“Erdogan’s Turkey is a solitary nation. It does not belong to Europe. Hence its failure to join the EU, despite a half century-long effort. Theoretically it is a NATO ally and a ‘strategic partner’ of the US. In reality, it is hostile to Western civilization and the US is only a tactical partner — a partner as long as it helps Islamists advance their political ambitions, not a partner with shared democratic values.”
Exactly. For years I have been calling for a reconfiguration of our international alliances, which are based on the Cold War, in order to reflect the reality of the global jihad. One key aspect of that reconfiguration would be the realization that Turkey is in no sense and ally of the United States or a defender of freedom.
“Turkey: Erdogan’s Stealth Jihad Against the West,” by Burak Bekdil, Gatestone Institute, October 26, 2016:
It is true that the worst enemy of Turkey’s Islamist President Recep Tayyip Erdogan is another Islamist who was Erdogan’s best political ally for several years. It is also true that Erdogan, publicly or privately, feels hostility against a number of Muslim communities in the Middle East, including secular and Alevi Muslims in Turkey, the Nusairi (Alawites) in Syria and the Shiite in Iran, Lebanon and Bahrain.
It is not a secret, either, that Erdogan does not admire Jews, to put it mildly. But essentially, his strict adherence to political Islam often reveals his war of domination with non-Muslim Western civilization in a broader context. Erdogan fights anyone and anything outside the sphere of his understanding of Sunni Islamism.
A few years ago, Erdogan launched a political campaign, “The World is Greater Than Five,” arguing that it was not fair to leave the fate of the world to the five permanent members of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) — members with veto powers.
That is fine. There are many politicians, artists and intellectuals from every corner of the world, regardless of ethnicity or religion, who campaign around the same idea. The world may or may not be greater than five. To challenge the idea that the United States, Britain, Russia, China and France should be the eternal permanent members is legitimate by all means. But Erdogan’s argument over why “the world is greater than five” is problematic as it typically reflects an Islamist’s angry inner thoughts, feelings of “defeat against the non-Muslim West” and a “powerful urge to reverse the world order in favor of political Islam.”
In a February 2015 speech, Erdogan said:
“Currently, there are five permanent and ten non-permanent members. Do the latter have any authority whatsoever? None … This must change … You cannot make 196 countries live with the decisions made by any of the five permanent members of the U.N. Security Council.”
Then, in the same speech, Erdogan came to the bottom line when he criticized the lack of “Muslim voices” in the Security Council. “When we look at it in terms of religion, we see that all religions except Islam are represented. Is this justice? No”.
That is at the core of Erdogan’s not-so-silent (and never-ending) war with the West: (Sunni) Muslim nations should be deciding on matters shaping world politics, not others.
Never mind if he supports his argument with false and corrupted information such as “we see that all religions except Islam are represented.” There are no Jewish, Shinto, Buddhist, Hindu or Animist nations in the UN Security Council, or nations predominantly adhering to other faiths. Erdogan is not honest even when he insists on a Muslim contingent in the Security Council. He would be angry if the UN, as he passionately suggests, agreed on a Muslim seat and gave it to Shiite Iran. No, he wants a Sunni seat.
On October 1, in his annual speech for the inauguration of the new legislative year, Erdogan called the UN “a burden on humanity.” He, then, challenged the European Union (EU) that “it’s the EU’s choice whether to continue on its path with or without Turkey.” Then, in the same speech, he slammed the U.S. for the “inconsistency and disjointedness” of its policies on the Middle East.
Erdogan’s Turkey is a solitary nation. It does not belong to Europe. Hence its failure to join the EU, despite a half century-long effort. Theoretically it is a NATO ally and a “strategic partner” of the US. In reality, it is hostile to Western civilization and the US is only a tactical partner — a partner as long as it helps Islamists advance their political ambitions, not a partner with shared democratic values….

The picture is ironic; a portrait of Mustafa Ataturk, the man who led the secular reform of Turkey to prosperity and respect in the modern world, and the man standing to the right who is dragging Turkey backwards to the bloody “glory days” of the Islamic Ottoman Empire.
It is the typical Islamic response: If we find ourselves failing as competitors in the modern world it must be that we have strayed from Allah. Of course it never works to return, like a 60’s hippy to a commune, and become even less competitive. Islam is the problem for its adherents; locking the mind against new thought and suggesting that physical conflict is a road to prosperity.

Erdogan is a stealth gay man, (IMHO).
All Turkish men are way-gay but just not in a public sissy way.
They are more like Rock Hudson closeted YMCA gay.
There are more gay men per one square kilometer in Turkey than all of San Francisco.
Compare a gay bathhouse to a typical (not-gay / wink) Turkish bath for men.
In Turkey, one naked man lying prostrate receives a sudsy wash/massage/scrub-down by another naked man wearing nothing but a precarious loose fitting flimsy towel while mounted over him like a stud stallion over a mare during mating season.
Nothing gay about that?
The Ginger says
Shame non you Jay. If you cannot bring seriousness to the gravity of the assault on personal freedom and peace that Islam is to the free and modern world, we do not want you. Homophobia, racism, anti-semiticism, and the like do not belong in this thread. Erdogan’s sexuality has nothing to do with his policies. He is only to be judged based on that. As an American living in Turkey, I can tell you that you sound exactly like him. Change your ways or go away.
Damocles Junior says
Racism and detesting homosexuality are all a part of protecting what is left of our way of life.Likewise I don’t see any antisemitism in Jay Boo’s post.
You can not successfully force totally different races to live together, it just does not work, add to this a dreadful religion and you have a potential disaster. Have the millions of Turks already in Germany integrated into that society yet? The answer is no and they have been there for several generations. No, they all live as 3rd class citizens in their own run down crime ridden suburbs most with their own mosque.

This is not about race–race does not determine character or philosophy. Islam–a creed–is a very different matter.
Damocles Junior says
To Graven Image. Yes, there are “European” Muslims, mainly in the Balkans and a few deluded converts mainly in our prison system and academia as well as some obvious sympathisers in the Catholic Church. But by and large Muslims are of totally different races from European Australians or Americans.
Every time I see of yet another crime committed by Sudanese Muslims in this country my blood just boils. Every time I see a gang of Arab youths behaving obnoxiously I feel furious as well as quite helpless. As far as I am concerned Islam was a religion designed for Arabs and Africans. That is why I also feel that it is also a race issue.
Mazo says
Anatolian Turks are white and are largely the same race genetically and physically as Greeks and Balkanites. If Anatolians are not white then neither are Greeks. Slavic Muslims, Greek Muslims and Albanian Muslims make up millions of the Turkish population.
Lebanese share the same phenotype as Greeks.
Communal male bathing in Turkey and the Arab world were inherited from the Greeks and Romans.
Mazo says
Pederasty is another thing Turks inherited from ancient Greeks. The ancient Greek men used to consort with young boys in the gymnasiums. Socrates was a homosexual pederast and expresses his attraction to Alcibiades.
It is not surprising that Anatolian Turks adopted pederasty and communal same sex bathing from the Greeks and Romans.
The Ancient Greeks under Alexander the Great invaded as far as Afghanistan and established gymnasiums there after spreading Hellenistic culture. The Greco Bactrians reigned in Afghanistan for some time. Bacha Bazi there might be a remnant of Greek Hellenistic influence

Mazo
Mazo wants to blame the Greeks for Muslim Turks obsession with Muslim male fondling of Muslim men at the Muslim Turkish bath, but I think it has something to do with the inherent anal retentiveness on Muslim men bending over repeatedly in front of other Muslim men to recite Muslim prayers (invocations).
IMHO
Mazo says
The bathhouses of the Arab world and Turkey were built on former Greek and Roman bathhouses. Greeks introduced gymnasia, bathhouses and geometric art patterns used by Middle Easterners today. The Arabic word for music is from Ancient Greek. Pederasty was a long time tradition of Classical Greece and Rome. Old Greek philosophers waxed eloquent on their attraction to male youths. Arabs read the works of Greek philosophers.
Pederasty is found mainly in former Hellenistic and Roman areas. Peoples who live outside of thosevareas like Tatars and Malays don’t practice it as part of their culture.

Even by Mazo’s standards, this is *ludicrous*–trying to blame Muslim pedophilia on the ancient Greeks and Romans.
The “Uncreated Qur’an”–surely not influenced by Greeks and Romans?–waxes lyrical about boys like “scattered pearls” that Muslims will enjoy in Paradise.
Afghans practice Bacha Bazi (“boy play”)–organized child rape–in a place where the trace amount of Greek influence ended 2300 years ago.
Child rape, in fact, is rife in the Muslim world.
Even more salient, how are those direct descendants of the ancient Greeks and Romans–modern day Greeks and Italians–faring?
Well, pedophilia is *illegal* in these places–this is at best statutory rape, and it is *not* condoned in these places–or anywhere else in the civilized West.
Would that this were true of Muslims–instead, they are now raping little boys in the West:
“Germany: Muslim migrant sexually assaults 6-year-old boy in changing room”
https://www.jihadwatch.org/2016/05/germany-muslim-migrant-sexually-assaults-6-year-old-boy-in-changing-room

There are many more such stories.
Civilized people can admire aspects of ancient Greek and Roman culture–art, philosophy, the study of law–and condemn others, such as pederasty and public blood sports.
Will Mazo condemn Muslim child rape? I would not count on it–he has never once condemned or even criticized a single aspect of Muslim savagery.
And, really, how could he? To do so would be “blasphemous”.

Straw man, since I have never made this claim. There are, of course, many, many more such horrible stories.

Cravenmirage lies again. An Egyptian atheist drew the cartoon. Nahed Hattar just reposted it on his facebook page. Hattar didn’t draw it.
The cartoon’s English version translates ghulam as “servant”.
http ://nos. nl/artikel/2134298-schrijver-vermoord-om-delen-onislamitische-cartoon.html
The original Arabic version says “Ghulam” غلام where servant is in the English version.
https ://tendancecoatesy.wordpress. com/2016/09/26/nahed-hattar-killed-for-sharing-cartoon-insulting-islam/
The verse on the “pearly boys” is from Quran 52:24 which says وَيَطُوفُ عَلَيْهِمْ غِلْمَانٌ لَهُمْ كَأَنَّهُمْ لُؤْلُؤٌ مَكْنُونٌ
The place where “boys” are in the English version is غِلْمَان.
غِلْمَان is Ghilman, which is plural for Ghulam غلام
Ghulam referred to youthful male servants and was used to refer to a class of military slaves in the Mameluke ruled Middle East and Safavid Iran from converted Christian boys like the Janissary system in the Ottoman Empire. Armenians and Georgias became Ghulam soldiers in the Safavid Empire of Iran.

Mazo would like to link everything to the Greeks and Romans. But they also had open brothels and women accessible and in revealing attire. The interest in young boys is more likely to come from cultures where women are covered and unaccessible, such as in Arab culture. The Malay Muslims never traditionally had women fully veiled or covered with burqas as they were formerly Hindus and Buddhists.

Cravenmirage, the woman’s body even BELOW the waist is visible in the fresco. The Umayyad fresco has nothing to do with the Islamic view of the awra of any woman, whether free or slave. Nothing in Islam permits showing skin below the waist like panties and legs for and woman.

Frescos, murals and statues of all kinds are Haram in Islam nomatter who they depict. Greek philosophy and anal sex are haram. The point is that Muslims did Haram things since the Umayyad Caliphate which they adopted from the Greeks. Muslimms drunk alcohol. That doesn’t make alcohol Halal.
The Umayyad Caliphs are not the Rashidun and they did things against Islam.

More from Mazo:
Frescos (sic), murals and statues of all kinds are Haram in Islam nomatter (sic) who they depict. Greek philosophy and anal sex are haram. ………………………………
Note what Mazo lumps together here–anal sex and alcohol with art and philosophy. This is typical for Muslims–they have no real values; they just follow what is permissible and what is forbidden in their foul creed.
More:
The Umayyad Caliphs are not the Rashidun and they did things against Islam.
……………………….
This means they were not the “Rightly Guided” Caliphs–the “Companions” of Muhammed, who just happily murdered each other.
Yes–subsequent Caliphs became sloppy at times, and allowed Haram things like art, alcohol, and (occasionally) Infidels to live in relative peace.
No wonder Mazo is so disturbed.
But the Ummayads were perfectly Halal in that they continued to conquer large numbers of Infidels.

Craveirage lies again and presents it as an isolated incident.
The Umayyads painted frescoes of nude women and foreign Kings, carved statues of nude women, created mosaics and continued the usage of Greek language in the Caliphal administration for a period of time as well as hiring Christians fluent in Greek like Saint John of Damascus who was an associate of an Umayyad Caliph.
The Abbasids translated Greek philosophy like Plato and Aristotle into Arabic.
The Ottomans built extravagant above ground tombstones, and openly played music to spite Wahhabi Saudis before executing them. The Ottomans created extravagant artwork and Ottoman artists created intricate miniature paintings depicting humans. Many Greeks converted to Islam and were Turkified, or became janissaries or became part of the Ottoman harem.
Bathhouses are from Greece and Rome although not haram. Pederasty is from Greece and Rome and is haram.

@Mazo
You are completely ignorant or stupid when you write that the Greeks were paedofiles and that t Sokrates was gay.
Try to read the classics and understand what does it means Platonic love and what was the relations between an adult man and a young boy.
Naturally under the influence of the corrupted west we see the classical world with the eyes of today.
Stop watching the TV and read a little good books.
Mazo says
Historians understand it pretty well.

” One key aspect of that reconfiguration would be the realization that Turkey is in no sense and ally of the United States or a defender of freedom.”
Indeed. Same goes for Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.

Absolutely, Mirren.
Cretius says
A NON-SECULAR Turkey is unfit for EU membership.
Wrong on all counts.
A phobia is an abnormal or morbid fear or aversion. There is nothing abnormal about recognising the true nature of Islam and all the barbarism it brings. Therefore, there is no such thing as Islamophobia.
Secondly, being against a system like Islam is not racism. Racism is the belief that one race is inherently better than another simply on the theory that human abilities etc. are determined by race. By definition, Islam is not a race.
Lastly, Islam is a fascist totalitarian political system that includes a religion of jihad, bigotry, intolerance, sexism and barbaric cultural practises. Muslims are their own worst enemies. They even kill each other! No one has to lie about Islam. Simply bear witness to the intolerance, bigotry and hatred spread by imams online. Muslims demand respect and rights that they deny to everyone else. This makes them unfit immigrants/refugees to modern western democracies.
Allowing such a poisonous political system/religion in is tantamount to committing national suicide.
NOTE: The labels Islamophobia and Racist are used to shut down legitimate discussion of the true nature of Islamic teachings and Islam’s aggressive and bloody 1,400 year history of attacks on the Judeo-Christian West that continues to the present day.

Turkey: Erdogan’s Stealth Jihad Against the West
………………….
Important article by Burak Bekdil.
I would mention Erdogan’s deeply disturbing links with ISIS, as well.
Islam the religion of killers says
I’m not sure “Muslim” and “Security” should be in the same paragraph …
I’m positive Muslim and UN Security Council shouldn’t, couldn’t coexist at all
As if there wasn’t enough mucking around and time wasting with the UN Security Council as it is without having Muslims in the mix ..
Ali Bey says
Kemal Ataturk said: We don,t considere our principles as dogma inspired on books that are said coming from heaven. He also made despective comments about Islam. So, what are doing Erdogan and Ataturk (in the photo) close by. Ataturk should exit from the photo and ashame his succesor in power. Erdogan will end bringing back death penalty through impalment as a way of restoring ottoman tradtions.
Eric Jones says
Birds of a feather flock together I was taught when I was young. Obama has stated that Erdogan is his favorite foreign leader. Both are islamist in word and deed. Erdogan has referred to Attaturk; the modernizer of Turkey as a drunk.
Erdogan and Gulan were once political allies who spent ten years islamizing Turkey. Turkey is no longer the secular country it once was. Turkey does not belong in NATO or the EU. The USA should remove all military assestes from Turkey. Put them in Greece if they must be near that geographical region.
Robert Spencer is right. The USA should reconfigure its alliences to reflect the current jihadi threat.
