Jihad Watch

Exposing the role that Islamic jihad theology and ideology play in the modern global conflicts

Jihad massacres work: Charlie Hebdo not only surrenders, but switches sides

Nov 30, 2016 4:36 pm By Robert Spencer

Charlie Hebdo’s surrender is not a new development. After jihadis opened fire on our free speech event in Garland, Texas in May 2015, Charlie Hebdo staffers attacked us, not the jihadis. Charlie Hebdo editor-in-chief Gérard Biard rejected any comparison between our event and Charlie Hebdo’s Muhammad cartoons: “The difference between us and these people is that these people are organizing contests, anti-Islamist contests. It’s an obsession … We are not obsessed. We are just obsessed by the news, and by how the world is going on. The difference with Pamela Geller, she is obsessed by Islam. She waits [sic] every morning and thinks, What can I do today to defy these people?”

That was bad enough, but it could be dismissed as the typical Leftist fear of being associated with anything described, however inaccurately, as “right-wing”: indeed, it was absurd to think there was any difference between what they did and what we did. Both of us drew Muhammad to defy violent intimidation; there is no “right-wing” and “left-wing” defiance of violent intimidation, it is the same motion.

But now Charlie Hebdo has not just surrendered; it has switched sides and become part of the problem: “Take Charlie’s recent covers. Against terrorists? No. Against those who called them “racists”? No. It was against Éric Zemmour, the brave French journalist at Le Figaro who has led a public debate about French identity. ‘Islam is incompatible with secularism, incompatible with democracy, and incompatible with republican government,’ Zemmour wrote. Laurent Sourisseau, aka “Riss,” now the publishing director and majority owner of Charlie, was shot during the 2015 attack on the magazine, and lives under police protection. He depicted Zemmour on the cover with an explosive vest, effectively comparing him to a terrorist. Charlie Hebdo also recently satirized Nadine Morano, a critic of Islam, depicting her as a baby with Down Syndrome. Riss also recently published a comic book attacking another easy target of submissive conformists, entitled ‘The Dark Side of Marine Le Pen.’ Le Pen leads France’s National Front party, with a platform fighting for national sovereignty and Europe’s Judeo-Christian identity. In Charlie, the political leader of the French ‘right’ is dressed as Marilyn Monroe.”

In Garland, jihadis tried to murder those of us who were standing for the freedom of speech, but they failed; in Paris, they succeeded. I can understand how that difference can change one’s perspective. Nonetheless, I can only hope, no matter what happens in the future, that on none of the days I have left will I surrender and grovel, and shy bricks at those who are still fighting the fight, as Charlie Hebdo has done in its attacks on foes of jihad terror, rather than stand for what is right.

“Islamists Won: Charlie Hebdo Disappears,” by Giulio Meotti, Gatestone Institute, November 30, 2016:

Over twenty years, fear has already devoured important pieces of Western culture and journalism. They all disappeared in a ghastly act of self-censorship: the cartoons of a Danish newspaper, a “South Park” episode, paintings in London’s Tate Gallery, a book published by the Yale University Press; Mozart’s Idomeneo, the Dutch film “Submission”, the name and face of the US cartoonist Molly Norris, a book cover by Art Spiegelman and Sherry Jones’s novel, “Jewel of Medina”, to name just a few. Most of them have become ghosts living in hiding, hidden in some country house, or retired to private life, victims of an understandable but tragic self-censorship.

Only the French satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo was missing from this sad, long list. Until now.

The disappointment with what Charlie Hebdo has become is reflected in the words of the French journalist, Marika Bret: “From Italy we receive many threats.” The reference is not to some Italian jihadist cell, but to a September Charlie Hebdo cover that mocked victims of the earthquake in Italy. It seems that the satirical weekly, almost destroyed by French Islamists two years ago, has been “normalized”.

Take Charlie’s recent covers. Against terrorists? No. Against those who called them “racists”? No. It was against Éric Zemmour, the brave French journalist at Le Figaro who has led a public debate about French identity. “Islam is incompatible with secularism, incompatible with democracy, and incompatible with republican government,” Zemmour wrote.

Riss also recently published a comic book attacking another easy target of submissive conformists, entitled “The Dark Side of Marine Le Pen.” Le Pen leads France’s National Front party, with a platform fighting for national sovereignty and Europe’s Judeo-Christian identity. In Charlie, the political leader of the French “right” is dressed as Marilyn Monroe.

For the first anniversary of the massacre at Charlie Hebdo‘s office, Riss released a cover not with Mohammed, but depicting a murderous Judeo-Christian God, as if Riss’s colleagues had not been butchered by Islamists but by Catholics. Riss had, in fact, announced earlier that the magazine would “no longer draw Mohammed“.

The first person at Charlie to capitulate was “Luz”, a well-known cartoonist. He surrendered, saying: “I will no longer draw Muhammad“.

“The transplant that works worst,” said Jeannette Bougrab, the companion of Charlie’s late editor Stéphane Charbonnier, “is the transplant of balls.” Bougrab charged the attack’s survivors with bowing to terrorism and threats by betraying the legacy of free speech for which these truthful men were murdered.

After the massacre of January 7, 2015, the cartoonist “Luz” cried in front of the cameras after presenting a cover depicting the survivors, in which Muhammad was portrayed as saying, “All is forgiven”. Luz then appeared in Le Grand Journal along with Madonna, and in a gesture of sad voyeurism, displayed his genitals, covered by the logo “Je suis Charlie”.

Charlie‘s “normalization” was also reflected in the recent dramatic decision to terminate the magazine’s relationship with another survivor, the French-Tunisian intellectual and journalist Zineb el Rhazoui, who also now has to live under police protection for her criticism of Islamic extremists.

“The newspaper is no longer the same, Charlie is now under artistic and editorial suffocation,” she told Le Monde. Rhazoui is the author of a new book, “Détruire le Fascisme Islamique” (“Destroying Islamic Fascism“).

“We must continue to portray Muhammad and Charlie; not to do that means there is no more Charlie”, said Patrick Pelloux, another cartoonist who left the magazine.

There were seven cartoonists at Charlie Hebdo. Five were killed on January 7, 2015: Charb, Cabu, Honoré, Tignous and Wolinski. The other two, Luz and Pelloux, resigned after the massacre. The headline of the monthly Causeur captured the atmosphere: “Charlie Hebdo Commits Hara-Kiri,” playing with the Japanese form suicide and the previous name of Charlie (which was “Hara-Kiri“). Between murders, desertions and self-censorship, Charlie‘s story is almost over.

What is happening? Sadly, the Islamists’ threats and attacks are working. A similar crisis affected the Jyllands-Posten, the Danish newspaper that first published the 12 cartoons of Muhammad, which Charlie Hebdo immediately, to show solidarity, reproduced. “The honor of France was saved by Charlie Hebdo,” wrote Bernard-Henri Lévy when the magazine republished the Danish cartoons, while many “right thinking” media blasted the “Islamophobia” of those caricatures.

“The truth is that for us it would be totally irresponsible to publish the cartoons today,” the director of Jyllands-Posten, Jorn Mikkelsen says to justify his self-censorship. “Jyllands-Posten has a responsibility to itself and its employees.” Such as Kurt Westergaard, author of the caricature of Mohammed with a bomb in his turban, who now lives in a house-fortress, with cameras and security windows and machine-gun toting guards outside.

An ideological clash inside Charlie Hebdo developed well before the terror attack. Zineb el Rhazoui arrived at the weekly magazine through editor Stéphane Charbonnier, “Charb”, the brave journalist who lead the battle against Islamist intimidation in Europe. Even from his grave, he penned an “Open Letter to the Fraudsters of Islamophobia Who Play Into Racists’ Hands.” But, as Libération writes, “Riss opposed Charb; he is less politically identified, more introverted than him.”

Charbonnier belonged to the generation of Philippe Val and Caroline Fourest, the libertarian journalists determined to criticize Islam, who, from 1992 to 2009, shaped the weekly magazine.

“Charb? Where is Charb?“, shouted the terrorists in Charlie Hebdo’s office, to make sure they found the journalist they considered responsible for the Mohammed cartoons controversy.

Philippe Val, who as a former Charlie Hebdo editor, was put on trial in Paris for printing those cartoons, published a book “Malaise dans l’inculture” (“Sickness in the Lack of Culture“), which attacks “the ideological Berlin Wall” that has been raised by the Left.

In 2011, after a firebombing that destroyed Charlie’s offices, an appeal by frightened, intimidated journalists announced their refusal to support the magazine’s stance on Islam. Two years later, one of the signatories, Olivier Cyran, a former editor of Charlie Hebdo, charged the magazine with being “obsessive about the Muslims.” So did a former Charlie journalist, Philippe Corcuff, who accused his colleagues at the magazine of fomenting “a clash of civilizations.”

The attacks continued with another former cartoonist at Charlie Hebdo, Delfeil de Ton, who, in Le Nouvel Observateur, after the 2015 massacre, shamefully accused Charb of “dragging” the staff into the slaughter by continuing to satirize Mohammed.

After the Kouachi brothers slaughtered Charlie Hebdo‘s staff, they ran out into the street and cried: “We have avenged Mohammed. We killed Charlie Hebdo.” Two years later, it appears that they won. They succeeded in silencing the last European magazine still ready to defend freedom of expression from Islamism. And they sent a special warning to all the others. Because after Charlie Hebdo, writing articles critical of Islam, or penning a cartoon, make them a target for assassination attempts and intimidation campaigns.

The feminist and philosopher Elisabeth Badinter, who testified in court for the French cartoonists in the documentary, “Je suis Charlie,” said: “If our colleagues in the public debate do not share part of the risk, then the barbarians have won.”

The magazine Paris Match asked Philippe Val if he could imagine the disappearance of Charlie Hebdo. Val replied: “This would be the end of a world and the beginning of Michel Houellebecq’s ‘Submission'”. After attacks comes self-censorship: submission. If Charlie Hebdo is tired and fleeing from responsibilities, who can blame it? But the others, the rest?

I am hoping that things will change after Penn gets in but don’t hold your breath!! I was about to mention Charles Martel, too. If it weren’t for him and true French patriots willing to give up their lives to defend France and Christian Europe from islam, we might all be muslims today. Sadly, such heroes are today considered “barbarians”, and the so-called “modern men” have taken over not just France, but most of the West as well. “Modern” is a codeword for weakly, feeble, emasculated, feminized, liberal, etc. Robert Spencer’s piece about “Obama and The Modern Man” is particularly interesting.

Printed on all Charlie Hebro employee paychecks, including the editor’s, is the line item – “Deduction for Jizya”.

The break room now has a sign on the wall “Halal meat only”.

The hiring guidelines now state “No Jews allowed”.

I would remind everyone that here in America conservative Laura Ingraham and mostly conservative Bill O’Reilly also treated derisively with Pamela Geller and Robert Spencer for being involved in the event in Garland, Texas of last year that involved mocking Mohammed and his creed. They each stupidly blamed those who dared mock a religion which mandates death for criticism of their prophet and the religion he founded.

Well, the threatening of death for saying or writing things should be condemned by all who wish to be respected. And the taking on of such barbarians by mocking them should be applauded by all who wish to be respected. Not only has Charlie Hebdo miserably failed the test here but so has Bill O’Reilly and Laura Ingraham———-which is the main reason why (there are other reasons) why I have lost so much respect for these two faux conservatives.

“I would remind everyone that here in America conservative Laura Ingraham and mostly conservative Bill O’Reilly also treated derisively with Pamela Geller and Robert Spencer for being involved in the event in Garland, Texas of last year that involved mocking Mohammed and his creed. ”

Don’t forget President-Elect Trump, back before being the Republican candidate:

Funny to look back and read criticism of Trump in Breitbart, who tirelessly worked to promote Trump and debunk the falsehoods and misconstructions the liberal media flung at him during the last Presidential elections. As the saying goes, “life is a comedy for those who think and a tragedy for those who feel” 🙂

Good point, salient point, Angemon. One to be noted as you did.

Well, as I have said before here at JW, Trump is a step in the right direction but only a step. He did say earlier this year, and I quote, “I think Islam hates us,” but this statement must be contrasted with contrary statements such as what you provided.

I hope Trump, like Truman, is, as the great historian, Paul Johnson, said of Truman, to wit, he was ignorant but he learned fast. For the continued freedom of the West, Trump had better be.

You know, Trump reminds me of Churchill but without Churchill’s knowledge. The fact that that this is the best the West can do right now (minus Geert Wilders and a very few others) invests me with both hope and fear. I’m sure, Angemon, you will not miss my overall point here since you miss almost nothing.

I believe President-Elect Trump was provided protection by the Secret Service when he became the candidate. However, I am quite sure that he added additional security as, as you say, he can afford bodyguards.

I think and hope that Mr. Trump now understands more about Islam and the purpose of the Mohamed cartoon contest. The next step in his progression should be that he drops the “Radical” and just says Islam, as all of Islam is radical.

I want to say how much I admire Ms. Geller. . She is a brave woman.
As for Charlie Hebdo, it is easy to be brave when you are not being threatened. But true bravery is when you are threatened, are afraid, but do what is right anyway. The French, as a whole, have not been noted for that.

Just a typical “Stockholm Syndrome” reaction to the ongoing jihadi war against non-Muslims.

    From wikipedia:

Stockholm syndrome, or capture-bonding, is a psychological phenomenon first described in 1973 in which hostages express empathy and sympathy and have positive feelings toward their captors, sometimes to the point of defending and identifying with the captors. These feelings are generally considered irrational in light of the danger or risk endured by the victims, who essentially mistake a lack of abuse from their captors for an act of kindness.[1][2] The FBI’s Hostage Barricade Database System shows that roughly eight percent of victims show evidence of Stockholm syndrome.[3]

Stockholm syndrome can be seen as a form of traumatic bonding, which does not necessarily require a hostage scenario, but which describes “strong emotional ties that develop between two persons where one person intermittently harasses, beats, threatens, abuses, or intimidates the other.”[4] One commonly used hypothesis to explain the effect of Stockholm syndrome is based on Freudian theory. It suggests that the bonding is the individual’s response to trauma in becoming a victim. Identifying with the aggressor is one way that the ego defends itself. When a victim believes the same values as the aggressor, they cease to be perceived as a threat.[5]

    …………………….

From time to time those here have wondered how dhimmitude ever developed–well, we are seeing it in process here.

As is so common, dhimmis are not just bowing to Islam–disgusting but at least somewhat understandable–but are actually lashing out at those brave enough to still take a stand against the threat of Islam.

A prime example is this attack on Éric Zemmour–grotesquely depicting *him* as a terrorist, rather than an opponent of Jihad terror.

Two years ago, like so many others, I declared “Je Suis Charlie!”. Now, not even twenty-three months later, there is no “Charlie” to declare solidarity with.

    I am saddened and disgusted.

I can imagine that the rebellious creativity that flowed so freely from mind to hand has been utterly severed. Trauma is a very interesting phenomenon, it is difficult enough to process a trauma in private, let alone to the whole world and find the courage to resist. The undeniable fact is the corrupt stink of Islam is in the air, one can choose to deny the stench, but it is still there. I can’t condemn a person for not wanting to fight when they have come so close to death, but understand that these opinions come from primal fear. I think Molly Norris had the right idea, but with some refinements needed, everybody draw Mo anonymously, create such a mass that it could not be challenged, but that would probably start a civil war within the affected countries.

I have noted that when the Muslim world is offended by say, a cartoon of Mohamed with a bomb in his turban, that they go on a violent frenzy—toward each other. I suppose, not having the means or ability to go to Denmark to kill, they kill what is close–their own countrymen. Their creed is Violence for its own sake.

If by “Affected countries” you mean Muslim countries, their killing each other in a civil war might not be all that bad.

I am going to be a grinch here. I said way back when the Charlie Hebdo attacks occurred that Leftist satirists would prove a frail reed to lean on, and they’d cave in as soon as the going got rough. It is clear that the Charlie Hebdo crew is made of the same stuff as the Comedy Network here in the states; and all those other cheap, scornful, willfully ignorant idiots who are thought brave, progressive, and clever when they skewer Christianity but are good little Dhimmi when it comes to Islam.

Uncle Kepha has had enough. Shortly after it was announced that Trump had won, one of my “ox-heads” drew a swastika on the blackboard to frame me. It was the Mahayana Buddhist one rather than the National Socialist one, so I confronted him. “C’mon, everyone knows you’re part German!” I was told. I pointed out that the German heritage was Jewish, and that that side of the family lost kin in the Shoah. Whereupon one of my Muslim students gasps in horror. Kindly old Doc is one of the JOOOOZ (even if of the kind that believes M’shiach has come).

I never had the “bring it on!” attitude towards Islam, even though I am ready to arm up, learn martial skills, and fight if God indeed desires to come into judgment with us his servants (including all those rebellious children of Western Christian civilization who simply will not have Christ rule over them)–and I pray that this may not happen.

Let Charlie Hebdo and its ilk in whatever language they choose to use stand with the barbarians–and let them work the same kind of escapist, corrosive, weakening, and demoralizing magic they’ve used too long on the Christian West. And if the LGBTQ’s join with Islam, so be it. Unrepentant sexual perversion (along with the mocking sarcasm that comes out of every Ahmad Deedat wannabe whose arguments get shot to rags) finds its true home in Islam, even if the poor catamite who gets caught is the one stoned or thrown off a building even while the dominant sodomite gets to condemn him in imperturbable self-righteousness.

If (and may it never be) Western Europe and the bulge of Africa get overrun by the Jihadi hordes, and Uncle Kepha finds himself the reluctant, unwilling grand dictatorial Maximon Lider of the USA, and is faced with a boatload of leading West European cultural and critical lights heading for refuge on our shores and three boatloads of African Christians seeking the same, despite the many times he has been charged with being a racist, Uncle Kepha would order the Navy to torpedo the European cultural lights in mid-Ocean, and order the Coast Guard to get the African Christians to port (with plenty of lifeboats and rescue crews at ready just in case) and through refugee processing ASAP. The so-called “independent Marxists” who fled Ulbricht’s socialist paradise for the Bundesrepublik proved to be nurturants of the New Left, and hence the most effective Fifth Column the Stalinists ever had. I have seen enough of the African Christian immigrants in America to sense another incarnation of that 19th century moral capital of Europe that built us up in an earlier time. And, yes, should the leaders of Europe’s liberalized churches seek refuge in such an emergency, I’d have them row back across the North Atlantic in the dead of winter.

Be assured, I will never let the First Amendment go down. But I have absolutely no illusions about those for whom our current leaders invoke it and who are held up as its most wonderful practitioners. I will continue to flee from standing on a soapbox and riling up crowds of the like-minded. I will abominate the Hitlers and Mussolinis (along with the Maos, Stalins, Lenins, Angela Davises, and Saloth Sars of the world)–and freely admit that among the things that turned me off to Shrillary Shroooooo were her chin-jutting, Mussolini-esque poses and feminized Hitlerian witch’s cackle of a voice (to say nothing of her penchant for staying a jump ahead of the law and stench of corruption).
But I am fed up, and seeing Charlie Hebdo side with those who’d murder its staff has torn away the last shred of sympathy I ever had for them.

God forgive me for such a rant! I know I should be forgiving, for I take every jot and tittle from Genesis through Revelation seriously. But as I’d tell so many other subversive humorists when they’ve condescended to say I’ve been a good egg, here’s more gist for your mill and your poking away at hypocritical Christians. I’m sick and tired of my civilization being torn down by people it’s nurtured, protected, educated, and all the rest. While I’d love it if they’d repent, and rejoice and sing Psalms no matter how dreadful my singing voice is, a part of me is telling the whole lot of the EmCeePeeCee crowd that they can just go hang themselves along with their patron saint Judas Iscariot,

Thanks for letting a cranky old not-all-white man vent.

Grvenimage, I reply feeling a deep agony of soul. I suppose that what I see in people like the Charlie Hebdo staff is a case of asking to be victimized; not by being obnoxious or by repaying evil for evil, but giving the violent and dangerous a right to be violent and dangerous. The Leftists cultural figures and critics are the very people who through us open to exploitation by the furor islamicus. I myself feel deeply disturbed by this conclusion, but I cannot escape it.

Ultimately, the Western Leftist is no different than the jihadist living in the West. Both see our dearly held freedoms as tools to use against their ideological enemies. When the tool is no longer needed the victory is achieved.
What is grotesquely ironic is the typical Leftist’ inability to see that they are the fool sitting on the branch blithely sawing away.
The worst of the whole lot are the knowing Leftists who put on the hijab and abet the jihad and care not for any human being other than themselves.

It is really sad the French Government does not protect its citizens and protects Muslims who do nothing but destroy the freedom that France had for a while. Funny part is that Islam does not bring any benefit to anybody including Muslims. It stills amazes me that the world can tolerate this sick cult called Islam,

    • Kepha says

We tolerate it for the same reasons we tolerate Marxism-Leninism. We have loved ones caught up in it, and are praying that they would come to their senses. And, there’s just such a large swathe of the world caught up in it.

In brief: example Abu Sufyan (and countless others).

Once among the “ring-leaders” who opposed “Allah and His Messenger.”

And of those “ring-leaders,” as Sira relates, “the example of the ring-leaders has been made.” (Ibn Hisham)

    Indeed it has.

And for that reason, daily, the ranks shrink of those who oppose “Allah and His Messenger” and the message that alleged messenger brought.

    • Michael says

      Nov 30, 2016 at 11:20 pm

I’m not so certain the ranks of opposition to islam are shrinking. Yes the public Lefties are shirking and cowering on every side, but not the true westerners. I see more and more American flags flying proudly over American homes. Pickups sporting messages of absolute defiance to islam are more frequent. The false media hacks and all their conjured spells are broken. They have no power to feed us “correct ideas” any longer. No, the resistance grows, but in humbler circles. Like Mr. Trump’s election, there could more stunning surprises down the road.

Saudi prince: It’s time for women to drive
“There are more than one million Saudi women in need of a safe means of transportation to take them to work every morning,” he wrote.
Families who hire foreign drivers could save 3,800 riyals ($1,000) a month on average if women were allowed to drive.
That cash could be pumped back into the Saudi economy, rather than being sent back by migrant workers to their home countries.

That means the Saudis spent 12 Billion US Dollars a year for the… non-saudi drivers???? (Note: $1000 is huge sum in MENA). Yeah, being a muslim is not easy, it’s stupid!)))

The drivers are foreign, but they are definitly muslims, from other muslim countries. And since the oil prices fell, Saudis start scratching their heads, and thinking if there is something wrong with shariah.

Prominent critics of Islam must employ bodyguards and live in safe houses while Imams who preach death and submission live freely in our midst.

Opponents of more muslim immigration are called racist while “refugees” collect taxpayer funded benefits.

Countries like Saudi Arabia and Qatar refuse to take in any migrants while funding large scale mosque building in the West.

“Refugees” in Europe demand better housing while defecating in public swimming pools and raping women and children.

Robert, The article linked cherry picks and is ludicrously biased. It took me a matter of minutes(although a few more to put this comment together lol) to find information refuting the claim that CH has somehow become soft on Islam.

‘Charlie Hebdo staff have been threatened with a new attack following the publication of their latest edition, the cover of which features a cartoon naked Muslims at a beach, with the words “Muslims loosen up”.
The latest issue of the controversial satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo features a naked man and woman running towards the shoreline of a beach.

The man’s penis can be seen through his long beard, and the woman is totally naked except for her veil over he head and shoulders.

The caption reads “The reform of Islam: Muslims, loosen up” or “Musulmans decoincez vous”.’

    http://www.thelocal.fr/20160812/new-charlie-hebdo-cover-sparks-more-attack-threats

‘The cover shows a picture of a famous Belgian pop star/rapper named Stromae, with body parts scattered across a Belgian flag. The caption on the picture reads in French: “Papa, where are you?” — a reference to a song of the same name by the artist that went to number one on French music charts in 2013’

Now there seems to be a pattern of denial here. The club where the latest attack of islamists in France took place barred the US band that was playing at the time from entering when there was a memorial, even though this band lost one of their own, for the simple reason of pointing into the direction of muslim staff that might have helped the terrorists. The French are a bunch of spineless cowards, I’m afraid. Ostrich policy seems to be the easiest: put your head into the sand and everything is cosy as soon as there is alarm ringing.

Christ and freedom are not at odds. Christ was a key figure in the separation of religion and state. Love is perhaps the one thing no one can force on anyone, because love comes from the innermost part of a person. Christ’s whole teaching was based on love. Christ and freedom are not at odds, even if some Christians have not noticed that yet.

        Thomas and Eduardo:

Where the spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty: (II Cor, 3:17). Why? The work of Jesus Christ has freed believers from the condemnation of the law. As for love, properly it is poured out through the Holy Spirit of Christ.

I cannot help but notice that the more we disparage Christ, the more we are subject to overbearing politicians and their clients, the more fearful we are of an old/new barbarism, and the more subject we are to base passions.

Charlie Hebdo in its current behavior reminds me in one sense of Kalid Sheik Mohamad, “mastermind” of 9/11 — KSM and Charlie Hebdo have both been broken and now work for their former enemies — KSM helps the CIA, Charlie Hebdo in its fear of the jihad killers runs interference for them. Hebdo was broken by the jihadist mass murders that have recently been getting so frequent in France as Islam seeks to extend totalitarianism over Europe. KSM was broken by CIA waterboarding or the like in defense of US democracy.

But, according to the LCI, (translation is a bit clunky)

”guest in the morning of LCI, Riss, the editor of Charlie Hebdo , returned to the controversy sparked by the statements of Eric Zemmour on terrorism. In the magazine Talker October, Eric Zemmour said that there was “something respectable” among jihadists. “I respect people willing to die for what they believe in what for,” said he said triggering an investigation for incitement to terrorism.
