The Daily Mail, the worst paper in the Western world, says this is an “inflammatory statement.” What is inflammatory about it, exactly? The West should admit large numbers of people who don’t want to live the way we do? Should the Saudis do that as well — admit large numbers of people who have no intention of living in accord with Islamic law? The Daily Mail would never dare call for that. But if a French mayor dares to defend French culture, that’s “inflammatory.”
“‘Go naked in Saudi Arabia and see what will happen to you’: French mayor vows to ignore burkini ban court ruling,” by Darren Boyle, MailOnline, August 31, 2016:
A right-wing French mayor has vowed to continue with the burkini ban despite France’s top court ruling the restriction is illegal.
Mayor of Cogolin Marc Etienne Lansade claimed people should live according to the local customs and traditions of the country they are in.
In an inflammatory statement, Cogolin warned: ‘If you don’t want to live the way we do, don’t come.’
Speaking to CNN, he said: ‘You have to behave in the way that people behave in the country that accepted you, and that is it.
‘If you are accepted in Rome — do like Romans do. Go in Saudi Arabia and be naked and see what will happen to you.’
A court in Nice has ruled that a burkini ban in Cannes is also against the law….

When I look around me as I shop in my local supermarket in a outer London suburb I am sickened by the sight of so many women in full Islamic dress, I feel as if I am in Afghanistan or the like. There is an all pervasive air of supremacy to them, our whole area has transformed over the last 15 years or so since 9/11. The hijab, burka, niqab, abbayah is everywhere one looks in my area which is also a very Jewish area (Edgware). It’s an act of defiance and it feels as if they are ‘teaching’ us.
I love to see Hindu women in their saris and have no objection to other nationalities, it’s those that seek to proselytise and dominate that I detest.
We are selling up our house and moving to the coast. I dread to think how different it will look in 50-100 years time.
RG says
People who have grown up under Western democracy simply do not understand the insidious deception which pervades the islamic culture. Westerners are trained from birth to show respect for other cultures and ethnicities. It’s virtually an unpardonable sin to be disrespectful toward someone of another race or of another religious persuasion. “Live and let live”, “mind your manners”, “do unto others as you would have them do unto you”–THAT’S WESTERN CULTURE! It’s founded on Judaeo-Christian principles and it’s why democratic gov’ts such as the USA and Western Europe have generally flourished in the world. On the opposite side of the spectrum is TYRANNY, and DESPOTISM which usually isn’t very hard to spot because it denies people all of the basic freedoms. Unfortunately, islam (intentionally lower-case) NEVER reveals it’s true despotic character when it is initially introduced. It is extremely befitting for muslims to wear disguises and cover-ups b/c islam is all about hiding and covering up! Islam is the only “religion” (falsely so-called) in the world which actually sanctions and sanitizes the practice of lying and deception, i.e., taqiyya, kitman, etc, etc. Islam is the only “religion” (falsely so-called) which sanctions violence, hatred, rape and murder–all in the name of promoting islamic “righteousness”. Ask any practicing muslim if he or she is promoting truth and justice in the world…Ask any suicide jihadi before he blows himself, and dozens of innocent victims, to kingdom come, Are you a righteous person?–and your answer will be YES, ABSOLUTELY! This is the TRUE NATURE of islam–it’s all about deception and cover-up! The Western world would do well to shout from the housetops what Winston Churchill taught to a previous generation, “Mohammedanism is a militant and proselytizing faith. No stronger retrograde force exists in the World. It has spread throughout Central Africa, raising fearless warriors at every step…the civilization of modern Europe might fall, as fell the civilization of ancient Rome.” — “The River War”, Winston Churchill, 1899.
To that I would simply add that when a majority of evil men actually believe that their evil deeds are just and upright, then the end of civilization isn’t far behind! As for your decision to move “to the coast”, I wish you all the best, but unless there is a direct intervention to stop the expansion of islam in its tracks, I don’t think we Westerners have 10 years left, much less 50!

Yes, graven, quite monocultural, I’d say. It’s their way or the highway. Of course, the highway may not even be an option. You may try to walk away but they may put you away instead.

Mayor Cogolin tells the truth and somehow its inflammatory, “Moral courage is the ability to act rightly in the face of popular opposition, shame, scandal, discouragement, or personal loss.”
A very brave man and we will not abandon our shared belief.
Demsci says
Great man! For now, he still can well get a majority behind him, but this is in danger when Islamic immigration remains unchecked.
His comparison with Saudi Arabia is so apt. As would be comparisons with other Islamic countries, like Iran, Gambia (was mentioned in the news as having anti-nude laws).
Sure, there might be some “discrimination” going on, some “infringement on freedom of clothing” in “our turf”.
But it is so hypocritical of defenders of the burkini for the reason of “freedom of clothing” or so, not to look global, not to use the exact same standards for all countries in the world.
The protests against the burkini-ban could, maybe should, be an opportunity to denounce the “dress-codes” of all Islamic countries, or …. “respect for those ONLY when similar limitations on dresscodes, like the burkini-ban, are respected as much, if done by Democratic nations.
Either legal freedom for all countries or legal limitations for all countries on the issue of dresscode could be the single standard.

The civilised world should be getting behind the French, not condemning it. This is the way forward: fight back against Islamist supremacy. But if you leave aside religion and politics (which liberals will not allow you to do), there is a very simple, non-political, non-religious and perfectly logical answer to the burkini debate. This mayor would definitely agree with me.
In Muslim countries, uncovered Western women on beaches are considered culturally offensive. Therefore, it is not permitted.
In Western countries, covered Muslim women on beaches are considered culturally offensive. Therefore, it is not permitted.
One of the many unacceptable things about Islam is that it sees respect, tolerance and freedom of expression as a one-way street: one which doesn’t go in our direction. Unacceptable double standards and hypocrisy. The West has done everything to accommodate and appease them, changing its laws and traditions, but to my knowledge, in Britain at least, not one concession has been made in return by any Muslim group. But if your religion teaches that it is perfect in every way and that you are superior in every way to non-Muslims, why would you make any concessions to them?

I think this mayor would enjoy today’s koran lesson. My favorite part of the koran is the bad prophetic blessing ordained on it from the Almighty God. One prophecy says an inviter will come and there is no dishonesty in him. Another says something terrible will happen far away from the Arab world. Someone put these prophecies in there, then did nothing else to help determine when these prophecies were fulfilled. That is how to sabotage the prophetic arrangement in a book. I am sure this happened because of the koran’s sparse accounts of biblical figures lives, exaggerations against Christians and Jews, and proclamations to kill those who justly disagree with these disgusting proclamations. The prophetic blessing in the Jewish book is much better. The words left in the bible can all be coordinated and used by a nazarite to build an altar against murder and human sacrifice in front of God. This act is supposed to inspire God to intervene against murder in the world. If muslims truly wanted to cover their nakedness they should disassociate from the ugly blemishes in the koran and cover themselves with the better prophetic arrangement in the bible.

Robert, you’re mistaken. Whilst The Daily Mail is utter tripe, it’s better than The Guardian, which is the most libtardist, hate rag in the west. The Guardian is many times worse than The Daily Mail. At least the Daily Mail usually lets people have their say in the comments section. I’ll tell you which papers are the worst in the Western world as far as I can see: German papers that immediately delete any comments they think are in the least critical of islam.
Be glad that the Daily Mail, silly though the articles can be, allows the public to have its say. That is no longer so in Germany!!

Only 218 comments so far, (moderated in advance !) but it is heartening to see that of those comments allowed by the censors, the vast majority support Monsieur Lansade .
Perhaps it may be just one little thing like this, that might be the catalyst. Let’s hope so.

This shouldn’t be a case of ‘right-wing’, ‘left-wing’ or ‘any wing’. It’s just a case of good old self-respect on the part of the French. If they (the muslims) want to come and enjoy the benefits of French socio-economic life that the French people have built up over the centuries, then they (the muslims) can (pardon my French) bl**dy well show proper deference and respect towards their hosts and conform to their customs. If they (the muslims) are too stupid, or ignorant, or bigotted, or just palin insufferably arrogant (or a combination of all that lot) to manage that, then it’s a case of OUT on their ears without further ado. If you joined an organisation and immediately started to cause disruption by not co-operating with this, disrupting that, demanding to change the rulebook, generally making an ostentatious prat of yourself and being abusive and insulting to fellow employees/members, how long would it be before your employment/membership was terminated? Hopefully you’d be out before too many of the long-serving established members (who built and paid for the place) started leaving in total disgust. The Authorities in France – and the UK and Germany and elsewhere – had better snap to it and start taking good notice of this mayor, because it seems to me that we’ve already reached this point.
Charli Main says
Very succinct ant exactly to the point.
We are in this mess because successive British Governments failed to MAKE IT CLEAR to immigrants, regardless of their skin colour, race or religion, CHOOSING to live in Britain, that a part of that choice was ADOPTING AND ADAPTING TO THE BRITISH WAY OF LIFE.
If you want to dress like a Paki, eat like a Paki, live like a Paki and behave like a Paki xxxx off back to Pakistan.
Dennis says
My question to the Muslims: why did you come to France in the first place? If you are escaping from your middle eastern culture, then why do you bring it here?
jayell says
Oh come on, Dennis, isn’t it obvious? Like a horrendous flock of malevolent, overgrown cuckoos even beyond Hitchcock’s imagination, they’ve taken a liking to this new nest they’ve discovered (which they couldn’t possibly have built themselves) and intend to take it over. However, the present occupants can stay to do their new masters’ pleasure and keep the place ticking over. Because the ‘new masters’ wouldn’t have a clue. Which is why they came in the first place.

Covered Meat sex-object.
The irony of sex-slave modesty.
Islam says a wife MUST have sex with their Muslim husband.
From the beginning of Muhammad’s 72 virgin wet-dream inspired perversion Muslim men have been insecure that their sex slave property (‘wives’) might commit adultery with another.
Adultery is however sanctioned for the male provided it follows Islam’s rules set forth by Muhammad’s example and approved by his puppet clown Allah.

Finally a leader who takes a stand! I was hoping one of them would and thought to myself, “that would be amazing, but possibly the first step towards civil war. Either way, politicians know they have the support of the people.
Lastly, this all made me think of the military. The west needs to ensure our military doesn’t get infiltrated by extremists, which has been reported in relation to Germany’s military for example. Rest assured, our institutions are being infiltrated and we need drastic action to correct this.
Anne Smith says
Yes our institutions are being infiltrated and have been for some years. It is quite interesting to read the list of Councillors in various towns and see how many Muslims are now Councillors, the numbers of Muslim MPs in Parliament has risen each time and London has a Muslim mayor. There are many Muslims in the judiciary and police.

No. They won’t even admit other ummah. Japan doesn’t have to take in anyone not Japanese. Are they condemned as racist? Is the question ever mulled? No.
Only whites have to. And do it on an industrial scale. And wind up being called racist during it all. Not because we are, of course, but because ne’er-do-wells and Islamic entryists know it will help their case, with any shred of morality or gratitude for their hosts be damned. Thus it is an invasion.

The mayor of a small seaside town tells it like it is, words every thinking person in the West know to be true. Meanwhile, what does the leader of the world’s most powerful country, the leader of the Christian or secular West, have to say?
Barack Obama, US President: “It is important for Western countries to avoid impeding Muslim citizens from practising religion as they see fit, for instance, by dictating what clothes a Muslim woman should wear”. This of course, is the man who also said: “The Muslim call to prayer is one of the prettiest sounds on Earth at sunset”.
