“Muslim inmates would have had to worship in their cells but officials were concerned that it would have led to discontent and unrest within the wider jail population.”
“We can’t do that, because it would make them angry” is the stratagem of a defeated and fearful people.
“We will ensure that governors use their existing powers to remove prisoners from corporate worship where they are behaving subversively or promoting beliefs that run counter to fundamental British values.”
Oh, yes, that will work. Remember: the British government doesn’t even admit that there is any connection between Islam and terrorism. How will they know when inmates are “behaving subversively”?
“Plans to ban Friday prayers in prisons amid Islamist extremism fears REJECTED by ministers,” by Patrick Christys, Express, August 23, 2016 (thanks to Lookmann):
PLANS to scrap Friday prayers in prisons amid fears they are being hijacked by Islamist terrorists have been vetoed by worried ministers.
Muslim inmates would have had to worship in their cells but officials were concerned that it would have led to discontent and unrest within the wider jail population.
A review into Islamist extremism in prisons, conducted by the Ministry of Justice, recommended a tougher approach should be taken towards troublemakers at Friday prayers.
The Justice Ministry also rejected the appointment of a counterterrorism advisor in prisons, who would have been accountable directly to the Justice Secretary and responsible for an over-arching counter-extremism strategy.
A spokesperson for the Ministry of Justice said: “We will ensure that governors use their existing powers to remove prisoners from corporate worship where they are behaving subversively or promoting beliefs that run counter to fundamental British values.
“We do not, however, believe it is the right course of action at present to alter the provision of worship more generally or to pursue in-cell alternatives.”…

I’m British and I despair of the short-termist, media-sensitive public schoolboys who can’t rock the boat and deal with a problem until it’s time to put the lower classes in uniform to kill people who THEY allowed to feel entitled to rule the world. This is reminiscent of the last few years before WWII. Only now it wlll be fought in Britain as a civil war, and civil wars are much nastier than international wars.
When will our establishment wake up and stop passing the buck?

Oh, they know what they are doing. They are implementing the Coudenhove-Kalergi Plan as decreed by the EU and their masters in the Bilderberg Group. It explains everything that has been going on for the last 50 years, slowly at first whilst they get their chosen people in place in all UK institutions, now rapidly and proceeding all over Western Europe. What amazes me is that so few people know about it. And even if you tell them, they won’t believe it It’s all part of the New World Order.

“We are grateful to the Washington Post, The New York Times, Time
Magazine and other great publications whose directors have attended
our meetings and respected their promises of discretion for almost
forty years. It would have been impossible for us to develop our plan for the world
if we had been subjected to the lights of publicity during those years.
But, the world is now more sophisticated and prepared to march towards a
world government. The supranational sovereignty of an intellectual elite
and world bankers is surely preferable to the national auto-determination practiced in past centuries.”

Note how he praises the media for keeping their silence for almost 40 years. The conspiracy is massive and has taken decades to orchestrate. I’m afraid we need something along the lines of the French Revolution to put Europe together again.

Prisons should be prisons, and not religious institutions or social clubs…
All sentences should be hard time…Your 5 rights are food, shelter clothing and to do as you are told…and no, you can’t pray on Friday and we won’t pay for your sex change operation,,,If you want that you need to be in a California prison……But we might let you play checkers if your behavior is goof…

In other words, if you do anything to oppose Jihad it will just…create more Jihad. Resistance is futile…

Yes, it is. And we are seeing this cringing dhimmitude throughout the West.

If the rest of the jail population is non-muslim, why would mohammedans ‘worshipping’ in their cells cause others to be discontented and unrestful ? This doesn’t even make *cockeyed* sense.
”A spokesperson for the Ministry of Justice said: “We will ensure that governors use their existing powers to remove prisoners from corporate worship where they are behaving subversively or promoting beliefs that run counter to fundamental British values.”
As Robert rightly points, since the government refuses to accept that islam *itself* is subversive and promotes beliefs counter to *our* values, this is just empty rhetoric.
“We do not, however, believe it is the right course of action at present … ”
No, of course not. They’ll wait for the next atrocity, and then say it has nothing to do with ‘true islam’.
God, if only *they* could be the next victims.
