The initial reports about this killer said he was “Hispanic.” From the photos of him that were released, that always seemed to be more politically correct wishful thinking than reality.
There is a Facebook page for an Arcan Cetin who lives in Oak Harbor, Washington, where the shooter was apprehended. It says that he is from Adana, Turkey.
This may not have been jihad. There is nothing on his Facebook page to suggest he was devout, or had had a conversion. If he really called out a woman’s name, maybe it was some kind of psychopathic revenge killing or something of that kind. However, in light of the Islamic jihad attack at a Minnesota mall last week, and the jihadi threat against malls in the West, the possibility that this, too, was a jihad attack cannot be dismissed out of hand.

The man accused of killing five people inside a Washington state shopping mall has been named as Arcan Cetin. Around 7 p.m. September 23, a gunman opened fire inside a Macy’s store at the Cascade Mall in Burlington, Washington. Police describe the shooter as “darker complected” with his age estimated in the “late teens or early 20s.” The shooter fled the scene before police arrived and remains at large amid a massive manhunt. The fatal victims have been described as four females — ranking in age from a teenager to a “senior” — and one male. Their exact ages have not been released.
At a press conference Saturday morning, Lt. Chris Cammock of the Mount Vernon police said security footage captured the suspect, at first entering the mall unarmed and later entering the Macy’s store with a weapon, and police will release additional images to the public. Police said they recovered a rifle at the scene but would not disclose additional details of the weapon.
Here’s what we know so far:
1. It Was Reported That the Gunman Made Contact With Police While They Were Searching for HimPolice also released this surveillance photo of the man. One eyewitness, Joe Zavala, spoke to King 5 news. He said he was sitting outside the Macy’s store when he heard about eight or nine gunshots break out. “Then I saw a man pointing a gun and shooting people,” Zavala said to the news station. “And then I got up to look a little closer and he saw me, pointed the gun, and I took off running.” He said he saw victims – including two elderly women – lying on the floor. (Washington State Patrol)
KIRO’s Gary Horcher reported during the search that someone identifying himself as the shooter has contacted police. The shooting began just after 7 p.m. inside one of the Macy’s stores in the mall, reports KOMO. The store’s directory indicates that there are two Macy’s stores in the mall. KIRO’s Maria Guerrero reports that the shooting didn’t take place at the Macy’s home store.
The female victims were shot dead at Macy’s make-up desk. Authorities say that the suspect cased the area before going back out to get a gun. KING 5’s Chris Ingalls reports that the weapon is thought to have been a .22 caliber hunting rifle.
2. The Gunman Allegedly Called Out a Woman’s Name Before Opening FireWashington State Patrol Sgt. Mark Francis told the media that he couldn’t comment on reports that the gunman had called out a woman’s name before opening fire, according to Q13 Fox. The gunman was armed with what appeared to be a hunting rifle.
At press conference, Mount Vernon police Lt. Chris Cammock said, “I don’t know what his motivations were. I don’t know what his motivations were to do this. I don’t know what his motivations were to continue. I don’t know what his motivations were to stop.”…
4. The FBI Says No Additional Attacks Are Expected in the Area
In a tweet, the FBI’s Seattle office said they are assisting the investigation and that they have no information “to suggest additional attacks.” ATF officials are also aiding the Washington State Patrol in the search for answers….

I mentioned this to Robert yesterday and he didn’t post anything here until there was something solid on which to report. So, I’m sure Robert has done his homework on this and the report is reliable.

And not all people tell in advance what they are going to do. And some tell people they know who don’t come forward until after the shootings.

I don’t think it was a gun free zone. WA has must-issue carry permits (for now), and I’ve never seen signs prohibiting legal carry in shopping malls here. Also, it was 60 mi north of Seattle, but Seattle itself is known in WA as “80 square miles surrounded by common sense”, so your comment about the city was accurate.

In the UK, this story received minimal coverage. This attack on innocent shoppers should have resulted in major headlines. Unless it’s a massive Jihad incident in the West like Paris or 9/11 the media will go to great lengths to down play the seriousness of it and obscure any links to Islam. The incredibly worrying point here is that the authorities were so scared to indicate the attacker might be a Muslim they deliberately gave a false description to protect Muslims, which of course includes the attacker. That is unforgivable, had he gone to another mall to continue he would not have been identified.
It is too widespread to be a mistake, which begs the question, just how supportive of the Islamization of the West are our governments? Have they decided to sacrifice their people to support Muslims? It seems so because the accurate identification was essential for the protection of people in the area.

Like, for a local to assume this kid was anything but hispanic based of the blurry videos would have been kinda weird… that’s how huge the hispanic population is in Burlington, and it’s sister city Mt. A person can also hear evil voices at times too in a psychosis state. It was stated in another report that when he was arrested – he was in a zombie like state of mind. Any reporter – and any cop – worth their salt should right now be trying to find out whether this Turkish Muslim ‘immigrant’ (had he taken out citizenship yet, or is he on a residency visa?) has attended any mosque, or mosques, anywhere in the USA since he got out of the plane a year ago. Which mosques/ Where? The step father returned to the USA (Oak Harbor, WA) and it took a year to get mom and young son visas to come here too. No mall has security. Even if they have people wandering around in uniforms with patches sewn-on that say “Security” no malls have security. And, even if a mall has a police sub-station ~ usually nothing more than a storefront operation where cops write their reports and sip Orange Julius ~ malls do not have security. I’ve done multiple assessments on multiple malls run by different companies and found all of the security operations to be woefully lacking in every important discipline. There are a few STRAC security officers out there but they’re kept on a tight leash and threatened with legal action if they act beyond the scope of the “training” provided by their employer.
An example: a large security company (Allied Universal) is proud of their Active Shooter Response training, which I reviewed in a professional capacity a couple months ago. I got their training slides from one of their senior training managers. In the training, AU officers are directed that in any ASR, local law enforcement officers will respond “IMMEDIATELY” to the scene of the shooting so all they (AU officers) have to do is drive up to the exterior of the shooting site, set-up an incident command post so when the AU “leadership” arrives they all have somewhere to tap-dance. At that point, all AU will do is wait at the door for the “immediate” response of local LEO and open the door for you if you’re running outside from the shooter(s) inside. Let me be clear: Though AU officers are trained and armed with Glock .40’s, they will not enter the building to find and engage any shooter(s) because the rules of engagement set down in corporate training policy is just that: Wait outside for the “immediate” arrival of local cops and help those fleeing the building to get away from the building.

The point is that YOU have to be STRAC. You cannot depend on anyone but yourself in these situations. Trained and experienced in this discipline, I study and write about this all the time so I know exactly what I’m talking about.

This is reminiscent of the Ecole Polytechnique Massacre in Montreal in 1989 by Marc Lepine who shot 18 women and killed 14 saying he was fighting feminism. His French Canadian mother had married an abusive Algerian who despised women. Originally named Gamil Ghyarbi, the father left them and the boy later changed his name but seemed to have inherited the Muslim attitude toward women. The Turk’s killing of 5 near Seattle would probably relate to a similar motivation – he shouted one girl’s name and the other three were unfortunate to be nearby. This would not be categorized as a terrorist act by authorities but the entire Muslim culture is one of terrorism and cannot blend with civilization. If we wish to live in peace in our own country we have only one option and that is what I call the Queen Isabella Solution – throw them all out and allow no Muslim immigrants. Take possession of all mosques and auction them off. Give Muslim citizens an option to renounce their political ideology (Islam) or leave the country.

WHY did the mainstream media feel compelled to mention that it might be an Hispanic? How many Hispanics have been running around killing innocent people? Answer: None that I’ve heard about. They could have just said it was a young man with a dark-ish complexion, etc., and not African-American. I would like to apologize to all law-abiding Hispanics on behalf of my fellow non-Hispanic Americans.

In my last comment I asked why a Muslim has to be considered “radicalized ” or “Radical ” before they will call him a terrorist . Think about it –the media will not concede he is a terrorist because there are “no signs of terrorism” , or radicalization. You know how they always put it : “there is no evidence of terrorism ” .
This man Arcan Cetin , committed an act of terror. So I guess he just HAPPENS to be a Muslim.

Maybe it was a white guy with dark hair and a tan. The liberals, Hillary, and Obama was hoping it to be. Champ is right, it was obvious that he was not Hispanic. Is this another Obama narrative? How many times can he and his liberal friends blame others for what his Muslim brothers have done?

Need to check for connection or ideology from another direction: Turkish nationalist terror organization: the Gray Wolves (one of their adherents tried to kill Pope John Paul II). The Gray Wolves, contrary to what people may think, still functions, and Turkish nationalists are resentful of America.
