Robert Spencer in PJ Media: Iran: ‘We Welcome War With the U.S.’

Aug 31, 2016 3:02 pm By Robert Spencer

Iran has little time left to trample on Obama. How far will they go? My latest in PJ Media:

USS Nitze

Last week, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) sent four vessels to “harass” a U.S. warship near the Strait of Hormuz. A prim schoolmarm of a U.S. official called the Iranian action “unsafe and unprofessional.”

In reality, there was nothing “unprofessional” about it. The incident wasn’t about seafaring conduct — it was a clear act of war.

The Iranian vessels harassed the USS Nitze, a destroyer, by “conducting a high speed intercept and closing within a short distance of Nitze, despite repeated warnings,” said the official. “The Iranian high rate of closure … created a dangerous, harassing situation that could have led to further escalation, including additional defensive measures by Nitze.”

USS Nitze changed course to get away from the Iranian vessels, but Iran’s message was clear: it has been on a war footing against the United States since 1979, and continues to be. The Iran nuclear deal has only emboldened it.

Iranian vessels now regularly confront U.S. ships in the Persian Gulf. The Obama administration has been deliberately hiding and downplaying these incidents.

Think about the enormity of that: the White House is misleading Americans into thinking that Obama successfully achieved rapprochement with Iran.

The details of Iran’s ongoing war activities against the United States are unknown to most Americans; the full, shocking story is in my new book, The Complete Infidel’s Guide to Iran. For years, Iranian leaders have engaged in extremely bellicose rhetoric against the U.S. On February 11, 2014, the thirty-fifth anniversary of the Islamic Revolution, Iranian Chief of Staff Hassan Firouzabadi boasted:

Iran is prepared for the decisive war against the U.S. and the Zionist regime. … Iran has been making plans, conducting maneuvers, and preparing its forces for this battle for years now.

Such threats weren’t limited to Revolution Day. In a Friday sermon on February 21, 2014, the head of Iran’s influential twelve-member Guardian Council of the Constitution Friday worship, Ayatollah Ahmad Jannati, preached this:

The Imam Khomeini said that the U.S. is the Great Satan, and we expect [Iranian officials] to recognize the enemy. The U.S. is the Great Satan, yesterday and today … While the enemy carries out ugly actions and says evil things, the Iranian nation has shown fervor and, with its enthusiastic turnout [a week and a half before, for the February 11 Revolution Day celebrations], made it known that it will not tolerate humiliation.

Jannati continued, thundering:

The first option on our table is “Death to America.” The entire people’s slogan is “Death to America” … Another option on our table is the defense of Palestine; other messages from the Iranian people to their officials are not to fear the enemy and not to fear death.

[The Americans] already want us to capitulate on the nuclear issue — but on what basis are they interfering in Iran’s affairs? If we let them, the Americans will destroy Islam and the Revolution, because they have no honor and no humanity … See how they left the helpless people of Iraq. They carry out massacres in Palestine, and support takfiris who slaughter people.

(Takfir is the practice of declaring a Muslim who is considered to hold a heretical form of Islam to be a non-believer. Shi’ites often refer to Sunni jihadis as takfiris because they do not regard Shi’ites as true Muslims.)

In May 2014, senior Iranian commander Massoud Jazayeri warned that if the U.S. attacked Iran, not only would the result be “the annihilation of the Israeli regime,” but war in the U.S. itself:

[The Americans] know that aggression against the Islamic Republic of Iran would mean annihilation of Tel Aviv and spread of war into the United States.

Fadavi added the following during an interview at that time:

Today the Americans and the entire world know that one of our operational goals is destroying U.S. Navy Forces.

A specific target would be aircraft carriers:

[Carriers] provide U.S. airpower in combat; therefore it is natural that we want to sink them … destroying, annihilating, and sinking U.S. boats has and will be in our plans.

In September 2014, Fadavi asserted that Iran already had hegemony in the Persian Gulf:

The U.S. is obedient and passive in the Persian Gulf and we impose our sovereignty right in the Persian Gulf very powerfully. … We observe confrontations and, as a matter of fact, debates between Iran and the foreign vessels in the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz on a daily basis and they always comply.

In May 2015, the IRGC’s Salami actually said that Iran wanted war with the United States:

We have prepared ourselves for the most dangerous scenarios and this is no big deal and is simple to digest for U.S.; we welcome war with the U.S. as we do believe that it will be the scene for our success to display the real potentials of our power.

With its ongoing harassment of U.S. ships, Iran is behaving now as if that war is upon us. Barack Obama has emboldened, empowered, and financed a nation that for decades now has consistently repeated its determination to defeat and destroy the United States….

I think it’s quite offensive that you would simply Persia as just being a great producer of carpets. It’s quite sad really that you could even JOKE about that.

    The Quran Hoax
With tall this new information for the above article is therefore very appropriate remind people that the entire foundation of this whole Islamic “Republic “of Iran is based on the “holy book” of Islam the Koran, as in 47;4. Some call this religious book, the Quran. All this leads to a very important question: “Is the Quran the Word of God or is it a fabrication of a man. Thus, is the Quran the truth or a fiction and a hoax ?” The jihadists use many verses from the Quran as the main source of justification for their violence, mayhem and murders. As found in For example, 4:89. 5:33. 9:5,111,123. The answer is clearly given on pages 145 through 157 in THE ISLAMIC INVASION by Robert Morey in which he wrote a section on the Quran with its self-contradictions. Just two of the many he cited are the following “The Quran differs on whether a day is a thousand years or fifty thousand years in God’s sight’ and “Who was first to believe? Abraham or Moses [Sura 6:14 versus 7:143]? The above is inconsistent and illogical. Further, Morey wrote about “The fact that Judaism and Christianity broke up into different sects was used in the Quran to prove that they are not of God [Suras 30:20-32. 42:13, 14]. Yet Islam has broken up into many warring sects and therefore cannot be true if the Quran is right.” Moreover, Morey in his book shows many more contradictions and absurdities in the Quran, there are and how Muhammad incorporated extra Biblical and Jewish folklore along with pre-Islamic Arabian myth and parts of Zoroastrian and Hindu stories into the Quran. Furthermore, the Muslims claim that “the Quran is the direct, literal word of God unmodified in any way by the Prophet who uttered them at the bidding of God.” Nevertheless, in the book UNVEILING ISLAM by Ergun Mehmet and Eethi Caner has shown that the Quran was modified in the following account on pages 45. “Muhammad felt the need to improve on the words of Allah, since he changed Allah’s wisdom for his own on several occasions. A hadith tells of the nonchalant emendations of Muhammad:’ On a number of occasions he [a scribe] had, with the Prophet’s consent changed the closing words of verses. For example, when the prophet had said ‘God is mighty and wise ‘ Adbollah b. Abi Sarh suggested writing down ‘Knowing and wise’ and the Prophet answered that there was no objection. Having observed a succession of changes of this type, Adbollah renounced Islam on the grounds that revelations, if from God could not be changed at the prompting of a scribe such as himself. After his apostasy he went to Mecca and joined the Qorayshites.’ Other writers reveal that later Muhammad and his people did go war with the Qorayshites and he personally killed Abdollah. Obviously Abdollah knew too much and Muhammad wanted Abdollah’s knowledge to die with him.” In conclusion, the Quran is not only a fiction, it’s also a hoax and therefore This Islamic regime rest on a “house of cards.” That is total and complete falsehood.

Since the current Islamic regime of Iran ,with all its hostile intent is entirely based on the Koran is is whole foundation the following is very fitting. A claim by Islamic scholars as well as jihadists is that no one can produce something as beautiful as the Quran in the way the words are arranged and thus it can only be of God. This claim should be answered.
First, all someone has to do is examine some of the great works of literature to fine much written beauty. Such as the Greek epic poet Homer with his Iliad and Odyssey and then Virgil who produced the Aeneid has beauty. Even one of the non-Bible books in the Apocrypha called The Song of Three Children is also very beautiful. Thus just because someone sees a work that is written in great beauty doesn’t mean it’s inspired by God.
Second, the scholar Edward Gibbon wrote after an examination of the Quran that it is an “incoherent jumble of fable and precept and declamation which seldom excites a sentiment or an idea, sometimes craws in the dust and is sometimes lost in the clouds…” The writer Thomas Carlyle wrote the Quran is “A wearisome jumble, crude, incondite [with] endless iterations [and] longwindedness…” Likewise, the philosopher David Hume was NOT favorably impressed after reading the Quran.
[Source of the three scholars mentioned – Secrets of The Koran: Revealing Insight Into Islam’s Holy Book .56,66, by Don Richardson]
Furthermore, the following should be taken into consideration. Of course the Muslim who reads the Quran will see great beauty in the way the words are arranged. This is, in part, because of the power of suggestion after being told so many times that the Quran is so beautifully written. That’s an old brainwashing method, repeating and being told that same thing again and again. Since he or she is always being told the same lie will end up believing that lie. In addition to that, the Imams try to discourage their people from reading other works, such as the Bible, so then they don’t have much or anything to compare or contrast the Quran with. Of course there are some Muslim’s that do read other works, but they are exceptions and they read other things only after they were already brainwashed by the Imams. In short, the Muslims can’t read the Quran objectively because their Imams have programmed them to have a strong bias towards it.

Thank you for your research efforts and pointing out the problems muslims have in accessing any other religious writings or critiques of the koran.
Likewise for pointing out that if it is the true word of god then why the amendments? Was god still thinking up new stuff?

It’s weird hearing the words of Muslims in positions of power. If you met someone who spoke like they do you would think they were mentally ill; paranooid, sociopath, psychopath, grandiosity, etc. But these are the old men who may or may not decide to end their lives by martyring the entire world.

On a personal note – Islam has to be the LEAST spiritual religion on Earth. And the imams and muftis and sheiks are NOT the people who should wield any power. It’s obvious, hearing their words, that their self-identity has been completely stripped of compassion, tolerance, wisdom, cooperation, humility, and honesty. And it is from that joyless, empty hole of hatred that they lash out at the Free World.

Well said! If you think of your statement, ” It’s obvious, hearing their words, that their self-identity has been completely stripped of compassion, tolerance, wisdom, cooperation, humility, and honesty. And it is from that joyless, empty hole of hatred that they lash out at the Free World.” Everything you list in this comment, is the exact opposite of what Jesus Christ is and instructs us to do the same. The qualities you list are exactly what one would expect to find in a satanic religion led by the anti-christ himself.

I don’t get how the Iranians could possibly think they could get away with sinking a USN Carrier, their understanding of military tech must be as basic as their nation’s intelligence ..

Surely all the BS is for internal consumption ….

If those idiots in Washington knew a little bit about Persian history, they would know that Persia (modern day Iran) never has and never will respect weak leaders. And Obama is weak, as well as stupid. He has surrounded himself with yes-men and doesn’t know shit about anything. No matter how pro-Islamic his talks and his actions are, Iran will continue to despise him. The same way that ISIS despises this stupid Pope regardless of how much he sucks up to Muslims. Vote Trump.

I am absolutely no fan of Iran but I saw the video of that so called “harassment”. Those were justridiculously tiny boats honking their horns that could hardly pose any threat to a US warship. To call that harassment is an exaggeration, like practically everything the MSM spews out.
According to Stars and Stripes, the American military magazine, they were actually inside Iran’s territorial waters. Of course they can, because the US is exceptional. No other country does this. It’s a shame.
It had been mentioned on several websites, one of them an Israeli website, that the hope was to provoke Iran into reacting. The hope was that the US would manage to provoke Iran, so that Iran would attack.
Just imagine Iranian warships would approach US coastal waters in such a manner!
