Oklahoma State Rep. John Bennett ventures where few dare to tread. My latest in FrontPage:
In an age of near-universal denial and willful ignorance at the highest levels about the ideological roots, nature and magnitude of the jihad threat, it is as unusual as it is refreshing to find lawmakers at any level who are willing to approach the problem honestly. State Representative John Bennett of Oklahoma, a Marine and combat veteran of Iraq and Afghanistan, is one of an all-too-rare breed.
On Tuesday, Bennett held an “Interim Study” on “the current threat posed by radical Islam and the effect that Shariah Law, the Muslim Brotherhood and jihadist indoctrination have in the radicalization process in Oklahoma and America.” In his request to hold this study, he explained: “This will be a study of the current threat posed by radical Islam and the effect that Shariah Law, the Muslim Brotherhood and jihadist indoctrination have in the radicalization process in Oklahoma and America.”
This kind of study should have been held not just in the Oklahoma House of Representatives, but in the U.S. House, and Senate as well. That such an idea is inconceivable is an indication of the fix we’re in. And the situation is only marginally better in Oklahoma: nowadays the misinformation and disinformation about what we’re up against is so universal that anywhere the truth is told about this threat, there is significant pushback from the allies and enablers of jihad and Islamic supremacism.
And so it was in Tulsa on Tuesday. The interim study featured testimony by former FBI agent John Guandolo and Chris Gaubatz, whose exploits as an undercover agent infiltrating the Hamas-linked Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) are chronicled in the eye-opening book Muslim Mafia.
Gaubatz and Guandolo presented evidence, including land records, showing that the Islamic Society of Greater Oklahoma City (ISGOC) is owned by the Muslim Brotherhood group the North American Islamic Trust (NAIT), that both CAIR, which has an active chapter in Oklahoma City, and ISGOC are Muslim Brotherhood organizations, and that CAIR has extensive ties to the jihad terror group Hamas, which styles itself the Muslim Brotherhood for Palestine. They pointed out that since Imad Enchassi, the imam of ISGOC, is a Palestinian and has all these ties to the Muslim Brotherhood, he likely also has links to Hamas.
Guandolo and Gaubatz did not base their case on innuendo and hearsay. They laid out FBI evidence, Muslim Brotherhood documents, and more, demonstrating that the claims they were making were based on solid evidence.
Predictably, however, the mainstream media, which we now know beyond any shadow of a doubt is simply and solely a propaganda arm for the Left and the Democratic Party, focused entirely on the presence of Adam Soltani of CAIR-OK and Enchassi. The Tulsa World ran a piece with the hysterical headline “State representative brands CAIR-OK, its director and a local imam as terrorists.” It quoted Soltani raging against Bennett: “Rep. Bennett is shamefully wasting taxpayer money to promote his own biased agenda. This hearing was a new low for Rep. Bennett, as his guests presented a biased narrative that achieves nothing more than demonizing and marginalizing the Oklahoma Muslim community.”
The World magisterially told its readers that “CAIR is a Muslim civil liberties and advocacy group working to enhance the understanding of Islam.” It didn’t see fit to mention that CAIR is an unindicted co-conspirator in a Hamas terror funding case — so named by the Justice Department. There was not a word in the World report about how CAIR officials have repeatedly refused to denounce Hamas and Hizballah as terrorist groups. Several former CAIR officials have been convicted of various crimes related to jihad terror. CAIR’s cofounder and longtime Board chairman (Omar Ahmad), as well as its chief spokesman (Ibrahim Hooper), have made Islamic supremacist statements. (Ahmad denies this, but the original reporter stands by her story.) A California chapter distributed a poster telling Muslims not to talk to the FBI, and a Florida chapter distributed pamphlets with the same message. CAIR has opposed virtually every anti-terror measure that has been proposed or implemented and has been declared a terror organization by the United Arab Emirates.
But the Tulsa World and other mainstream media outlets that covered Bennett’s study did not see fit to inform their readers of any of that; instead, predictably enough, they portrayed the hearing as a baseless exercise in race-baiting and fearmongering conducted by a politician up for reelection.
John Bennett, and the people of Oklahoma, deserve better. There are legitimate questions about CAIR and ISGOC; Bennett dared to raise them Tuesday; for that, he is being subjected to a media lynching that is cynically designed to obscure the genuine concerns he raised – yet ever since a member of ISGOC beheaded a coworker in 2014, these concerns are more urgent than ever.
The media enablers of jihad must be decisively repudiated. Please email the Speaker of the Oklahoma House, Jeff W. Hickman, politely and courteously expressing your support for John Bennett and requesting that his hearing be just the first of a series. His email is jwhickman@okhouse.gov and his phone number is (405) 557-7339.
John Bennett has yet again stuck his neck out for freedom. In these hard times, those who are willing to do that have to hang together.

Kudos to Oklahoma State Rep. John Bennett for his courage.
With a caveat concerning this “near-universal denial and willful ignorance”:
“the current threat posed by radical Islam and the effect that Shariah Law, the Muslim Brotherhood and jihadist indoctrination have in the radicalization process in Oklahoma and America.”
There is no such thing as “radical” Islam. Call it Islamic law. Reverts excepted, jihadist indoctrination begins at birth. Please define how “radicalized” Muslims differ from the rest of the ummah.
Mubarak says
Radicalized Muslims are forerunners of a world wide ummah in spe. —
That radicalization has the meaning and consequences it has in the context of Islam is an indictment of this religion in its totality. And it can’t find any other expressions than terror and violence: did you ever hear about a Muslim, who was inspired by his religion and tradition to join the equivalent of a monastery?
PRCS says
Rationally, if Islam really was “the religion of peace”, a “radicalized” Muslim must then be even more peaceful than “moderate” Muslims.
Of course, written, Orthodox Islam is NOT peaceful toward we “filthy unbelievers”.
IMO, use of obfuscations like “radicalization process” perpetuates the general public’s ignorance of Islam’s truly ugly teachings and goals.
LR says
PRCS,
Good point…I usually use the term ‘fanatical Muslim’, for IS, suicide bombers, and anyone nasty to someone who isn’t Muslim etc…
By what you state, ‘fanatical’, if Islam is a religion of peace, would be someone acting more like a Jain…

Mubarak does not want Muslims in a monastery–as he has said over and over again, he wants them in our civilized societies, raping Infidel women and children in the streets. *Ugh*.

The only way I think “radicalized” Muslims differ from the rest of the Ummah is the radicalized are willing to actually act on all of these gruesome commands!! And the rest are maybe just supporting them, whether just in thought or financially. They are probably too squeamish to go through beheadings and blowing themselves up! I do think it’s possible that some might just believe their Imams, who say that Muhammad is peaceful, and they just go through the rituals of prayer, etc. But, “radical Islam” is just Islam, taken to it’s full extent.
Mubarak says
If you meet a well-behaved, good-spirited, neighbor-loving person who clams to be a Muslim, you can be quite sure that his goodness stems from himself and his illusions about his religion. Tell him that his prophet is a quack, the Quran a mediocre document and a plagiary and Allah an impotent no-God with delusions of grandeur. If he doesn’t loose his temper, he just confirms the saying, that a good Muslim is a bad Muslim.
Jim says
I would only add one other aspect of the problem, namely that there are some Muslims, some I know (and many more?), who, having been born into this religion, who are unfortunately living within the religious structure OUT OF FEAR. They fear not only for themselves but also primarily for their children in terms of what would happen if their parents tried to abandon their faith. One of the problems seems to be that the parents don’t believe there is a secure “way out,” for example no “underground railroad” as existed during the Civil War. I know of no such organization that would come to their aid. I can see how their children, who are grown and have families of their own, from the parents standpoint, could be seriously damaged, their lives ruined, maybe jobs lost, if their parents made a statement by way of leaving the faith. Anyone out their have any ideas on this? Any organizations set up to deal with this?

Why is Mubarak nattering on about good Muslims? He has made it clear that he wants them here to mass rape us. More stealth Jihad?

John Bennett is very brave, and we need a Congress full of men and women just like him, who are willing to speak the truth. Not only will I write the speaker of the Oklahoma house, but I’m going to write John and encourage him to keep up the good fight. It’s a shame, and it’s so discouraging the the paper there is presenting such a slanted, biased view and giving the Islamic community a chance to slander this man. They need to give John a chance to present actual facts about all of this stuff and to explain why this study is desperately needed. Unfortunately, if Hillary gets elected, she will probably forbid government officials from ever undertaking a study like this again. Somehow, we need to get Islam reclassified as a political ideology or something to stop giving it the protection that it has been given.
Kepha says
If Shrillary Shrooooooooooo is elected (which probably will happen), she may forbid government officials from ever undertaking such a study again, but there will probably be leaks galore to the alternative (rather than Left-wing) media. As for the House and Senate, Shrillary Shroooooooo will not be able to shut up those members of either house who are suspicious of the Jihad. My big worry at this point is that neither a rose-tinted view of Middle Eastern rebels nor strong suspicions about jihadism will lead us into an unnecessary Middle Eastern misadventure.

Indeed. As Benjamin Franklin said, “we must all hang together or most assuredly we will all hang separately”.

I read somewhere that the “Radical muslim” is the one actually cutting off your head. While the “Moderate” just holds the video camera and up loads the video to their website!
Seems pretty clear to me.
In recent studies not a single mosque could be found who had NOT sent cash payment to over seas JIHADIST groups.
E. Deploribus Unum says
“The Witness” is a documentary on Netflix about Kitty Genovese’s murder in 1964. Even then, the New York Times decided they couldn’t just say it was a black psychopath who’d already murdered another woman quite recently. They had to blame it on the 38 “eye”witnesses, almost all of whom never saw a thing. They start with a narrative and look for the “story” to illustrate it. It was an election year, by the way. The bussing of BLM rioters and looters to places of failed police killings is another example. And radical Islam is another.
The media see themselves as culture creators and, to a degree, they are. Think of all the race riots they stoked and even created. Same with Islam. It HAS TO BE OUR FAULT.

Islam demands tolerance that it doesn’t extend to others.
The paradox of tolerance arises when a tolerant person holds antagonistic views towards intolerance, and hence is intolerant of it. The tolerant individual would then be by definition intolerant of intolerance.
Unlimited tolerance must lead to the disappearance of tolerance. If we extend unlimited tolerance even to those who are intolerant, if we are not prepared to defend a tolerant society against the onslaught of the intolerant, then the tolerant will be destroyed, and tolerance with them.—Karl Popper
Richard Paulsen says
The threat from the nazis and bolsheviks were denied as today the threat from islam. Good of politicians to discuss it. The only politicians worse of being granted leading positions.

As a way of supporting John Bennett, how about encouraging Oklahomans to boycott the Tulsa World.

Another interesting fact about Imam Imad Enchassi, who is pictured at
http://www.isgoc.com/site/abouttheimam/ ,
is that “he earned a certificate of “Apostolic Succession”* earned by a selected few.” The asterisk leads to a note saying “Eijazah in Quranic Recitation that goes back to Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), similar to the concept of Apostolic Succession.”
This document will be highly interesting because of its list of recitation teachers going all the way back to the Founder (pbuh) himself. When politely asked to put this document on his website, he flatly refused, saying the equivalent of “Nyeah-nyeah-nyeah-nyeah-NYEAH-nyeah!” Maybe the Oklahoma legislature can cajole him into making his eijazah certificate public.
Imam Enchassi, if you’re reading this, here’s a recitation you can offer as an encore after one of your Apostolic Quranic recitation performances:

A way should be found to take Mr. John Bennett and his seminar to all 50 states and make it a mandatory formation for our state governments. America needs to be wakened from its slumber regarding the intentions of Islam in America.
Should Trump succeed and I have a gut feeling that he will, we need to purge the government of all Muslims. That includes the military. And after we shut down immigration from the Middle East and all “refugee” movement into America, we should remove these people from out country as rapidly as we can.

Hi. Everyone please write to the speaker of the Oklahoma house (address above) and express support for this courageous man. Additionally, please write to this brave man and encourage him; I know it must be hard to stand up in the face of this kind of opposition as he is currently doing. May him have the courage to press on! john.bennett@okhouse.gov
