How long will it be before someone — anyone — in the Washington establishment wakes up and realizes that the Islamic Republic of Pakistan is never going to “take actions to combat and delegitimize all terrorist groups operating on its soil”? How long will the U.S. keep pouring billions into Pakistan hoping this will happen, only to see a great deal of that money end up in the hands of the very terrorists it was given to Pakistan to fight?
The political establishment is dominated by fools, charlatans, idiots, and people who are only in it for the money and perks that political power offers them. A massive housecleaning is long overdue.

Though Toner did not reply to the specific question, he said, “I would just say that we continue to urge Pakistan to take actions to combat and delegitimize all terrorist groups operating on its soil.”
