In FrontPage this morning, I explain how the son of ex-jihadi shows that old jihadi habits die hard.
These are times that try men’s souls, and it happens occasionally that when tried, some souls reveal that they’re not what they appear to be. Several days ago, I received an email from an FBI special agent, saying that he wanted to speak with me and asking for contact information for Pamela Geller. The agent was looking for us, he told me when he got me on the phone, because he had a duty to notify us that the bureau had picked up word that a Muslim had mentioned our names and was looking for us in order to kill us. And now that jihadi has an unlikely ally, at least in wanting Pamela Geller dead: a putative foe of jihad terror, Theodore Shoebat.
Theodore Shoebat runs the website Shoebat.com, which many take as a reliable source for news of jihad activity that the mainstream media does not deign to report. Shoebat.com, however, has a reputation for sensationalistic unreliability: to take one notorious example, it posted a photo of a young German woman holding a sign reading, “Will Trade Racists For Rapists.” Amazing! Shocking! Astonishing proof of the suicidal stupidity of the European Left! There was just one catch: the sign was photoshopped. The original read, “Will Trade Racists for Refugees.” Shoebat.com never acknowledged this or retracted its original post.
In this, the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. Theodore Shoebat is the son of Walid Shoebat, who styles himself an ex-Muslim and reformed jihadist. Walid Shoebat, who certainly has demonstrated a broad knowledge of Islam and the jihad threat, has been challenged repeatedly, most notably on CNN, to substantiate his claims about his past. Several years ago I myself gave him a chance to answer all the charges against his veracity in a video interview; in purporting to do so, Walid Shoebat talked for a long time, said very little of substance, and left the principal charges of his own dishonesty unanswered. In personal exchanges more recently, I was struck by his dishonesty again.
And now this. In a video posted last Thursday, Theodore Shoebat says: “Pamela Geller is worthy of death.” Her crime? Appearing at a “Gays for Trump” event along with gay activist Milo Yiannopoulos at the Republican National Convention in July. For that, says the learned Shoebat the younger, “In Biblical law, in the government of Christendom, she is worthy of death.”
Is that so? Yes, says Theodore, because Romans 1:32 speaks of those who “having known the justice of God, did not understand that they who do such things, are worthy of death, and not only they that do them, but they also that consent to them that do them.” Pamela Geller is not homosexual, you see, but by appearing at the event, she gave “consent” to those who are, and thus she also is “worthy of death.”
Theodore Shoebat doesn’t mention that this passage refers not only to men who “have burned in their lusts one towards another,” but also to those who are guilty of “iniquity, malice, fornication, avarice, wickedness,” and are “full of envy, murder, contention, deceit, malignity, whisperers,” as well as “detractors, hateful to God, contumelious, proud, haughty, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,” and those who are “foolish, dissolute, without affection, without fidelity, without mercy” (Romans 1:26-31). All of these people are, in the Apostle Paul’s view, “worthy of death.”
Why, then, do we not see Christians (or at least Christians outside of hysterical Hollywood fantasies) committing mass murder, bent on killing everyone who is envious, haughty, and disobedient to his parents? Because Paul’s saying that these people are “worthy of death” is not a call for mass executions and a reign of terror, but part of his argument that all people have sinned and are in need of the divine mercy.
In today’s overheated and jihad-preoccupied environment, however, Theodore Shoebat’s charge that Pamela Geller is worthy of death is not theological musing, but arguable incitement to murder. If his father was indeed a jihadi, Theodore’s words demonstrate that old habits and mindsets die hard, and aren’t always effaced by a change of creed: Theodore Shoebat, like his father in his jihadi days, apparently wants to see those who challenge his religious ideas dead, and thinks he is being righteous in calling for the deaths of those whom he hates.
In contrast, I oppose jihad terror and Islamic supremacism not because I want to substitute Christian supremacism for it, but because I believe in the extraordinary wisdom of the Founding Fathers in mandating that Congress shall not establish a state religion for the United States of America. In a society in which people will inevitably differ on fundamental questions, the idea that we must put up with one another and live peacefully despite our disagreements is our only alternative to a society in which the adherents of one religion (or secular belief-system) attempt to gain and enforce hegemony over their fellow citizens of other beliefs and creeds.
I don’t believe in Islam and don’t wish to live under a government that forces me to conform to its sensibilities; nor do I wish to live under a Christian government that forces non-Christians to conform to its sensibilities. This is not by any means to equate Islam with Christianity, or to engage in any moral equivalence between the two; Islam’s doctrines of warfare against and subjugation of unbelievers are without parallel in authentic or traditional Christianity. But that is not the Christianity of Theodore Shoebat.
Theodore Shoebat has substituted one tyranny for another. He represents what free people who wish to live in a free society must resist.

I have worked with a number of counter-Jihad bloggers, shoebat is seen as a curse, as all as all news stories have to be checked back to ensure he is not the original source, as he just makes stuff up, photoshops them himself or publishes suspect stories from obscure sources that have little credibility. One of the bloggers does publish his sourced stuff but always adds a disclaimer of who the source is. It’s a “buyers market” in counter-Jihad blogging, so much verified content rich news around, so why the hell does he do it? One blogger said he lives for the exclusives and can’t source any himself so makes them up, anyone have any other ideas?
He and his son really are some vile pieces of work giving Infidels a bad name, Thank you Mr Spencer for calling him out, as the most respected in the community it will mean a lot.

This is very sad to hear, it Theodore’s farther truly inspired me to read, study and research the bible. I must say as a christian, and not a very good one, i have wanted to deliver God’s wrath first hand and with all the fury i could muster. That being said i will pray for Theodore and all that are like him. Just remember in Psalms 144:

so i think as much as i would love to dispense out judgement on those i consider my enemy. But i will pray for Theodore and his father. Once more “religion” is revealed to be an absolute crock, causing more problems than it solves. Unfortunately it is so ingrained in people’s upbringing, as it has for multiple centuries, that people look to it to justify whatever they please – and they’ll find it tucked away somewhere in a “holy book.” Having faith in yourself, friends or family is fine, but having faith in some unknown, unproven identity that manifests itself quite differently in every religion defies any rational analysis.

No it doesn’t, G.R. Grunning. There is nothing irrational about having faith in certain phenomena, for instance some kind of higher power. Faith is different from assertion or denial and should be seen as such. Now I don’t have any religious faith but I know many who do, including the single most impressive person I have ever known personally, who is fluent in five languages and can discourse on anything from classical music to football, from auto mechanics to medieval history. Besides, why attack religion in toto when Christians, Hindus, religious Jews, Buddhists, Sikhs, are all needed in as broad of a coalition as possible to combat the ONE RELIGION which poses as the master faith and will, without any reluctance, use force in this world to spread itself? Reconsider, and be careful you don’t make a religion out of not having one.

Why I don’t have faith is just due to the way I’m constituted. Some people (actually most I believe) possess some kind of religious faith and others don’t. Aside from upbringing and personal experiences, I have long thought that having or not having religious faith is rooted in part in one’s biochemistry, or genes if you prefer. But having religious faith is not illogical, is not something that, per your words, “defies rational analysis,” and that was my principal point.
As for my bringing up the friend which I did, it was done to convey to you that even highly intelligent people have religious faith, believe in some religion and this should give one pause to reject it, as you did, as being nothing more than “an absolute crock.”
Moreover, and as I already indicated in my previous post, we need as unified a collation against the one religion which is spiritual fascism and has the entire world in its sights, so how smart is it to insult other religious people by conveying that all religion is, again in your words, “an absolute crock.”

What I did assert is that religious faith does not defy rational analysis. Perhaps another way of putting it is to draw a distinction between what is irrational and meta-rational. I would argue that religious faith is evidence of the latter and not the former. I believe have some support for this by way of a philosopher and theologian like Thomas Aquinas.

I subscribe for a while Shoebat daily letter. Father Shoebat believe end of times is for October 2016 , the 31st. He say it is written in the Bible one has just to read it .

And what does Paul say in Romans 6:23? — “The wages of sin is death.”
I.e., /all/ sinners deserve death. At some level, human death is a consequence of sin. The penalty is not one that is to be enforced by humans upon humans; it is an observation about ultimate judgment decreed and carried out by God.
Which is why we seek God’s forgiveness on the basis of divine grace, rather than on the basis of human merit.
This is not necessarily how that fellow is interpreting the opening chapters of Romans — but it could be. A simple observation of a specific case of the condemnation that sin brings upon us all, rather than any sort of personal threat.

Theodore is the son of Walid. I saw a video of them where they were having a skype conversation with another Islam-critic. In the video we see that Theodore believes gays should be killed, and seems to want people to engage in violence against gays without regard for the law. Walid is a bit more careful but supports his son’s views that gays should be killed. At one point in the interview Walid got annoyed with the Islam-critic they were on the call with, and threatened the Islam-critic with violence, because the Islam critic was challenging Walid and Theodore on their fascistic views. Both Walid and the son are anti-Islam, yet they seem never really to have escaped the mental horizon of the jihadist. Walid used to be interesting, but now he — and his jejunely repulsive hothead of a son — are obnoxious at best.

Yes–here’s what Theodore Shoebat had to say about the horrific Orlando Jihad massacre:
“Sodomites are criminals” and do not deserve the prayers of Christians. “The sodomites who were killed in this club were not innocent people. They were not good people. They were not people who were just victims who we should just feel sorry for. It was scum killing scum.”
He was terribly upset that anyone considered it bad for Muslims to slaughter gay people–he actually supports the Jihad killers.
In his video on the issue, he goes on and on about the victims not being innocent–this is, in fact, *exactly* what Muslims say about their victims.

“I don’t believe in vigilantism, but I do believe in the government killing the sodomites,” he explained. “I do believe in the government arresting the sodomites and executing them for homosexuality. Under my rule, that sodomite club in Orlando, it would have been destroyed, it would have been demolished, bulldozed and all the bastards in there would have been arrested, tried, found guilty for homosexuality and executed.”
He then says that the purpose of the state is to *kill gay people*. Ugly, ugly stuff.

I think it may be. I had a run-in with a load of Catholics on the Shoebat site.
Because I was born into a Catholic family & was educated in Catholic schools
I felt qualified to put forward some criticism of the Catholic church. Having been one of them I was saying the kind of things I thought most Catholics would openly discuss. Most of them turned on me & I ended up being called all sorts of things. I was accused of being a “liar-never having been Catholic at all” They accused me of being a “Muslim”! In the end I was branded “not human & had no soul” And believe me the criticism I put forth was mild. No ‘Pope- is- the- antichrist’ Or anything like that. That experience was enough for me to decide I was out of there, I came off the mailing list. Unfortunately the Shoebats seem to have become militant & have developed a dislike & distrust of all denominations of Christians other than Catholic & Eastern Orthodox. They seem to think the rest of us will go to hell based on us not participating in Catholic rites. Sad, to come out out of Islam only to fall into a trap like that.

In an interview with the BBC sometime ago Walid Shoebat answered the claims of where he came from and gave proofs of his life in Palestine. He mentioned names of those who testified against him in court who could verify what he was saying regarding where he came from. He mentions his family from Palestine.

Although I deplore the call to violence against homosexual people or their supporters, most secular humanists and many self-described Christians are hypocritical. They demand the right of women to choose to violently end the life of the pre-born. This barbarism also has to be called out and stopped.
Abortion has killed over 55 million Americans since Roe v. Wade – through dismemberment and crushing injuries or burning chemicals. Approximately 16 million of these brutally murdered infants are African-American. When will this horror stop?

You can’t take Islam out of Muslims – at least not most of the time. It’s fed in the breast milk when they are babies and is part of their DNA. There is always a residue there even after they leave Islam. When they adopt another religion, they just transfer their Islamic fanaticism onto that new religion. We see it over and over again with these Muslim converts to Christianity. They are extreme. It’s not the kind of Christianity we are accustomed to. It’s an Islamic interpretation of Christianity.
You can hear that Theodor Shoebat is defensive of Muslims and almost sound offended at Pamela’s critique of them. We also think he attacks her because she is a Jew. That hatred of Jews is so ingrained, it’s part of their nature. You can change cover a wolf in wool but it doesn’t make it into a lamb.

All law is ultimately based on morality, that is what is considered right or wrong conduct. All morality is ultimately based on religion, or rather the worldview of a culture. This includes all worldviews including humanism, nihilism, apatheism, and atheism. A culture cannot exist with two contradictory worldviews and one will gain supremacy and enforce its moral code on the society. All societies seek consensus regarding morality and law. In the West, the worldview of Christianity has been displaced slowly and thus unperceptively over the last century (and even before back to the French Revolution when the dissidents against Christianity gained power and control by killing of thousands of religious and priests) and has been displaced by secular humanism. The current moral code and thus laws in the West, are dominated by secular humanism. They show complete intolerance to those that disagree with their faith or worldview, most particularly Christians. The secular humanists are even more friendly to Islam rather than their hated enemy Christianity. The intolerance shown in the West regarding enforcing homosexual marriage, abortion, contraception, divorce, pornography, and on and on are completely opposed to Christian sensibilities.
There is no such thing as secular government. One worldview or another is enforced by the society. Currently America is in transition from a Christian vision of society and culture to that of Secular Humanism. The transition is almost complete. Christianity will not be tolerated in the West, just because no violence is committed on a large scale as of yet does not mean that it won’t happen. Christianity has been privatized and has no say in the public square. It has almost zero impact on the culture at large because it has been attacked and suppressed for so long by the tyranny of relativism and secularism. Separation of Church and State were there so that Government does not interfere in the affairs of religion, not that religion could not have a say in the Government. Of course the founding father were children of the Enlightenment and thus followed the anti-christian principles of the movement (whether implicitly or explicitly) that eventually would lead to weakening and destruction of Christianity in the West. It is almost complete, they say that Christianity will be extinct in nine western countries by 2067.

This is disturbing because as I understand it Theodore Shoebat should have never been a Muslim.
I think Walid left the Middle East and settled in America & converted from Islam before he had a son.
He married a Mexican Catholic woman & I presume she would be Theodore’s mother.
I could be wrong but I didn’t think Theodore had a chance to be Muslim. Or did he?

I don’t believe that Theodore Shoebat was ever a practicing Muslim, Lucy. But he was raised by a man who had been not just Muslim, but according to his claims, an actual Jihadist. He may well have taught his son a lot of the twisted values of Islam, even if they were nominally clothed in another faith.

This is very strange, I remember seeing Walid on the documentary that originally introduced me to Robert Spender; ”Islam, What the West Needs to Know”. He seemed impressive then, I’ve seen or heard nothing from him since. It’s hard to imagine that he still harbours sympathy with the Jihad imperative.

I’ve gained a college education in Muslim studies and history from all of you. Rather than finding reasons to slander each other, isn’t it better to collaborate and have a general consensus of opinion? If you and Walid or Ted don’t agree, well………… Really, let’s not become divided on the greater goals. Personally I think it’s best by far to keep this kind of thing under wraps. I am grateful to Mr. Spencer for posting this article, and certainly would not want nor expect him to “keep this kind of thing under wraps”.
It seems obvious that when learning about islam– or anything else for that matter– knowing something beyond just the surface of your sources, and the sources’ beliefs on other issues, should be of vital concern.
It is eye-opening to discover this side of Shoebat & son.

Shoebat is a secret Muslim whose goal is tarnish the reputation of Christianity by making it appear as much like Islam as possible, and, in the process, make Islam appear better. The New Testament shows us very clearly that those Christians who unashamedly engage in sin must be separated from the Church, albeit only until they repent. Nowhere in the New Testament do we see a Christian being put to death by another Christian, despite the fact that Paul’s letters show that some so-called Christians were engaged in fornication, fraud and alcohol abuse. If self-professed Christians cannot be put to death by the Church, can the Church put unbelievers to death? Certainly not, since Paul tells us: “What business of mine is it to judge those outside the church? Are you not to judge those inside? God will judge those outside. “Expel the wicked man from among you.”” (1 Corinthians 5:12-13). Hence, Christianity NEVER condones the death penalty.

Well done Mr Spencer for upbraiding Theodore Shoebat. I somehow imagine that his father may be a little soft on him, for some reason. Shoebat senior apparently converted to Catholicism only recently and Theodore may still be struggling with this himself.
The Catholic Church is more exasperating than ever for young males under Pope Francis. I think Theodore is a good guy. My thought, for what it’s worth on a human level – yes, I know Mk 10:18. He said in a recent video that he is still a virgin. This is an example of heroic virtue nowadays – commendable and worthy of respect.
Pope Francis is a bad pope. Also – there is a season for everything. I don’t suspect that now is the time for literal Christian militancy/crusades. In the current milieu of rampant athiesm it would not satisfy just war doctrine.
Theodore should visit Medugorje or at the very least Caritas of Birmingham in Louisiana imo.

He says that “if I had the power, I would string them up. Put a noose around his neck. Put him before a firing squad. Any means necessary to annihilate these bastards”
I don’t know McInnes, and I may not agree with Yiannopoulos on all matters–I find him needlessly abrasive at times–but that is beside the point.
There is no excuse for threats like these.

You do not wish to live under a Christian government? I thought you were a Christian and awaiting the incoming Kingdom of Heaven which is to rule over the world in righteousness? Do you believe that Jesus Christ will tolerate homosexuality in his kingdom?
The fact of the matter is that homosexuality is condemned in the Bible – both in the Hebrew and Greek scriptures. It is unthinkable that a Christian or even a Jew should give any suggestion that such a lifestyle is acceptable – it is not!
Currently, homosexuals, fornicators, etc., are being called to repentance, but the time is coming when Jesus Christ, during his reign, will judge the world in righteousness – the scriptures are clear:
Revelation 22:15 For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie.
Meanwhile:
Revelation 22:11 He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still.
Homosexuals are notoriously anti-Christian, and for suppose Christians, and eve Jews, to become allied with the various groups that hate Christianity, is clearly unwise. These people are not for Christ otherwise they would do the thinks he has commanded.
Theodore Shoebat is correct when he states that those ‘approving’ or ‘consenting’ to such depravity are worthy of death. This is a true statement from the Apostle Paul. Jews and Christians know the righteous decrees of God as respects immorality of all types. How come, then, such ones ‘consent’ to this deviant, even abhorrent, behaviour which God has condemned?
And, in fact, if ever a human government could truly be called ‘Christian’, there would be nothing wrong with such a government using the death penalty for such crimes as were considered capital crimes in the Hebrew of Greek scriptures. Romans 13 makes clear that the governments act as a ‘sword’ to punish bad.
Vigilantism is clearly not acceptable and I have observed Theodore Shoebat make clear he is against vigilantism – thus, he is not calling for the murder of Pamela Geller.
Homosexuality and homosexuals generally are enemies of Christ and Christianity. Still, Christians are to love their enemies and pray for those persecuting them. Ideally, all such ones would stop their vile practices and become Christians – and, indeed, under the ruler-ship of Christi – with an iron rod – all will have to acknowledge Christ and bend the knee, as well as abandon their former lifestyles – conforming to the righteous requirements of the New Covenant. Otherwise, the fate of such individuals is as written:
Matthew 25:41 Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels…
