Turkey: 7,000 armed police in heavy vehicles surround NATO air base after huge rally accuses US of role in failed coup

Jul 31, 2016 4:47 am By Robert Spencer

This “security check” is hardly the action of a friend and ally. It is odd that Erdogan, who has been so friendly with Obama, would think he had a hand in the coup, but in any case, this just reemphasizes that rapidly re-Islamizing Turkey is no friend or ally of the United States, and should not be treated as one.

Incirlik air base Turkey

“1,000s Turkish forces surround NATO’s Incirlik air base for ‘inspection’ amid rumors of coup attempt,” RT, July 30, 2016:

Some 7,000 armed police in heavy vehicles surrounded the Incirlik air base used by NATO forces in Adana in what a Turkish minister called a “security check.” With no official explanation, speculations have arisen about a new coup attempt or VIP visit.

Hurriyet reported earlier that Adana police had been tipped off about a new coup attempt, and forces were immediately alerted. The entrance to the base was closed off.Security forces armed with rifles and armored TOMA vehicles used by Turkish riot police could be seen at the site in photos taken by witnesses.

Turkey’s minister for EU Affairs downplayed the situation in a Twitter post, saying a “security inspection” was carried out.

“We did the general security check. There is nothing wrong,” he tweeted from Adana.

Some supporters of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan have reportedly flocked to the cordon surrounding the base. The scene, however, did not appear as massive and tense as the recent Adana protests demanding for the base to be shut down.

On Thursday, a huge rally marched towards the NATO base, as people with loudspeakers chanted anti-American and anti-Israel slogans. The demonstrators claim that the US had a hand in the failed July 15 coup attempt in which 270 people died. Tens of thousands people, including members of the military, police, judiciary, media, and civil service, have been arrested in connection with the coup, which Turkish officials say was organized by US-based cleric Fethullah Gulen, Erdogan’s former ally, who is now his most hated rival….

If your guiding light and fearless leader hasn’t by now taken complete leave of his senses , now would probably be a good time for him to seriously consider getting your nukes out of Turkey . The whole Turkey-issue blowing up in his face as well wouldn’t look nice on his resumee , now , would it ?

The greatest traitor in US history had already armed the Islamic forces in the Middle East with tons of conventional weapons. What is there to prevent him from leaving those nuclear weapons exactly where they are for the benefit of the Turkish Caliphate – nobody can hold him responsible for lack of foresight.

Under Obama’s watch even sophisticated aeronautical hardware are being landed in Siberia and Hainan or crashed into Iran – what’s a few tactical warheads between fellow Muslims ?

You are right, Katherine! The only hope for the US and for the world is if Donald Trump becomes the President of the US. Donald Trump is the hope for all humanity! He is a savior in our days!

Re ISLAMIZATION of Turkey has been going on for a while and we keep on supporting Sultan Erdogan through Nato for years. Where do refugees to Europe come through, who buys ISIS oil, which country puts reporters in jail, which country prosecutes evangelists, which country still denies Christian, Armenian massacres.

Turkey has not been a friend to the west for a long time. Nothing new here.

Is that a way for him to get back at Putin?

Somethings up, but what? I do not trust either Ergodan or Obama.

Besides I thought the Cuban missle crisis got all the nukes out of Turkey. Was that just missiles ?

If anyone ever thought Turkey was a friend they are sadly mistaken. “0” wants to get rid of our nuclear weapons so what better way that letting Turkey have a nice bunch of them. Does anyone really think he (“0”) will do much of anything to get them back. Then of course Turkey can keep some and sell some. Good deal all around. Wonder if “0” will leave planes and tanks and all sorts of other weapons for his buddy Erdogan. How do you think he will use them and who do you think he will sell some to. Remember Benghazi.

The funniest point is: there are around 50 US nuclear warheads in Incirlik base.
Without dismantling the fisile material, the warhead is always capable of being activated sooner or later.
I am really curious how are the US going to transfer the nuclear warheads out of Turkey in case situation goes worse.

Now that the traitorous DNC, CAIR and the MSM are parading and presenting a Pakistani muslim father, his wife and all muslims as victims of “islamophobia” while demonizing Donald Trump. It will be a very good time for Donald Trump’s campaign to hit back with a powerful anti-jihad add on the Forthood jihad attack carried out by major Nidal Hasan and other similar cases. Turkey has not been an ally since 2003. Turkish membership in the E.U. would be a national security threat, as is Erdogan’s Islamist dictatorship, which supported ISIS and renewed hostilities with the Kurds to reassert a parliamentary majority. It is time for that old fashion U.S. foreign policy objective: support for self-determination. In this case, of the Kurds, whose independent state would serve as a buffer with Turkey, Iran, and the Arabs.

    • WorkingClassPost says

      Jul 31, 2016 at 9:23 am

Yes, what’s happening now in Turkey, is just bringing an independent Kurdistan ever closer.

Although Kurds are not exactly angels, they could be an immensely stabilising force in the region but the biggest problem would then be the other Kurdish areas also wanting to join, which might not go down too well with their local despots.

It’s difficult to imagine any ruler allowing a free and binding referendum for their Kurdish population.

Maybe next time we make ‘friends’ In the ME, we should explain what Democracy means before we assume that they want it, or try to impose it.

  10. mortimer says

Turkey is now a true dictatorship. The constitution is suspended and we don’t know what the next step will be. Inevitably, it will be a constitutional change granting permanent sweeping powers to the president.

Erdogan will use the incident as Hitler used the Reichstag fire. Goering later admitted he had planned the Reichstag fire.

Turkey, our “ally” doesn’t seem to be such a good partner. The same can be said of Saudi Arabia, which was behind 9/11 and has heavily funded the Islamization of America. And of Pakistan, which was only likes receiving billions of U.S. taxpayer dollars every year but was only too happy to sell that downed drone to Communist China.

Is this a mere coincidence or a definitional pattern? Could it be that Moslem nations are inherently double-crossing allies?

  12. pdxnag says

    Jul 31, 2016 at 11:50 am

Moslem nations could all be double crossing western countries…it is the doctrine which commands for the” religion of peace” to be victorious over all…as the Nato bases are a source of weapons…seems clear to me..since they are also commanded not to take friends of the infidels…but if you do put on a soft face and plot all the while to have a base that would theirs one day.

So once again, migration from muslims countries in any amount. (since they have large families) in time becomes a problem to the target host. But that is just an opinion…..we really don’t need the advise of the predator religion.

Some Islamic countries have profited big time from geopolitics struggle between URRS/Rusia and USA/EU. Time to rethink geopolitics. The biggest tread to the free world is no longer communism. The biggest tread the west is facing is islamism, as it has been since 7th century. Communism was just an ephimeral distraction.

Read about the 1,500 American soldiers there, if it was not so significant, why did Turkey turn off the power there. Why won’t NATO assist the Americans in this NATO Air Base? Also Pat Robertson was pointing out that Turkey is one of the countries that will come against Israel according to Ezekiel 38.Have you noticed how little the major media has said anything about this? It will embarrass Obama and the Democratic Party.

  17. Bob Smith says

    Jul 31, 2016 at 2:57 pm

Watch Obama’s words carefully. Obama might split the baby (so to speak) by taking the warheads but leaving the missiles, and then abandoning the base. The range and accuracy of US missiles is the best in the world and the umma would no doubt like the opportunity to reverse engineer them, or failing that use them to deliver a Pakistani or Iranian nuclear payload.

  18. islam the religion of killers says

    Jul 31, 2016 at 7:40 pm

Nuclear missiles are not just big RPG’s

I would imagine ME physco’s wouldn’t have the ability to fuel up the missiles, let alone pull them apart to get the nuclear material out, or manage it once it’s out.

Then there’s getting them unlocked and fired, and finally stearing to some intended target..

I would expect the US would have total control of the safety of these devices and be able to make them nothing more than inoperable tubes sitting in holes in the ground if needed..

Turkey should be booted out of NATO, (what were they thinking letting them in in the first place)
The bases closed with a heavy airlift for personal & everything else destroyed on the way out, (it’s just a short hop to Israel ), the border to Europe sealed off, and let them get on with it. Just like Afghanistan they will come up against Russia soon enough. let the world see how good Erdogan is at pushing Putin around ..

Obama is still in kindergarten compared to Putin

    • DM says

“0” will do nothing constructive to retrieve the nuclear weapons. If you think Turkey doesn’t have the technology to use them you are mistaken. Why do you think ME countries including Turkey send their best and brightest to Western Universities. Even if they do not have the know how they will hire it.
