Exposing the role that Islamic jihad theology and ideology play in the modern global conflicts

UK press regulator permits criticism of Islam, Muslim journo says it’s “open season on minorities”

Oct 21, 2016 4:55 pm By Christine Douglass-Williams

The Independent Press Standards Organisation (IPSO) ruled that former Sun editor Kelvin MacKenzie was “entitled” to give his opinion and newspapers may “engage in discussion, criticism and debate about religious ideas and practices”.

This a clear victory for free speech, which should be applauded and defended everywhere in the West. We do not need to agree with anyone’s opinion, but free speech is a hallmark of our democracy.

However, “victim” and Channel 4 journalist Fatima Manji said that the ruling was “frightening” and signals it is now “open season on minorities and Muslims in particular”, adding there should be “limits” to free speech.

This deceitful nonsense that Fatima Manji is spewing is what is really “frightening,” and far too common. The ruling by IPSO is not “open season on minorities”. Which other minority group does anyone routinely hear complaining collectively about some “phobia” and challenging free speech? Free speech is antithetical to the tenets of Sharia, which Islamic supremacists have been diligently attempting to impose upon the West through all kinds of means: intimidation, claims of victimhood, accusations about racism, and the bogus “Islamophobia” narrative.

In the West, it is permissible to offend, and Muslims are also permitted to respond, instead of creating unwarranted public scandals and/or initiating Islamic lawfare against the West. Not every Muslim adopts this “Islamophobia” nonsense, either. This victimology agenda was fully exposed by a former imam and member of the International Institute of Islamic Thought, Abdur-Rahman Muhammad.

“‘Open Season on Minorities’ After Press Regulator Permits ‘Offensive’ Criticism of Islam”, by Liam Deacon, Breitbart, October 20, 2016:

The press regulator has said a columnist is not guilty of “harassment” and “discrimination” for writing an “offensive” article criticising Channel 4 News for using an anchor in a Muslim headscarf on the night of an Islamic terror attack.

The Independent Press Standards Organisation (IPSO) ruled that former Sun editor Kelvin MacKenzie was “entitled” to give his opinion and newspapers may “engage in discussion, criticism and debate about religious ideas and practices”.

However, “victim” and Channel 4 journalist Fatima Manji said that the ruling was “frightening” and signals it is now “open season on minorities and Muslims in particular”, adding there should be “limits” to free speech.

Her colleagues at Channel 4 agreed.

IPSO proves itself as toothless a press regulator as its forbear the PCC. Its ruling on Fatima Manji sanctions religious and racial abuse.

— Jon Snow (@jonsnowC4) October 20, 2016

Mr. MacKenzie’s column had argued that it was not “appropriate” for “a young lady in a hijab” to be “on camera when there had been yet another shocking slaughter by a Muslim” – the Islamic State truck attack in France that killed 80 people.

“Would the station have used an Orthodox Jew to cover the Israeli-Palestine conflict? Of course not,” he added.

He was careful not to blame Ms. Manji personally, but accuses Channel 4 of playing “TV games” and said that, in his view, Islam is “clearly [a] violent religion”.

The columnist later insisted his criticism was “reasonable”, described the hijab as a “religious statement”, and said it would be unlikely a Christian would be allowed to wear a cross prominently on television.

Speaking on Radio 4 this morning, Ms. Manji said she does indeed “wear the headscarf as a symbol of [her] religious faith” but dismissed questions about such symbols in public life as a “manufactured debate”.

In relation to the wearing of a Christian cross on TV, she said: “I respect individuals’ choices, and in particular respect individual women’s choices.”

“I respected people’s journalism when they’re interested in telling the truth – something Kelvin MacKenzie has not been interested in,” she added, continuing:

“Freedom of speech is my bread and butter, and I exercise it every day and I fought for other journalists who are silenced around the world to have that same right.

“I am happy for people to ridicule me or offend me. I am not happy for people to incite hatred against me and that is what happened here,” she said.

The journalist claimed she was “worried for [her] safety” after the article was published, that “measures” had to be “put in place”, and someone on a BBC debate had said she should be “lynched”.

However, Ms. Manji also found huge support after the controversy blew up in July of this year, with around 1,700 people complaining to the regulator about the column.

In its ruling on Wednesday, IPSO wrote: “While the columnist’s opinions were undoubtedly offensive to the complainant, and to others, these were views he had been entitled to express. The article did not include a prejudicial or pejorative reference to the complainant on the grounds of her religion.”

The regulator also ruled the article was not in breach of the harassment or accuracy clauses of the code. They recognised the matter was sensitive, they said, but was a subject of a legitimate public debate.

The finding continued: “The columnist’s view that Islam is ‘clearly a violent religion’ was a statement of his opinion. This view, however extreme or offensive to many, did not raise a breach of Clause 1.

“The suggestion that the complainant was a ‘pawn in this TV news game’ was clearly conjecture, and underlined that the author’s criticism was directed at Channel 4 and not at the individual newsreader.”

The ruling also insisted: “It should not be interpreted as preventing such criticism merely because, as is inescapable, many individuals subscribe to that particular faith.

Dear Brit , I suspect Ms. Manji is trying to mobilize support from as many co-religionists as possible to create the usual hysterical response from the usual mob . Inventing a lie to achieve a certain goal is very common behaviour for these people . Playing the victim as well . I bet she can’t substantiate her claim that “somebody” on a bbc program said she should be lynched .

She is not even a devout Muslim. She is wearing full make up and shape revealing Western type clothes. Just wrapping a scarf around part of the head is not what Islam means when it says that women must be covered. No way should she be wearing make up outside of the home or the presence of her husband if she’s got one. She also obviously does not care if the public ,that has just been informed of a serous Islamic attack on innocent people, are offended by the sight of a Muslim in a Muslim symbolic headscarf reporting on it.Hypocritical trouble maker. As for Jon Snow; he is the quintessential British ,priveliged, wealthy , lefty member of the new lefty bourgeois establishment.

If the ‘lynching’ comment is a piece of typically hysterical invention on the part of this muslima,, then it must also be a piece of typical projection of her own mindset onto this mythical person on the BBC. So SHE is the sort of person who would ‘lynch’ someone for whatever reason, and no doubt she ‘fears for her own safety’ because it’s in HER own mind to attack other people. Opening your mouth and making giveaway blunders like this is symptomatic of the kind of arrogant lack of self-awareness and lack of awareness of others that we should expect from muslims, which fits neatly with equally arrogant assertion that no one has the right to criticise anything that she holds dear. But what I find offensive about this woman is the insult to my intelligence that she can concoct an imaginary person on the BBC making an imaginary comment and expect me swallow that probably spurious line, rather like a second-rate ventriloquist mouthing obscenities through a dummy and expecting me to fall for little trick and blame the dummy.

Perhaps it’s time for Christian to start new “customs” to express their religious ideology that cannot be missed. How about hijabs with crosses in the design? Didn’t Paul call for the covering of women’s hair? How about broaches with an image of Christ and an Aramaic inscription? How about the men competing with ZZ Top for Beard Of The Year? Why not set up seminaries in the schools and have the children memorize the Bible in Aramaic to prepare them for their future occupations?

And what would Muslims say? Ridiculous! Hold up mirror, please.

It also contains video footage of various jihadi attacks to make the point: Islam is a violent religion. It was very offensive to have a Muslim report on the atrocity committed by a fellow Muslim. They were making a political statement, as if to say “This atrocity has so nothing to do with Islam we use a Muslim reporter to make that statement. Very inappropriate to use this tragedy to further the stealth jihad.

  7. Wellington says

Islam has been “open season on minorities” from the get-go, from the Profiteer Mohammed onwards.

Wherever Islam dominates, non-Muslims are in HUGE trouble. At best they are second-class citizens in a real Jim Crow kind of way, based not on race but on belief. At worst, they’re dead.

Islam is full of faults. They’re all over the place with Islam. But one of the worst faults of all about Islam is how it claims victim-status time and time again while, if possessed of enough power and control, will turn all non-Muslims into true victims. A greater hypocrisy and double standard would be hard to find in all of mankind’s history. Here Islam, I would contend, wins “top honors.” And here as well, I would equally contend, is a major reason (and there are, after all, so many) why Islam should be shunned, excoriated and despised.

Only sheer desperation in a lost cause can treat this as a ‘victory for free speech’.

After a thorough investigation costing heaps of money and man hours while many people capable of thinking for themselves stand around with bated breath, one irrelevant official allows the actual wording of a personal opinion. This is hardly a ‘victory’, more like flapping your arms when falling off a cliff.

Face it, western liberal democracies led by clueless/compromised/purchased leaders are no match for a dysfunctional ideology that proudly states its claim to the entire world.

Yes, Muslims are the “cry-babies of the world” and the vast majority of people can’t stand to hear a baby crying, and will do anything to stop the cry-baby from crying. But, more often than not they do the absolute wrong thing which further reinforces the behavior of crying by providing a “reward for crying”. How many parents break down when their kid is crying in the store for that toy, or that piece of candy? My 6 year old nephew tried that on me once in a crowded mall, I just started crying too, he never tried it again with me, but would still try with his parents. Little kids learn early that they can, to some extent, manipulate parents with “shame”. Muslims are no different, except they go for a much larger reward and try to create a larger stigma associated with not responding to their cry-baby-demands ( i.e. that muslims are victims of racism and extreme xenophobia and need special accomodation ) And like my nephew, they learn where and when to cry and when not to. The more they get rewarded, the more they will continue to be the “cry-babies of the world.”

Christians and HIndus and Sikhs are minorities in Pakistan and are treated *atrociously* by the dominant Muslims.

Christians and Hindus and Buddhists are minorities in Bangladesh and are treated *atrociously* by the dominant Muslims.

Ms Fatima Manji needs to be publicly confronted with a list of all the Muslim-dominated countries that treat non-Muslim minorities (all *indigenous* non-Muslim minorities, that only *became* minorities because of continuous Muslim mistreatment, ranging from small acts of daily bullying – micro-aggressions – all the way on up to paroxysms of ritualised mass murder) badly, and told that she is not suffering anywhere near as much as, say, Asiya Bibi on death row in Pakistan having been screechingly accused of ‘blasphemy!’ by a bunch of behijabbed mohammedan females.

She should also be questioned point-blank about the apostasy law and the blasphemy law and asked whether she approves of and applauds Mohammed’s sending assassins to murder non-Muslim persons who criticised or made fun of him and his bunch of thieving bandits. She should be asked, point blank, whether she disapproves of the assassination of pagan poet Asma bint Marwan, or Jewish poet Abu Afak, and whether she thinks Theo Van Gogh and the Charlie Hebdo cartoonists deserved to be butchered by Muslims for merely criticising or making fun of Islam / Muslims/ mohammed.

And when she gets asked those questions she should be videoed, the camera steadily on her face the whole time, and then somebody trained in the Facial Action Coding System could have some fun going through it, frame by frame by frame, to see what leaks out around the edges of whatever smiling or verbose dissimulation she deploys in order to evade answering honestly.

Not according to the IPSO. Or to anyone with a sound brain on their heads. Here’s what’s going to happen to her for her false accusation: nothing. Absolutely nothing. She had everything to win and nothing to lose. If she won, criticism of islam would be stifled. If she lost, as she did, nothing would come of it. She, or her coreligionists, are always free to try again later. And again afterwards, as many times as they need/want.

If I were to go to the police and presented a false accusation at someone, and the police investigated and realized I willingly made a false accusation, there would be consequences for me. At best, I’d be fined for wasting police resources. I’d also be liable to be sued for defamation. If I were to repeat the accusation later on, it would probably be given a low priority, if not dismissed out of hand, because of my history. If a lawyer presents evidence they know to be false, they can be barred from practise. Why can a journalist get away with making a blatantly false accusation?

P.S.: “Open season on minorities”,eh? Can you show me where this alleged hunt for Buddhists, or Hindus, or Chinese, or Japanese, or Brazilians, or Pastafarians is taking place in the UK?

To the US Congress these two future Presidents later reported the reasons for the Muslims’ hostility towards America, a nation with which they had no previous contacts.
“…that it was founded on the Laws of their Prophet, that it was written in their Koran, that all nations who should not have acknowledged their authority were sinners, that it was their right and duty to make war upon them wherever they could be found, and to make slaves of all they could take as Prisoners, and that every Musselman (Muslim) who should be slain in Battle was sure to go to Paradise.”

Islam is a fascist totalitarian political system that includes a religion of jihad, bigotry, intolerance, sexism and barbaric cultural practises. Muslims are their own worst enemies. They even kill each other! No one has to lie about Islam. Simply bear witness to the intolerance, bigotry and hatred spread by imams online. Muslims demand respect and rights that they deny to everyone else. This makes them unfit immigrants/refugees to modern western democracies.

Allowing such a poisonous political system/religion in is tantamount to committing national suicide.
