Egypt: Muslims attack Christian village on rumor of church opening, block road so fire trucks can’t enter

Nov 25, 2016 2:11 pm By Robert Spencer

“Fanatic Muslims in the village of al-Naghameesh in Sohag, some 450km south of Cairo, attacked the Copts in the village todayele Friday 25 November, on rumour that they were opening a church. A guesthouse owned by Ihab Tamer, a Coptic doctor, was burned, the façades of 10 Coptic-owned houses were damaged, and a house and shop owned by Ishaq Hanna were plundered and looted. The attackers cut the road so that the fire trucks could not enter the village; they also cut off the water and power supply to the village.”

Islamic law forbids Christians to build new churches or repair old ones, so that their communities are in a perpetual state of decline. Reliance of the Traveler, a manual of Islamic jurisprudence certified as “reliable” by Egypt’s very own Al-Azhar University, explains that non-Muslims are:

… “forbidden to ring church bells or display crosses, recite the Torah or Evangel aloud, or make public display of their funerals and feastdays, and are forbidden to build new churches” – o.11.5 (6,7)

When we post stories like this, one response we sometimes get from enterprising apologists in the comments section is that they’ve never heard of this Reliance of the Traveler, and so we must be pulling it out of the ether to defame Islam. Did we infiltrate Al-Azhar to certify it, too? Al-Azhar should probably know a “misunderstanding” of Islam when they see it. Or was someone asleep at the switch that day?

“Sohag Copts attacked on rumour of opening church,” by Nader Shukry, Wataninet, November 25, 2016 (thanks to Maged):

Fanatic Muslims in the village of al-Naghameesh in Sohag, some 450km south of Cairo, attacked the Copts in the village todayele Friday 25 November, on rumour that they were opening a church. A guesthouse owned by Ihab Tamer, a Coptic doctor, was burned, the façades of 10 Coptic-owned houses were damaged, and a house and shop owned by Ishaq Hanna were plundered and looted. The attackers cut the road so that the fire trucks could not enter the village; they also cut off the water and power supply to the village.

Naghameesh includes a 2000-strong Coptic population who had built a four-storey building to serve as a community centre that housed a children’s pre-school nursery and a home for the aged. They also used it for prayers, since the village includes no church; the nearest is in the town of al-Kosheh 8km away. With the passage of the new law for building churches last August, Naghameesh Copts applied for legalisation of the community centre church, but this has yet to gain approval.

The village priest, Father Macarius, had asked Bishop of al-Kosheh, Anba Wissa, to preside over Mass held in memorial of the priest’s father on Tuesday 22 November, and Anba Wissa graciously accepted. Even though the Bishop met the village mayor and presented him with a copy of the Qur’an, the Muslim villagers thought he had come to open a church. They gathered after Friday prayers and waged their attack.

The Copts called the police who arrived, surrounded the village, and dispersed the attackers. Governor of Sohag, Ayman Abdel-Moniem; and Mustafa Muqbel, Chief of Security of Sohag, also headed to the village where they inspected the situation. Governor Abdel-Moniem ordered that the ruined guesthouse should be repaired at the expense of the governorate, and promised that justice would be served. A source from parliament told ++Watani++ that some 20 suspects were caught and the incident is being investigated.

This is the second impossible to believe thing I read today, after that news article about the muslim murderers of Christians in Pakistan being sentenced to death…

Obama never spoken about these aspects of Islam persecution worldwide of Christians. Never.
He did a great job to eliminate Christianity as much as possible from the military, his administration, and promoted many Muslim Brotherhood sympathizers in his administration. You can imagine what would had happen if Hillary would have been elected.

Alexius – nor has the much-vaunted and expensive UN had anything to say, for the very simple reason that the organisation has become muslim-dominated! And just as a side issue, aren’t the mob in the picture an ugly lot!?

“They gathered after Friday prayers and waged their attack.”

So, who, at the ‘ole masjid told them to carry out the attack?

Did Big Al whisper in their ears, or did the imam lie to them about the church gathering and incite them?

I am witness to this time of exhortation by these mullahs at Friday assemblies. I do not call them assemblies for prayers because most of the time they are used to instigate the gullible muslim (mohammed too did the same – used their ignorance to get their fidelity) in to attacking the status quo.
In India the cops on their toes during these Friday assemblies because most of the time trouble starts after these “prayers”.
The incident in the Christian village is nothing new and will happen again and again as long as the civilized world will kow tow to this barbaric cult in the name of political correctness.

Again the Christians are targets for Islamic followers!! What else is new, and as expected will continue. I believe the Muslim Brotherhood, who Obama is very close with them, who is the father of Al Qada, is behind this. No matter if it’s Imams, or political leaders who promote attacks on Christians it doesn’t matter. It will continue. Just imagine what happens to our Christians in the US if Hillary would have been elected….. The deal would be that the Christians may have been blamed for doing wrong in the eyes of the Muslim nuts.

‘Block roads so fire trucks can’t enter’. Typical behavior. Reflective of deep-seated hatred for Christianity. Death, destruction of Christianity satiates Muslim blood-lust and deeply-embedded insecurities and doubts about own ‘religion’. Hatred borne out of insecurity rooted in realization that Islam cheap imitation of Judaism and Christianity. That’s why Mohammad preached hatred and total destruction of the two religions he plagiarized from. Muslims cant be at peace with these two religions around, That’s why Christians and Jews hounded/rooted out of Middle East. Christianity, Judaism make them feel like frauds. Which is what they are. On a grand scale. .

The government promised to repair the damage at public expense? That wouldn’t have happened before if previous JW reports are any guid.

Given that Egyptian President General al-Sisi was the first head of state could this be a new attitude on the part of the Egyptian government.

I wonder if Raymond Ibrahim might comment on that. I would interested in hearing his perspective on that.

The Muslims are animals and yet our leaders invite them to come here and pay them for it. I do not wish to live among barbarians. No more Muslim immigration. Everywhere there are Muslims, there is violence. Its what they do. Its who they are. they have no minds of their own, just mob mentality.
