Why didn’t the Muslims who saw this message report Artan to the police or the FBI?
“Ohio State Attacker Identified as Somali-Born Student,” by Jonathan Dienst, NBC News, November 28, 2016:
The man who attacked and injured nine people at Ohio State University Monday morning was a Somali national who had permanent residency in the United States, senior law enforcement sources said.
Abdul Razak Ali Artan drove a car into a crowd of people, then got out and stabbed several more before he was shot and killed by campus police.
Officials also confirmed that the 18-year-old was enrolled as an Ohio State student and had transferred there from Columbus State Community College. A media spokesperson for Columbus State said that Artan had attended school there and graduated cum laude with an Associate of Arts degree in the spring of 2016. He had no record of behavioral or disciplinary issues during his time there, the spokesperson said.
Artan was born in 1998 and left Somalia in 2007, officials told NBC News. He ultimately settled in Pakistan before coming to the United States in 2014, arriving at John F. Kennedy Airport in New York City….
Law enforcement officials tell NBC News that Artan left behind a post on what appeared to be his Facebook page shortly before the attack, saying that assault on Muslims around the world “led to a boiling point. I can’t take it anymore.” The post ends: “By Allah, I am willing to kill a billion infidels in retribution for a single DISABLED Muslim/Musliman.”
The post appears to show that Artan suggested people “screenshot” his message before it got taken down. In fact, what appears to have been his Facebook account is now offline….
