Exposing the role that Islamic jihad theology and ideology play in the modern global conflicts

Canada: Muslim steals airplane and crashes it, father blames police

Aug 22, 2016 11:58 am By Blain Tamarin

Somehow this story managed to fly under the radar (pardon the pun). Mohammad Hassan Chaudhary, 20, of Markham, Ontario, was killed after crashing a stolen airplane onto a street in Peterborough. Naturally, his father told media sources that Mohammad lived with schizophrenia and other mental health issues. The Toronto Star news outlet goes so far as to call Mohammad a “troubled tinkerer,” in a way reminiscent of Clock Boy Ahmed Mohamed. Many sources did not even mention the “20-year-old man” by name, perhaps in an attempt to avoid further scrutiny.

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police have declared the incident to NOT be a national security issue, despite the fact that the stolen Piper Tomahawk plane was full of fuel and was ready to fly for five hours. Afzal Chaudhary, Mohammad’s father, “expressed outrage over the fact that his son was able to break into the airport, steal a small aircraft, and crash land on the streets of Peterborough without any intervention from police or airport security officials.”

As many jihad terrorists nowadays are supposedly plagued by mental health issues, Canada should be relieved that this incident did not cost any lives other than Mohammad’s. The grand irony in this case is that Afzal Chaudhary blames Canadian police for his son’s death, while in reality any sort of police involvement when it comes to Muslims is deemed “Islamophobic.”

If you see something, say something, unless…

“RCMP confirm Peterborough plane crash was subject of national security investigation,” by Adam Miller, Cindy Pom and Allison Vuchnich, Global News, August 19, 2016:

“A day after Global News reported the RCMP was investigating national security aspects related to the stolen plane that crashed in Peterborough, Ont. last week, the RCMP has confirmed its national security enforcement unit was involved in the investigation.

The national police force also said it found no threat to national security, no motive for the theft and declined to provide an explanation as to how a 20-year-old Markham man with mental health issues who “acted alone,” managed to steal the plane undetected and crash it in a major Ontario city.

Mohammad Hassan Chaudhary of Markham, Ont. was killed after the small Piper Tomahawk aircraft he allegedly stole from the Markham Airport smashed into the ground just before 1:30 a.m. Aug. 12 near the Landsdowne Place mall. Chaudhary’s father told Global News his son lived with schizophrenia and other mental health issues.

Afzal Chaudhary said his he is shocked his son was able to steal and fly the plane without a “single minute” of flight training.

Sources close to the investigation confirmed to Global News the RCMP led the inquiry into the crash and Chaudhary said they had met with him “many times” to discuss his son’s involvement.

RCMP spokeswoman Sgt. Penny Hermann initially told Global News the national police force was investigating “the reasons that the aircraft was stolen” with the Peterborough Police Service and York Regional Police, but declined to comment on whether the RCMP was leading the investigation or if it was being treated as a national security issue.

After declining multiple requests for additional comment, Hermann contacted Global News Thursday evening with a brief updated statement.

“I just got information saying that based on our joint investigation in regards to that plane crash, there is no national security aspect,” said Hermann, who was unavailable for further comment.

The RCMP released a statement Friday afternoon that said the three police services had been “working together” to investigate the crash and confirmed the Ontario RCMP Integrated National Security Enforcement Team (INSET) had been involved in the investigation.

“As Canadian airspace incidents involve federal authorities in the investigation, PPS contacted the Ontario RCMP Integrated National Security Enforcement Team (INSET) during their initial investigation as did YRP during their investigation,” the statement said.

“INSET has followed up on the information provided by both police services and we have no information to indicate there is a link with national security. The investigation has not revealed the motive for the theft and all indications are that the young man acted alone.”

Chaudhary expressed outrage over the fact that his son was somehow able to break into the airport, steal a small aircraft and crash land on the streets of Peterborough without any intervention from police or airport security officials…”

Without a single minute of flight training? Bunk! I worked in FAA air traffic control for 15 years, at several small general aviation airports, and another 30 years in civilian and military flight test. I guarantee they are going to find a flight school that this man attended, even if only for a short time.

How did he steal the airplane?

It’s a small, non-tower, outlying airport with a rickety fence. My kind of airport.

Not every aircraft can be locked and not everyone locks those that can be.

He probably hopped the fence, opened the canopy, got in, started it up (yes, night flying is permitted there and the noise would likely not have caused alarm amongst local residents), taxied out–and without having taken a flying lesson–managed to take off, lost control and crashed.

Check his home computer–probably has some version of Flight Simulator on it.

And, I’ll bet his pajama clad dad has contacted CAIR–hoping for a lawsuit payout.

Right, it’s all the fault of the people he stole from and law enforcement. This must be all an islamophobic conspiracy – they realized he was going to kill himself so they did nothing to prevent it. Idiot.

“mental health issues.” – This is now the current bullshit excuse for Muslim terror.

it is suspicious that this plane was fully fueled, sitting with the keys in it, ready to fly. It was likely arranged in advance. Mohammad would have also have been familiar with the airport taxiways and runways as it is hard to follow them at night.

It is very suspicious that Security and Investigators stated so soon that it wasn’t a security issue. Why even make that statement? Was it under orders from the Muslim controlled Liberals?

A classic Islamic victim-hood story, the father blames the airport for allowing his son to steal an airplane. Of course the fact that the “20-year-old man” just happened to be a Muslim named Mohammad and crashed a plane, probably in imitation of 9/11, had nothing to do with the “peaceful religion of Islam.” Of course the poor boy had “mental issues.” How else can you account for his actions? Wake up, Canada, global jihad has arrived, courtesy of jihadi Justin, your new Muslim Obama.

This is a NATIONAL Security affair. A young man was able to go to an airfield unchallenged; walk to a plane fully loaded with fuel; presumably the ignition key was available; TAXIED and took off without a single CHALLENGE or even a report by the airfield authorities that plane has been STOLEN!

It is irrelevant why he did it at this time. The FACT that he was able to steal an airplane from what should have been a very secure airport shows how utterly UNPREPARED Canadian authorities are to terrorism

Moreover, it is also OBVIOUS that the Canadian leadership copying those in the USA & Europe are unwilling to connect the dots that it is Islam & Muslims STUPID!

This, as far as I am concerned is the SCARIEST item in this case because there will be better trained and more professional terrorists who will follow lead somewhere else

Well and clearly noted, Sir. It is indeed a matter of national security, and this occurrence demonstrates how under-prepared the Canadian government is to preserve or defend national security. It’s easy for me to believe, though, that the US government is equally dim. And look at what happened in Cannes with a truck. All very dispiriting. There are approximately 20,000 non-tower airports in the U.S., a huge number of which are small and at very rural locations, including farms, ranches, crop dusting strips, etc.

Roughly 500 U.S. airports have operational control towers.

Don’t know the number in Canada.

Yes, a jihadist–or other “terrorist” could do that.

On a serious note, the ease in which this loser got onto a tarmac and into a plane, started it and flew it for some time is scary, very scary. Long line ups and silly rituals at check in for boarding planes, meanwhile huge gaps where airline employees are involved (not enough background checks) and now events like this. Authorities need to get back to the drawing board and fix these security gaps. Or else it’s only a matter of time before some muslim idiot(s) get lucky.

Although I agree with the majority of the articles and many of the comments on this site, I would urge writers to make sure your lines are factual before posting them. In the headline “and crashes it into mall” is simply not true.

A simple Google search shows the plane crashed on a street running alongside the mall and it crashed in the middle of the night, hardly Allahu Akbar stuff.

Never mind what this kids motives were, never mind his intentions, never mind how he got his hands on a plane and got to where he did, the thing that sticks in my mind is that the writer did not do the proper research to ensure the facts were straight before hitting the enter button. Makes me wonder what else has been loosely thrown together for us to be made to believe.

In all due respect Georg, I must question the labelling of imbecile. Deranged, misguided, even brainwashed may apply, but not imbecile. An imbecile does not walk onto an airstrip, select, start, and steal a plane, taxi down a runway, take off, and fly for over 100 km.

My initial post was not of the actions of this individual, but of the down right misleading reporting of it.

In my opinion, the author has lost credibility as facts are not posted and he led the reader to believe the airplane was crashed into a mall.

l’m wondering how they came up with the ‘mall’ theory when the plane crashed in the street – how far was the crash site from the ‘mall’?.
l suppose he could have been heading for the mall and lost control.
And where did he learn to fly?

Everything with muslims is always highly suspect – or am l just getting paranoid.

PRCS, this isn’t the first time a Muslim has failed to do damage because he picked too small a plane to use as a weapon:

        “2002 Tampa airplane crash”

        https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2002_Tampa_airplane_crash

“The incident occurred when Charlie J. Bishop, a high-school student of East Lake High School in Tarpon Springs, Florida, United States, stole a Cessna 172 and crashed it into the side of the Bank of America Tower in downtown Tampa, Florida. Bishop had been inspired by the September 11 attacks. The impact killed the teenager and damaged an office room. There were no other injuries.”

Sure–it’s *possible* that Mohammad was just joyriding around and had somehow forgotten that he didn’t know how to land the airplane he’d stolen, but I’m not sure that would be my first assumption. It’s not as though he was trying to radio for assistance.

It’s easy to read a story like this one and, being aware of similar stories in the past, assume and speculate and conjecture, but it’s always better to withhold judgment until the facts are known. This particular story is heavy on suggestion and light on factual detail.

Knowing that the “facts” initially reported in so many aircraft incidents and accidents ultimately turn out to be erroneous, I’m willing to await reports from Transport Canada and appropriate police agencies

The aircraft involved in a 1992 accident in Niles Canyon was falsely reported as “a stunt plane”. I know it wasn’t, as I used to fly that aircraft from the Hayward airport.

It definitely could be jihad, of course, but might not be, either.

And for the record, I’m a guy.

PRCS, my apologies–I thought I had remembered you saying you were a woman at one point. I must have been thinking of another poster.

So you used to fly out of Hayward? I know Niles Canyon well–we go to the silent film festival in Niles every year.

I’m up in Oakland–are you still in the area?

I do agree that the early information on news stories can be garbled and some of the details off.

But there is also a long and concerning history of downplaying Jihad, and just assuming that every Muslim wielding a machete and screaming “Allahu Akbar!” is actually a Methodist with mental health issues or who is sad over a break-up with his girlfriend.

Perhaps you remember the San Francisco SUV killer, Afghan immigrant Omeed Aziz Popal, who ran down and murdered a man in Fremont and who then drove to San Francisco and mowed down dozens more, ending up at the Jewish Community Center. Despite bystanders recalling his yelling “Allahu Akbar!” as he bore down on his victims, this was chalked up to–you guessed it–mental illness and frustration that his fiance had not been able to get a visa more quickly.

I find the specter of a Muslim stealing an airplane and crashing it right by a mall to be extremely disturbing, and my first thought, I’m afraid, is not going to be that he was out joyriding and just forgot how to land.

          GI,

I retired from the Navy in 89. Stationed at Alameda from 80-86 and Moffett Field 86-89. Lived in Hayward from 80-92 when we moved about 4 hours northeast–to a Big Lake.

Yes, I know you’re in Oakland.

Flew out of Hayward, Freemont (including SkySailing airport–by the drag strip when they both still existed) and the Flying Club at Moffett Field.

This incident occurred at approximately 1:30 am. Apparently no witnesses. Pretty slim pickin’s if an 0 dark thirty attack on a mall was his intent.

As noted, it could be jihad; might not be.

I remember the Popal incident, as it was covered at either JW or DW at the time, I believe.

I can cite numerous aircraft incidents/accidents in which actual, eye-witnesses got the story wrong–per the final NTSB/FAA accident reports. The number of aircraft that “were on fire”, when no fire existed is noteworthy.

The 91 (not 92–my mistake) accident aircraft–flown by two flight instructors–crashed as the result of a stall/spin, incinerating the a/c and both pilots.

I was the manager of Hayward Aero Squadron at the time.

For PRCS – OT anecdote – My dad (RIP) had a Bellanca Viking for many years, and he loved to fly to Kansas City for lunch and to buy some cigars at the Muhlbach Hotel , then return same day to hometown across Missouri on the Mississippi River. One time he made this excursion right after the plane had returned from the annual factory maintenance visit in, I believe, Minnesota. Being an observant flyer and a careful record keeper, he noticed on the way to KC, he’d used 50% more fuel than the flight usually took. Ditto, on the flight home.

He immediately brought this anomaly to the attention of his plane doctor back in Quincey, Illinois, and it turned out that some mechanic at the Bellanca factory had neglected to securely .tighten down the bolts on the carburetor. So my dad realized that he’d made the outgoing and return flights with gallons of avgas spewing around the red hot engine of the plane as he flew and that there’d been a good chance of that plane and him inside it getting blown to smithereens in the air.

My dad was not the type to say “eeek!”

Instead, he donated the plane to a charity for the tax deduction and never flew again!.

Can you imagine what conclusions people might have come to if it had indeed exploded mid-air? Just thought you, as a small craft flyer, might appreciate this horror story!

Yes. An olympic event! Jumping to conclusions!

          Nice story.

Your dad had good taste; cigars AND a Bellanca Vking!

A very fine, fast wood winged, fabric covered aircraft that most would be amazed to learn was still being built through 2001 (much, if not all that time, in Minnesota, I believe).

Hope you got a ride in it!

As a side note, the 1992 accident I posted about to gravenimage was a Citabria–also built by the company founded in the U.S. by Italian immigrant, Giuseppe Bellanca.

The clueless reporter who had described it as a “stunt plane” also assumed it was “an Italian airplane”.

I won’t take up Robert’s bandwidth with a Viking video, but there are a fair number available on YouTube.

OT and LOL – PRCS – The wooden wings are EXACTLY why my pop bought the Bellanca, after previously having had a Cessna. He called the Bellanca “the Cadillac of small planes”. He went to an airplane show and said the wooden wings could support more pretty girls sitting on them than any other plane! That’s what he told me anyway! And yes, I did get to fly in it. A beautiful plane, maroon and white.

Here’s more blame from dear ol’ dad:

Chaudhary expressed outrage over the fact that his son was somehow able to break into the airport, steal a small aircraft and crash into the streets of a major Ontario city without any intervention from police or security officials.

“This is a national story. They’re spending billions and billions of dollars on the airports. He open[ed] the airport here. Not [a] fence, [not] any gate, [nor] any guard, and he left an airplane over there,” he said, adding that his son somehow had the “opportunity” to fly the plane. “What is this? … If there was security over there in the airport – what kind this airport is?”…

Chaudhary said his son should have been apprehended as soon as he entered the airport.

“It’s not national security issue on my son. It’s a national security issue for the airport,” he said.

“How come they left the airport like this? He was sick. I know. He had a mental problem.”…

“I blame everybody. I blame this police too.”

The new narrative to justify Islamic Terror attacks – the Muslim terrorist suffers from a “mental disorder”, seems to be the most common excuse used now. The quran is their constitution, Mohammed is their prophet and Allah is their God, yet mental disorder is the reason for going jihad. Of course they are the victims as well as terrorist father blames airport for not keeping his son from stealing a plane. Maybe we should blame the father for not giving his mentally deranged son flying lessons so he could of landed the plane safely? We know from experience muslim terrorists between ages of 18 & 35 are not concerned about landing planes safely!

When in the hell is this Liberal Canadian government going to wake up to the real threat of Islamic radicals willing to do terrorist activities in Canada. Oh sure the Father says his son was a schizophrenic . A blatant lie. The Mounties need to do a little more investigating. What mosque did he attend? And who are the Imam(s) in this mosque? Who are his friends? 100 to 1 says he was radicalized in the mosque with his parents approval. There is probably a cadre of other young radicalized Muslims who are in this mosque and I would bet some are in Syria as ISIS soldiers. Lies by Mounties , prompted by lies from the government, advertised by the mouth piece of the Liberal, the Toronto Star and CBC radio and television to promote these lies to hide this was an Islamic terrorist attack that through the grace of god this individual crashed the plane killing only himself. This was a close call.
