If Rovinski is sincere in having left Islam, he is displaying a great deal of courage, as he will be in real danger from the Muslims in prison eager to enforce Islam’s death penalty for apostasy. If (and only if) he is sincere, this is a refreshing indication that some converts to Islam can step back from the precipice and realize that a god who is commanding them to commit treason and murder is not worth obeying.
“Geller: Muslim Who Plotted to Behead Me Returns to Catholicism, Plans to Plead Guilty,” by Pamela Geller, Breitbart, September 21, 2016:
The Boston Globe reported Tuesday that “one of the men charged earlier this year with supporting the terror group ISIS and conspiring to recruit others to a ‘martyrdom operations cell’ has agreed to plead guilty in federal court in Boston.
Nicholas Alexander Rovinski, 25, of Warwick, RI, was charged in June 2015 with conspiracy to support ISIS. He was later indicted on charges of conspiracy to commit acts of terrorism transcending national boundaries, and obstruction of justice, and faces life in prison. He is slated to plead guilty Thursday.”
He faces life in prison, but he is only going to get fifteen years. The government is working on a plea agreement with Rovinski, solely in order to ensure that he serves a lengthy sentence. There is a significant difference between Rovinski and his fellow jihad conspirator, David Wright: Rovinski came into the plot later in time, and played less of a role. The deal requires him to receive a sentence of at least 15 years if he pleads guilty to two counts.
The maximum sentence for aiding ISIS is 20 years. The first count in Rovinski’s case involves the initial charge against him: conspiracy to provide material support to ISIS. Prosecutors are unlikely to get a guilty verdict on that one, because while Rahim and Wright were both in touch with ISIS operatives in Syria, Rovinski was not. He reportedly has cerebral palsy and walks with a limp, and is very limited in speech and movement. Wright, not Rovinski, was the ringleader of the plan to behead me. The evidence is overwhelming against Wright.
In conversations that were recorded by law enforcement officials, Rovinski says very little. Rahim decided that he didn’t want to wait until July 4th, which was initially the day they had chosen for their jihad attack. He, of course, eventually grew so impatient that he discarded the idea of traveling from Boston to New York to behead me, and suddenly decided to kill a police officer in Boston instead. In the conversations, Wright exhorts Rahim to stay firm, very much like the Blind Sheikh in the plotting of the 1993 jihad attack against the World Trade Center. Wright is speaking constantly. Rovinski is hardly heard.
I am cautious. Rovinski wrote two letters from prison to Wright. He was still calling for beheading and clearly was a convinced and committed jihad terrorist, eager to murder for Allah.
Authorities are hiding the fact that Nicholas Rovinski has left Islam and returned to Catholicism, but I was told this by the prosecutor in the case, Stephanie Siegmann. The prosecutor has told me that he has not only renounced Islam, but done so publicly, and has returned to the Catholic Church. If that is true, he will not be part of the privileged Muslim population in prison, and will not receive the perks they receive (better food, more time outside the cell for prayers, etc.). He may also be in danger from Muslim inmates who want to enforce Islam’s death penalty for apostasy.
The Rahim/Wright/Rovinski jihad plot was to behead me, but of course, Boston Globe reporter Milton J. Valencia (milton.valencia@globe.com) never bothered to ask me for comment. It’s typical of an enemedia that is only interested in allowing pro-jihad, pro-sharia voices to be heard.
Bottom line. If it were up to me these people would be designated enemy combatants. This is not a law enforcement issue. This is war. But until we get a Commander-in-Chief who understands this, we have to go with what we’ve got.

God bless Pamela Geller, Robert Spencer, David Horowitz, Jamie Glazov, Annie Cyrus and all who work with these brilliant champions of freedom of speech, freedom of religion, freedom of the press, freedom to assemble and freedom to bear arms. There is hope for America because of people like them. They are my heroes.

Hear, hear, Linde!
Linde Barrera says
Thank you gravenimage. I always love to read your comments, especially to the trolls! You have such razor sharp reasoning skills that leave others in the dust. Take care my anti-jihad friend.
gravenimage says
Thank you, Linde. I always love to read your comments, as well.
mortimer says
Thanks Linde. That goes twice for me! Well done, Pamela! Well done, Robert.
You get flak when you are RIGHT OVER THE TARGET!
Linde Barrera says
Always love to read your comments, mortimer. Stay sharp.

Angemon says
I second those feelings, Linde 🙂
Linde Barrera says
To Angemon- Thank you! It is a beautiful thing to get compliments from one’s colleagues, if I may call you that! And I have been reading your responses to various anti-jihad commenters here, particularly the Kosovo-Serbia topic, Angemon. I have to admit that subject is very complex and difficult to wrap my mind around, but you helped make it a little clearer. And truthfully, I don’t think too many of the news broadcasters and paper journalists really understood what was going on either, due to their lack of knowledge on the subject of Islam. ?Take care Angemon.
Champ says
Brava, Linde!! So true!!
Linde Barrera says
To Champ- Thank you dear. Hope you are doing good and not being heckled by Rezali Mehil! I have not seen “her” comment here for a while, but maybe “she” has, and I missed it. I will never forget that “she” called you and I “phoney” Christians because we advocate self-defense!
Champ says
Hi Linde, thankfully I haven’t seen any recent comments from rezali either. And of course we’re being called “phoney Christians” …or whatever else mohammedans can throw at us, since hating non-muslims is allah and quran approved. So if we aren’t being called “phoney Christians”, then it’s something else designed to demonize non-muslims. Take care, my dear friend 🙂
gravenimage says
This is typical for Rezali Mehil–she often comes by for a few days dropping her foul comments, and then disappears for weeks or months at a time before turning up again.

Muslim who plotted to behead Pamela Geller returns to Catholicism, plans to plead guilty
……………………………..
Huh. I am *very much* for repentance, and atonement, and for renouncing evil and starting a new life–in a religious *or* a secular context. People can and do change.
But I am wary of this. Some people do change in the proverbial sudden revelation, but most come to realize that what they did was wrong in stages, with some backsliding and confusion, and ultimately with a great deal of contemplation until they commit to the change.
Nicholas Alexander Rovinski was still calling for the beheading of Ms. Geller just a few months ago at most.
If he *has* renounced Islam and the Jihad, then I am glad. Certainly, his pleading guilty may be considered a good sign.
Or not. It is one of the oddities of Islam that Jihadists can virtually interchangeably plead guilty or innocent in an Infidel court of law–or even refuse to plead at all, not recognizing the authority of the proceedings, and just have the judge put in a pro forma innocent plea.
An innocent plea can just mean that they would not be so charged if the court were an Islamic one. A guilty plea can just mean that they proudly admit that they waged Jihad or planned to do so, not that they consider it wrong.
If Nicholas Alexander Rovinski really has left his foul creed, I hope he stays safe from the Muslims in prison who would be sure to target an apostate.
Myrtle Linder says
We all backslide sooner or later and commit sin, again!!!
gravenimage says
This is true, Myrtle–we are all deeply fallible. Most of us are not plotting to behead anyone, though…
vlparker says
Yeah, I hear ya. Switching back and forth between Catholicism and islam is kinda hard to swallow considering that they have nothing in common (unless, of course, you are the pope or a cardinal or bishop).
TruthWFree says
Had lots of arguments with Catholic priests who say “We all worship the same God”. Basically told one that the allah god is Satan and for him to say “same God”, he is blaspheming my God by equating the Father of Jesus Christ to Satan.
Linde Barrera says
To TruthWFree- Thank you for having the guts to call out your priest. Sounds like he buys into the “Islam is a Religion of Peace” mantra. While I was writing this to you, I just had a thought! I think we at JihadWatch.org should say to anyone like your priest: “You must have the ‘Islam is the Religion of Peace’ Syndrome. I feel sorry for your ignorance.”
John Stefan says
I am very surprised at the pope and the priests that follow him. It is so very easy to see that allah and the Trinity are not the same God. He who denies Christ’s sufferings and death and also His resurrection and also deny His deity cannot be believing in the true God. Priests together with this pope Francis need to study and finally learn what the Bible teaches. In these crazy days not only is the world all mixed up so are some priests together with their pope all mixed up. Very sad.
Dennis says
You can change from one religion to another. But the violent mind will continue and find another object!
gravenimage says
Not always, There are some apostates from Islam–such as Nonie Darwish–who fully embrace their new faith. There are others like the Shoebats where this is much less clear. Here they are–nominal converts to Christianity–threatening the same brave Pamela Geller with death:

mortimer says
Pray for Rovinski in prison. He is a sinner who repented.
gravenimage says
I hope so. Time will tell.
DAI says
Pray for him!! no way!! he was going to murder but got caught. shoot him I say.
John Stefan says
There is a hell for unrepentant sinners. It may give us joy that unrepentant Muhammad is in hell, and all who are following his wicked example will be with him and the wicked angels. But may God help us to pray for our enemies which I find difficult to do and to also pray for the repentant sinners. Jesus did it and God wants us to follow His example. God help us all to do what’s right. For His Son’s sake may God bless our sinful nation and save us from our enemies, the unrepentant Muhammadans who want our downfall..

Taqiyya?
Schrödinger says
Sure he wishes to return to Catholicism. Sure he’s genuinely remorseful.
An erstwhile jihadist? Rovinski is a sworn for life member of the Dead Poet’s Society known as islam. He’ll now be likely given protective custody. And not because he walks with a limp.
Pam, keep blogging and informing the world of the truth of this hideous Dark Ages Death Cult — which, even in naming it thus, as you correctly point out, is very much a slur on the Dark Ages.
Muslim Taquiya needs to be a recognised motivation, practice and crime in Criminal Law and Statute. What a pity the Saudis won’t like that.
Angemon says
Treason gets a slap in the wrist, I see.
We’ll see how this plays out.
Rich says
We love you, Pamela! You do great work. May God bless you and protect you always.
Peggy says
.. The 15 years will likely end up being 7. If he has converted, that may be good for him, but it doesn’t change what he did. It should not change his sentence one iota. He can spend his years working on making reparation to those he harmed and those he intended to harm.
abad says
If he has truly repented (turned away from Islam) then good, he has no need at all to be making declarations such as beheading for ISL, he will get an education, get a job, get a real life, as he will not have time to make such threats.
citycat says
If he is mentally ill he may just go with whoever is around him.
He just said stuff? Someone else may be responsible for persuading him to say or do stuff.
He has to also have the Islamic stuff deprogrammed, like all Muslims do really.
dumbledoresarmy says
Easy enough to see whether he has genuinely repented.
If he *has*, he will plead guilty and submit cheerfully to the imposition of whatever punishment the law sets down; he will not demand parole; he will serve out the maximum sentence without complaining; he will seek the advice and counsel of a good and experienced priest… and it would be wise for him to ask the priest to find a good *exorcist* to assess him. Any priest getting involved with him should read “Liberty to the Captives” by Mark Durie, which has sound spiritual and practical advice for persons engaged in ministry to Dhimmis, to persons descended from dhimmi families, and to persons who have been Muslims and who have left Islam.
There is some fairly heavy spiritual work to be done.
gordon miller says
We Americans owe Pamela Geller our thanks and loyalty, as the threat of Islam looms in the horizon.
Please, Mr. and Mrs. and Ms. America, vote for Mr. Trump this November 8th.
ILIA TOLI says
I don’t buy it, just an opportunist. He knows that this is a very quick way out of prison. It’s possible that he’ll achieve through befriending Geller what he failed all-out. Taqiyya.
