Exposing the role that Islamic jihad theology and ideology play in the modern global conflicts

German prof: Salafism in Germany is “very cool, very contemporary and…is appreciated by young people”

Nov 15, 2016 3:13 pm By Robert Spencer

Jihad: all the cool kids are doing it. What could possibly go wrong? What Merkel hath wrought:

german-muslims

“Islam expert: Salafism is part of German youth culture,” DPA, November 15, 2016:

Salafism, an ultra-conservative strand of Sunni Islam that has a growing number of followers in Germany, is becoming part of the country’s youth culture, according to a professor of ethno-religious studies at Frankfurt’s Goethe University.

The rigid rules advocated by the movement – which supports the implementation of Islamic law, or sharia – are an “answer to uncertainty” experienced by young Muslims in Germany, Susanne Schroeter told dpa Tuesday.

Salafism has become a “protest culture in an era where other protest cultures no longer elicit a reaction,” said Schroeter, who has written extensively on Muslims in Germany and gender dynamics in Islamic societies.

She was responding to Tuesday’s ban of a Salafist organization best-known for distributing copies of the Koran across Germany on suspicion of recruiting Muslims on behalf of the Islamic State group.

The way Salafists approach young Muslims in Germany is “very cool, very contemporary and in a way that is appreciated by young people – of course that hits home,” Schroeter said….

About 8,650 people are considered part of the country’s Salafist movement, according to the latest figures from the domestic intelligence agency.

May I suggest that they bail out for Syria, or any other Muslim nation and do their teaching there.. Germans need strong people in government, and also in the university systems, not enablers !!

They never learned the lessons necessary. They were conned into th e’progressive’ interpretation of ‘reality’ which was that nationalism was the evil, and that removing that would eliminate all the sources of the oppression and oppressed. False utopianism. And since it is false, even as it is failing now, across the globe, it doesn’t allow any examination of it’s failutres, or limitations, and as such, is the source of the hatred that fueled such as national socialism. Germany and the rest of Europe should have seen that there is such a thing as evil, and right and wrong and whilst it is not so easy to see or measure, it needs to be addressed and seen and prevented from becoming accepted. Here, we see the acceptance of evil under the guise of cool rebellion, as if rebellion is always good. For teens it is good to have some of this, and when necessary it comes in handy for adults too… but not as an excuse to allow
the existence of the ‘oppressed’ to be projected upon an evil ideology and it’s adherants.
These ‘salafists’ are tyrannts, muslim bigots, and they are a vile bunch in need of being house cleaned from these nations and send running to Saudi Arabia…. and the leftist utopian hate freaks who nourish them and themselves on their own bigotry and hatred, in the guise of ‘cool rebellion’

I’ve been saying that all along, the Germans didn’t learn from their history. It’s plain to see the grand mufti of Jerusalem was a good buddy of Hitler’s, he helped to deport the Jew to Auschwitz and formed the Hanjar brigades that were SS brigades whose members were only muzzies. Islam and Nazism share the same ideology, they’re two of a kind. But the Germans don’t understand that, they’re unable to put two and two together.

As a Jew living in Germany I’m not afraid of neo-Nazis, there aren’t many, they aren’t well-organized and when they come up with anti-Semitism, the authorities punish them. But muzzies are a totally different matter in Germany, they’re well-organized, there are lots of them and their anti-Semitism isn’t punished at all. We have to understand that they’ve got a different culture and are treated badly in Israel etc. I hate all that crab and the double standards. Germany is going down the drain by the Germans’ own making.

I’m told over and over by my moral superiors that I know nothing about islam and that I need to talk to a muslim to learn about islam. Susanne Schroeter is not an arabic name. A cursory google search shows she does not wear a burqa or hijab. In short, she’s not a muslim. Why should I take anything she says about islam seriously, especially because salafi islam is, by definition, a conservative, orthodox interpretation of islam? Is she going for a “conservationism is the new counter-culture” approach?

Linnte, some of these Tweets are in English.

And you can always Google “German to English translation”, for a rough and ready translation of short passages. Translations are often a bit clunky, but are usually pretty understandable.

Even cooler than that, collectively burning down the House of the entire kaffir world, following the counsel of that rebel Muhammad bin Abdullah: “blood blood destruction destruction!” (the Second Pledge of Aqaba); along with the very groovy information you are a participant in the End Times.

“… Salafism, an ultra-conservative strand of Sunni Islam that has a growing number of followers in Germany, is becoming part of the country’s youth culture, according to a professor of ethno-religious studies at Frankfurt’s Goethe University…”

This account is misleading in one important aspect; it shouldn’t read ‘is becoming part of the countries youth culture’ but rather it should read ‘is becoming part of the muslim youth culture within Germany’. This problem is not a fault of German Youth ‘in general’ but a malaise within a specific religious minority. Salafism, and also the many strands comprising Traditional Islam, are not German, and therefore it’s quite unfair for the mass of Germany’s young people to be made to share collective responsibility for the misadventure of a clearly definable minority cultural import.

I have just watched part of a news item today on PBS News Hour, in which an Islamic
spokesperson commented that all Muslims in the USA need to reach out to
everyone for a better understanding of Islam within the whole American
    community.

While that may seem a great ideal, it will never be accepted as either a
true or honest objective while, from the Koran, the Medina verses are
indoctrinated into all Islamic youth and converts everywhere around the
    World.

These verses highlight the true and frightening depths of Islamic ideology.
This is all about ” deceptive, discriminatory, supremicist, violent and lethal
ideals and actions” which all fundamentalist and radical Islamist utilize as their
license to impose Islam by what ever means, on the rest of the World.

While those verses remain part of all Islamic indoctrination and are used in abrogation, there will always be fundamentalists ready to take up the sword to impose Islam’s will. They will
also advocate for sharia law and halal certification of all aspects of secondary foods production to enhance and highlight their presence, Islamic identity and raise its finances world-wide.

All Islam and the World’s peoples need to recognize this and advocate for a
major debate and change within Islam now, before the World is faced with a
cataclysmic clash between that ideology and the Western, free, democratic secular
    and civilized World.

Susanne Schroeter’s Wiki resume’ sounds more like some kind of wakademic flying Dutchman, a whirlwind of wakademic irrelevancies like genderism/Anthropology, Sociology, Cultural Studies, Political Science and Education. We should not be impressed with her nonsense about “Islamophobia”, she did not read Koran, sira & hadith, which is evident from a video I just watched where she babbles endlessly in the presence of the eminent Bassam Tibi, who knows his Islam and from whom I myself learned a fair bit. No, Schroeter is not to be taken seriously, her socio-pedagogic observations are shallow and superficial.

    Biography[edit]
Susanne Schröter studied Anthropology, Sociology, Cultural Studies, Political Science and Education at University of Mainz, Germany, she graduated in 1986 (M.A. summa cum laude). After working as Curator at the Women’s Museum, Wiesbaden from 1986 to 1990, she became lecturer at the Department of Anthropology and African Studies, University of Mainz (1991–1996). She was head of the anthropology library and ethnographic collection at the Department of Anthropology and African Studies, University of Mainz from 1993 to 1994. In 1994, she obtained her Ph.D. (magna cum laude) in Anthropology at the University of Mainz with a thesis on the construction of “masculinity” and “femininity” in Melanesia (Dissertation title: “Männliche Selbsterhaltungsstrategien angesichts der Vorstellung omnipotenter Weiblichkeit – Materialien zur Konstruktion von ‘Männlichkeit’ und ‘Weiblichkeit’ in Melanesien”).[1] From 1995-1997, she was a Research Fellow at the Department of Anthropology and African Studies, University of Mainz. From 1997-1999, she worked as a Research Fellow at the Frobenius-Institute [2], Frankfurt. In 1999, she finalized her Habilitation (“Kéo rado – Die Austreibung des Bösen. Ein Beitrag zur Religion und Sozialstruktur der Ngada in Ostindonesien”) and received accreditation as Privatdozentin at Goethe-University Frankfurt with a thesis on religion and social structure among the Ngada in East Indonesia. In 1999, she was a Visiting Professor of Anthropology at the Department of Anthropology and African Studies, University of Mainz. In 2000, she worked as a Visiting Research Fellow at the Department of Anthropology [3], University of Chicago, and as a Visiting Professor at the Department of Anthropology [4], Yale University, New Haven. From 2001 to 2002, she was Visiting Professor of Anthropology at the Institute of Historical Ethnology, Goethe-University Frankfurt, and from 2002 to 2004 Research Fellow at the Frobenius Institute [5], Frankfurt. In 2003, she organized the conference “Christianity in Indonesia. Perspectives of Power” at Goethe-University Frankfurt (in Cooperation with Leiden University. In 2004, she worked as a Visiting Professor at the Doctoral Program “Identity and Difference: Gender Constructions and Interculturality, 18th-21st Centuries” at the University of Trier, as Associate Professor of Anthropology at Goethe-University Frankfurt. In 2004, she became Professor of Southeast Asian studies at Passau University, where she worked until 2008. In 2005, she organized the conference “Islam and Gender in Southeast Asia” at Passau University, Germany. Since 2008, she is Professor of Anthropology of colonial and postcolonial orders at the Cluster of Excellence “Formation of Normative Orders”[6], Goethe-University Frankfurt (German Universities Excellence Initiative).[7]

Susanne Schröter is head of a research group on “Contemporary discourses on state and society in the Islamic world” and carries out a research project founded by the German Research Foundation (DFG) entitled “Re-negotiating gender in contemporary Indonesia. Empowerment strategies of Muslim and secular women activists”.[8]
