Exposing the role that Islamic jihad theology and ideology play in the modern global conflicts

UK Christian clergy told not to wear clerical collars in public for fear of ISIS jihad attack

Aug 31, 2016 12:28 pm By Robert Spencer

Much of the UK’s Christian clergy, as well as its government, can stand up and take a bow for this one. It was they who implemented and applauded immigration policies that make it easy for Islamic State jihadis to get into Britain. It was they who stigmatized opposition to mass Muslim migration as racism, bigotry and Islamophobia. Now they are living in the Britain they made.

Rowan-WIlliams

“Vicars are told not to wear dog collars in public as experts fear ISIS will target British church in next attack,” by Alexander Ward, Daily Mail, August 31, 2016:

Vicars have been told not to wear dog collars in public over fears that Islamic State will target a British church in its next attack.

One man of the cloth said he has been advised not to wear his dog collar out and about amid fears he could be singled out in a terror attack.

It has also been suggested UK church congregations should have a ‘bouncer’ on the door so that worshippers at small parish churches are more protected.

National Churchwatch has warned smaller churches are at more risk than larger ones and issued new guidance following the murder of a French priest last month.

The advice includes instructions to buy CCTV and carry personal attack alarms.

The vicar, who did not want to be named, told the Daily Mirror: ‘I’ve been told not to wear my dog collar in public to identify myself.

‘I’ve also been told not to be alone in the church but it would cost too much to pay someone to come with me to open up each day.’

The draft 12-page document by National Churchwatch says that churches need to make sure doors can be bolted and that worshippers are aware of what to do in the event they spot anything suspicious, the Daily Telegraph reported.

The paper was written by Nick Tolson, who has also advised the Home Office on its places of worship security committee. …

      Well our political leaders have buckled.

      But they at least probably still have a chance in the afterlife to plead their case because they’ll be switching bosses.

      Our religious leaders however, if they “Deny their Faith” will only be meeting their boss for the first time, and first and last evaluation of job performance too.

      Christians need to stick up for themselves better and get tougher against people who discredit them for believing Jesus is going to come out here and do something. Some words in the bible indicate technology is a factor in the temporary absence of Jesus. One of these places is in Joel 2, where he prophecied people will die in the air someday. Paul also said new ways of murdering people had to be invented before Jesus could return. These words buy some time for the belief in His return. It is promising for Christians that these miracles have occurred. And these words about the import of technological advances show those who attack Christianity aren’t as informed or as rational as they claim to be as they are throwing out this evidence which is in favor in the return of Jesus.

          But what or who is God? To me God is Life and Life is God. it really is that simple. When life ends then God is gone. These so called Islamists don’t worship or value God otherwise they would not behave with such barbarity.
          We should adopt a no tolerance policy towards all acts of barbarity and savagery and end the lives that commit these acts.
          I couldn’t care less about what so called religion the perpetrators claim to follow for there is only one course to eradicate this problem.
          Trembling UK clergymen are not the ones to solve this problem for they are part of it.

    You know you are not a good Catholic if you even question the peaceful nature of Islam. Msgr Swet has made that quite clear.

    The Pope has declared that Islam is peaceful – and as Msgr Swet points out – you just can’t argue with that!

    I wonder if they will still say that Islam = Peace while the last Muslim knife slices into the last Christine neck in St Peter’s Square.

    Silly me – there will be nobody left to say it.

        Pope Francis has declared himself infallible when he defines OTHER RELIGIONS besides his own.

        Finally, the Church of England has some clergy who realize the gravity of the threat to Christians.

        Christians need to start being ‘AS WISE AS SERPENTS’. The jihadists are coming and will not announce their arrival.

          Infallibility is restricted to doctrines that all Catholics are required to believe, and to matters of morals. The Pope will have to clearly announce that his views about Mohammedanism is in the required category before that word will be considered infallible.

    This has been normal in the US since 9/11. Congregations have had numerous suspicious “visits” by Muslims and other “unusual” people causing concern, alarm and here and there a mass killing. But the confused congregants still seem to be afraid to take action to protect themselves. “It couldn’t happen here!” is the common refrain. But it can. This could be a good time to examine social and religious priorities. Do we really need to hang around with people who don’t care about their own safety. If they don’t care about their’s what about ours? Time to find new and real friends.

      This is not the case. I live not far from my city’s main cathedral. Priests wear their clerical collars in public all the time. I have not heard of any diktat that they not do so. The idea that there has been a ban in wearing clerical collars in public in the US since 9/11 is quite mistaken.

      • Frank Anderson says

        Aug 31, 2016 at 6:33 pm

        It depends on the congregation. I have seen a Muslim observe the activities of a Jewish congregation for a year prior to 9/11, and then go to alarming conduct after. There have been suspicious visitors who left packages that could easily been “not what they seem”. That started 16 years ago and does not appear to be getting better with the flood of new “refugees”.

          Oh, I agree that all of us are under increased threat from Muslims–especially churches and synagogues. I just meant that I had not heard of any formal call for anyone not to wear clerical collars or other religious symbols.

        • Frank Anderson says

          Aug 31, 2016 at 9:49 pm

          And I would certainly agree with you that no “formal” call has been made by governmental officials. We also agree that there is an ongoing campaign to intimidate infidels into surrendering to the demands of muslims who are conquering us by demography and violence.

          Every PC “leader” who tries to quell inquiry and opposition to an ideology that would cheerfully march us into a gas chamber, burn us alive, slit our throats, rape and pillage, . . . should be set aside from all leadership and ignored while sane and aware people, starting, as is attributed to Jesus, with ourselves, make decisions to improve our future. Jerusalem is both a place and a state of mind. Remember that Auschwitz had a band playing to comfort those on the way to the gas chambers. These PC leaders are our new band.

      Any clergy too frightened to wear a collar should seek solace from a bishop or other counsel. My husband is a minister, and it’s important for him to wear his collar, especially in public. If anything bad happens, people know who to approach for comfort.

    That should help. I wonder if the bouncer will be able to stop 7.62mm bullets?

    Oh wait, I almost forgot, the Brits have managed to control access to firearms.

    I guess the bouncer from the local pub will suffice.

    • jayell says

      Aug 31, 2016 at 4:00 pm

      This ‘bouncer’ idea was a serious official suggestion intended initially for smaller churches in certain locations – and suggested locations, according to the spokeman, included northern/midlands English towns such as Birmingham and Bolton. Now, what religion – apart from Christianity- is particularly evident in these two towns that just happened to have been mentioned here? Surely not that of the Great Prophet! The trouble is that this initiative is almost like slamming the stable door after the horse has bolted. The church generally has already suffered in towns like the two mentioned with churches being damaged and even burned down, and clergy being harrassed and assaulted, and we hardly get to hear about it; and in London’s East End clergy have been beaten up by muslim youths on at least two occasions in the last few years (when it actually got into the press – what when it didn’t?). Yet when people say unkind things about islam and our muslim ‘friends’, or perpetrate some kind of minor misdemeanour against an islamic target, it’s a case of ‘Tell Mama’ or some other kind of hyper-publicised self-righteous, hand wringing ‘look-at-me-poor-victim’ interminable whinging from Our Friends Of the Prophet. Unfortunately, like the Boy Who Cried Wolf, this all starts to backfire when the public consciousness becomes immune to the incessant whinging and complaining; and then starts backfiring spectacularly when it becomes known when the ‘Boy’ wasn’t ‘crying Wolf’, he was a juvenile delinquent with a record as long as your arm.

    One God, or different deities?
    The word “Allah” today simply means “the deity”, so religions other than Islam also use this word in Arabic to refer to their gods. This does not mean that they are the same spiritual entity, we have to consider their attributes as revealed in the sacred writings to discover whether or not they are the same. The Koran says; (9:2) “ye cannot escape Allah…”, (113:2) “…the evil He created”, (74:56) “He is the fount of fear”, (16:70); “Allah… causeth you to die”, (22:6) “Allah quickeneth the dead”, (32:13) “will fill hell with the jinn and mankind together”, (2:167) “They will never get out of the fire”. From such verses it is very apparent that Islamic Allah is not the same as the God of the Bible who is described very differently; “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but have eternal life” (Gospel of John 3:16), “God is love” (1 John 4:8), “Save others by snatching them out of the fire (of going to hell)” (Jude 1:23), “He is not the God of the dead but of the living” (Gospel of Mark 12:27). Islam’s Allah is very clearly not the same as the God of the Christians and Jews.

    There is no god but God, so who is Allah?
    Is Allah the Satan of the Bible? As we have seen Allah admits urging people into hell, he and his fallen angels are in charge there (74:30); “have We not only appointed angels to be wardens of the Fire…”. He assigns a demon to each Muslim (7:27); “We appointed devils as companions…” and thus fits Satan’s description as “Beelzebub, Prince of Demons”.

    The Star and Crescent
    One of the “Seven Wonders of the Ancient World”, was “the temple of great Artemis, of her image (idol) which fell from heaven” (Book of Acts 19:35). Artemis is the Greek name for the crescent moon goddess Diana and her image was much like Mecca’s Black Stone. John of Damascus in the Fount of Knowledge tells that the Black Stone has the likeness of Aphrodite (the Greek name for Venus), “who they (the Arabs) named Akbar in their own language”. Hence that Islamist shout of “Allahu Akbar” really is an invocation of the ancient goddess of war Venus, whose symbol is a five-pointed star. During WW2 author John Van Ess visiting the Ka’aba noted; “in one corner is the Black Stone, probably a meteorite, the kissing of which is now an essential part of the pilgrimage”. If the Hajj Pilgrimage and the direction of prayer of all Muslims are focussed on this egg shaped idol, once addressed as a female pagan deity, then it is evident, as many experts maintain, that Islam is actually paganism packaged as monotheism.

      A Muslim told me the following, so take it for what it’s worth. After a great battle with many killed by Big Mo (May piss be upon him) and his cohorts, there was a clear sky and a crescent moon. Close to the moon was a brilliant star, I assume Venus. Big Mo (May pigs**t be upon him) took it as a sign that he was favored by Allah and took it became the Islamic flag.

Sharia law is discriminatory, misogynistic and draconian. In other words, against modern human rights law and discriminatory towards Christians. He was an uninformed self-made expert who knew virtually nothing about Islam. There are still too many clergy like him who refuse to do their basic homework on Islam, but preposterously, present themselves as experts on Islam.

      I have seen clergy who are completely delusional about Islam because they were taught in seminary from “Islamic scholars” from the overruled portions of the Koran. In spite of decades of experience after their seminary, they refuse to even consider whether they are in error. “Deliberate ignorance constitutes knowledge of the truth.” Wyle v R.J.Reynolds, 709 F.2d 585 (9th Cir. 1983). The clergy who teach the “religion of peace” mantra are liars worthy of scorn and disdain. They should be excluded from the leaders we follow.

      I am not an admirer of Rowan Williams. I have seen him in action, preening like a peacock. After the Christmas service in Canterbury Cathedral, which was, by the way mostly in Latin, he did a very puzzling thing. He starting marching up and down the aisles, out the door, in another door, and repeating this. Following him up and down the Aisles was the boy choir and a group of raggedy people, some with those wigs English lawyers wear, some women not in wigs just following along chatting to each other. It looked like Chaucer’s Canterbury Tales’ pilgrims. I said to the woman sitting next to me, an English woman, if she knew what was going on and she said she did not. So I then suggested that we leave before their next pass. And so we did.

      Rowan Williams has an aristocratic title. He is Baron Oystermouth. I swear that is true.

    National Churchwatch has warned smaller churches are at more risk than larger ones and issued new guidance following the murder of a French priest last month.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    “National Churchwatch”?
    Hmm, never heard of them until now …
    http://www.nationalchurchestrust.org/national-churchwatch
    “National Churchwatch is an independent organisation run by Nick Tolson that provides advice on crime and security for places of worship. It has been in existence since April 2000. Initially the organisation concentrated on encouraging and supporting the creation of churchwatches all over the country to reduce crime against churches and other places of worship. National Churchwatch now specialises more and more with personal safety advice for clergy and churchworkers.”
    Are islam & company the driving force behind this organisation? Probably!
    What’s so annoying about this story – is that the writing has been on the wall for years. Any suggestion that violence from portions of Islam would fundamentally affect the way we live – was shut down as if it were an incitement to violence in itself.
    Even when Europe was under Nazi assault the church was a safe haven – take a look at the Sound of Music!
    How did we get here is the question?
    One look at some of the documents in the DCLeaks – it’s clear the agenda and the tactics of the Soros band of activists – who actively set out to call people racists and name and shame anyone who might question the problematic aspects of Islam – as it conflicts with their open borders agenda. For example, activist groups could be defunded for supporting Israel. So we seemingly have hundreds of European and US activist groups in total agreement on a very specific range of issues. These Leftwing activists are required to sing from the same hymn sheet – otherwise Lord Soros will defund them.
    However as the range of the public opinions is diminished – so does the level of security.
    The funding of these groups developed to berate citizens into a set of ideas acceptable to the benefactor should be seen as a matter for national security. Because what they would have us believe – the opposite is true.
    In order for a group of activists to remain on the Soros gravy train – our societies become less secure and our way of life increasingly under assault.
      I try not to watch “The Sound if Music” too often. Don’t want to get diabetes. I don’t really think we can take this drama as actual history of the Church or Nazis. But the Trapp Family does have a lovely Inn in New England.
    To Christianblood- As per your 7:31 pm post of Aug. 31, 2016 you stated that Christian clergymen wearing their collars will only embolden the Islamists. So what? Who cares? Clergymen have no regulation dress code set by the government or any other outside party! Furthermore, I am repeating here a comment I read on PamelaGeller.com about this issue: During WWII when the Nazis told the Danish government that all Jews had to wear a yellow Star of David for identification purposes, the King of Denmark and everyone else in Denmark who was not a Jew and wanted to voluntarily wear a Star of David in sympathy with the Jews, did so. How cool is that? I would definitely wear a clerical white collar to stand with Christian clergy. I need to find out where to buy one.
    • Frank Anderson says
      Aug 31, 2016 at 8:29 pm
      May I please “chime in” and add to your Denmark story? Not only did the King of Denmark put on a Star of David, he also informed the Nazi’s that there are no Jews here, only Danes. In approximately 48 hours the Danes collected every Jew they could find, gave them sufficient papers to get into Sweden, and got them out of the country. Out of approximately 8,000 Jews in Denmark, 400 died from age or infirmity. NOT ONE died at the hands of the Nazi’s. Truly unique. And truly honorable.
      Who will do that for us now? Where will we go? Our clergy of all faiths look very poor for their insight and understanding. They are too busy trying to lull us into a completely false notion of security that the gas chambers of jihad we are being forced into are only showers. They don’t want us to panic.
        I assure you I did not make it up. Included among my sources is a Dane born after WWII, whose family survived because of the exodus. I suggest the account is both heartening and frightening, because as I asked rehtorically, “Who will do it for us and where will we go for refuge in the impending muslim conquest?” I cannot see any reasonably available choices. Convert, Submit, Die or Fight? Where is Run?
          Frank, I’m sorry if I gave the impression that I thought you had made up the story. Actually, I have been familiar with this story for years–one of the bravest of ordinary people during the Holocaust.
          Denmark was the *only* country of Europe to systematically act to save their Jewish population. The Nazis would have sent any of these Danes–government officials, boat owners, sailors, ordinary citizens who aided in the effort– to concentration camps themselves if they had been caught.
          Here is the basic story:
          “Rescue in Denmark”
          https://www.ushmm.org/outreach/en/article.php?ModuleId=10007740
          Kudos to Sweden for their role, as well.
          The first time I heard this story was at a Holocaust Memorial service just a few years ago. I had no idea that you were questioning my account. I wanted to share it with others, because as much history as I had read and watched, I did not hear of this until I was over 50 years old. I had the good fortune at the time to know a Dane who came to the US to live and be one of the very nicest, most courteous and civil people I have ever met.
          With greatest respect to all who read these comments, the story illustrates the horrible condition we as infidels face if the new Nazi’s get control. Either we prevent their taking control, or we die as individuals and a civilization of rights and liberties. I may beat cruelly the statement of Jorge Santayana, “Those who cannot remember the lessons of the past are condemned to repeat them.” The Life of Reason (1905).
          There is ample evidence being shown on AHC in the US (Secret Files: Nazi Jihad) to prove a clear connection from the Nazi’s of WWII to the current terror groups through Hitler’s personal emissary of violence and death, Otto Skorzeny. The current and impending holocaust is little more than a continuation of the first. The first was denied and ignored until Allied troops entered the camps, in spite of photos and accounts circulating for years. The current holocaust is similarly being denied and ignored until . . .?
    It was Rowan Williams who pushed for England to have Sharia Courts. England is Islamic. London has a Muslim Meyer. So, what do they expect? And this Pope will never side with Christians, because he is an apostate. In fact, the last three popes have been apostates.       A few years before Williams retired as archbishop, he formally went to a Druid induction ceremony and became a Druid. And if you had seen his behavior on that Christmas day, you would know that whatever else he may be, he is an apostate from the Church of England. I am not a Christian, but I was embarrassed for him.
    It would surprise me if many Vicars would take off their “dog collars” before venturing down the street to avoid a jihadi attack. Surely to do so would suggest a certain cowardice and reluctance to be a martyr? I would have thought willingness to make the ultimate sacrifice for their faith would be fairly high in the job description they signed on for? Mind you, it might sort out the sheep from the goats.
    The suggestion is preposterous, akin to it being illegal to have a Bible in Saudia Arabia.
    Besides, do Mohammedens not call us all “Crusaders”, regardless of the differences we see between ourselves?
    If not a collar that “incites” them (i.e. Is named as justification) then a police uniform or being “naked” (i.e. not in hijab) or ham or wearing a crucifix or . . .
    Amusing to see that after so many tens of thousands of christians have been murdered, raped and sold into slavery by the ” religion of peace and love ” around the world, that the church now seems to be finally accepting that islam is a threat to our faith, and way of life. Maybe if they kill the pope and the archbishop of the church of england, they will demand something is done about the threat of islam.
    Am i getting this right? Our Christian brothers and sisters throughout the Middle East are suffering murderous assaults. And the response of the Church of England is…
    To tell the local clergy to go about in mufti to stay safe.
    Am I getting any of this wrong? Because if I’m not, I’m suspecting our “Christian” clergy is getting Christ all wrong.
    • Linde Barrera says
      Sep 2, 2016 at 9:39 am
      To Westpac Spy- I think you are getting it right. And our Christian brothers and sisters are not just suffering in the Middle East but in Asia and Africa too. And as Robert Spencer has pointed out, now there are former Muslims who converted to Christianity in Germany who are under attack in the refugee camps. I am corresponding via instant message with a man who is a Pakistani Christian and living in Thailand. He fled to Thailand due to being persecuted by Muslims in Pakistan. There are over 11,000 Pakistani Christians in exile in Thailand. He said the UNHCR is supposed to be assisting refugees but they have refusrd to issue visas to this man and his family. This man claims the only way he can get out of Thailand is by a church group in Canada sponsoring him and his family. If this man is stating the truth, how awful is it to be holed up somewhere and not know what your life will be like from one day to the next? I mean nobody is promised tomorrow, but shouldn’t governments the world over be trying to protect all law abiding citizens so they don’t have to seek refuge elsewhere? I keep forgetting that Muslim majority Islamic governments are under no obligation to aid those who are not Muslim. And the UN is biased in favor is Islam. So this is a dreadful situation. I pray for these people and those like them.
