every page with venom for those who reject its message — but Said statement was based on this:
And the servants of the Most Merciful are those who walk upon the earth easily, and when the ignorant address them, they say peace (Qur’an 25:63).
Wajidi Said was calling on the Presbyterians to forsake the “ignorance” of the “bigots and hateful and Islamophobes,” and to embrace the “straight path,” Islam. The Presbyterians were eagerly receptive to his message, of course, not wanting to appear “Islamophobic.”
This is what “interfaith dialogue” is all about for Islamic supremacists: proselytizing.
But Christian leaders of all denominations, not just the enlightened Presbyterian Church USA, cannot and will not grasp that point, and continue to assume that “dialogue” will bring about the dawn of some new era of mutual understanding, respect, and cooperation….

He is ‘the stone which was regarded as worthless by you, the builders, which has become the head of the corner.’ There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!” (Act 4:10-12)

Question: “Was Jesus a prophet?”
Answer: http://www.gotquestions.org/was-Jesus-a-prophet.html
Excerpt:
The title “prophet” is used many times in the Gospels when other people refer to Jesus (Matthew 21:11; Luke 7:16; John 4:19). Jesus also alluded to Himself as a prophet in Mark 6:4.
God had told Moses that someday He would send another prophet to Israel, “and I will put my words in his mouth. He will tell them everything I command him” (Deuteronomy 18:18). Jesus was the prophet who fulfilled that prophecy (see Acts 3:22; 7:37). Jesus fulfills all the requirements for a prophet in title, word, and deed. He is the ultimate prophet in that He is the very Word of God Himself (John 1:1).

Question: “Was Jesus a prophet?”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Yes!
Manuele says
NO! NO! NO!. JESUS IS/WAS NOT A PROPHET. JESUS IS THE SON OF THE LIVING GOD. JESUS IS THE SECOND PERSON OF THE HOLY TRINITY. (GOD THE FATHER, THE SON & GOD THE HOLY SPIRIT). NO PROPHET IS ANY EQUAL TO HIM. IF JESUS IS/WAS A PROPHET. PROPHETS ARE PEOPLE LIKE YOU AND ME. JESUS SPEAKS THE TRUTH FROM HIS FIRST TO HIS LAST WORD.
old white guy says
theology, religion and Christianity. Confusion brought on by too many words trying to explain the unexplainable. You want to eternal life, Christ is the only way, all the rest is confusion.
Champ says
Jesus fulfills all the requirements for a prophet in title, word, and deed. He is the ultimate prophet in that He is the very Word of God Himself (John 1:1). Jesus is the son, and God in the flesh. Jesus is ALL of these things.
Champ, I think Gary means that Jesus is not just a prophet, or a prophet in the Muslim sense. Muslims supposedly revere Jesus as a prophet–but this is not Jesus, but the vile Muslim “Isa”.
Champ says
Thank you, Graven!
shosh7154 says
Really ? Are you being facetious ? I hope you are not serious or that maybe I misunderstood because your testimony or my testimony is at best only a presentation of facts.
But Yeshua’s testimony is far more !
Revelation 19:10 …for the testimony of Jesus is the SPIRIT OF PROPHECY.
Yeshua is the very Author of prophecy…the Founder of Prophecy, the Creator of Prophecy….All things come from Yeshua…John 1:3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
So Yeshua being the Source of all things…how could Yeshua NOT be a Prophet ??? Remembering Matthew 24, Luke 21 and Mark 13 where HE told HIS talmidim the future all the way up to and including His return which the 1948 generation will see before the last person in that generation dies. NOW THAT IS A PROPHET !!!!!!!
shosh7154 says
One more thing about Yeshua/Jesus the Prophet…. look what the G-d of Israel foretold about Yeshua/Jesus
Deuteronomy 18:18 I will raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee (Moses), and will put my words in his mouth; and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him.
خَليفة says
When Moses wrote that verse he was speaking to and about the Jews. Which means the prophet he was speaking about was to come from the Jews. There are also other biblical conditions for biblical prophets, none of which Mohammed meets.
Muslims shamelessly try to use this verse to convince the ignorant that the verse was referring to Mohammed, in a bogus attempt to give Mohammed credibility. And ignorant Muslims have no idea they are being deceived.
Jan Paul says
Amen. See also 1 John 5: He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made Him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of His Son.
11 And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. 12. He that hath the Son hath life; [and] he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.
Conclusion: Mohammed was not called by God but by the spirit of destruction of undestructableTruth: Holy Trinity.
Kepha says
Gary–traditional, evangelical Presbyterians have understood that not only is Jesus a prophet, but also priest and king; himself holding all three of the Old Testament’s anointed offices. Hence, he is the Messiah [anointed one] par excellence. Put the “the” in caps.
Muhammad cannot be the promised prophet because the prophet was to be raised up from among “your brethren”–the seed of Isaac and Israel; not of Ishmael.
The definition of a *prophet* is that he (or she as in the case like Deborah) will tell God’s Word. His Word to ‘\
speak in God’s Name
warn against wrongdoing,
admonish to do right
explain the Words God has given
foretell the future
to set an example in doing God’s will
perform miracles, give signs
and always tell the Truth.
Jesus Christ did all those things. He was the Prophet that would fulfill the words of Isaiah about healing the sick, giving sight to the blind, comfort the mourning and broken-hearted and lead the people back to God.
Oh Yes!! Far more than a prophet…..
“For He rescued us from the domain of darkness, and transferred us to the kingdom of His beloved Son, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins. He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. For by Him all things were created, both in the heavens and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities–all things have been created through Him and for Him. He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together. He is also head of the body, the church; and He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, so that He Himself will come to have first place in everything. For it was the Father’s good pleasure for all the fullness to dwell in Him, and through Him to reconcile all things to Himself, having made peace through the blood of His cross; through Him, I say, whether things on earth or things in heaven.” (Colossians 1: 13-20)
Mark Swan says
You Got It—another name that is His, is The Word—all scripture is Him speaking—yes including all “prophecy”. The Word Of God—is His name as well.
By or in His name means with His Authority—With His Authorization.
Did God the Father give ancient Israel outdated instructions, which Jesus Christ had to come to change? Or were the ancient Israelites guided by the same One who was born as Jesus Christ? The answer may surprise! Many Christians try to distinguish the God of the Old Testament from the person of Jesus Christ. Yet your Bible shows that Jesus Christ, who pre-existed with God the Father from eternity, was the One who spoke to Abraham and Moses and gave the Ten Commandments! He was the One who spoke the Ten Commandments from the top of Mount Sinai!
Most religious scholars and commentaries know the clear scriptures.
But most of them avoid these scriptures like the plague! Or, on the other hand, they may do a little verbal “dance” around them—touching on them in their technical commentaries—but then gliding on to “safer” subjects without fully explaining them one way or the other. Why? Why should professing Christian leaders be afraid of the fact that the One who became Jesus Christ pre-existed with God the Father from eternity? That He was the God of the Old Testament—the God who spoke to Abraham and Moses—the God of David, the One who actually spoke the Ten Commandments? Why be fearful of these clear biblical teachings?
WHY Is This Truth So Seldom Acknowledged? When we understand that last sentence in the paragraph above, we can begin to grasp why so many professing priests and ministers shy away from explaining the real origin of Jesus Christ. For they have nearly all been taught that the Ten Commandments were a product of some harsh “God of the Old Testament” and that Jesus somehow “knew better” than His Father. In many cases they say, instead, that somehow the Apostle Paul “knew better” than either Jesus or the Father—and that he did away with God’s law, the Ten Commandments. These misguided men may be sincere. But they are “blinded” (2 Corinthians 4:3–4)—as is the whole world. Remember Jesus’ instruction about the religious leaders of His own day: “Let them alone. They are blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind leads the blind, both will fall into a ditch” (Matthew 15:14). It is embarrassing—to men who have been taught that the Ten Commandments were “done away”—to admit that it was the One who became Jesus Christ who gave the Ten Commandments in codified form to Moses. He is the One who commanded, God’s great spiritual law.
If all professing Christians were taught the truth—that the One who became their Savior is the One who gave the Ten Commandments—perhaps their actions would be quite different. The world would surely be a much safer place! All would realize that true Christianity is a law-abiding religion—a way of life based on the great spiritual law of God. They would learn that—although no one is suddenly perfect, and we are commanded to grow in Christ’s character—it is possible to follow Christ’s inspired example through His Spirit within us. As the Apostle Paul wrote: “I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ lives in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me” (Galatians 2:20, KJV). Christians would then understand the beloved Apostle John’s explanation of the very love of God and how it functions: “For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments. And His commandments are not burdensome” (1 John 5:3). They would read with new understanding John’s inspired statement in Revelation 14:12: “Here is the patience of the saints; here are those who keep the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus.” The true Christ revealed clearly in the Bible co-existed with the Father from eternity. He and the Father planned together the creation of mankind.
Speaking for Himself and the Father, the Logos—who became Christ—said, “Let Us make man in Our image.” Then, about 4,000 years later, the Logos was willing to give up the indescribable glory, power and majesty He had always shared with the Father. As correctly translated, Paul tells us that Christ “emptied” Himself, “taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross. Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father” (Philippians 2:7–11).
Jesus said, “I and My Father are one” (John 10:30). So the One who had been totally “one” with God—and who was God—”emptied Himself” to become our Savior. Truly His life is worth more than all of ours combined, because He created not only the human race, but the entire universe as well. Having bought and paid for us by His death on the cross, Christ now doubly “owns” us. He is our Maker. He is our God. He is our Master.
Yet after the death of the original Apostles, a great apostasy took over the name of “Christianity.” The clear teachings and examples of Christ and the Apostles began to be altered. The very concept of Christ being a real “Master” began to be undone and permanently altered. He came to be considered a “Lord” who demanded no obedience to the very spiritual law—the Ten Commandments—that He had given mankind. His clear and persistent teaching, “if you want to enter into life, keep the commandments” (Matthew 19:17), was now explained away as instruction only for the Jews. So also were dismissed the powerful statements of the Apostle John such as, “He who says, ‘I know Him,’ and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him” (1 John 2:4). These clear statements were explained away as applying only to the “spirit” of the law or to some \new\ commandments of Jesus. But when you study these so called new commandments, they are only magnifications of the Ten Commandments, which Jesus Himself gave on Mount Sinai! And again, “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever” (Hebrews 13:8).
May God help all of us who read this to understand and to respond to the true Jesus Christ of the Bible. As He said, “Why do you call Me ‘Lord, Lord,’ and not do the things which I say?” (Luke 6:46).
The One who existed with the Father from eternity—is the One who will guide us, strengthen us and bless us if we determine to do what He says and worship Him not only as Savior, but as Lord and Master now and forever…He will join His mind with ours and we can learn and practice keeping the perfect way of God.
In the case of these people, it is best to take a leaf from John Knox. He spoke of how in the late renaissance, the D.D. stood not for “Doctor of Divinity”, but for “Dumb Dogs”. Welcome to the suicide of liberal so-called “Protestantism”.
How anyone can see Muhammad as standing in the line of Jesus and the biblical prophets when the Qur’an clearly states that Jesus did not die on the cross, that the wife of Amram was the grandma of Jesus Christ, and that the Trinity is God, Jesus, and Mary rather than the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit is beyond me. My guess is that the assembled Dumb Dogs were ignorant not only of the Qur’an, but of the Old and New Testaments as well.
But what can you expect from the UPCUSA? They’ve had gatherings of female clergy (pastorettes for Christianettes?) to worship The Goddess (Ashtoreth? The Whore of Babylon?). Is it any surprise that they now wish to embrace the polar opposite?
Above, Martin noticed that UPCUSA congregations have broken away and gone Evangelical. I would note that the Orthodox Presbyterian Church, Presbyterian Church in America, and Reformed Presb. Church of North America would all reject the sort of assembly of Dumb Dogs described in the article. Of these denominations, the RPCNA represents a small denomination which long predates the advent of theological liberalism and has never accepted it.
RonaldB says
It’s totally illogical for different sects, let alone different religions (let alone Islam, which is a fascist political system) to have interfaith relations.
The reason is that they have different and incompatible doctrines. It doesn’t make sense that they would try to find commonalities within their religious frameworks. The only way to have interfaith communication is to sandpaper the fine points of your beliefs.
In fact, the goal of interfaith philosophy is to sandpaper off the differences in doctrine. The Muslim are not willing to change or alter their “religion”, so any sandpapering has to come from the Christian or Jewish suckers who engage with the Muslims in such futile endeavors.
Of course, the fact that it is ludicrous to engage in “interfaith” dialog doesn’t mean you can’t have community meetings, individual friendships, or cordial relations. It means that you recognize your differences in belief are irreconcilable, and that it is folly to try finding common ground.
Kepha says
RonaldB: I guess I’m in only partial agreement. I’m for conversion to Christ than for sitting in a circle singing “Kumbaya”; and I don’t want to sandpaper over real differences. But there’s a time for talking across lines.
Every time a Christian anti-Jihadist like me engages with a non-believing anti-Jihadist like Wellington, we’re in an “interfaith dialogue”. Further, it’s a part of my religion that we’re not supposed to bear false witness against a neighbor–even if we disagree with him. It is good to let others keep you honest.
Still, you’re right that these so-called Presbyterians, who’d have everyone from Knox to Warfield turning over in their graves, are indeed suckers because of their willful ignorance of the tradition they supposedly represent.
I’m Always struck by the incongruent self-image of “Allah”.
He keeps calling himself “The Most Merciful, The Most Compassionate”
– when in fact, pretty much EVERYTHING he says in the quran shows he posesses ANYTHING BUT those qualities.
In psychology, this behaviour is considered very damaging, especially if displayed by someone who has some sort of control over us – like parents who behave in this way towards their children (it is even considered by some to be a contributing factor in the development of schizophrenia) -,
and in my opinion, anyone who KNOWS the quranic texts and is still able to accept the “benefic” qualities that allah keeps claiming he has, has to have some SERIOUS psychological defects to begin with, – which are then reinforced by these “holy” texts.
So, I would argue that the quran should come with a warning printed on the cover:
THIS BOOK MIGHT DO SERIOUS DAMAGE TO YOUR MENTAL HEALTH
(and might be harmful to others as well).
I wonder how many of the Presbyterians who attended this assembly know that, per the Islamic theological blueprint, Jesus is going to come back at the end of the world and throw all Christians into Hell for deifying him, minus those, of course, who at the last moment convert to Islam, the true faith {hey, who could doubt it but “the vilest of creatures” like Jews and Christians as mentioned in Sura 98:6?}, having realized their massive error, which error even includes thinking that Jesus was crucified in the first place which, per Mo’s creed, did not occur since some kind of substitute for Jesus was actually crucified and not the Christian savior. My, lesser Christians (oh yes, they’re “lesser”), a la Muslimthink, really do get so much wrong, now don’t they?
Yes, I wonder how many of these Presbyterians know any of this. I would say it’s probably somewhere between, let’s see now, none and none. And should there be a Presbyterian or two who has realized all this and think it a good thing nonetheless that an imam addressed a Presbyterian assembly, never mind all this Muzzie’s deceptions as outlined by Robert Spencer in this article, why then we’re talking about a useful idiot on steroids, a useful idiot who can even make other useful idiots look not so usefully idiotic.
There are such people out there, you know, who continue to exculpate the worst religion of all time all the while accurately knowing bits and pieces about the worst religion of all time. Oh yeah, they’re out there. Damn shame they are. But they are. And Islam is counting on such morons. Yep, Islam is.
Kepha says
Wellington, the whole gamut of liberal “Christian” theologians is a tribe of useful idiots not on steroids, but on opium–lying on their backs dreaming in a haze of unreality while sucking poison into their systems.
I doubt these clueless naifs realized they were being insulted at all.
Here’s another salient point, re this passage:
Incline towards peace and justice and trust in God, for the Lord is one that hears and knows everything and the servants of God, the most compassionate, the most merciful, gracious are those who walk in the earth in humility and when bigots and hateful and Islamophobes address them, they say peace. Peace be upon them and peace be upon Allah.
…………………..
“Incline towards peace” sounds great, doesn’t it?
This is from the Qur’an, from the Sura Al Anfal, or The Booty:
Qur’an 8:60-61:
“And prepare against them whatever you are able of power and of steeds of war by which you may terrify the enemy of Allah and your enemy and others besides them whom you do not know [but] whom Allah knows. And whatever you spend in the cause of Allah will be fully repaid to you, and you will not be wronged.
“And if they *incline to peace*, then incline to it also and rely upon Allah. Indeed, it is He who is the Hearing, the Knowing.”
[emphasis mine–GI]
In other words, “inclining to peace” means *surrendering to Jihad terror*, and hence submitting to Islam.
*That* is the message this Imam had for the good Presbyterians who invited him to speak.
Wellington says
Accurate as always, gravenimage, but such accuracy will be lost on the foolish Presbyterians who invited this deceiver to address them, demonstrating yet again that willful ignorance of evil is actually worse than evil.
I’ve been reading the Koran (out of Carlyle’s stern sense of duty), and I see a gross misunderstanding of the biblical narrative. I cannot get it out of my craw that Sura 3 does indeed confuse Miriam bat Amram/Maryam bat Imran back ca. 1500 B.C. with Mary (Maryam/Miriam) the mother of Jesus Christ. It sounds too much as if Muhammad was trying to recount and adapt the 2d century apocryphal Infancy Gospels and harmonize them with Exodus.
I also suspect that the business about Jesus coming back to slay the Antichrist (and Christians) is a garbled reworking of his having heard the Thessalonian Epistles of Paul.
Perhaps the general Islamic refusal to allow the widespread dissemination of the Old and New Testaments wherever possible may be because since the conquest of the Fertile Crescent, the ‘Ulema has been aware that Muhammad got things radically wrong–and were too proud to admit the mistake.
A backsliding church invites its own judgment. Islam is that judgment and the repercussions are felt in the rest of society:
“For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?”
There are literally thousands of religions being practiced today. Here are 20 of the most popular, along with an estimate of the number of followers:
Christianity: 2.1 billion
Islam: 1.3 billion
Hinduism: 900 million
Chinese traditional religion: 394 million
Buddhism: 376 million
African Traditional & Diasporic: 100 million
Sikhism: 23 million
Juche: 19 million
Spiritism: 15 million
Judaism: 14 million
Baha’i: 7 million
Jainism: 4.2 million
Shinto: 4 million
Cao Dai: 4 million
Zoroastrianism: 2.6 million
Tenrikyo: 2 million
Neo-Paganism: 1 million
Unitarian-Universalism: 800 thousand
Rastafarianism: 600 thousand
Scientology: 500 thousand
If you believe in God, you have chosen to reject Allah, Vishnu, Budda, Waheguru and all of the thousands of other gods that other people worship today. It is quite likely that you rejected these other gods without ever looking into their religions or reading their books. You simply absorbed the dominant faith in your home or in the society you grew up in.
In the same way, the followers of all these other religions have chosen to reject God. You think their gods are imaginary, and they think your God is imaginary.
In other words, each religious person on earth today arbitrarily rejects thousands of gods as imaginary, many of which he/she has never even heard of, and arbitrarily chooses to “believe” in one of them.
The following quote from Stephen F. Roberts sums up the situation very nicely:
“I contend that we are both atheists. I just believe in one fewer god than you do. When you understand why you dismiss all the other possible gods, you will understand why I dismiss yours.”
Regardless, the point here is not that Muslims choose to reject Christianity.
The point is also not about the validity of either Christianity or Islam.
The point here is that this Muslim imam would be so hateful and shameless as to covertly insult those who invited him to join them in commemorating those victims of mass murder.
Muslims like this are not part of the solution.
These Muslims are the PROBLEM.
He’s typical of all the others.
IMO, he revels in those slaughters and all others that are designed to advance islamic rule.
My previous post shows the absurdity of all manmade gods.
Actually, as a Presbyterian myself (albeit of the reactionary kind), I respect the imam more than his hearers. The imam, at least, knows what he is about and has the courage of conviction, even if he is wrapped up in one of the most wrong-headed religions ever. His hearers, however, are a bunch of willfully ignorant rebellious teens (even if most are probably over 50).
Reading the comments above, I am not surprised by Christian confusion about Islam.
The ‘trick’ of Islam is exactly the denial of the resurrection, a supernatural event, which is a belief in Christianity. As a Jew, I have no dog in this fight. But, I can see Christians struggle with it, and see merit in the Islamic argument.
Let me help. Whether or not Jesus was resurrected is an non-issue. The teachings of Jesus are enough to sustain you.
What is the issue is that Muslims are commanded to KILL in the name of God. That is the antitheses of Judaism. (Why the symbol of the cross, a human sacrifice, is so contrary to our way of thinking). And, goes contrary to modern Christian ideology as well.
I have reached the conclusion that Muslims may be lucky to pick and choose some stuff from the Koran that reflects the moral instruction that Mohamed received from the Jews, but the entire religion, as far as I am concerned, is a justification for and a call for violence and murder against one’s neighbor. Attaturk was right to conclude that Turkey could not be a modern state under Sharia Law.
The Presbyterian church and later the United Methodist church are two of the churches that in the twentieth century the I had first hand observation, experience and dealing with. Still later when I had come to discover the many doctrines of the Bible as well as the study of church history along with firsthand the observance, experience had revealed that in the 1700;s and the 1900’s those two churches had pastors that preached the Bible. Now in the twentieth and twenty-first century those two have gone totally apostate. The above article exposes one of the may way the Presbyterian church and fallen in doctrinal error according to the Bible , Isaiah 8:20. Ephesians 5:11. Therefore, it’s fitting that the following should be reiterated. There are a number of apologists for Islam, some are imams and mullahs and strangely enough, even some so called “Christian” minsters as the Presbyterian minsters, who have made the outstanding claim that Christians and Muslim both believe in and worship the same God. So it stands to reason that it’s important to know if this claims valid and true or invalid and false. The facts are that the god of Islam or the Muslims is a single being. In great contrast the God of Christianity, of the Christians consists as the Trinity. By the Trinity it means that “Within the essence of the one True God there are Three Persons. Being God the Father. God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. Not three gods in one But Three Distinct Persons in One God. Being the Tri-Personal Nature of God, Matthew 3:13-17. Second Corinthians 13:14. . The Bible teaches, the Father is God, Galatians 1:1.The Son is God, First John 5:20. The Holy Spirit is God, Acts 5:3,4. Not three gods but the one and only Triune God. As further explained in the Christian book MAJOR BIBLE THEMES by Lewis Sperry Chafer on page 39 which informs the readers that “Many believe that the doctrine of the Trinity in implicit in the use of the word Elohim, as the name of God which is in a plural form and seems to refer to the Triune God. “ Likewise, in the Christian magazine PERHAPS TODAY November/December 2013 on page 8 it reads about Genesis 1:1. “In the beginning God [this is the plural noun Elohim, meaning ‘more than one’] created the heaven and the earth.” Furthermore, a bit of a view of the inner workings of the Trinity together may be seen in that the God the Father raised Jesus from the dead. Romans 10:9,10. Jesus raised Himself from the dead, John 2:19,20. The Holy Spirit raised Jesus from the dead, Romans 8:11.The inner-workings of the Trinity of God may also be seen in the fact that the Father sanctifies, First Thessalonians 5:23. The Son sanctifies, Ephesians 5:26. Hebrews 2:11; 9:12,14;13:12.The Holy Spirit sanctifies ,Romans 15:16. Second Thessalonians 2:13. Getting back to the Bible book of Genesis. In Genesis 1:26 in reads “The God said let US make man in Our image , according to our likeness…” The words are the plural “Us” and “Our.” As in “We the Trinity” For the very next verse, 27, it further reads “So God created man in His own image…” In verse 26 it’s the plural “Us” and “Our” to the singular “His” That is Three Persons in One God. In addition, in the New Testament in Matthew 28:19 It further reads the Jesus said “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the the Son and the Holy Spirit.” [N.K.J.V] That is “name” not “names.” In conclusion the many apologists and propagandists for Islam for Islam who make the claim that Christians and Muslims believe in and worship the same God are make an untrue and outright false claim. For the God of Christianity, Christians and the Bible is not the god of Islam Muslims and the Koran.
Part Seven; Is Allah the same as the God of the Jews and Christians?
(Taken from “The Undoing;Islam by its own words” see below for a free copy.)
One God, or different deities?
The word “Allah” today simply means “the deity”, so religions other than Islam also use this word in Arabic to refer to their gods. This does not mean that they are the same spiritual entity, we have to consider their attributes as revealed in the sacred writings to discover whether or not they are the same. The Koran says; (9:2) “ye cannot escape Allah…”, (113:2) “…the evil He created”, (74:56) “He is the fount of fear”, (16:70); “Allah… causeth you to die”, (22:6) “Allah quickeneth the dead”, (32:13) “will fill hell with the jinn and mankind together”, (2:167) “They will never get out of the fire”. From such verses it is very apparent that Islamic Allah is not the same as the God of the Bible who is described very differently; “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but have eternal life” (Gospel of John 3:16), “God is love” (1 John 4:8), “Save others by snatching them out of the fire (of going to hell)” (Jude 1:23), “He is not the God of the dead but of the living” (Gospel of Mark 12:27). Islam’s Allah is very clearly not the same as the God of the Christians and Jews.
There is no god but God, so who is Allah?
Is Allah the Satan of the Bible? As we have seen Allah admits urging people into hell, he and his fallen angels are in charge there (74:30); “have We not only appointed angels to be wardens of the Fire…”. He assigns a demon to each Muslim (7:27); “We appointed devils as companions…” and thus fits Satan’s description as “Beelzebub, Prince of Demons”.
Walter Sieruk says
How completely apostate and totally ignorant about the doctrines of the Bible and the false teachings of Islam Islam these Presbyterian minsters are. What folly those minsters of the Presbyterian church are in for engaging in with their interfaith activities. For example, with Islam so much in the news and in such great power in some countries, as Saudi Arabia and Iran, it’s a good thing to define what Islam really is .Of the many ways Islam may be described, one of them is that a religion of denial. Meaning that Islam denies that Jesus is the Son of God. As in the Son of God Who is God the Father. Furthermore, Islam denies the Jesus is God the Son. In addition, Islam denies that Jesus is God. Before going over these three denials of Islam it first should the stated the Bible instructs the way to tell if a prophet or religious teacher is really from and of God or not is do the teachings and doctrines of that prophet of teacher really fit in accord what is found in the Bible ? For if that prophet or teachers and teachers doctrines that are in contradiction to the Bible then that prophet is a false prophet and that religious teacher is a false teacher and thus in doctrinal error and darkness. Likewise if a religion had teachings and doctrines that are in contradiction that is religion is in error also part of the world of darkness and is therefore a false religion. As the Bible instructs in Isaiah 8:20. “To the law of the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.” [K.J.V.] With this clearly stated, three things should be known. First, that Islam denial that Jesus is the Son of God is in great contradiction to the teaching of the Bible . Which reveals the Jesus is the Son of God? As seen in ,for example Matthew 3:16,17. 16:15,16. Luke 1:35. John 3:16-18, 36. First John 2:22,23. 4:14,15. 5:12,13. Second, that Islam denies that Jesus is God the Son is in strong contradiction to the Bible. As found in Hebrews 1:6-8. With emphasis on verse 8. Third, Islam’s denial that Jesus is God is in great contrast to the doctrine and teaching of the Bible. That Jesus is God may be found in ,for example, John 1:1;3. Colossians 1:15-17. 2:9. Romans 9:5 Second Peter 1:1. Titus 2:13. First John 5:20. Moreover, to further discover that the Bible teachings that Jesus is God all a person has to do is to compare the Old Testament with New Testament to see that Jesus is God. As in comparing Isaiah 45:22,23. with Philippians 2:5-11. Also by comparing Psalm 89:8,9. with Mathew 8:23-27. will reveal that Jesus is God. Likewise, by comparing Psalm 62:5-7 . with First Corinthians 10:4. shows the Deity of Jesus. Even by comparing the News Testament books together will show that Jesus is God. As in comparing Romans 14:12. with John 5:22. will show Jesus to be God. The list can go on but this should be enough, for all who are willing to see the truth, that Jesus is, indeed, the Son of God. That Jesus is God the Son and that Jesus is God. The imams and mullahs as well as the other apologists for Islam will try to “explain’ this all away by making the claim that the Bible had been corrupted by Christians ,through time, and that’s way the Bible reads as it does. This claim, very much, underestimate the Power of God to protect and preserve His Word ,through time , and to keep in intact and away from the corruption of men. In conclusion, in light and information of the Bible in can be seen that Islam is a awful and terrible doctrinal error concerning it teaching about the Nature of Jesus and therefore Islam is part of the world of darkness. So Islam with its strong contradictions to the Bible is a false religion, Proverbs 14:12. So all dear Muslims are thus invited to leave the false religion of Islam and come the and receive the Jesus of the Bible who is the only way to heaven ,John 14:6. And the True Light of the world. John 8:12.
This article does seem to me to be a bit one-sided. You know that a Muslim’s view does not include your own ‘blessing’ if you are a Christian or Jewish, but in allowing them to join for a prayer, you have to allow them to say what they want to say – if they are being a ‘cad’ that is their failing, but of itself that is not apparent. You can’t blame them for wanting to say their own prayer if you invite them into your house !
I personally think they should be more careful of how they ‘accept’ what the Imam says, but this reaction is too critical in my view. You can be civil to Muslims, without ripping them to bits, but at the same time, keep your own faith strong and insist on your own conditions if they are in your ‘house’. If you are non-religious, just say a good-wishes type statement. Being on your guard is however always a good thing.
“Socialists” are group-might-makes-right worshiping criminal gangster extortionists. No matter what misleading label one chooses for it, extortion isn’t ever “sociable” – it’s always only a crime!
Libertine “liberal” criminals make them selves feel safe and happy by making others feel unsafe and unhappy. As such, they are sadists. But despite their schemes, it doesn’t really work out as planned that way for them – creating problems for others by attacking them all the time won’t really suffice to distract them from their own deliberately-unsolved and ignored problems – because they must still at least subconsciously fear the other people (including maybe a just “God”) whom they can’t so-‘control.’
See, people’s brains simply NEED to solve problems!
Without focus on stopping pain, there is no hope!
And without hope, there is only nagging pain!
Which is exactly WHY liberals are depressed!
[And, as an aside, it’s also both how and why religions are victim-blaming extortions, to pretend one has to have hope (“Faith!”) abstracted from is circumstantial cause-and-effect contexts to succeed! Which is also how religions train their victims to be proud reactionary masochist criminals, too]!
Religion is based on people lying to them selves and using that choice to justify their lying to others, so then demonstrating other sorts of intellectual treason, by extension, isn’t surprising.
You are right about religion. Jesus does not like it either. He confronted religion over and over with the religious rulers of His day who demanded that He use the Law (Torah) to beat up people when G-d gave us the Law to show us the way to walk with Him in righteousness. It is written, How can two walk together unless they walk in agreement?
Jesus does not want religion with you UNCLE VLADDI. He wants you to allow Him into your life so the two of you can have a relationship based on trust and a deeply loyal love that comes only from identifying with the other person even as yourself. No one can love you like this except for Jesus.
Jesus foretold the future many times to His disciples so that they would believe Him when the events happened as He said they would. Look at Matthew 24. Jesus told us in that chapter that the generation alive to see Israel (the Fig Tree) come back to life would not die off before He returns to rule the world from Jerusalem. If you look at the many other prophecies foretold and their subsequent fulfillment, you can see that no one can do this except G-d. Some of them are listed here.
http://www.bibleprobe.com/365messianicprophecies.htm
One of the greatest is the prophecy concerning King Cyrus. Isaiah the prophet was told by G-d about this man (his name, that he would be a king of a country where Jews were exiled naming the country and the events concerning His aid in returning the exiled Jews to build their temple.) Isaiah was told all of this 150 years before Cyrus was ever born. When King Cyrus saw the prophecy and his own name and all these things written about him, he abandoned all of the hundreds of idols he worshipped and gave himself to the G-d Who saw him before he was ever born.
I cannot reconcile why some apparently Christian churches are embracing Islam.
There cannot be a reconciliation because Islam does not recognize Christianity in truth at all.
How the Pope doesn’t get this is one thing, but evangelicals, and multiple others embracing Islam while Islam denounces Christ, Christians, and Christianity as a whole while in their churches, playing these games of double-speak from Islamic prayers is just beyond reason.
To me, it smacks of Obama’s promising change, fundamental change, and the voters hearing change in government finally benefiting the people with transparency and accountability, while he really meant fundamental changes that robbed the people of their freeedoms and liberty and increased debt and reduced military strength, and an invasion of Islam into American culture – Obama’s profound change.
Obama’s takiya is no different than Islam’s in these churches as these dummies are becoming dhimmis
not recognizing how anti-Christian Islam really is.
This insidious Liberalism is truly a mental illness.
