A hadith depicts Muhammad saying:
The Last Hour would not come until the Romans would land at al-A’maq or in Dabiq. An army consisting of the best (soldiers) of the people of the earth at that time will come from Medina (to counteract them). When they will arrange themselves in ranks, the Romans would say: Do not stand between us and those (Muslims) who took prisoners from amongst us. Let us fight with them; and the Muslims would say: Nay, by Allah, we would never get aside from you and from our brethren that you may fight them. They will then fight and a third (part) of the army would run away, whom Allah will never forgive. A third (part of the army) which would be constituted of excellent martyrs in Allah’s eye, would be killed and the third who would never be put to trial would win and they would be conquerors of Constantinople. And as they would be busy in distributing the spoils of war (amongst themselves) after hanging their swords by the olive trees, the Satan would cry: The Dajjal has taken your place among your family. They would then come out, but it would be of no avail. And when they would come to Syria, he would come out while they would be still preparing themselves for battle drawing up the ranks. Certainly, the time of prayer shall come and then Jesus (peace be upon him) son of Mary would descend and would lead them in prayer. When the enemy of Allah would see him, it would (disappear) just as the salt dissolves itself in water and if he (Jesus) were not to confront them at all, even then it would dissolve completely, but Allah would kill them by his hand and he would show them their blood on his lance (the lance of Jesus Christ). (Sahih Muslim 2897)
The Islamic State hoped to bring about the fulfillment of this “prophecy” within the next ten years, by drawing the United States into a huge battle between the Muslims and the non-Muslims at Dabiq, that would result in the return of Jesus the Muslim prophet to the earth and the beginning of the Islamic vision of the End Times.
This hope was always nonsense, as you can see from reading the actual “prophecy”: in it, Muhammad says that those who fight the “Romans” at Dabiq would come from Medina, which would apparently have required the Islamic State to conquer Saudi Arabia before it could be fulfilled. And then, during the battle, “a third (part of the army) which would be constituted of excellent martyrs in Allah’s eye, would be killed and the third who would never be put to trial would win and they would be conquerors of Constantinople.” So apparently the third of the Muslim army that would defeat the non-Muslims at Dabiq would be “conquerors of Constantinople,” which must mean that they would either be veterans of the conquest of Constantinople or would accompany Jesus the Muslim prophet to the conquest of Constantinople after the victory at Dabiq.
But jihadis conquered Constantinople on May 29, 1453, over 550 years ago. I daresay that few, if any, of those conquerors are alive today to fight at Dabiq.
Nonetheless, this prophecy, this vision of the final battle and the End Times and the final victory of the Muslims, was so important to the Islamic State that it named its glossy online magazine “Dabiq.” Soon they will have to rename it after some other site of more attainable Islamic conquest — say, “Washington In a Hillary Clinton Administration.”
Of course, the Islamic State doesn’t own this hadith. Some of the jihadis among the “Syrian rebels” who took the town may still be hoping to bring about its fulfillment soon. But as with any false prophecy, for it ever to be fulfilled, a lot of moving parts would have to snap into place.
“Isis loses ‘prophesied’ town of Dabiq to Syrian rebels after short battle,” by Adam Withnall, Independent, October 16, 2016:
Isis has lost control of the symbolically important town of Dabiq to a group of Syrian rebels following a short battle.
Syrian opposition fighters backed by Turkey said they took the town after meeting with “minimal” resistance from the jihadists.
According to Isis propaganda, Dabiq was to be the scene of an apocalyptic final battle between Muslims and Christians, heralding the end of days. Isis named its English-language propaganda magazine after the town, and the looming fight had featured prominently in jihadist media outlets.
Located between Aleppo and the Turkish border, Dabiq holds little strategic significance. Isis is nonetheless reported to have stationed some 1,200 troops in the town since it took control in 2014, thanks in no small part to its prophesied importance.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said Isis withdrew its forces. A commander of the Syrian opposition Hamza Brigade said they captured the town on Sunday morning, and that Isis had retreated towards the much larger town it still holds to the south-east, al-Bab….

Big surprise that a false prophet / religion would produce a false prophecy! …talk about poetic justice 😀

“for now we really live, if you stand firm in the Lord.”
So true Champ. They serve a lie. They serve the god of death. The deceiver lives on in Islam. The one who comes to rob, steal, and destroy.
Gary says
….are Muslims, (Or anyone for that matter, who does not acknowledge God the Father), really living? No, we’re not. Unless!
…unless we stand firm in the Lord.
Paul Clark says
Unknowingly to most of these Islamic, useful fools, the fulfillment of their prophecy is in Revelations. We will have to suffer their evil for awhile, but eventually God’s justice will prevail. Maybe a day; maybe a millennium, but Jehovah’s justice will prevail over this evil, lunatic religion.

David Koresh of Waco predicted that the end of the world would come in a fiery cataclysm. He was right….someone (Koresh?) burned down the compound and his cult perished along with him.
Cults not only predict armageddon but they often actually bring it on themselves: Asahara supreme truth , Manson, Heavens Gate, Koresh, Hermetic Order of the Solar Temple, ISIS, etc

So the self-proclaimed caliphate lost a town to the troops backed by the wannabe caliph.

Armageddon will come, and Jesus (not their twisted and corrupt version), The Holy Son of God, will return to destroy the evil of satan and his crowd. islam will be a large part of what goes into the abyss, the lake of fire.
The moslims…whatever brand or sect… can’t *bring* it, can’t cause it, can’t change it, and can’t stop it. And they will be sorry when it happens.

Yes–very true, Somehistory!

How do we know that the Bible is true and God’s Word? Through the fulfillment of prophecy. No other writing known to mankind dares to walk into the arena of prophecy. See a video that proves the Bible can be trusted.”

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you! Bible prophecy is how God proves Himself, without fail 100% percent of the time. You will not find prophesy in any so called holy book in Islam, Catholics, Mormons, Hindu or Buddha and all false religions of this world.Do you know why my friend? It is because those religions come from satan, designed to draw you away from Jesus in His saving Grace through faith alone.
Champ says
You’re welcome, Lucienne! The above video presentation is probably the best I’ve seen on the subject of Bible Prophecy.
Kay says
Thanks Champ.
@Lucienne–do you really not realize that Catholics also read and follow the Bible?
somehistory says
Your are correct, Champ.
God, our Creator, is The Only One Who can look into the future and tell us what is to be and is always accurate to the minutest detail.
I have so much enjoyed reading of events the Bible foretold in prophecy through Daniel, Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, and others and then reading…and now seeing…about those events happening.
The destruction of Tyre, the takeover of Babylon by Cyrus the Persian and the “doors left open”…It has been said that Alexander the Great was shown Daniel’s prophecy about himself and that is why he spared the Jews.
And to see prophecy that Jesus Christ told us to watch for happening before our eyes…nothing can equal it for interest and excitement.

All *very* true, Somehistory! Thank you.

Point 1 – Darwin’s scientific theory contained in the Origin of species is correct.
Point 2 – The Genesis myth of the Garden of Eden is just a myth.
Point 3 – There was no original sin.
Point 4 – Therefore the crucifxion is just crucifiction.
Point 5 – If there was a deity such as the Judeo/ Christian God he/she/it would have known that points 1 to 4 above were true. An all knowing God would have known from the beginning of time.

Darwin is dead. His life was only possible because there is a Creator. All who mock the truth of that find out one day, eventually, that there is a True God, and He is not to be mocked.
Beagle says
The Origin of Species observes variations in animals over time due to changes in environment and isolation. It says nothing about the origin of life itself. Genetics would not be well understood for another 100 years. Darwin once postulated in a letter that maybe life originated on the shore of a pond. But he never claimed to know.
It amazes me how many people think Darwin wrote a book about the origin of life when even he never even suggested he did.
Similarly, Hubble did not advocate an expanding universe based on redshift. He thought more research was needed and that some redshift could be intrinsic.
The modern religion of science is every bit as faith-based as the religion of religion.

I don’t care who says “Armageddon will come”, as long as they don’t engineer it’s arrival themselves.
The problem with some eschatology e.g. Shiite “end times” is that these predicting the end try to act in a way which brings it on…usually by violent means.
somehistory says
All who know what Armageddon is, know also that it is not necessary, or even possible, for a human to bring it on. Even many humans, acting inhumane in the most demonic ways, cannot hasten or delay it.

This is the best news I have heard in a very, very long time. The Islamic State loses Dabiq! That’s like castrating the whole bunch! It’s party time! May the mujahideen of IS be buried pointed opposite the qibla, and may their graves be danced upon by Jewish girls in their courses. No, better: may they all live to see their wives and their children become apostates, and slaughter swine upon the Kaaba!
gravenimage says
It is still Mohammedans who have possession of Dabiq. It would be unwise for any Jewish girls–or most other Infidels–to attempt travel there.
And much of the local land has passed back and forth between ISIS and various other factions. This may not be at an end in Dabiq.
I am not trying to make light of this symbolic victory–please don’t think so; I am glad to see it–but this may not be over yet.
al norm says
Agree. We are not over with Dabiq and ISIS. Mosul has plenty of ISIS fighters who can relocate. As the Russian press implies, the USA will allow the fighters out secretly and openly claim a victory in Mosul. There is much more to all this then we are hearing. ISIS has 5000 ‘fighters’. The Iraqi have 300,000 plus USA Coalition forces, modern arms, air force. And they cant defeat ISIS? – you go to be kidding. Nope there is much more to come.
As to Sahih’s Constantinople, we can interpret that a number of ways. the Turks are not seen as Muslim by the Takfiri (ISIS) so Constantinople has yet to be conquered. Also the Sahih and the early Arabs did not see countries- they did not exist, they only saw kingdoms defined by their main city ( Hence Rome means Europe)

Even Mad Mohammed of Mecca realised and acknowledged that Islam would end.

Yes–ISIS is not the only group of Muslims looking to usher in Islamic “End Times”–just look at the Twelver Shia’s over in Iran.
Moreover, while this is a false prophecy, this does not mean Muslims will not do a great deal of damage in trying to fulfill it.
After all, there never was a “Thousand Year Reich”, but the Nazis slaughtered millions of people trying to bring it about. (Yes–I know this was not a religious prophecy; but the Nazis were certainly fanatical enough).

Note that the “Syrian opposition fighters backed by Turkey” apparently won, and they could actually have been motivated by the “they would be conquerors of Constantinople” from the “prophecy”, as it’s the Turks who conquered Constantinople some centuries ago, as Robert mentions.

This is good news on several levels! Perhaps it will also disillusion some Muslims and they’ll leave behind this death cult. You never know!

Listen, indoctrination during formative years is almost impossible to get out of. I’ve got enormous respect for those who’ve managed it. It takes tremendous mental strength, but generally they’re screwed. They’ll never see the world through rational eyes so we need to contain it. Vote Trump and hope everyone else does.

[T]his vision of the final battle and the End Times and the final victory of the Muslims, was so important to the Islamic State that it named its glossy online magazine “Dabiq.”
How can an online magazine be glossy? Glossiness is a property of paper, which can be either glossy or matte (= non-glossy). Is there a paper version of the magazine Dabiq? Where can it be bought, and how much does it sell for? Does the glossy edition cost more than the matte edition?
LR says
Right you are…

Generally, when people say that an on-line publication is glossy, they mean it appears professionally done.

Mohammad was never much of a Prophet, so it comes as no surprise that this ‘prophecy’ did not come true. ISIS must be devastated. Dabiq can return to its former torpor.

There is something wrong with people who want to see an armagedon. I don’t care if it’s ISIL or Jehovah’s witnesses.
But granted, I would rather see a JW at my door, than a Jihadi.

There is *nothing **wrong with people** who want to see evil taken from the earth, who want to see all wars, famine, murder, rape, etc,, eliminated from mankind, forever.
Armageddon…according to what the Bible says…will be a war that does not have the *so-called collateral* damage or loss of life. Only those who oppose God and His Son will be the dead in the war of Armageddon.
Things will be as they should be on earth when all evil, including satan and his demons and his human *children* are gone. There is absolutely nothing wrong with wanting that.

I’m done with diplomacy. In my view, the Islamic state are a bunch of fucking inbred retards; we need to blow their fucking brains out, nuke them if necessary. End off. Can we stop apologising for this shit already?
